Over 100 Shanghai Layouts
Choose from over 100 of Activision's standard Shanghai layouts categorized in six groups: Kid Layouts, Quickies Advanced, Quickies Normal, Standard Advanced, Standard Easy, and Standard Normal. Choose one to play or have the program automatically randomly pick.
Built-in Layout Editor
Want to spin your own layout? You can with the built-in layout editor. Start from scratch or copy one of the built-in standard layouts to get a running start. Tiles can be easily added or removed from the playing field with a tap of the stylus. Organize your custom layouts into collections which can be shared with other Shanghai users. The play field can be a maximum of 9 tiles wide by 8 tall. In addition, tiles may be stacked 5 high.
Record Your Best Scores
When all the tiles are removed, your score is automatically recorded. The time, play mode and layout are all recorded so that you can keep a record of your best scores.
Two Levels of Difficulty
Each tile set contains 36 unique tiles which may be repeated up to 4 times each. For an easer game, you may instead choose to use only 24 unique tiles per game.
Four Play Modes
Choose from one of four play modes:
Shanghai: Remove pairs of tiles that are free to the slide left or right.
Path 2D: Remove tile pairs that can be connected by a line with two or fewer turns. Tiles must be on the same level.
Path 3D: Remove tile pairs that can be connected by a line with two or fewer turns. Tiles may be on different levels.
Contemplation: For a challenge, the tiles are area all face down. Tap to turn each tile over. Matching tiles are removed.
