Before you start, here are the requirements:

:arrow: You should have Quickoffice v3.x or v4.x installed. (For those who have v5.x installed, I will post the solution to remove it shortly)

:arrow: X-plore file manager is preferred. You can use any file manager of your choice but I have used X-plore in this tutorial.

:arrow: Your phone should have good internet connectivity (LAN, 3G, etc). You need to download approx 1.7 MB of data.

:arrow: On your phone make a folder E:\AdobeReader and copy the supplied AdobeReaderLE.sis file to it. We will install it later.

Lets do it

Start QuickOffice and scroll to Quickmanager tab by pressing joystick right. Then select "Updates & upgrades" by clicking it.

Confirm when prompted to connect to internet and select the access point. Now the catalog will get updated and presented to you. Select Adobe Reader LE 2.5 by clicking on it.

When this page appears select Purchase (left softkey). You will then get prompted for Full license. Press OK (left softkey)

Now the following screen will be shown and downloading will start. When the download completes, you will be prompted to press 'Continue'. BUT DO NOT PRESS IT

:arrow: Step 1
Now without closing QuickOffice switch to X-Plore and browse to C:\private\200002c0\. This folder will contain a file named install.zip. Copy this file to the E:\AdobeReader\ folder. Now switch back to QuickOffice, cancel the purchase and close it.

:arrow: Step 2
Now install the E:\AdobeReader\AdobeReaderLE.sis. After installation do not start Adobe PDF.

:arrow: Step 3
Create the following folders & sub folders if they don't already exist:
c:\system\data\quickoffice\license_install\WAF0003 \

Open up E:\AdobeReader\install.zip in X-plore and extract data.xml & key files to the folder we just created above (Mark those files & press 4 to extract).

All done! :D Now you have your very own full retail version of Adobe Reader LE 2.5. In case you ever format your phone or upgrade firmware just perform Steps 2 & 3. Preserve the E:\AdobeReader\ folder and its contents for future installations.

I have personally followed this procedure on my N73 & N95 successfully. On N73 for internet connectivity I used bluetooth (GnuBox) :D

Few days ago, i upgraded quicoffice from v3 to v5 with this method.. Today i tried Adobe Reader update, same method.. Wont work.

OK. Mea Culpa. I see my version is v5.

I have installed V5 and this method doesn't work for me as well.

I'll be posting an uninstaller for the QO v5.0 upgrade in the next 30 mins...

Sorry guys! It will take a lot more time than expected because of some bugs I found out at the last minute. I'll be posting it only after some rigorous testing since I don't want any broken QO installations. Be assured the uninstaller will be released within the next 24 hours. :D

So - you want to post now a new thread for every single item offered by quickoffice's quickmanager ?
Its all the same. And all items can be downloaded/freely-registered that way. Just check the xml file within the zip - there are the directories mentioned where all has to go !
Users have successfully upgraded directly from v4.5 using the same method.
With ver 3.x of quickmanager it downloads the file to the phone before purchase - with ver 4.x it changed the protocol.
I had v3.x installed but did not have to restart after upgrading.
And a restart is needed as licensemanager must register the license files - not needed with later installation starting quickoffice 4.5

If a user has already installed QO v5.0 do you have a solution for them? I don't want to know how it is to be done....just give me a solution if you have one. And remember its easier said than done :D

whats so lost here - no need to over-react - open quickmanager and you see :
Adobe acrobat, quickweather, quickcalendar, quickexpense, quicksecure, quickclock, quickdictionary (fr, ger, it, ru, spa). (all aliases to epocware apps)

All these apps are free with quickoffice or the same adobe acrobat reader license trick. From most interest will be quickweather :)

it's a bug that even Quickoffice admits.. they promised a solution a while ago but so far nothing :(

Donno why, i unable to install when the install bar at 50% of the progress.. I got the install.zip but it's useless before i can install the attachment's file~ using n95-1.

I believe that Adboe LE 2.5 doesn't remove version 1.5 because it must be using some of the files from this version, but if we just remove the icon from the menus it would be enough (at least for me :))

No mate its not the problem with the one attached here. The problem is with your net connection/browser. Thats why your downloads are getting corrupted...in QO thread also you mentioned this. Just clear the cache & download again to check ;)

You have to follow same procedure.just that folder to which the 2 files have to be copied(data and key) is different.so you download the app in quickmanger ,go to the mentioned folder in private and copy the installer.zip. copy to pc and use winrar .you get 4 files.install the sis.now open manifest in notepad.among the gibberish you will find the folder address similar to one swankyleo mentioned for adobe .(c>system>data>quickoffice>license_install>some folder starting with capital W)

But, unfortunately, there is one thing that disturb me, that is the OLDER version of Adobe Reader LE (v1.5) is NOT replaced with the NEWER one (v2.5), so I have TWO Adobe Reader LE now and the OLDER version just stuck in my phone. Please, see the attachment.

But, when I updating the preinstalled Quickoffice v3 with "v5 Premier", then the OLDER version of quickoffice is REPLACED with the NEWER one.

It is very annoying for having TWO IDENTICAL programs because one of them will be useless and (of course) will consume more memory.

I get the install.zip is corrupted and it has happened 5 times in a row.

Can someone please just post the install.zip file? I mean this downloading and getting corrupt files is unnecessary if someone could just post the file. Thanks! The key file extracted just fine, but the install never downloads correctly.

You should wait till till the download on the quickoffice update manager completes and only then copy the file . Maybe you're copying the file prematurely before download completes . Download a fresh copy of the file . The file might have been got corrupted as it might not have been downloaded properly . Enjoy buddy . Don't worry .

NO mate still no possibility to have only 2.5 version. after this procedure everybody has two adobe readers. we have to wait, maybe some symbian master find out have to get rid the old version, or replace it.

Thank you all. I have finally got it to work. It seems that the original adobereaderLE.sis file i had was faulty in some way though i downloaded it from the first post. Perhaps an error in the download procedure. I have now downloaded it again and now have LE2.5 up and running.

i changed my appshell and deleted the line in there...
So it's gone in my menu.....

hey rolan95d you are accusomed to this business, but do mention the exact phrase coz several people will also jump into this procedure and may end up messing up their phone .
Till then people don't try this procedure . He's experienced while you may not be so .

Hi.... just one question... i just got the n82 yesterday, im a noob at this (first smartphone) i have read a lot about all this hacks, apps, etc..... I read that only hacked phones can use this tutorial, so.... Does the Hellocarbide count as a way to hack the phone??..... Because i could do all the steps but its not working, i already installed it but its asking me the unlock code.....

So, do i need then to do the ROMpatcher tutorial first???? Can i get the unlock code by signing the app?? (using signsys or something like that) What should i do? Can i just delete the adobe 2.5 edition and reinstall it (afert properly hacking the phone first)?? or do i have now to format the phone???

Hi! Thanks a lot for your help, but i already installed it, how? Well, i erased the application, and then erased the license via x-plore, ( i had a backup of the install.zip), then i followed the ROMpatcher and Signsys tutorial and tried it again beggining from step 2... and it worked! I already installed this and Quickoffice 5.0.32...... I dont really know why it didnt worked for me with Hellocarbide but thanks anyway!

hey m8 , hellocarbide or rompatcher certainly has nothing to do with the success of this tutorial . They only allow you to they and edit certain system critical files and folders protected by s60 v3 platsec , and as such whichever hacking method used as far as it is successful , it really doesn't matter ;)
Secondly , i'm happy you experimented a little and reversed the technique and then re-applied it properly , this trick seems to work with every odd app for symbian phones ;)
Actually , the application has been built in such a way as to store data.xml and key file in respective folders(as of date i've managed to find three places where it's kept :))
These places are where it creates these files for you , when you enter the serial no.
Actually in this tut you're trying to trick it into beleiving that you're already possessing the key(which you definitely aren't) and that these files were created previously and the app is forced into beleiving you , wow quickoffice is smart , it implemented a patch so it works only on older or not regularly updated phones only :)

i have followed this procedure: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=251076 but now i have a Adobe PDF(1.5) icon in "office" folder and a Adobe PDF (2,5)icon in "menu"..i hoped to upgrade the Adobe in "office" folder!:afraid:

just move the icon to that folder , and stop crying m8 ;)

Can someone please just post the install.zip file? I mean this downloading and getting corrupt files is unnecessary if someone could just post the file. Thanks! The key file extracted just fine, but the install never downloads correctly.

just open with x-plore....works for me....system file manager doesn't work..

That's coz the default file manager wouldn't show most of c drive folders at any cost :)
Even if caps were turned off , it wouldn't let you see anything
So , it'd be necessary to use third party file managers :)

If you can't get it , just use binpda cracked version . Search for adobe 2.5
Else ask in official problems thread cuz it's your phone's problem not the app's
