My steps for my GO910:

1. Backed up entire contents of TomTom's hard drive to PC
2. Deleted everything on TomTom's hard drive
3. Copied #1 'Basic Pack without ASR and ttsystem' to TomTom
4. Copied #5 'gox10 with Display & slow TTS Problem x30 Emu' to TomTom
5. Restarted TomTom - got 'Cant mount Flash and no alternative Flashdirectory found' - restarted

At this point, my screen orientation got messed up, like someone had flipped the touchscreen upside down. Horizontal positions are OK but vertical positions were in different spots.

6. Powered TomTom back up and connected to computer again
7. Deleted everything on TomTom again and restored to saved backup
8. Copied ttn file from #5 to TomTom and rebooted (touchscreen back to normal)
9. Connected to computer again and confirmed that Flash directory is now on device
10. Deleted everything from TomTom hard drive EXCEPT for Flash directory
11. Copied 1 + 5 back to TomTom root directory (NOT Flash directory)
12. Restarted TomTom - got 'no maps found' (correct, no map copied yet, touchscreen working properly now) - reconnected to PC
13. Copied V715 map over and cracked with new v8 easytool
14. Good to go! :)

Device tested on: Tomtom One XL using 1 GB external SD Card
Installation: New versions 1, 3, LoquendoTTS (old - small and big Kate and new ) and v7 map (with and without cspeech file)

Results:

1. with map v7 no cspeech file: Slow menu navigation, TTS not working - then device froze.
2. with v7 map + cspeech file: menu navigation okay, TTS not working, device reboots after switching off even with poweroff file installed.
3. As above, with LoquendoTTS deleted, installed human voice (Jane) in Voices folder - device worked.
4. As above - mp3 does not work.
5. as above - bluetooth headset not tested yet...

(a) 1, 2 & 8 plus poweroff file on root, system works fine, no error message, MP3 and TTS WORKS ONLY IF SPEAKER Preferences IS SET TO BLUETOOTH, reboots after switching off device.
(b) 1, 3 & 8 plus poweroff file on root, system works fine, no error message, MP3 and TTS WORKS ONLY IF SPEAKER Preferences IS SET TO BLUETOOTH, reboots after switching off device.

TTUser, maybe a little bit of revision/addition on the code, TTS and MP3 will output to Internal Speaker.

Re-installed to newly formatted (using Panasonic SD Card formatter) 2 GB SD-Card on Tomtom One XL device.

(a) Files 1, 2 and 8 - are working fine except TTS (available ram 12.4 mb)
(b) Files 1, 3 and 8 - are working fine except TTS (available ram 12.4 mb)
(c) Files 1, 5 and 8 - are working fine except TTS (available ram 12.4 mb)
(d) Files 1 & 6 and 1 & 7 100% worked fine. (available ram 12.2 mb)
(e) Tomtom One XL reboots after switching off once, twice. Turns off after the third switch off.
(f) Running in Save RAM Mode is the best upgrade TTuser has come up with :urtheman:

1. Strange BUT True, the above installation is based on the fact that the existing v7.162 on the SD Card is overwritten by the NEW Navcore SE 8.002.9117 and the damn thing WORKED.
2. NOW, formatting the the SD Card using Windows XP (FAT32) and copying the items 1, 2 or 3 and the ASR, TTS files, the system freezes at voice selection point.

3. Just reformat the sd card using Panasonic SD Card Formatter (FAT) and recopy the files, and the damn thing still freezes. :sorry:

Verdict: Navcore SE 8.002.9117 DOES NOT WORK on Tomtom One XL (512mb internal memory) Device....

Success on go 920.
Installed 1+3+ASR on memory card.
Everything works including remote and traffic over GPRS.
Got problem downloading anything in plus services.
When I try to download Quick GPS fix following occurs:
1. My go downloading the file itself (100%)
2. When it try to do something with it there is following error message:
Script error.
Do you want to continue?

I've tried to download color scheme, map - the same error. Unit download something and when give me script error.
What shall I do to fix it?

i tried 4 or 5, but both don't work (screen messed up, can't find maps)

Mate u have done an excellent job. tis is exactly i had in my mind. rather than saying it works on my device. its better to post the files actually worked. there by every one else having the same device knows exactly the file needed to get it working. its a suggestion to all mods, doing this way is much much better for people to get things working.

Hi people,

I've tested almost every posted options available in here. This last new one from XLman seems to be very good. Does anyone confirm if this goes for a TomTom ONE V2 too? I'm currently using NAVCORE 7.221 with success (with TTS and witout any other sounds, as known issues).

- NAVCORE 8 seems much faster and better in a whole. Just need to know if navigating to an address still hangs the device, as if I take the speech files from the map it starts but crashes when navigating to somewhere!!! If I put the files the device will not start anymore. Hard resets didn't do anything against this...

- My Device (TOMTOM ONE V2 NEW EDITION (V4))

Thanks in advance. If this works for XL it may work for ONEs too or?

I have a question. What the TTN file ?
I use it because I have the message "Cant mount Flash......" when i would use the last TTsystem file (X30) for my go 910.

at first boot, a new directory appear named "Flash".
What the "Flash" directory ? a backup of flash boot of my GO910 ?

Can delete it Without risk ?

Hi TTuser. Used the original navcore 8 on my go920T. Everything works fine. But can you give the option to choose the drive back in your Runme for*.cmd, because it now tries to patch my cardreaderdrives and my extra flashmemorycard in the 920.

Only thing wich didn't work well, was to patch de dll. I ran the Runmeforallautomatic.cmd, it responded "dll now patched" but in TTHome it keeps on saying the activation was not correct.

Anyway, in my car everything works OK.

Can you it explain more what you mean? I know not what you need. The "auto select Drive" use not correct Drive for you? It search a Drive with a ttsystem, exist only 1 use it this, exist more see you the "enter driveletter screen" create a empty file ttsystem on the Drive what you need and it found 2 and ask you to enter on.

First time I used the new command, in Vista it gave first a few messages about exceptions (no drive) and after that when I restarted the go920 it gave a start up error that the interal memory was bad and refused to start.

After clearing my flash memory with TomTom's clear_flash.exe and copying the original navcore8 to the device, I patched with the tools from march 6 and everything worked fine again. :D

I patched the original navcore 8 ttsystem. Don't know if it patched the ttsystem-file or tried to patch something on my extra memorycard, but after the patching it didn't start up showing animated icons of a sd-card with a red cross.

I can try to reproduce the fault if you wish (I''l take the risk..;))

I've made it in order of GeeCee's description - also thanx to GeeCee.
Got a bluetooh remote control today and that pice works also perfect on my go910...

OK, these are my drives (I work on a laptop)
C: internal harddisk
D: Memorystick reader (empty)
E: SD/MMC reader (empty
F: DVD station (empty)
H: DVD station (virtal) (empty)
I: External Harddisk (USB)
J: SD card go920
N: Internal Memory g0920

I copied the original navcore8.002.9117 for gox30 to N:

Restart the go920 standalone. It starts up en tells me map activation for my patched western and central europe map (715.1703) was wrong.

Attached the go to my laptop and on N: is a file ttsystem, made ‎"vrijdag ‎28 ‎maart ‎2008, ‏‎14:11:32" and 6.248.306 bytes.

Start RunMeforAllAutmatic, option 2.

CMD comes with: "Aivalable drives with a ttsystem:

Error messages (two times) popup:

Windows - Geen schijf (No drive)

After that CMD found ttsystem on my N: drive and tells me OK! ttsystem patched en copied to N:

nothing wrong, normal startup and reads the map correctly!

So TTuser, I'm sorry, can't reproduce faillure. Error messages are I think from the empty memorycardreaders.

Hi Alne,

I saw you used the files from the first post in this thread. Can't you try to restore your backup with the navcore 7 to the tt920 (including ASR and loquendo stuff, just a complete backup restore) and then install the original navcore8 files. The 920 and 930 are the same hardware. I had no problem installing the original files. Then use Easyusetools from TTuser to patch ttsystem and your map. Quickgps download via TThome went fine and even Mapshare works! :wave:

I did the same. I also copied the original TT navcore 8.002.9117.x30.cab over my last updated navcore 7.481.9086 on my TT Go 720T.

I think you don´t have now the new x30-look and more mapcorrections.

When you want so, copy TTuser´s http://rapidshare.com/files/106656241/ttsystem.8.002.9117.only.for.x20.to.emux30.rar (already patched) over your existing ttsystem (V8) on your Go 920.

Lane and IQ aren´t still there. I think later on after another modifications and V8xx Maps.

can anybody tell me if this works on a tomtom go 700. Have new maps.
new bootversion. tried several things. every time my tomtom freezes when i want to navigate to a adress or city.

would like simple explanation please my english is not so good

It does work well on my TT700 without problem with TTuser option 1 and 3. Except for the IQ and Lane all is OK. In fact my TT start much faster and does calculate route faster as well. I am happy. Meantime I am waiting for the new V8 maps. Hope it helped.

(a) 1, 2 & 8 plus poweroff file on root, system works fine, no error message, MP3 and TTS WORKS ONLY IF SPEAKER Preferences IS SET TO BLUETOOTH, reboots after switching off device.
(b) 1, 3 & 8 plus poweroff file on root, system works fine, no error message, MP3 and TTS WORKS ONLY IF SPEAKER Preferences IS SET TO BLUETOOTH, reboots after switching off device.

TTUser, maybe a little bit of revision/addition on the code, TTS and MP3 will output to Internal Speaker.

TTuser i tried 1+3 on my tomtom go 500 and it works fine. But the navigate to address freezing starts as soon as i copy sounds to my tomtom. can u please look at why it start freezing when the voices are added.

Hi TTuser,

I've noticed that not only people with ONEs but also people with GOs are having trouble navigating to everyplace, but to Postcodes. I myself have a ONE V2 and I heard a 1000 times it doesn't work... but what about GO510! The map I have is the IBERIA 715.1703 patched and running perfectly along with TTS (Amalia and Eusebio) in Navcore 7.221 SE (after being people telling that TTS would never work with ONEs... lol). Its a matter of testing and testing... I can see you digg this much more than everyone else. Something in the Cspeechxxx.dat files is conflicting with devices making them freeze and reboot. if you take them out, you won't start the device...it hangs!

Also to people who see the new NAVCORE 8 only to 400mhz GOS... forget it. Lane driving is just a damn image with the arrows blinking... what an evolution. lol take ASUS R700 or 300. that's a damn revolution!!! Anyway I think that NAV 8 will work on all tomtoms... let's give it tries...

TTS is now working. Copied the files from tts.rar to my go710 and then copied over the LoquendoTTS folder from the basicpack. It seemed that I missed a file in the LoquendoTTS\lib\ folder, but that's fixed now and Saskia is back in business now...

As a normal tomtom user what we can do is test it and tell the gurus... about the behaviour and some one can fix the problem.

As a normal tomtom go user. i was testing my device and found when i add the voice, the system starts hanging up.

So i was trying to pass that message to you, by which if you can come up with any alteration to to the ttsystem file, which rectify the problem so many peoples are having.

I think we could also do something like a report style: having the model and describing what is working and what isn't. This way we can help the people to work on it specifically... of course people must test every possible way posted by TTuser, for instance who is doing a great job.

however the problem I reported is common for a lot of devices... next step? mp3, TTS and voices working along together ;)... that would be nice

Last note, PLEASE make sure that in Manage POIs/Warn when near POI option to delete the associated human voices and Beeps.

tried, but no luck. tts still not working. haven't tried the mp3. i use big dave tts. which tts do you use ttonexman? if it english, i might use the same as yours, as i prefer to have tts. if this tts works, i have to delete human voices and beep? so there is no way i can use beep for driving than the speed allowed?

Everything seems to work fine on my 910.
Only one thing, I can't change the car-icon. The device says: car-icon changed, but the icon doesn't change. It's still the blue arrow.
And yes, I have several icons on my device.
Anyone know the solution?

This requested i since 1000 years, only Problem no one do it or it simple not able to do it!

Car Icon works, you can it of course only see in 3D, same how in all other Version.

Ok TTuser, I'll post a "report" kind of thing for you to know exactly what needs to be checked:

Model: TomTom ONE V2 - NEW EDITION - EUROPE EDITION (1GB Internal Memory) SD Card Reader

Previous working Navcores tested: 7.162, 7.221

Maps used: 675.1430 IBERIA NAVTEQ, 715.1703 IBERIA TELEATLAS

OBS.: TTS worked on CORE 7.221

Common Issues: No MP3 or normal sound on cores above 7.221. No TTS before this version.

Issues found on NAVCORE 8:
- mp3 or normal sound (NOT WORKING)
- Pictures OK, Text OK, Audiobooks (NOT TESTED)
- TTS tested with files from all versions (NOT WORKING)
- Navigation issues. When placing cspeech files on the map, the device will not start or boot, hanging and restarting by itself. When taking the files, device starts normally and fast, but navigating to street, city freezes and device restarts.
- Caricon OK (3D MODE ONLY AS STATED HERE)
- Bootloader 5.500 OK
- ttsystems used. tried all from 8.002 available.

OBS ON NAVCORE 8:
- The original works 100% but has no features like caricon or mp3 or pictures. It is standard and basic version. Also no information guides in help menu. these can have them with version 7.221

I have the tomtom go710 used the v7 se fantastic great job but i cannot get the Navcore SE 8.002.9117 to work boot up and touch is all screwed up and basically get no further tried everything any ideas.

1. i have formatted card done base / 3 /5 /7 /8 tried all ttsystems alll have the same issue with screen touch out of sync

3 restore from backup an overwritten existing files no luck

Worked for me. search and read, others got TT1 working, test it out with your SD card.
i used the Orignal cab files, and patched the ttsystem with the easy tool..
the patched ttsystem files I found here doesn't work on my ttone.
just copy and paste, but freezes and reboots.. ohh I know.. must be too dumb to copy and paste:hahaha2::hahaha2:

yeahh Dusti, we do know that works, but the original NAVCORE8 doesn't have automatic zoom options or TTS or the features we do seek! i got that too working... that's pretty easy, but no advanced options!!! it is the standard thing... not even pictures or text reader it has...

we are looking for a way to get the features that our ONES could have and still do not...

I had a fully working version of 7.162.8641 on my TomTom Rider V2.

I copied over 1. and 3. and it works a dream (well, I used it to guide me in the car this morning)! I also seem to get a much faster fix. Thanks TTUser!

Still can't get the bloody thing to connect to my Nokia N95 properly. It will connect, but can't download the phonebook properly (downloads 260 contacts and freezes, eventually giving up with NO entries imported. Maybe it only has a limited space for phonebook entries and I have too many?!) I also can't use the data connection for some reason. I'm on O2 in the UK.

[I haven't tried my Scala headset yet. I suspect I'll use HiFi Bluetooth output somehow and if it doesn't work with the headset then I will do without!]

Yup for this people who cant get all the features working on ur tomtom please do a testing and post the detailed report. so that some of our Gurus can look at it do something to get all features working on all models.

BY INSTALLED MAP WITH CSPEECH
If i have installed the map 715.1703 with cspeech_*.dat then after boot
the display freeze in the moment when the icon TomTom Hand is seeing.
After a moment then TT boot alone.

NOT INSTALLED THIS FILES
If i have NOT installed the cspeech_*.dat in the directory of my map then after boot the display going on to loading the map. The new menu is looking like, but in the moment when i want to navigate a adress with the icon adress, display freeze. After a moment the TT boot alone.
Only the funktion navigate to point of card, or favorites is going to perfekt navigation.

I think, TTUSER have doen good works but in his SE-Versions is a bug for looking cspeech by all Version doing on a TT One V2
Also a bug by working with the option navigate by all Versions "SE-NO TTS" on a TT One V2.

Only the original ttsystems works, but there i haven`t the sweety menus

Please TTUSER can you looking for this and make a newest version?

Wenn i put my TomTom in the carholder, it will popup with a message that it will reboot in x seconds, or could it be a other problem with the carholder or somethink like that ..

someone else have this problem ?

It´s your carholder or the power cable.
Try this out
Go in settings/batterie saving preferences and disabled "switch off when external power ist lost".
Connect your tt with your carholder an show if your problem fixed

I installed new Navcore on my 710. And it worked!

Go710
App: 8.002
BS: 3024
Boot: 4.860
Map: V710

Navigation, ASR, TTS, TMC all OK.

Issues:
- This Version don't like my Mapsettings.cfg. No Favs, no last destinations.

- TMC: I have the same probs as with the last versions: after booting the device without TMC the device had probs to recognize the TMC. Have to reboot serveral times..

Thanks to all for that great work...and wait for new maps to test the new features.

I´m from Germany, sorry for my bad english
my 720 is dead. I´ve installed original Version x30 and ttsystem only for x20 to Emu. x30. I´ve update tts, helpme and so on, from my backup. I didn´t overwrite any file from the original fw x30
My 720 works very fine but suddenly after 6 reboots my tt is dead. No connect to computer and it doesn´t start. Only the green lamp is on. On my 920 are the same files like on the 720 and it works very fine without any problem. I´ve installed the files for one week ago on my 920. Did anyone knows what goes wrong with my 720?

yippie, I´ve fixed it!!!! I´ve connected my TT with my Car Cable in my car and made a reset. Now my TT works. With my usb cable I can´t make a reset. I think there is not enough power in it.

I have the error 'Cant mount flash' on my GO 710 after installing navcore 8.

According to the documentation I need to perform some steps and at the end there will be a new directory 'flash'.

Is this 'flash' directory unique for each device or can I copy it from another device? Is someone so kind to upload a rar file with this directory?

Plz correct me if I'm wrong.

With each original Navcore have you only the Features what your Device original have. You can only have TTS if you emulate a Device what original have TTS 910,x20,x30,xls. Who have a xls here?

yes i know thats your choice. dont worry. thanks for your work anyway. your hint was the right. i thought tt home does not download any .dll with your SE.

now i got it and patched it. everything runs with 710 and option 5.

i only have sometimes the problem that if i click in brightness menu that if i click that he should make it darker if the light goes low that he cannot go back to full brightness.

another effekt is that he says that he does not have the selected voice after leaving tthome with patched dll.

everything else runs fast and smooth. only map 8 is missing now.

NO with each original Navcore receive you only what your Device original have. Your Device have no TTS == no TTS.

This no Voice after use Home, happens also with 7.48 and with original, no Problem from this Version here.

I have a problem and I do not know how to solve it!!

My TMC Traffic receiver connected to my Go 510 works with version 7.221 but with version navcore 8 not!!!

In navcore 8 always is searching for a radio station and never finds anything, however in navcore 7 it works perfect!! it finds a radio station without any problem..

Does anyone know why?

Unfortunatly it does not work with GO 700
It used 1+3
After starting the GO 700 seems to work. I can see the new menu style. The settings menu ist working correct. Sat fix is there, so the GO 700 locates the current position.
But when i push the button to navigate to an adress, the GO 700 hangs up and makes a reboot and after that still no navigation is possible.

same problem with 1+2 on my GO 700.

Try to copy your ASR folder from a previous navcore 7 backup to your 910, at least it worked for me, but i have to tell you my device is a 720.

I tried everything and it is not working !!!

Which version of TMC you have? mine is v4.00.000 (first version released TomTom) maybe this is the problem!!

I've read in some places that the first version was a bad product with a lot of problems!! and maybe in navcore 8 is not supported anymore!!!

It ss happening to me the same problem like one of the first versions of navcore 7 released Zibri... that later was solved it by Trufi...

I was surprised how difficult it was to get this working so I have written a howto for x10 models ... this means you should not need to search through 50 or more pages to get things going. Maybe there should be a link to this post from the main page.

This is how I installed this on my 910 (should also work on the 710 etc.)

Back your TomTom up before you start.

Download files 1, 3 & 5
If you would like voice input then also download the "ASR Folder for Voice Input"
Unzip them all
Connect TomTom to PC and exit TomTom Home
Go to the TomTom (probably E: or F: ) and erase all files EXCEPT for maps and voices
Copy the following to your TomTom:

The main contents of file 1 (bin, gns, LoquendoTTS etc.)
The ASR Folder if you want voice input
ttsystem and "\If you get a Errormessage\ttn" from file 3

Create an empty file called "poweroff" in the root folder of your TomTom
Use safely remove hardware to remove TomTom from your PC
Do not restart TomTom yet ... it will attempt to start and it is important that you wait
If you get the message "Can't mount flash" then perform a hard reboot by pushing a paper clip into the reset hole at the back of the TomTom
Start TomTom and you "might" be good to go.

If the touch screen is out of sync then perform the following steps:

Connect TomTom back up to your PC and exit TomTom Home
Erase the Flash folder from your TomTom
Copy the files ttsystem and "\If you get a Errormessage\ttn" from file 5 to your TomTom
Use safely remove hardware to remove TomTom from your PC
Do not restart TomTom yet and it will attempt to start and it is important that you wait
If you get the message "Can not mount flash" then perform a hard reboot by pushing a paper clip into the reset hole at the back of the TomTom
Start TomTom and you are good to go.

At this point I copied the contents of my LoquendoTTS Folder from my old TomTom backup to the LoquendoTTS folder on my TomTom as this contains the computer generated voices.

Also go to TomTom Home and download the car symbols etc that you want.

I've done many an upgrade using [cracked] TomTom software.
At least 4-5 with various PPC upgrades with my Axim X51V

And, since i've puchased a 720 , i've managed to upgrade [with just a few minor issues] numerous maps and several hacks. No problem, I can indeed read and comprehend properly written directions.

I've hit a wall with this Navcore 8 upgrade.
50 plus pages [in this thread] and i've yet to see a properly prepared tutorial. I do indeed understand there's a language barrier and somtimes misunderstandings come from mis-translations. It'll be nice when somone does
a detailed step-by-step tutorial installing the Nav8. [for the 720]

I've got files:
navcore_8.002.9117.gox30
ttsystem.8.002.9117.only.for.x20.to.emux30

Problem is, yet to figure out if I first need to do a clean install on internal memory. Then exactly what and in what order do i execute the above 2 files.

Just too many unanswered questions to risk messing up a fully functional 720 using 7.481 w/7.15 maps.

I recently bought a GO920T which had V7.221 firmware which I upgraded via HOME to V7.481. I then did the map guarantee update via HOME and then a full backup of the 4GB internal memory but not via HOME.

I bought an 8GB SDHC card for additional maps and audio files and replaced the V7.481 ttsystem file in the root with the x20 map-patched version to get the new maps to work.

Following that I updated to V8.002 by overwriting only the files in the root directory from the "navcore_8.002.9117.gox30" archive and then replacing the ttsystem file from the "ttsystem.8.002.9117.only.for.x20.to.emux30" archive.

It all works fine apart from one problem that I still haven't resolved and that is that navigate to using voice recognition only works with the original maps even though the additional ones are the latest V715 TTS maps - the voice command option is missing. When I switch back to the original WACE V715 map the voice recognition option returns.

This happened also with the map-patched V7.481 firmware so is not unique to V8.002.

I don't see this as a showstopper as everything else works.

If anyone knows of a solution though please post it.

I've followed your instructions exactly for my GO920 but when I switch to the hacked TTS map and do "Navigate to" then "Address" the two Spoken Address options are greyed out. If I switch back to the original WACE non-hacked TTS map they return.

One thing that I noticed is that after I initially updated the WACE V710 map to V715.1703 via the HOME map guarantee option a new "map" folder was created in the root with a ".tlv" file in it for the new WACE715.1703 map. There's obviously no ".tlv" file for the hacked map. Is this of any consequence?

eccept that i think there are more differances between the versions than just the looks

This Message was not always in all ttsystem inside.

Its simple and short,example, of course need you for TTS with older Devices the other files from basicpack, the original for x20,x30 Voices works not.

Voice Input works for me with all Maps, all Versions.

The same thing happens on my GO700. Could it be a problem with the hacked UK&ROI715.1703 map which I downloaded from RS ? It contains cspeech files etc.

I used those exact same instructions on 2 910s and everything worked perfectly on both.

Both had the offset touchscreen before switching the ttsystem and reflashing.

If you give me more constructive feedback I can amend the howto appropriately.

I am a dev that is also a MSI packager so I was thinking of creating a package to save people the trouble but if there is a mistake I would need to know what.

I've now tried all versions of V8 ttsystem except the noTTS versions.

I've copied the GBR and IRL cspeech files from the W&CE715.1703 map folder to the UK&ROI715.1703 map folder.

I've tried previous TTS versions of the UK&ROI map.

In all cases the navigate to spoken address options are greyed out but only when hacked maps are selected. Also when setting up the quickmenu the spoken address option is missing from the list. It works perfectly if I select either of the two non-hacked maps W&CE and North America.

Just reporting;
Have a go 300. Just copied 1 and 6 to an empty SD, together with a 710.1561 map with cspeech files.
Added mp3 txt photos art and caricons and everything works.
Can use adress input due to cspeech files, when these files are missing; adress input freezes.
Also tried to use the x30 emu; gave more freezes when switching screens too fast.
The x20 emu only lacks the speedcorrection option in mapshare.
Connecting with home; no messages, just recieving mapshare updates (no poi updates)

Edit: After one day of use, during navigating and changing screens: often a frozen screen and spontaneous restart. CPU can not handle it I suppose.
Back to 7.221. Waiting for a less heavier version for my Go 300.

Under the prefernces, there are different compass settings. Maybe there is one you like.

Yes indeed, it was quite easy. I just wasn't comprehending the instructions. I also was not aware you do the entire installation on a SD card.

Everythings working [not road tested yet] as far as I know. TTS works just fine.

Last weekend I faced following problem:

automatic day/night view switching does not work anymore and instructions are separated into two or three parts with long breaks in between. voice itself is NOT slow.

These problem are new, I hadn't have them before after doing a fresh install. Resetting the Go does not help. Any idea to fix these problems? Maybe by deleting a settings file?

BTW: voice input still works fine.

configuration:
Go910 with software packs 1 and 5 plus ASR of navcore8 and original loquendo of Go910.
WCE map 715.

got TT Home 2.1.2.121 installed.

Ran the newest tools / option 3 = CAN'T FIND

And i've read in some thread wayyyyy back....that you need to manually add the DLL in program > TT > in your PC. TTuser says you don't need to add dll. He says it's automatic.

So for right now, i'm stuck getting 720 to play with TT home.

As I reported above, i have the same problem (freezing when navigating by adress) with my GO700.

So I tried the original ttsystem from Navcore8. With this ttsytem the GO700 works, no more freezing. But with the original ttsystem my GO700 behavies like a GO700, which means: no more TTS, no more changing car-icons, less possibilities for map-corrections (no speed changing, no turn changing).

Even it's very strange, that navigation works with TTUser's ttSystem to the countries of WesternEurope but not to the countries of EasternEurope, even I use the Western & Central Europe map (freezing when I tried to change the destination country e.g. to Hungary or Poland or Croatia, etc).

Thank you for your great work!
I followed step by step your instructions on my XL, but TTS still not working. I'm trying to use Italian Paola voice. I've downloaded it (Paola_6.5.3.cab) from TT site.
What i've done:

Option used: 1,3,8+poweroff on root.

1) Installed TTS files from TTS.rar folder
2) Installed Paola files
3) Installed TTS files from navcore8 basicpack.
4) Set speaker preferences to BLUETOOTH
5) Deleted beeps and human voices.
6) reboot XL

After start up i'm able to choose Paola as preferred voice but i can't hear the voice.
Please can you help me and tell where i'm wrong ?

The device worked when I install v8 over a working version 7.162 with TTS overwriting the existing files as shown in http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1944178&postcount=333.

BUT when I use a newly formatted 1GB standard SD Card and re-installed 1, 2 or 3 plus ASR, big Kate TTS, and the device just freezes on me. Tried all TTUser se_ttsystem (old and new) combinations and still nothing works.
I am starting to believe that this version plus TTS will not work on tt1xl.:afraid:

The no-tts version works fine btw.:egdance:

when connected to usb, and you respond "no" to connect to pc, it will now remain active and not shut down after 5 minutes.

Put file "noautosuspend.dat" into X:\ root folder of device.
file must contain a 1
and nothing else

If your Device freeze use the Folder "Outsourced.bin". Exist the Folder remove it the Files from RAM and use the outside exist Files. Without the Folder is all normal.

I tested your new file emux30 with my TTone First generation V2 and iwith the folder outsoursed.bin it will be the same mistake. If i navigate to a adress with number, at this moment the TTOne freeze and early after some seconds it will boot.

1: Does the folder Outsourced.bin get created by ttsystem or does the user have to create in the devices root?

2:Does the folder name have to match exact. i.e. Outsourced.bin or outsourced.bin?

3: I presume when you write "remove from RAM", ttsystem does this automatically if folder present, correct?

of course do it remove the files alone automatic, or see you somewhere a way to do it with your device, and which sense should it then make:confused::confused:

I think most copy and paste simple the complete Folder to root. And normally is it not case sensitive, i test it now extra again, and... you see short a Message at boot.

OK - here is my report - TomTom 1 classic, UK Map V715, using (3) X30, with outsourced.bin folder AND adding cspeech files to UK map folder - fixes the freeze problem for me.

Now it`s working your new ttsystem x20 or x30 with the option "Outsourced.bin"
Only the funktion JukeBox and playing a mp3 AND use navigating is too slowly and it can overloop the RAM and then automatic booting.

Can you insert this new funktion "Outsourced.bin" also in the notgox10 (without using speech and/or ASR, TTS) ?

I think, it`s better to use this because the processor from TTOne with his RAM is not adequate.

Yes, I have all cspeech.dat in map folder. Navigation works with adres navigation in state, that are have cspeech.dat. Navigation at adress e.g . Czech Republic causes freeze and restart.

I used 1 + 3 + 8 from the first page. Make sure you put the outsourced.bin folder from 1 in the root directory. This is to save the ram (which was the reason for freezing.

File 4.-7. are now also new and have the SaveRAM-Function.
Add 5 Files more to Outsourced.bin this save heavy 24,8kb more.:hehe:
If no Folder Audiobooks exist remove it the audible.so this save also heavy 67kb.

oohh yes the devices freeze because my english is poor, ok its very difficult to copy all the **** files to devices, no wonder why all need a 200%detailed Explanation in 500% correct english

Tested now all your new ttsystems... (with my TTOne V2)

Results, all clear, but there is no funktion to work with a map which doesn`t have any cspeech.dat... -navigate to an adress with number, screen freeze...

Thinking moments:
I cant believe it, that the new created Navore from TomTom only was made for Units withs Maps included cspeech*.dat!
This time there are missing many country with this cspeech*.dat into examble
Western_and_Central_Europe_715-1703. So with patched Navore 8 we can`t navigate to this countrys or an explizit adress. I tested many routes about 5.000 Miles to navigate and the mistake is most the same. If there were no scpeech for the vistit country, the desktop freeze. Is there a spezifited cspeech it can be happned that the compiled route is breaken with a mistake!

We all waiting for the meta to map V8, but i think with patched Navcore we have the same mistake as a wrote. Or we must have all CountrySpeech for this map.
In my downloaded maps i have found following scpeech*.dat.
Have anyone more ? And can anyone upload them?

You need it not if all works. You can it use without the Folder and it run all normal. I made it extra universal, or we would have 20ttsystem and this would total confuse.
could you increase the speed from 266 to 380 Mhz can i not

dont whining if does not works. Buy a x30 if you need the Features.

Hi guys,
I have been reading many post on this thread for a long time, but I only have seen people with go devices.
I have a v4 ttone (grey-black and slim) and I would like to know if I can use navcore 8, and what's the link I need. Thanx for all.

I have 2nd new edition (or V4) too. I tried and had no success. I tried with the latest files updated by TTuser, the navigation works good but no voice (normal or TTS). I tried to change the speaker setting but I still couldn't get it work.

I was thinking it has to do with the internal memory. My internal memory is using navcore 7.162 (?). Even though TT said that internal memory and SD card are separate thing, however, based on my experience it somehow relates to each other. When I created a quick menu (from patched nav 7.2xx) in my SD card, then took out the SD card and booted it from internal memory, the quick menu is showing on the 7.162. Same thing, when I changed the car icon (on nav 7.2xx), it's showing on nav 7.162 (of course you have to create "art" folder).

So, may be there is a conflict between SE 8.002 and the one in our internal memory (in my case 7.162). I think it's a bit risky replacing the nav on the internal memory with nav 8.002 (so that it's the same as the one on SD card). But, it could be the only way....Don't know....

because there are so manny update files y don't no anny more.
so if some one can tel me witch files to use a will be greatfull.
y have now working vers 8.002 (9117/080328) OS:164445 with map Western_and_CEntral_Europe v715.1703
But the problem is that y can't use the computer voices.
is there a fix for this ?
you can replay in dutchs also if possible.

I have TOMTOM GO 710 with 7.10 maps of Great Britan and have got everything working with navcore 8 at last, the only problem I am having now is that when I turn tomtom off and turn it back on again all the voices are speaking in slow motion. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so have did you fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

for x20:
Copy all from (Original) navcore_8.002.9117.gox30 to Storage
replace ttsystem with the ttsystem.8.002.9117.only.for.x20.to.emux30

for all other:
copy all from navcore_8.002.9117.gox30(or Basicpack) to Storage
replace (or add) ttsystem with one which you like 2,3,4,5,6,7

additional for x10:
Recommend to use only 4. 5.
If you then see (and only if you see) the big Message "Cant mount Flash...."
Use any other (older) Navcore Version with the ttn file which you find in "If you get a Errormessage" Folder.
Boot.
Now can you use again the Version here, and all should works.

Thank you for your posting y have one question is ith possible to have the computer voices working ?
Because the normal voice works fine but a do not have the computer voice witch say's de names of the roads and road numbers.
perhaps y did somting wrong .
y removende al cspeech*.dat and y placed the folder outsourced.bin in the root of my sd card is that the good way ?
If yes how els can y get the computer voice to work ?
and after a time the program asks my if y want to shut down the program and start a countdown.
how do y fix that ?

Your right, i have doen what you have doen.
Using your LINKS and delete cspeech*.dat and TTS Folder
Using the saveRamOption with WaCE 715.1703
But i can not navigate an adress, the TTOne V2 freeze without the cspeech*.dat.
Why ?

The device worked when I install v8 over a working version 7.162 with TTS overwriting the existing files as shown in http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1944178&postcount=333.

BUT when I use a newly formatted 1GB standard SD Card and re-installed 1, 2 or 3 plus ASR, big Kate TTS, and the device just freezes on me. Tried all TTUser se_ttsystem (old and new) combinations and still nothing works.
I am starting to believe that this version plus TTS will not work on tt1xl.:afraid:

The no-tts version works fine btw.:egdance:

Hi TTuser,

after testing new files and having found the RAM issue, the NAVCORE 8 works perfectly having, on my TT ONE V2 about 11,5MB. Now navigating to address works fine, faster GPS fix, and faster boot.

Still haven't test the mp3... with normal voices it works great like in previous versions.

Had someone teste normal voices with TTS ones already? do they work together with 32MB devices only?

If so, does the TTS stops after a while driving with no directions still?

By the way, how does the mp3 behaves through internal speaker. i'll test it but any advanced results are appreciated.

Your previous efforts resulted in 7.162 doing TTS. Is the only reason 8 can't do the TTS stuff a lack of memory on the One XL, or is there a deeper reason? Surely there can't be that much more code in v8 than 7.162? there seemed to be a reasonable amount of free ram.

7.162 only did TTS with a specially formed ttn71628492. I'm trying to understand how that file was created- do you have the source code (dissasembly?) and the compiler toolchain, or are you using a hex editor and hacking the file more directly?

Mate, that is what TTuser is working on.
I have tried all the possible combinations in Post#1 but still can't get the TTS working.
Have tried the following combinations to check which one will work.
a) 1, 2 and 8 - works but no TTS
b) 1, 3 and 8 - works but no TTS
c) 1, 4 and 8 - works but no TTS
d) 1, 5 and 8 - works but no TTS
e) 1, 6, and 8 - works but human voice only
f) 1, 7 and 8 - works but human voice only
NOTE: All of the above (except e & f) with working (small and big Kate) LoquendoTTS files and v7 map with cspeech file.:ashamed:

To those of you thinking RAM in the "old" units is stopping TTS - stop sweating :ashamed:
Tomtom even made a version of their own with TTS: Tomtom XLS (http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=421&Category=0&Lid=4).

and why would tomtom make xls similar to xl - I don't think so, surely there is a hardware improvement behind it.
I think TTuser's version (pls correct me if I'm wrong) is like utilizing the physical space on the sdcard for its ttsystem rather than using the system internal memory (RAM) OR to confuse you more - that is the reverse of back in the old days when 286 pc still use DOS (disk operating system btw in case u ask) with 200mb hard disk drive, we modify our config.sys and autoexec.bat to use a small portion of the 312mb RAM to run the system a bit faster - because back them the RAM (solid state) is faster than the hard disk drive (mechanical device). In tomtom, the RAM is as fast as the SD Card, and that my friend is one of the very best work that TTuser :urtheman: has done for us Tomtom users. I bet you that tomtom support team will do the same - more economical - more money for them.

Unrelated but maybe you can think about it, I'll try not to ask a stupid question:

TT uses the bluez stack for bluetooth, my friend has a Rider V.2 and it seems that TT has taken out the headset support after Navcore 7.21.

The bluez profile (I think in /etc/bluetooth) for A2DP uses class 0x200404.

I'm not sure which version of bluez stack tt uses: Here's some info on the newest: http://www.holtmann.org/linux/bluetooth/audio.html

Do you have access to to the /etc to maybe change the class device to mono headset for Rider units. It'll be great if Navcore 8 could support headset devices.

Hi to all,

I've tested the ONE V2 on road with NAVCORE 8, and RAMsave. all apparently perfect, but I noticed to turn slow if you circle the menus a bit. it's like if the cpu had not enough power. With map 675, runs very slow. i used the 715.1703 after that and it seems to keep the system slow. Available RAM stands for 10,5 MB, so the problem isn't through memory gaps! only a reset will make it back to normal, but cycling menus turns to make it a bit slow.

Could someone confirm this issue. (Appart from this, works a wonder!)

You cant believe the displayed free Mem, its a total Lie. I fill the ram with more and more files and it say more and more free ram:hehe: until it begin also to freeze by try to navigate or enter the menu. device swap the memo etc, its not easy as you believe

Based on this link below, it says that TT930 is using a slightly different version of Loquendo TTS so it will not recognise the downloaded UK voices for the x20 models. If this is really the case, I guess we have to wait until the new voices are available in this forum before being able to use the TTS.

Yes TTuser, I am confused too because I noticed some people can use the TTS. I am just sharing the link I found which may or may not be true/correct.

By the way, can you tell me whether or not there is a specific required free disk on the SD card for using the "outsourced" folder. I have a new V2 (aka V4), I installed nav 8 in the internal memory + outsourced folder, it still freezes. I checked, it has only about 43Mb free space. Then, I installed it on an 4GB SD card but with a different map (with cspeech), it finally work good except for TTS (this is the first time it works after so many trials).

So, I was wondering why it works on the SD card but not on the internal memory? I guess there are 3 possibilities, i.e. either I need to have a minimum disk space requirement for using the outsourced, or because I am not using the cspeech (in the internal memory), or outsourced folder is to be used with SDcard, not with internal memory?
