CONNEX 7th April 2008, 23:01 Here is the copy of the Z "hacked" drive from a Nokia E60 with Netmonitor enabled
RAPIDSHARE (http://rapidshare.com/files/105634042/e60_Z.rar)
For example, you can find in Z:/sys/Bin/ files like Ftd.exe, Ftserver.exe...

Of course, this versions doesn't work on other S60v3 models (like N95, N80...).
So now, we are waiting for the "Z FTD Drives" from other S60v3 phones !!! Very Happy
kojirox 14th May 2008, 07:54 Have u any screenshot?
ToJa92 14th May 2008, 07:58 Hmm... I try to find all files in the z:\ folders, but I only found Ftd.dll5l and ftdgwctest.exe and they were both the same size as the files from the e60. So is there a way of getting this on e65? Thanks in advance...

He says it only works on E60, so I'm not surprised. But on my E65, when opening, it just flashes by and close itself.
avishayil 14th May 2008, 11:31 What is FTD ?
tecnologo81 14th May 2008, 11:31 I have tested on E65,N73,N95,6120c and its NOT work!

tecnologo81 14th May 2008, 15:52 Ftd = field test. Its an professional netmonitor. With symbian7/8 (6630/6680) ftd is a sis files. In symbian9 ftd is preinstalled in some firmware only for network operators.

a lot can be done...i hv used ftd in s60v2...on my nokia 6630. the best use of ftd for me is to change the network tower . means u can scan for all the towers or so called MSC's available in nearby area and choose the one that gives u fastest internet connectivity. i used to switch to EDGE tower using FTD. :ilove::ilove:
ToJa92 15th May 2008, 10:01 Is there any way of getting netmonitor on E65? I tried copying the files, but the app just flashes by and then closes..

have you got FTD firmware on e65??
CONNEX 15th May 2008, 16:28 Connex what phone is it? e60?
Yes, that's an E60.
tecnologo81 15th May 2008, 17:38 I use FTD to lock the mobile phone on a channel. In italy the operator WiND has got EDGE only on 1800 channels.

Yes, that's the msot used function by field maintenance, too. But not repairing and searching for MSCs, like those two have said :hehe:
I have two questions. What do you use to view your hidden files on your Symbian device, and what did you use to write fiels to your C:\sys... because I do use Y-Browser, but it won't show me the hidden files or folders and I'm not sure wether it would allow me to write to any folder on my C drive on my device... :partyman:
CONNEX 15th May 2008, 17:44 ... did anyone try to save the app from the Z drive of a N95 and put it into another?
We didn't find yet anybody who has a Nokia N95 with FTD enabled ! :sadly:
And last, but not least, what utility did you use to copy onto your C drive in your phone? :oops2:
LonelyCatGames X-Plore, for example.
Or FExplorer, or Active File...

Now that's what I'm talking about  Thanks. Well I can manage to have an FTD enabled N95 and copy the Z drive out of it... just give me time, be patient :weedman:

chribok 15th May 2008, 17:58 Wawooo. Use x-plore to wiew in c. And install rom patcher
Rom patcher? How do I use it? Don't really want to mess up my device, cuz my brother is 900km away to fix it for me :hehe: And yeah, do I use the same way and put the same files found on the Z drive of the other N95 FTD enabled on mine? :ashamed:
2 tecnologo81: amigo, do you have Skype, MSN or ICQ? I would appreciate some help with this ROMpatcher thing... we need to get this thing working on N95, too :egdance:
tecnologo81 15th May 2008, 18:04 To view and write in c >sys>bin for example you must have the hack on your phone. The FTD files are 16. In the first page of 3d
.P.S. Sorry for my english
CONNEX 15th May 2008, 18:10 Now that's what I'm talking about  Thanks.
First of all, you have to HACK the SymbianOS Permissions, in order to view all the system files, including the Z drive. HERE (http://www.symbian-freak.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18252) is the procedure. You have to do this on both N95 (the "normal" one, ant the one with FTD enabled)
Then you copy the following files from the Z drive of the N95 with FTD enabled :
Z\resource\APPS the files :
Ftd.mbm
Ftd.mif
ftd.rsc
ftd2.rsc
Ftd_aif.mif
Z\sys\Bin the files :
Ftd.exe
ftdadspplugin.dll
ftdconnmonplugin.dll
FtdGwcTest.exe
ftdmccplugin.dll
ftdsysteminfoplugin.dll
ftdversioninfoplugin.dll
ftserver.exe
ftserverif.dll
Z\resource\Plugins the file :
ftd.dll55l
Z\private\10003a3f\apps\ the file :
FtdApp_reg.rsc
You post them here on IPmart :weedman:, then you copy these files on your "normal" N95 C drive, like this :
Put in C\resource\APPS the files :
Ftd.mbm
Ftd.mif
ftd.rsc
ftd2.rsc
Ftd_aif.mif
Put in C\sys\Bin the files :
Ftd.exe
ftdadspplugin.dll
ftdconnmonplugin.dll
FtdGwcTest.exe
ftdmccplugin.dll
ftdsysteminfoplugin.dll
ftdversioninfoplugin.dll
ftserver.exe
ftserverif.dll
Put in C\resource\Plugins the file :
ftd.dll55l
Put in C\private\10003a3f\apps\import\apps\ the file :
FtdApp_reg.rsc
chribok 15th May 2008, 18:17 First of all, you have to HACK the SymbianOS Permissions, in order to view all the system files, including the Z drive...

I never used this method (because the other method, that is described in my other post, worked very very well, all time, on my N95 and N95 8GB)...
The most important thing is that you ONLY want to gain acces to the system files and folders. So with X-Plore, if you can browse for example through c:\sys\bin\ after appling the HACK, that means that it's OK, the Hack worked and you cand now copy the FTD files. If you can't acces this folder after applying the hack, it means that there was a problem somewhere.
But I repeat : I've done this hack (the first method) 6 or 7 times, and it worked perfectely, without any problem ! Even on Vista, and even with Nokia PC Suite 6.86. :)
tecnologo81 15th May 2008, 18:49 ehm ehm and for n73?? Have you got FTD?

no..i'm sure. Exists n73 and 6120 with FDT
chribok 15th May 2008, 21:21 Patching my phone right now, by the way. If I succeed, I'll tell my colleague to do so, too. He'll send me the needed files tomorrow. BTW. is there any server where we could find out which models are shipped with FTD from Nokia? I'm planning to replace my N95 by an E90 and would really like to have the FTD for my working purposes on that one, too... :backtotopic:
chribok 15th May 2008, 21:29 Damn thing! I used the shorter method, I can still see the same things as I did before applying the patch. Even without the patch, when I ran X-Plore and switched it on so that it shows me Hidden files and System folders, I could see the same crap as now. On the C:\ drive I can only see the Sys folder, no Bin in it... is it normal, or the patch did not work out? :oops2:

As CONNEX said, you have to wait, musíš počkať chvíľu :ashamed: We're getting the files out of a classical N95 with FTD enabled, then we'll try it on mine first, of course :egdance: And while I'll be trying it, I'll post the files here, too. While looking at the techspecs of both phones, the only difference between the two models is the RAM memory and some design diffies... so IMHO it should work on the 8GB version, too :pmpl:
CONNEX 15th May 2008, 22:15 We're getting the files out of a classical N95 with FTD enabled
If your friend don't know how to extract the specific FTD files (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2021946&postcount=32) from his Z drive, then he can also copy the entire Z drive (like the other person has done for the E60) and send it to you. :)

My colleagues have it in their business N95's, as they are field maintenance guys. So now we just have to wait till tomorrow for them, to download the files, send them over to me and I'll post them up here and hopefully, I'll be already having it in my N95 by that time... we could not manage all these things today because I was pretty damn busy and the guys, too. chribok 16th May 2008, 09:47 2 CONNEX, tecnologo81: guys, I have one more question. This ROMPatcher, when it's switched on (I mean both scripts for displaying hidden files, etc.) and the Disable caps, I have some unused and not working links and menu items everywhere I go on my phone. After switching it off, everything is back to normal, but of course I cannot see the hidden folders. After installing the FieldTest, do I have to have the ROMPatcher switched on with all those goodies, or can I switch it off and the Field Test will run without me seeing and being able to normally access the hidden/system folders?
tecnologo81 16th May 2008, 11:22 the second!

Yes, that's it ! He has to search the files that are beginning with FT !
But I think that we'll need the entire Z drive : it's better for us (because we'll know in which folders to put the "new" files, that are not present on E60 FTD list), and it's more easyer for him ! He just has to copy the entire Z (33Mb, or something like this) on his MemoryCard, and then we'll search the files.

chribok 16th May 2008, 16:55 Fhew... copying the whole Zed takes a lot of time, still on the beginning of the copy progress... I guess it will have to wait after the weekend  My dude has got his phone on the charger now and is copying the stuff from Z-drive to a folder on his memory card, but it's really slow and he can't use his phone... which is a bitch, because he's a field technician and anytime he might get called up by someone to go out somewhere

CONNEX 17th May 2008, 00:27 Confirm : Nokia N95 with last Firmware (v. 21) => DON'T WORK
chribok 17th May 2008, 01:21 Hey guys. The two archives are from the same phone. The first archive was created when searching for "ftd" files, the second one while searching "f" files and manual selection of "ftd" files. Still, they are from the same phone. Consider the fact, that the phone is 200km from me, the colleague of mine has other things to do, than to copy the silly Z drive for me, so I'm not able to answer all your questions immediately. Hopefully on monday, max. tuesday, I'll have another colleague of mine bring me his N95NN, which I will put aside and let it copy the whole Z drive to a memory card. Than I'll be able to post the zip file with all the files from the Z drive here, tell you the product codes, whatever you want to know... so that's all I can say now. We stopped copying the files on my other colleagues phone, which he needed to use and got unusable of course, while the huge amount of small files was being copied onto his memory card. We did cancel the copying after my other colleague promised me to bring over his N95NN, which he's not using because of having an N95 8GB. That's it for now, for today and for the weekend, sorry I can't help any faster, but we're... how to say... kind of working hard, and busy here :???:
tecnologo81 17th May 2008, 04:59 No problem! Thanks a lot!
nexass 17th May 2008, 05:49 Confirm : Nokia N95 with last Firmware (v. 21) => DON'T WORK
it's the same on n95-2 whit 15.xx firmware :(
on euro1 n95-1 v21 if i edit either 1 or both .dat file to 0kb it loads but never finishes, with both .dat at 0kb it loads but not finish just hang or if either .dat is left intact and other 0kb does the same , thinking maybe info in those files specific to phone or region thus prevents other phones finish loading config.

chribok 17th May 2008, 17:47 And yeah, the phones we're using are Euro 3 I guess... these ones are for the Czech/Slovak/Hungarian/Polish market... :oops2:
BTW looking at the name and contents of the two .dat files, I would say that might be some logs my colleague has made. Also the naming convention of the files might mean something with w15 and w41, as week 15 and week 41... maybe I'm wrong, but I think those files are useless for us...
CONNEX 17th May 2008, 18:53 And yeah, the phones we're using are Euro 3 I guess... these ones are for the Czech/Slovak/Hungarian/Polish market... :oops2:
No, I don't think they have an EURO3 N95, because in this case, when they upgrade the Firmware, NSU (Nokia Software Update) won't know that there is an NTM FW (FW with Netmonitor enabled) so it will update with the general EURO3 Firmware... without Netmonitor !

Yes, but if you completely delete these 2 files, Netmonitor doesn't even launch !!
And I have the impression that these 2 DAT files contain exactly the same things (they have exactly the same size, and when you open them with NotePad on PC it seems to be the same characters).

I really don't see where you're heading to, with your sarcastic and really stupid, ungrateful answers. Grow up, dear young boy, and learn to appreciate someone's help, or trial to help. I don't know what is you all-day activity, but I'm working, my colleagues also, and we really don't have time to sit down and do the crap with all our mobiles around. I was promised to have a Netmonitor phone for a couple of days, then I'll copy the whole Z drive till I have it all and that's it, I don't have to cancel the copy progress because of needing to call someone from that phone. When we started the copy progress on one of the phones, it took like forever and the colleague of mine could not use his phone to WORK! So stop this crap or I swear I'll give a shit about you and will communicate with CONNEX and the tecnoblabla guy through IM. alb3530 18th May 2008, 21:43 chribok, thank you for your efforts.
You can say to your friend to copy Z drive to C (phone memory), instead memory card.
It's a lot faster.
Tell him to copy Z files to C:\data\attachments\ .Then, you can easily use PC suite (for example) and copy files from C:\data\attachments\ to your PC, and finally upload.
Z drive has approx. 93 MB in size, and C drive has more than this, if you haven't installed too many applications in C, of course.
Best regards

Hey, I'll do my best when I'll have the phone, hope it'll be clean and will have lots of free space in it's memory, so that it takes me minimum time to retrieve all the data. Will come back here, when I'll have it. Till then, have fun and patience :idol:
chribok 20th May 2008, 03:04 Bad news guys, the nearest colleague of mine, who was supposed to bring me the phone, ran away from the idea of giving me his phone. I guess he thinks it's kind of an experiment and it would break his phone. Which of course, I tried to explain to him, that is only a stupid read-copy mode of operation, but tell the guy when he don't want to listen... the other thing is, that we tried to look for any "ft" files on the C drive with the other colleague (the further one) and he found nothing on drive C, and on drive Z, he only found the files which I have already posted here... so now I really don't know, how to take further steps, because copying the whole drive is not going to happen, as my colleague has many applications installed, user data, etc., so it's not that comfortable to do any "difficult" operation with his phone... we'll still try to copy somehow the whole Z-drive somewhere faster than the memory card, but it will take some time I guess. Sorry :sorry:

alb3530 20th May 2008, 19:04 I have an original N95 with Netmonitor, if you have patience to tomorrow, just the time to hack my phone, and I post whatever you want.
Sorry for my bad English, and I hope to help you.
What we need is both C and Z drives.
My advice:
-create a Backup from phone memory in memory card.
Before proceeding, a small clarification, as i've already faced a situation where the person thought i wanted to "steal" his personal data:
When you create a Backup from phone memory in memory card, the backup file is stored in memory card, at E:\backup\backup.arc , and one of the steps you'll see below is formatting the phone (therefore deleting everything from C drive). Then DON'T think that, when copying all files from C drive, you'll be posting your contacts, email passwords, and other personal data for everyone.
By formatting the phone, every personal data you had is deleted.
No personal data from you will be available in C drive's files after phone is formatted, and in no moment, i'll ask for files from your memory card.
Your data will return back only in the LAST step, that's restoring the backup from memory card.
It's E:\backup\backup.arc that holds your personal data.
If your already have some knowledge about how Symbian OS works, just discard this clarification and go ahead.
-make sure your PC has Nokia PC suite installed 6.85 (or older, as newer versions are told not to allow phone hacking)
-format the phone.
To do it, turn the phone on while holding these 3 keys:
* (star) + green (send) + 3 (numeric key)
-Now follow the procedure to hack the phone, and copy all folders and files from Z drive's root to some place, preferably C:\data\attachments\Z\ (create the folders "attachments" and "Z", as they might not exist).Once the phone was formatted, C drive will have enough space to store all files of Z drive.
Tip: use X-plore, but MAKE SURE phone is hacked, so that you can access "sys" and "private" directories with X-plore.
-After having copied everything to C:\data\attachments\Z\ , connect phone to your PC and copy all files and folders from C:\data\attachments\Z\ to your PC.Now you have all files and folders from Z in your PC.
-Zip everything in a single file, upload it to some server, and post here the link for download
-Delete the folder C:\data\attachments\Z\ in your phone, to release space for the next task.
-Important step: open FieldTest application.Wait for it to load the configuration. Now close the application.
-repeat the same procedures you've done before for Z drive, but copying files from C drive instead.
I mean:
-Make sure phone is hacked, and copy all folders and files from C drive's root to some place, preferably C:\data\attachments\C\ (create the folders "attachments" and "C", as they might not exist).Once the phone was formatted, C drive will have enough space to store all files.

The backup phone makes never failed here. The only backup i have problems with is the one from Nokia PC suite.
If you really want to share the FTD, you have no other choice. If you don't format the phone, your personal data can come with system files of C drive, and probably you wouldn't want it to be available for everyone.

CONNEX 21st May 2008, 02:22 I have another choise, because I have a N73, and I want to know if ftd run on it.
Normally, it SHOULD NOT run on your N73, because every FTD version is specific for the phone model (E60 FTD doesn't work on N95 or oters models, for exalmple).

Only to make sure, you hacked your phone and included "sys" and "private" folders, right?
Next, you can do it when you have time:

Tip: use X-plore, but MAKE SURE phone is hacked, so that you can access "sys" and "private" directories with X-plore.
-After having copied everything to C:\data\attachments\C\ , connect phone to your PC and copy all files and folders from C:\data\attachments\C\ to your PC.Now you have all files and folders from C in your PC.
-Zip everything in a single file, upload it to some server, and post here the link for download
-restore backup, to have your phone as it was before.
The purpose of it is trying to get some file created somewhere at C drive (phone memory) by netmonitor
Best regards
CONNEX 21st May 2008, 18:24 OK, my Z drive is downloadable from

phil2234 21st May 2008, 19:22 oh i can't w8 to hv net monitor on my cell. Cumon guys.
CONNEX 21st May 2008, 20:45 Someone (from thid forum I think) released a SIS file, for the NTD installation.
Of course, it doesn't work.
399016
The readme file :
This installation file contains the FTD-related files from a Nokia N95 that has FTD pre-installed in the Z drive.
To install this file, you need to have SymbianX root certificate installed in your device.
The application crashes (KERN-EXEC 3) some seconds after you have tried to open it, halfway during configuration loading.
In my guess, it's related to the .dat files found in C:/resource/apps/ :
ftdata_wk15_07.dat and ftdata_wk41_06.dat
It's all that's available so far.
Thanks to chribok for the FTD files.
jarbamare 22nd May 2008, 16:41 O.K. people ... do you really believe that "Z drive" is from N95 with NetMonitor?!?
Are you really guys believe to this members who make only fake promises about POSTING TOMORROW and nothing else?
If i remember well, @srcrom say:
I have an original N95 with Netmonitor, if you have patience to tomorrow ...
This man knows how to use NetMonitor, know that NetMonitor is inbuilt in firmware, BUT he don't know how to extract that files beside very clear tutorial on the previously pages?!?
Dorinel 22nd May 2008, 16:43 hi! does anybody have a product code for n95 whit field test included?
jarbamare 22nd May 2008, 16:44 Can you post screenshots from you N95 with netmonitor enabled ...
Mr. srcrom, [U]where is that screenshot from N95 with enabled NetMonitor?!?
You say that you have original N95 with Netmonitor??????
SCREENSHOTS?!?!?!?
hi! does anybody have a product code for n95 whit field test included?
Why don't you ask mr. srcrom, this is our main hacker here!

ok...so I think we should search for a product code from a n95 whit field test on it...and then to make the "debrand" procedure ....to see what happens...
if anyone finds this product code pls post it here!tnks!
CONNEX 22nd May 2008, 18:35 N95 with FTD enabled | Z Drive
RAPIDSHARE (http://rapidshare.com/files/116781727/N95-FTD-Zdrive.zip)
MEGAUPLOAD (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UGKZERCF)
Here is the full "hacked" (capsON) Z Drive from a Nokia N95 with FTD enabled. Nothing seems to be missing.
Thanks to bore11, from GSMHosting forum (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=250818&page=36).
And here, only the FTD (FT*.*) files : RAPIDSHARE (http://rapidshare.com/files/116782120/N95_FTD_Files.zip)
Of course, these FTD files are exactly the same files as the ones given by Cribok.
And of course, it's still NOT working on my N95 8GB.
jarbamare 22nd May 2008, 18:52 CONNEX, do you realy believe that this man bore11 uploaded "Z" drive from N95?
Maybe this is files from E60 drive only named like "N95", who knows that for shure?
Why we must all the time gues something here???????
If this man bore11 or Cribok or, .... uploaded N95 files, where is than product code, where is one single SCREENSHOT?
CONNEX 22nd May 2008, 19:02 Maybe this is files from E60 drive only named like "N95", who knows that for shure?
Yes, it's an N95 Z drive : the FTD files from E60 Z drive (that we already have) are not the same !
And on THIS Z drive, in Z/Resource/Versions, we can find these informations :
Nokia N95 (20.02)
V 11.0.026\n17-04-07\nRM-159\nN95(c)NMP
This is 100% a Nokia N95
I don't have the Product Code yet, because I didn't asked him for that. But now, I've asked bore11 for it. :)
Why we must all the time gues something here???????
Because we don't have any other choice.
Dorinel 22nd May 2008, 19:07 if it works for somebody pls let us know
jarbamare 22nd May 2008, 19:19 Thanx for info CONNEX, now we can presume that old N95 firmware have NetMonitor inbuilt and for some reason it have been removed in new versions ...
Must say: "well known Nokia practice since first S60 phone." :(
Let,s hope then that someone will find a way to use this application from 11.0.026 firmware and make it working on new ones from "C" drive.
CONNEX 22nd May 2008, 22:30 ...now we can presume that old N95 firmware have NetMonitor inbuilt and for some reason it have been removed in new versions ...
Hmm... so you think that it's "Firmware dependent" ?
Yes, why not. They have already done this at least on Nokia 6600. :suicide:
Dorinel 22nd May 2008, 22:42 but the product code?can somebody post a product code from a n95 whit FTD installed pls?
CONNEX 22nd May 2008, 23:15 Yes, I'm trying to obtain this info from bore11 (the user who has posted the N95 Z drive).
But as I've already said on Softpedia :), it would be too simple to obtain Netmon with this method. :|
jarbamare 22nd May 2008, 23:19 I think product code cannot help us much in this case, because it cannot back firmware to the previous version.
If this application was present only in first firmware versions than ...
CONNEX 22nd May 2008, 23:37 Maybe something new ?!
On SymbianFreak Forum (http://www.symbian-freak.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=235840#235840), someone says that we need some other files :
c : \ p r i v a t e \ 1 0 2 8 2 4 C 7 \ F i e l d T e s t D a t a B a s e . d b
C : \ r e s o u r c e \ a p p s \ f t f i l t e r . t x t

Files from the C drive !!?

Hi,
Just take a look at these files and tell me if Nemo handy is the same as Nokia FTD; with nemo handy you can get all TEMS Investigation functionalities (with 1G SD you can collect about 100 hours of measurements )

Hi,
I have TEMS also (normal TEMS investigation and TEMS Pocket), but as you can see Nemo interface is much better than TEMS one, also as you know Nokia mobiles sensitivity is much much better than SE phones.
Anyway I was wondering if we can extract NEMO handy V2.5 from an original NEMO phone, that's all.
