lord2000 20th May 2008, 13:02 Because this is my first post, I take this opportunity to thank Zibri, TTUSER, and all the user that their contribution has helped a little by all.
Who is having problems in the use of maps iberia v805-1801 which is reset to solve this problem must delete the files MapSettings.cfg and file MapUserPatch.dat.
Best regards
tombatomba 20th May 2008, 13:44 SDHC supported on go 710 with nav SE 8.002?
i could read in posts before, that SDHC cards should be supported with nav 8 on older models and that someone could run successfully on a one v2. there was also a former question for go 710/510 but i couldnt find an answer.
on my 710 with 8.002 everything is running fast and solid but with every new map version i am coming closer to the 2gb limit even if i delete a lot (i am using West Centr Euro 8.05 full version). i tried two different 4gb sd cards which were recommended in this forum but got alway problems sooner or later.
i would not like to repeat the same expierence with sdhc. so my question is: is sdhc now supported on 710? who has it already running?
thanks a lot for all the fine contributions here!

Oh God! It was so easy! :suicide: :ashamed:
Many many thanks lord2000. You where absolutely wright. :exactly:
I deleted MapSettings.cfg and MapUserPatch.dat from my v805-1801 map folder and the reboot problem is over. :excited:
One more thing: when i start my TT one v2 i get this message in the right upper corner:
Run in save RAM mode
Is this a serious limitation? In fact i have 12Mb free from the 32Mb ram.
Edit: save RAM mode is a mod made by TTuser so that there is more ram available in TTones. That made possible the new features on those devices.

Charly2007 20th May 2008, 16:16 Reliable? It's the same map, only it has more countries...
Maybe I didn't express myself quite properly. What I meant by "Reliable" was as far as map installation is concern. I've heard of quite a lot of people having trouble making that Iberia v.8 map work, which doesn't seem to happen quite as often with the Western & Central Europe 800.1766. I know that I'm not an expert at this field, but I can see that the Western & Central Europe map has more countries than the Iberia map. Believe me, I can see that!!
Now, the question is... Can you see now what I meant by "Reliable"?

The readme file says:
With the Switchfiles can you configure alone your Device.
x20 = switch it to x20 Emulation
TTSoff = No Loquendo TTS
FMon = FMTransmitter on
poweroff = Device switch real complete off, not only sleep
For instance in my device TT one V2 with nav 8.002 i extracted poweroff to the root of my sd card and the on/off switch now turns the device off. Before this the device went sleep mode when on/off switch was pressed.

You have a nice day!
zoonooz 21st May 2008, 12:41 Hello,
I extracted the files to my storage card, just as described. And because I have a ttg 720, I also replaced the ttsystem and added a file x20.
Then I booted from the sd-card.
I saw on the screen a message like "please wait...", which looked like it was updating something. Maybe the bootloader. The file named system was on the sd-card. After that the ttg 720 powered off.
And now I am not able to power it on again! I tried a bunch of combinations of the reset- and powerbutton, everything with no success.
What can I do?
Is there a way to repair a broken bootloader? Maybe a service tool?
Since I got my ttg 720, the powerbutton was always strange... sometimes it did not power on after holding the button down for 30 seconds. Maybe the button is broken? But before, it powered on somehow...
My battery should be charged.

falafel 21st May 2008, 13:02 I need to upgrade Tomtom One classic of a friend that has Navcore 5 yet.
Is it better to upgrade "System" too or to maintain original "System"? Bootloader 5.5010 works fine on Tomtom One classic (=first edition)? Thanx :)
tombatomba 21st May 2008, 13:16 http://www.ipmart-forum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=398722&stc=1&d=1211316800
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=398723&stc=1&d=1211316800
as already known, in order to make your GO710 to support SDHC, you need to flash the bootloader to 5.5010 or newer
just rename "system1" to "system" in the root folder, and make a "cold" reset
if i m not wrong the bootloader version in the root directory is 5.5010
i found 5.5012 in the forum also, and flashed it
may be due to this (????), the version in the power on screen (push and hold the power on.....) is 5.5012, the version showed by the application is 5.5010.... as you can see in the pics
i just hope this will help and apologize for any mistake of mine ........
still testing all the features
as already known the sound is a bit delayed, so the vocal instructions are speaked too late...
can anybody confirm that only the bootloader has to be updated to 5.5010?
still testing means for me that there are problems belonging to the use of sdhc card, isnt it?
does that sound delay also happen if you are using a standard sd card?
... and what sdhc card are you using?
... and do normal sd cards (i have a sandisk 2gb) still work after updating bootloader?
@ttuser: any experience from the "boss" using sdhc cards?
thanks again but i am not convinced yet to buy a sdhc.
Additional: Just checked my system and found out that i have already the system-file from 8.2.08 16:00h on my 710. (renamed from original system1). but my go says that boot is 5.4106 (in the go itself, not tthome!). strange!

...why have TTSoff option when TTS does not work on Tomtom One XL
lord2000 22nd May 2008, 11:46 ...why have TTSoff option when TTS does not work on Tomtom One XL
I think this is not true because the tomtom sells the 130s and xls, both with TTS enable.
There is something that is block the TTS, but what is?????
Some people whit a GO serie may thin that this may seem insignificant thing, but imagine having the POI with a single beep, as you already see the difference.

8. ASR Folder....etc, etc... is a single link.
The lines underneath are actually other, and totally separate links to other files/software.
To get your 910 working, you need 1 & 5. only loads to No Maps message tho'
You need a map & ttsystem patched to load map & use device.
you need 8 if you want ASR to work ( providing you have ASR enabled map )
you need patched home dll if you want to use updates / mapshare.
Re-read the instructions on page 1.

OGG are in my Map of course not in ROOT.

For a NON-TTS (human voice only) system you need all sorts of .ogg files for your Warn If near POI.
.ogg files need to be in Sounds folder not your Map folder
For a TTS (computer voice) system, there is no need for .ogg sound files files.

I think with thesmall sound files, your tomtom will give you directions such as 'take the next left' etc, but with large soundfiles, and tts working, it will actually call out the name of the road in a voice.
Not sure about the 'sleep' issue, but i upgraded my tomtom one to a 910 and tts works ok in demo mode at least. not tried it 'live' yet.

From what I could gather, I have a ONE XL-S featuring TTS, the difference between the large and small computer voices is the level of compression. I tried both and could find no difference. I had hoped for better pronounciation but I could not tell from the tests I made. They seemed identical. The most recent voices are the small ones.

x5nder 23rd May 2008, 13:58 I have just upgraded my 910 to the new navcore, but I still have some questions. Perhaps someone can answer them.
1) What is the 'outsourced.bin'-folder used for? Is it necessary for the 910, or is it necessary in conjunction with the noFlash-folder (which I need in order to avoid the "no flash found"-error)?
2) One of the switchfiles is the x20-emulation... but what does it do, exactly? What is the difference with and without the file for a 910 unit?
3) I can select computer voices, but they are completely silent. The regular voice work okay. What could be the problem? I used the LoquendoDDS-folder from the original 910 with the modified bin- and lib-folders in the cracked zip. FYI: Voice input works perfectly.
Thanks.

Quite a few people have trouble getting LoquendoTTS to work with Navcore V8, myself included. I've tried several builds of LoquendoTTS including ones quoted to be working fine but seemingly not so on my TomTom V1 Classic. Symptom seems to be simply not having the computer voice available to select. :(
ex300s 23rd May 2008, 15:45 I have just upgraded my 910.................................
1) To save ram memory, some precess can be run on sd/hd to free ram
2) x20 emulation means only the look, is a old version, forget, see first post.
3)Loquendo's 8 version not works fine, try old v6 or v7, for me works both, but original v6 from our 910 have a lower consumption of resources.

you may find x20 doesn't have ALG so x20 emu won't run it.
BTW
I have a 710, running nav8, W&CE8, UK&IE8, ASR worx, TTS worx, ALG worx.
Used 1 & 5 & 8 from TTuser ( page1 of this thread ), had a working Loquendo folder already, got other files from the Full Backup ( again, listed by TTuser on Page1 ).
Did you patch ttsystem?
Hopefully, you didn't use x30 emu for x20 only.
TTuser 23rd May 2008, 23:13 copy for 710 (gox10) 5. ttsystem and noflash Folder to SD, done, boot and wait until it is done with twice reboots. if it cant mount flash, then works it always not, make no sense to say it works with x20 :roflmao: simple not possible because with x20 no different on the flashmountfront
all ttsystem from me are of course already patched, total useless to do it again
all with a x10 should simple copy also noflash to device, if after a few boots the noflash folder still exist, then have your device not the flashmountproblem and you can normally delete the folder, if your device cant mount flash then use it alone the noflash content and reboot twice alone until it run correct, then exist a flash folder and noflash is missing

Hi kennylee,
Your link points to a 'navcore_SE_8.002.9117_GOx10.rar' is this what you used for your device? in other words does restoring this rar file in an empty TT GO910 HD root do the trick?
if and only if that is the case why is your 'ttsystem" different from the one provided in post #1 of this thread while the 'Home_navcore_dll' is identical to the one in post#1?
regards,
yDdraigGoch 24th May 2008, 13:15 all ttsystem from me are of course already patched, total useless to do it again
Doesn't specify he was using your ttsystem from fileset 5.
That's why I advised him to use it, please note.
Patch question was just in case he had the original, unpatched ttsystem from x30 original fileset or x20-to-x30 fileset ( two very common mistakes, unfortunately ).
BTW, there used to be a special set of instructions for x10 users, linked off on Page1.
Where have they gone?

It works with a One v2 (No lane advising and less Security options (speedwarning))
Some a suggestion how to solve the last problems?

Russell1 25th May 2008, 11:24 Has anyone got this V8 software with a V8 map working properly on a Go500 ?
If yes - are all the functions working - such as TTS & the .ogg warning sounds for speed cameras etc... ?

TomTom freese!!!
TomTOm freeze because you need to put the cspeech files into your Map.
if you are running the Western_Centrale_europe_map you need 19 cspeech.
you can find it here : http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2024174&postcount=7
you place this dummy scpeech (dummy because you need this file, but since you don't have a microphone on your ONE V1 you don't need the real files. Real files is something like 220MB but since you don't need to fill your ONE V1 with 220MB the Dummy cspeech is fine enough, only 20k)
Try this, it work on mine :ilove:
Mini_Mi 25th May 2008, 14:34 First of all, I salute TTuser and all others for his tips and solutions.
The navcore_8.002.9117 & Western & Central Europe v805.1801 works great on my TT910! :thanks: :ilove:
Only one question......
Can I still make contact via TomTom Home and the TomTom server for updates or so?
Or will they see that I use some hacked testware?
Hmmmm... testware
Is it safe to connect? Or do I block them or.....?

For people who wants to upgrade the bootloader to V5.5012, just copy the file system to the root for you SD card. After restart the bootloader will be upgraded.

TTuser 25th May 2008, 20:36 exactly for a 910 5., the other would not correct work, you should then all Features have

TTuser do I need also the 1. Basic Pack without ASR and ttsystem?
Do I just copy and paste them in to the TT drawer?
Thank you!
Mini Mi
TTuser 25th May 2008, 21:14 how you can also read in 1. post
copy all from navcore_8.002.9117.gox30(or 1.Basicpack) to Storage
replace (or add) ttsystem with one which you like 3,5
it is now enough to overwrite the original ttsystem with 5.
Mini_Mi 25th May 2008, 21:50 Thanks and salute to you again TTuser!
It works!!!!!
Mini_Mi 25th May 2008, 22:08 Last question.... lol
When I connect via TThome to the TTserver it gives a error. But this is normal and I expected this, but when I tried to use my TT910 via the TTHome and computer he ask for to chose a map.
When I click on the map western & central Europa, TThome respond with: Not the correct Activate code..........
Is there a solution for this?
Or is het beter to stay a way from TTHome for a while ;)
I hope it is still safe to connect?
Thank you
Regards,
Mini Mi.
TTuser 25th May 2008, 22:15 For "operate my GO" need you to patch the dll, you use the already patched from link in first post and search your own and overwrite it, or you use Option 3 (4) from "easytousetool" link to it also in 1. post
Mini_Mi 25th May 2008, 23:52 Thanks again TTuser,
It works on my Mac/Intel under XP!
Under Mac Os X seems an other story

Peercke 26th May 2008, 18:31 Hi,
Everything works fine with version 8.002 on my 710, but I still have one problem with TMC. It never finds a station and it uses a different icon when searching. In this thread I see more people having the same problem, but I haven't find a solution yet. Anyone has an idea?
TTuser 26th May 2008, 20:44 I made 5. new. You can now use a fake ttgo.bif with the right Version to remove the "wrongVersion" Message from Home. It move the faked ttgo.bak before it switch off (or connect to Pc) to ttgo.bif and the original to ttgo.ori. It delete now by Start & end the dump TMC-Data (gnsdata) TMC works then (for me) to 99,9%. (The File is not to 100% the Reason for not working TMC.)

Thanks TTUser! I don't get the message in Home anymore, and I can download mapshare updates! Thanks again! :excited:

have you tried the emulation yet? mine is not working. thanks
Cadkey 26th May 2008, 22:13 @fEArmE:
read the readme.txt file:
"you can then of course with the faked v7 not more use v8 Maps with the Emulator."
i think you use a v8 map !!!!
almanbrother 26th May 2008, 22:22 A vew qeustions.
I've just get a new 920 with navcore 7.xx and 7.10 maps.
To install navcore 8 and maps 8 I do the following:
1. just copy the original nav 8 (overwrite excisiting files/folders or do I have to delete everything first and then copy?)
2. copy the patched ttsystem
3. copy the pached home.dll to:
a: c:\users\xxxx\appdata\roaming\tomtom\home\profiles \xxxxxx.default
or
b: d:\tomtom home2\xul\plugins\emulator
whitch one?
Then crack the 8-maps withe the tt_keygen and copy the .dct file to the maps.
Would everything then be fine or do I something wrong?
Please can someone confirm/answer my doubts?
Regards,
Almanbrother
Alex20047 26th May 2008, 22:33 almanbrother
First - don't deleate anything from intrenal memory of your TT 920.
Just take a new SD card and:
1. just copy the original nav 8 to SD card (don't copy file system!!! to keep original bootloader of your 920)
2. copy the patched ttsystem to the SD card
3. Then crack the 8-maps with the TTuser tool and copy the .dct file to the map folder at your SD card.
Test it and only than start to think about TTHome :)

The wrong version message is now fixed, but the TMC problem is still there. I already read about throwing away the "gnsdata" file, but my TT never has such a file ... Any more ideas, TTUser? In 7.221 it worked perfectly.
TTuser 26th May 2008, 23:24 you have first the dumpfile after you have receive tmcmessages, have you possible a old 4000.. antenna, others write with the old works it at all not more, i have a 10.2 and it works good enough
you need to copy and overwrite your original dll, if your is in a other path/place then is it of course useless to copy the dll to the path

Thank you Alex,
It's nessecary to use a sd-card? Or is there a specific reason. I don't have one. I cannot install on its internal memory?
Do I have to copy the cab file to the sd-card or extract first and copy the content of the cab file?
What happens with the navcore 7 on the internal memory?
TTuser 26th May 2008, 23:39 if you use a Sd have you a working old version inside and a new v8 version of SD, you can use internal, you need of course to extract first the cab and then copy all to "device" overwrite old files, i think you let better loquendotts folder complete the old alive
almanbrother 26th May 2008, 23:45 Thank you TTUser, when I copy to internal, you say overwrite, but for the maps vista only gives the opportunity to merge maps, not to overwrite. How to do this?
And just as Alex wrote, don't copy system file or is that only when I use a sd-card.
fEArmE 26th May 2008, 23:50 @fEArmE:

yes i did read the readme.txt but having hard time understanding. And yes, i'm using V8 map. You made my day. Thank you! lol
TTuser 26th May 2008, 23:55 "dont copy system file" is valid for all Cases, if you copy a new map then delete first the old folder or rename it
almanbrother 27th May 2008, 00:07 Oke thank you. I'll give it a try.
Alex20047 27th May 2008, 00:25 almanbrother

Thank you all
almanbrother 27th May 2008, 00:47 Oke now it's working. But...
2 questions,
In TTHome I get the error message "wrong version". Is there a solution for it?
second: in c:\gebruikers\gebruiker\appdata\roaming\tomtom\hom e\profiles\xxxxxx.default\extensoins is a new map navcore.8002.9117@tomtom.com with de 8-00-9117-1.dll
Do I have to replace here the pached dll-file?
In d:\tomtom home2\xul\plugins\emulator is no such map/file. Is this correct?
Alex20047 27th May 2008, 00:59 "In TTHome I get the error message "wrong version". Is there a solution for it?"
Yes. Press "back" button and continue with TTHome.

Hello TTuser.
Your new version (5) of SE TTsystem is Ok for me in my Go 910 and solve the problem (wrong version) in TT Home.
Very Good Job ..... Again :)
Thank You
pinkym 27th May 2008, 09:58 At first, a big :thanks: to TTUser and all the people who are helping us on that thread.
I have TT910 and navcore_8.002.9117 & Western & Central Europe v805.1801 (Version 1.6 GB)
I tested the line guidance, mapshare, new icons, IQ Routes and they work well but I'm still in test for the other functions
I have several questions:
- when I did the first install (with a lot of bugs), I wanted to take my old save (v660) but it didn't work as it couldn't flash back. Hopefully, I had kept an official file of Tomtom to flash back and come back to soft version v6.525. But one thing had changed and can't be modified anymore: the "hold-on/don't touch your tomtom" page is different.. is it due to the bootloader ? what the link between bootloader and the file "system" ? if we take back a old "system" file, is the bootloader downgraded also ? (I suppose that the pict changed is only a visible part of what is changed)
- I found 2 downloadable maps (on http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=251572&highlight=routes for example) one with 1.6 GB and one with 1.9 GB : did someone try them ? what is the difference (personnaly I downloaded the 1.6 GB) - our are they handled in mapshare (they have the same number)
- Concerning the ttsystem files: I found funny to try the different files until one worked but I didn't really understand why => I have one ttsystem with the brightness problem (always 100%) and another with the slow speech problem after switching off the unit. As said by TTUser I tried the poweroff (switchfiles) but I couldn't switch on my tomtom normally after that (need of a manual reset with a needle) - and it's longer to power on (of course). Another option was to use the ttsystem in the full backup but the result is worse as a page with the language choice has come and it's impossible to select anything. I didn't find any other possibility, has someone another solution so that I get my 910 100% functional ?
- the old mapsettings files do not work on the v8: has someone find a possibility to convert them ?
I try to do something synthetic but it still big.
Can TTuser of other help give me a few more infos so that I can't understand well my 910
Mio99 27th May 2008, 12:01 I have seme problem that pinkym ....
Pinkym did you try backup from Wipo ??? from page 119....
lord2000 27th May 2008, 13:37 For a NON-TTS (human voice only) system you need all sorts of .ogg files for your Warn If near POI.
.ogg files need to be in Sounds folder not your Map folder
For a TTS (computer voice) system, there is no need for .ogg sound files files.
Thank You! You right. :good2:
TTuser 27th May 2008, 16:49 Additional Infos about ttgo.bak:
The supplied ttgo.bak is only a example what i mean with faked Versionnumber and what you should do. Copy & paste your own real ttgo.bif Content to .bak and change Versionsnumber to the latest official Navcorenumber from your Device, or Home offers you always also a Navcoreupdate.
x10,x00,one,=7162 8492
GO=7163 8493
Rider=7540 9309
in ttgo.bak should you have your real ttgo.bif Text, and then change
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8002
ApplicationVersion=9117
to latest Version for your Device
for a x20 current
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
for other devices corresponding other Version, if a new latest Version come out, need you to change it or Home offer you always a "update"
steevs28 27th May 2008, 18:29 help, I have managed to break my 910, I followed the instructions but went wrong somewhere so I tried to do a back up and now my touch screen does not work properly, I have to touch about an inch away from where I need to touch.
Can I just delete everything and install navcore 8 on the empty hd?

marcogancio 27th May 2008, 21:02 I've used the original x30 navcore8 simply patched with the TTUser application. Fast and smooth.
almanbrother 27th May 2008, 21:12 TTuser, I have some questions about the switchfiles.
Are they suitable for my go 920 with nav 8and maps v8?
How do I config the poweroff?
And what means FMon = FMTransmitter on? What does this file do with my device? And how must I config this file?
Thanks.
papadeeh 27th May 2008, 21:40 Hello,
In the first place i would like to thank TTuser for this nice update. It almost works perfectly on my Go 710. There is only one thing that does not work and that is sound on bluetooth handsfree function.
The person that i am calling hears me talking but i don't hear anything over the internal microphone. It makes no difference if i connect my nokia 6021 or my wifes sony ericsson K610i.
Does anyone else has seen this problem and/or knows what the solution is.
I have already tried the complete backup from the first post and i have tried installing it with the different files.
Thanks
Greetings, Papadeeh
oggy9999 27th May 2008, 21:41 Hi everything is working on my 700 except the quickgpsfix. It just shows an error error message.Has anyone any ideas???
TTuser 27th May 2008, 21:47 puuh is it difficult to copy the switchfiles to root:roflmao::confused:
by other Devices like x10 works the recognition from FMmounter not, you need then to enable it manually
with a x20 need you this not
can i use navcore 8 for different version with one xl ?
pinkym 27th May 2008, 22:58 I copied the ttsystem of Wipo, the result is the famous list of all the languages: the ttgo.bif is self-modified with bad data and the msg SAVE IN RAM MODE is displayed. Should I copy other files of the backup so that it works... I don't know why it works on some 910 and not others (I tried also to patch again the ttsystem with runmeautomatic and it says it's already done )
Maybe TTuser has some ideas about that ?
I have seme problem that pinkym ....

TTuser 27th May 2008, 23:17 for gox10 use latest 5. ttsystem from 1. Post and copy also Folder noFlash to Device, it reboot then twice alone and all works then, screen ok, done, more not, easy like hell, already 1001 times written
you all make it more difficult as it is:confused:
what about one xl, you got maybe ttsystem file:D
tomtomswe 28th May 2008, 00:25 ok, TomTom One 3rd edition
-----------------------------------
i just download the 1, 5, 8 and a map, cracked the map and then worked...BUT then enter TomTom Home2 to update. DO NOT DO IT! it will restore your system back....and i got 7th back :(. Now i have to redo all the steps * sigh*.
btw, thanks for the soft TTuser!
hoiner 28th May 2008, 00:36 Hi everything is working on my 700 except the quickgpsfix. It just shows an error error message.Has anyone any ideas???
quickgpsfix works only with SirfIII Chip. The GO700 has a SirfII chip build in which doesn't support quickgpsfix.
i used your ttsystem file and it works great with tomtom one xl :D
thanks for sharring
steevs28 28th May 2008, 01:22 help needed again, I had a problem where the touch screen wasnt working properly, after copying some files over everything seemed ok and I had navcore 8 working properly on my 910.
I powered it down and now I cant get it to turn on again, I have charged it and the green light comes on but it still won't turn on, I cant do anything on my pc with it either as it asks me to connect and turn on.
Is it broke or is there anything I can do with it?
pinkym 28th May 2008, 01:23 Sorry to bother you again, I did 100 % everything you said: I copied the latest 5. ttsystem and the noflash folder on my 910. It made only one self-reboot and I got the page with the choice of language (no possibility to select anything). I'm getting mad  because I don't understand where I did a mistake.
Furthermore, I took another ttsystem in the thread, simply replaced yours and except the problem of brightness it seems to work well (after one self-reboot).
I could send your the content of my device in mp... maybe you will see an obvious problem on which I'm blind :oops2:
Anyway thanks the great job you're doing on that forum.

Have you done a hard Reset?
Hold for a few seconds, 5-10 should do.
Use a paperclip, not a pin.
steevs28 28th May 2008, 01:59 :suicide: I thought the button on the top was the hard reset.
I found it and that sorted it, I think i'll have another go at it tomorrow, my main issue now is mapshare, when going to tomtom home, I get the message about not being correct software, I have tried putting the dll file in the folder but there is nothing to replace, how do I get tomtom home to put the neccasary files in the folder so I can replace the dll?
Have you done a hard Reset?

TTuser 28th May 2008, 02:19 Again The dll have absolute nothing to do with Mapshare.
The dll is only for the emulated Device in Home. Try to use "Operate my go" and Home ask you to download needed Files.
yDdraigGoch 28th May 2008, 03:38 That sorted it thanks.
How do I get tomtom home to put the files I need in the folder so I can replace them with the dll so I can use mapshare?
Hi Steevs28
More to explain to other readers who don't know the difference, here is a quick list:
Button on top is power up / power down
Soft Reset is a quick push of reset button underneath
Hard Reset is push and hold reset button underneath for a few seconds
use paperclip as it is flat ended
pins are pointy and sharp and can ruin soft rubber button
Glad it worked annyhoo!
As mentioned in prior post, but without stressy red big type, to permit updates, mapshare and such, you first need to start Home & use Operate my Go feature to download / install an original dll file, before replacing it with a patched version.
You should then exit Home and restart for change to take effect.
The dll swap is to make TT Home work. That is to say.. the dll swap doesn't actually enable updates & mapshare directly. Rather, unless you replace original with patched version, Home will not check updates, mapshare, etc.. so it disables them indirectly.
Didn't feel the need to shout any of this from the rooftops but I can use flashy fonts and bold type & technicolours, if you wish.....just kidding!
TT1XLMan 28th May 2008, 06:28 i used your ttsystem file and it works great with tomtom one xl :D

have you got the TTS (spoken street names) working with your ttsystem?
I did try 1, 3, 8 and 1, 5, 8 but cannot get the TTS working.

Please confirm - thanks
marcogancio 28th May 2008, 10:12 Thanks to TTuser for the patched TTSystem and the ttgo.bak trick. Works like a charm.
TT1XLMan 28th May 2008, 10:33 Thanks to TTuser for the patched TTSystem and the ttgo.bak trick. Works like a charm.
Installed to Tomtom One XL with v7.20 map: computer voices Kate/Susan (v7, X30) not working only human voices work.
Mio99 28th May 2008, 12:30 Sorry to bother you again, I did 100 % everything you said: I copied the latest 5. ttsystem and the noflash folder on my 910.
Pinkym its easy...download file frst page
1, Delete from tt folder Flash
2,Copy from noFlash ttsystem(3,28MB) in you tt and replace it
3, Reboot tt you will see red x on display
4,conect to pc and copy ttsystem(5,95MB) to tt thats it :excited:
sorry for my english
steevs28 28th May 2008, 15:27 Thanks, got it all done now, appreciate the help.
Is there a way to get the speed camera database working on version 8 maps?
TTuser 28th May 2008, 15:54 and the dll has still nothing to do with updates, mapshare or something not direct or indirect :roflmao::suicide::confused:
better
1, Delete from TT Folder Flash
2,Copy from noFlash ttsystem(3,28MB) in your tt and rename ttsystem(5,95MB) to ttsystem.o
3, Reboot TT you will see one reboot
4, it works now
pinkym has a empty Flash Folder, this can of course not work, and it do then also not what is needed alone, if it need flash folder and it exist none, do it similar steps up alone, it use noflash content to receive flash content, if a flash folder exist think it all is ok, and with a empty is of course nothing ok

papadeeh 28th May 2008, 18:38 Sorry for bumping this message but does anybody has an idea?
Papadeeh
Hello,
In the first place i would like to thank TTuser for this nice update.
Thanks
Greetings, Papadeeh
ex300s 28th May 2008, 18:55 A litlle trick, works for me, erase flash/outsource.bin folder and install this ttsystem with 100% brightness problem,
http://rapidshare.com/files/118313649/ttsystem8_100_Bright.rar.html
configure now all that you want for working normally, afther, install lastest ttsystem version with noflash and outsource.bin folders.
I hope it helps
Knorpel 28th May 2008, 19:46 The supplied ttgo.bak is only a example what i mean with faked Versionnumber and what you should do. Copy & paste your own real ttgo.bif Content to .bak and change Versionsnumber to the latest official Navcorenumber from your Device, or Home offers you always also a Navcoreupdate.

OMG! You are so full of yourself today. :punish:
Read first please.
I never stated the dll is FOR updates, mapshare, etc..BUT RATHER without it you CANNOT get updates, mapshare, etc..
This is cause & effect, therefore they DO have a relationship and ARE invariably connected IF you want updates, mapshare, etc..
Steevs wanted to know why he couldn't get them.
Not having the dll is why he couldn't get them.
Without the dll, Home will not download them
ERGO, the dll IS required.
Stop arguing over semantics.

Cadkey 28th May 2008, 22:53 @Knorpel:
in ttgo.bif, you can see this lines:
DeviceSerialNumber=M8xxxxxx
DeviceUniqueID=XXXX XXXX
open the file ttgo.ori, and copy the two originals lines, and replace it in ttgo.bif.
now in the 2 files, the two lines are with YOUR DeviceSerialNumber and YOUR DeviceUniqueID
is it clear now?
yDdraigGoch 28th May 2008, 22:54 Thanks, got it all done now, appreciate the help.
Is there a way to get the speed camera database working on version 8 maps?
Certainly is, if it's a Europe map.
Click Here (http://rapidshare.com/files/118113304/TomTom_SpeedCam_270508.rar) to download latest Camera files.
You need to put them in same place as the meta file from your map, just as you do to crack the map and create dct file.
Run the keygen and it'll create dct files for the map and the camera files.
copy all to map folder on device / SD card
Enable them in PLus services and set warnig time & sound
that's it.

bamesal 29th May 2008, 01:32 Hi guys i have 2 prob with my tomtom v2 i intall navcore and map v8 in city its works fine but when i go manchester today . my tomtom stop given the voice instruction but its working fine only voice prob .i noticed when i m doing long driving it happend .my speach is not working its says u slect human voice which voice i slect / any body tell me pls how to fix it ??? thanx
martpaul 29th May 2008, 01:34 hi
i have heard there is a new navcore it´s that true?
Same happened to me, went to select voice and selected kate (computer voice) and all is well. Apparently the human voices don't do the text to speech.
Hope this helps.
tionan 29th May 2008, 01:37 For the ttgo.bif changes:
My understanding is that you change the Application Version number to the latest application version number for your tomtom.
For example for a tomtom Go 720:
DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7481
ApplicationVersion=9086
TTuser 29th May 2008, 01:50 pinkym, it works now:confused: good :D your mistake with empty Folder has now improve it for all other, i have fix the problem in new 5., it can now not more happens, it check now exist a specific file in flash folder, not more only exist the folder
i try to explain it again
in ttgo.bak should you have your real ttgo.bif text, and then change
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8002
ApplicationVersion=9117
to latest Version for your Device
for a x20 current
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7481
ApplicationVersion=9086
for other devices corresponding other Version, if a new latest version come out, need you to change it or home offer you always a "update"
for a x20 current
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7481
ApplicationVersion=9086
Did as you said - renamed ttgo.bif into ttgo.bak, changed version to the last official on my ttgo 920. Deleted original ttgo.bif. Used x20toemux30 ttsystem from 1 page (dated april 30, 2008). Nothing happens. I always have ttgo.bif with version 8....What am I doing wrong?
Thank you TTuser for you great work!
TTuser 29th May 2008, 02:57 this ttsystem have not this function, its a almost unchanged (read changelog 1.post), only 3.,5., you can normally also use one of the others it should equal works
KeysGuy 29th May 2008, 03:29 I copied the ttgo.bak to my drive and typed my DeviceSerialNumber and DeviceUniqueID into the ttgo.bak file. That's all I did and it works perfectly.
Thanks again for all your hard work TTuser. :)

Could you make the trick with ttgo.bak for this x20toemux30 version?
If it is not possible, may I use 3 or 5, but I dont want anything to go to outsorsed (want as complete as possible). I have go 920 and it has a lot of memory.

I get updates without patching TThome’s dll.
A lot of participants also confirmed it.
If you don’t it could be something specific at (or with) your computer.
P.S. Criticism on English grammar is nice but useless, as it is international forum focused on TT. Or you prefer to read TTuser’s posts in his native language. Why not? ;) You should just spend some of your time to learn it.
Criticism on others style of posting is also waste of time. Your posting is not perfect as well. Would you be so kind to stop offtopic in this thread? You could use PM in case you wish to educate us ;)
Alex20047 29th May 2008, 11:20 yDdraigGoch
If you are sure in your testing of TTHome with and without patched dll (and I am sure that you are sure :) ) let me suggest you to start a new thread on this problem. May be altogether we could find why it is necessary in one cases and not necessary in another.
TTuser 29th May 2008, 13:12 some special persons need always special ways do to something special, does not matter that all others it can do on normal way
if the dll is needed for normal updates, mapshare then would home it immediately alone download and not first ask if we try to use the "Emulator":afraid::curtsy:

HI ma8 i downlaod the kate voice but i don't know whee i put that folder bcz i put in voice but its not appear in changing voice option can u pls help me to solve this prob thanx
On my TT the kate voice resides in LoquendoTTS, the whole folder is roughly 80mb. There are loquendoTTS folders that you can download on this forum, if I can find the links I will post here.
bamesal 29th May 2008, 23:19 i put kate voice in loquendotts folder but when i m going to change the voice i can't see it there need ur advice ma8 i attached pic with my post
Just leaving work so quick message till i get more time later. My kate folder resides in folder called EnglishGb, i don't have the EnglishGb - Kate folder. Also I have a file called kate.vde it is a text file that tells tt where to look for various kate system files. I'll send it to you later gotta go!
Like I said my folder is named differently plus not sure you have the same files in the folder. Find attached all the files and two of the folders from my loquendtts folder. If you open the kate.vde file it you will see the path of files it is addressing, you should have those files in matching paths.
If this fails I will attempt to upload my loquendtts folder to rapidshare (haven't uploaded before) so that you can try copying it to your tt.

910user 30th May 2008, 03:19 My go910 is working good now with navcore 8 and W & C Europe map 8.05; thnx TTuser !
A week ago I followed an installation that looks like Jidowacker did:
Just in case, here is what I did:
1) downloaded the package "new Full working Backup - Include all you can need" from the first post.
2) made contact with the PC.
3) Made a new directory "navcore7" on the go910 root directory, and moved all the original files in it (for backup).
4) deleted all files from the root except the backup navcore7 directory, the mp3 directory and the contacts directory.
5) unpacked all files from 1) above into the clean root directory of the go910
6) in TThome: choosed disconnect to let system reboot; be very patience; the go910 will reboot several times (I think it was 3 times?); during the rebooting it will make contact with TThome and will ask to update; don't let TThome update, it will try to restore the latest navcore... So just say NO and disconnect from TThome again so it can finish the rebooting proces.
7) Started the go910 up: it detects the maps in the backup navcore7 directory! Choosed Western and Central Europe V7.15 and it worked…..
I did not patch the dll file from TThome. I could update normally (Mapshare en QuickGPSfix). I did not get any “Wrong version” messages. I did not try the TThome function “Operate my Go”; I use that option rarely.
I’ve tried this for one week now and it works great. Even speech recognition works great. No problems at all (no brightness problems, TMC I did not try). Only the computer voices didn’t work, but that’s logical, because there are no computer voices available in the Loquendo folder from TTuser, only human voices.
Today I’ve installed W & C Europe V8.05.
I wanted the computer voices to work too. I was so silly to just copy the computer voices from the go910 into the new Loquendo map; it lead to problems: I could choose a computer voice, but it did not made any sound. And it spontaneously did shut down several times. This is logical too….: I made a messing mix from the Loquendo basic folder from navcore 8 with the old one from my go910.
So I downloaded from the TomTom site the computer voices from x30 like TTuser advised in a thread somewhere else on this forum and put them in the Loquendo folder. (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=170022&page=12)
And YES it works!
I’ve read that it could work too with the old Loquendo folder from the go910; If you want to do that, then I think you’ll have to delete all the content from the Loquendo folder from TTuser and put all the content from the older go910 Loquendo folder in it (is this allright TTuser?)
I still haven’t patched TThome’s dll.
TThome updates normally with Mapshare and QuickGPSfix.
But I still have questions for TTuser:
If I want TMC to work properly do I only have to overwrite the system file with the new one you created a few days ago?
What does the message “Run in Save RAM mode” (or something like that) mean? Do I have to worry about that? The message returns with the first time operating after I’ve updated with TThome.
When my go910 is connected to the USB PC holder with power (and NOT connected to the PC) and normally operating: then in about 2 minutes I’m getting the message: your Go will shut down in 10 seconds (I can cancel it). When I take the go910 off the holder, this doesn’t happen. Is there a reason for this?
Greetings from 910user.
grimreaper20 30th May 2008, 03:51 thanks for this many thanks
TTuser 30th May 2008, 04:00 ttsystem from the 2 Backups are already old, all should load also the new.
The Loquendo Basic Folder come only with Mainfiles for x20 and x30 Voices. For 910 Voices need you other Files.
If i have really somewhere advised the x30 Voices  then sorry, after more experience can i only say use old 910 or x20 Voices.
TMC can also works good with the older ttsystem. TMC can better works with the new ttsystem. Worse can it with the new not works.
“Run in Save RAM mode” is only a Information and mean you use Outsourced.bin Folder and save now a bit from your 32/64MB RAM. For 32MB Devices it is recommended.
Purpose or not  you can remove this "autopoweroff" with a File noautosuspend.dat in root of your TT. and if you like to annoy someone then put a file nousbconnect.dat in root:pmpl:

ciccio80 30th May 2008, 12:05 hi, i have a tomtom duo(one) with my stereo fujitsu ten avn 2210p, is possible to hack this device with this navcore?
supercazzola 30th May 2008, 12:21 Well, i've just installed the nav8 on my go710. All is working good, also the loquendotts voices (i've used the x730 voices as descripted here: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=170022&page=12). I had the can't mount flash problem that i solved using the noflash directory.
Few questions:
1) The bootloader was not updated so i'm still with the 4600. How to update the bootloader?
2) I'm a bit confused about the ttgo. I don't understand if i have to modify it and then rename to ttgo.bak or what? Because if i don't rename it automatically restore itself to the original state.
3) There is the car settings icon on the tomtom menu that is greyed out. Is this normal?
4) What's the difference between big loquendotts voices like these: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1414498&postcount=1 and these http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=170022&page=12 that are a lot smaller.
O.T.
I've tried to install the navcore 7.481.9086 but i was not able to solve the no mount flash problem so i decided to install the new nav8. There is not noflash directory here: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1915820&postcount=1.
Thank you all for your great support, bye!
ex300s 30th May 2008, 12:43 1-The news bootloaders versions comes on file system on news navcore versions, only put on sd root.
2-If not have tthome advises, it isn't needed...
3-yes, seems for a future docking car kit........
4-big v6 are the most old, uncompressed original from 910, the other are from v7-x20 v8-x30 devices, more compression and seems needs more resources to run, use v6 or v7 for navcore8
For nav 7.48 needs folder flash, you can use folder flash from working navcore, it's the same......but if you want navcore7 i think is better use SE_7.221
supercazzola 30th May 2008, 14:34 Thank you for the answer, but:
1) As i said i've installed the new nav8 but the bootloader has not been updated. So there is a missing file...I don't know.
2) tthome give me error version but it's not a big problem.
4) I'm usig x730 voices and are working very well.
I've used the noflash folder from the v8 but it didn't work. Maybe it's only for version 8...
Cadkey 30th May 2008, 15:18 @supercazzola:
for error version, click on downer left button (precedent) on TTHOME, and error is ignored.
Or use ttgo.bak, with YOUR number device and serial number inside (you can copy this two numbers present in ttgo.bif and past it in ttgo.bak)
the use of noflash is transparent to the user.
rufer 30th May 2008, 15:23 Hello,
Congratulations for the beautiful work, mainly to ttuser.
I'm having problems with my one v1 I download 1 and 3, everything works well but when I try to navigate to address blocks with 8.05 and 7.20 map!
Is there a solution?

TTuser 30th May 2008, 15:30 This old 7.481 use not automatic noflash, you need to use your previous Flash Folder or only the Content from noflash Folder.

tomtom on radio eclipse avn2210p worksssssssssssss!!!!!!!
thanks thanks thanks......
pinkym 30th May 2008, 19:18 ttsystem from the 2 Backups are already old, all should load also the new.
I made a few trips with my "brand new" 910 with navcore 8.002 and western europe 8.05 thanks to TTUser :egdance:
The only problem I noticed might be due to the save RAM mode: when I plan long trips, the calculation time is very long (more than one minute for 1.200 kms)
As I have 64 Mb and about 20 Mb available, can I remove the outsourced.bin folder so that most of the work comes back in RAM (I suppose that RAM is faster than HD) or is it more complex ?
ex300s 30th May 2008, 21:41 Try this, files from outsource.bin can be deleted, asrserver, ttsserver, rdstmcserver, can be deleted the full folder too. for my 910 best configuration is without this three files......
8.002 works well on TT1 Classic - just one very minor cosmetic detail - TT Home seems to see the device as running 7.163.
So if I rename and overwite ..\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\m1xkagjq.default\extensi ons\Navcore.7.163.8493@tomtom.com\7-163-8493-3.dll with patched DLL, I can "operate the device" in TT Home with V8 map without problem.
Is there a trick I missed to get TT Home to recognise the correct V8 version of Navcore? Thanks :)
retkris 31st May 2008, 02:43 When I plan a route TT is warning me that is a toll on my road and asking me to accept or not.
I wonder if I can check where exactly on planned route is that toll?
Is it possible to see it? :good2:

1st of all thanks for your good work... Keep it up.
Now my question where can I find these files 'noautosuspend.dat' and 'nousbconnect.dat"
regards,
Just create an empty text file with the name "noautosuspend.dat", NOTHING has to be in this file. And place it in the root of your TT.
Don't create a file "nousbconnect.dat" !!!! Because you won't be able to connect to the PC anymore !!! This was a JOKE from TTuser.

superduper 31st May 2008, 19:48 while you guys at it I will tell you what I have acidentaly discovered:
I have purchased another TomTom GO 710 for my wife. Obviously, I could not be bothered to have everything installed for second unit from scratch What I have done is the following:
I have copied entire contents of SD card form my unit to SD card of my wife.
Following by bootloader upgrade, GO710 started OK. I was ready for the message to come on the screen that activation is failed. Obviously, because of device ID mismatch..
here comes the interesting part:
map was activated. I have checked the unit device id and it was EXACTLY THE SAME AS ON MY GO710 !!!!
Fair enough. At that stage I was going nuts :) I thought that during bootloader upgrade I have fried new GO710 and somehow flashed new Device ID to it :)))))
Next. I have sticked in empty SD card and istalled unmodified navcore 7.0. Device ID reverted back to normal!!
replaced navcore v.8 SD card and device ID changed to what i have on my first tomtom go!!
this is what happened:
On my unit I am running navcore 8.0 for go x10 in save RAM mode. It appears that in that mode navcore does not read Device ID value for the device itself but seems to takes that from some file on SD card - fromone of the folders created during dumping contents of RAM to SD card to save RAM!
what a beauty! i can now purchase 1 map and share it between the whole family - no re-activation is required!!
TTUser - thanks for that!! By the way: did you know that??
Cadkey 31st May 2008, 20:41 @superduper:
why purchase a map?
you can found and download for free all the maps on this forum !!!
ex300s 31st May 2008, 20:49 The maps are upload for someone who it had purchased.
If is true the id device change, we can download direct from tt with a working id, but i think that it's impossible that the device recongnition by home can be diferent........
superduper 31st May 2008, 20:56 @Cadkey. I know.. :) the case is worthy though. This trick might come handy one day. who knows ;)
baramine 31st May 2008, 20:59 but not the France 8.05
ex300s 31st May 2008, 21:08 out of topic...............:backtotopic:
superduper 31st May 2008, 21:22 mate, I am not telling you sh1t. This is what I have got here and believe me, I am not a novice ;)
i have two GO 510 units: older is mine, new is purchase for my wife.
on my unit I nave Navcore 8.002 by TTUser operating in SAVE RAM MODE
get this: in save ram mode.(!!)
in this mode it appears that navcore is reading device id not from the unit but from some file in flash folder (is my _educated_ guess). I have not investigated that fully. but I have seen ttgo.bif file in one of the saved to SD card folder. was that FLASH folder? I cannot remember. not important - It is there.
but definetelly not from the unit.
again:
i have made exact copy of my SD card - the whole lot. inc. activated maps and everything.
inserted copy of my SD card with activated map for my older GO510 in new GO510.
the following have occured:
1. new GO510 received bootloader upgrade
2. 1 auto restart.
3. new GO510 booted normaly - straight into normal mode!
map was activated!!
I have immediatelly checked Device ID - it was exactly what I have on my older GO510!!
I did full device reset - just to make sure that device id will not change on next reboot.
It has not chage after full reset, after normal reset, ever!
so my next thought was: I have fried new GO510. I have installed official navcore 7.x to blank SD and device ID became normal again.
At that stage I was quite happy to realise that I have not fried new GO510 at least and I am still sane :)
ok. removed that SD card and inserted SD card with Navcore 8.x - device ID changed to match Device ID from my older GO again.
so this is all real:
if you operating yoour GO in SAVE RAM MODE, then you can just stick your SD card with activated maps on it to other GO - at least same model. that's what I have got confirmed at the moment anyway.
this is good stuff. I am sure that we can put this anomality to good use at some stager later.
:ilove:
EDIT:
this is what I have tried just now:
now that I now REAL device id for the new unit, I have generated meta.dct file to match the real device id and placed it in map folder.
I have error now on start: Activation FAILED! :D
this is hilarious. activation file for real Device ID is not accepted. only for the device id in the saved ttgo.bif. you can go and change device id in ttgo.bif on your unit if you run it in samve ram mode and see what happens :)
you will have to generate new meta.dct to match new device id in the saved ttgo.bif
Lads and Gents: we can now change our device ID's at our will... beautiful! :)
The maps are upload for someone who it had purchased.
If is true the id device change, we can download direct from tt with a working id, but i think that it's impossible that the device recongnition by home can be diferent........
TTuser 31st May 2008, 23:24 Its the file Flash/sysfile/id this store the Serial, the Device calculate then the matching ID. Its only a effect from FlashmountProblem, and have nothing to do with outsourced.bin. and works only if the Device have the flashmountproblem or if flash with intention is not mounted.
superduper 1st June 2008, 03:12 @TTUser
great! so it does work.
ex300s said:

ok. Will TomTom Home see *real device id* or the *generated device id* based on Flash/sysfile/id file then?
If it will see generated , then as ex300s pointed out:
we should be able to we can download direct from tt with a working id
we can make flash intentionally NOT MOUNTED on any TomTom GO and then use file Flash/sysfile/id and change device id at our will. this sounds like a good feature ;)
TTuser 1st June 2008, 04:25 With complete real Device (and with some Devices is it not other possible 910,700,with only internal memo.) see Home the real Data. Since newest Home is it possible to use again only SD-Card, then read home Data from ttgo.bif, and this can we fake how we like. I believe to load Maps with Home need Home the complete Device. With wrong activated Maps works then also the "Operate my go" not more because Home see real Data. This wrong id File influenced only the Navcore on Device.
Tex88 1st June 2008, 04:32 You know, if German wasn't one of the languages in which I'm fluent, I'd have no idea what you're talking about, TTuser ;)
superduper 1st June 2008, 12:36 I have got it. TomTom Home see the real deivce id and "operate my go" becomes unavailable if modified device id is used on device running in save ram mode.
Also, it is impossible to use TomTom Home to load maps directly from TomTom website because real device id is recognised regardless of what fake device id is used in ttgo.bif.
Interesting though:
you use ttgo.back file to ged rid fo the error - wrong version of firmware detected...
can we use that ttgo.back file then?
if TomTom home reads navcore version from it (ttgo.back copied to ttgo.bif on shut down),then there is a chance that it would read device id from that file as well??
slamdunk2008 1st June 2008, 15:40 TomTom HOME unable to detect the device after installing Navcore 8 on GO 720.
Does anyone knows how to fix this so that HOME can find camera, voice etc updates available ?
Thanks!

dike001 1st June 2008, 18:07 copie 8-002-9117-1.dll to C:\Documents and Settings\johnny\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\3jwk61oq.default\extensi ons\Navcore.8.002.9117@tomtom.com
dear was mine
just installed this to my 910 via this method:
1. Backed up entire contents of TomTom's hard drive to PC
2. Deleted everything on TomTom's hard drive
3. Copied #1 'Basic Pack without ASR and ttsystem' to TomTom
4. Copied #5 'gox10 with Display & slow TTS Problem x30 Emu' to TomTom
I got it to work and it started OK, so I added a map, I used easyusetools and it asked me my TT device letter and I put it in (H) and it went into the device and fixed the map and then I did it for the backup ttsystem (option 2) but ever since I done that and tried to start my tomtom it will not start at all, it flags the tomtom screen - black with red hands and does the audio bit and then goes to a blank screen with a outline of the device with tomtom Go 910 up in the corner.
I hard reset it numerous amounts of times and it still stays this way. I carried out a hard reset by holing a pin into the underside of the tomtom for 20 seconds.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
TTuser 1st June 2008, 18:43 :confused: my ttsystems are of course already patched, total useless to do it again.
You need only to activate your Map, done.

1) the radio have a button switch from tomtom to radio input, but when i push this
button don't change on display of tomtom, why?
2) i hear the voice of chiara only on built in audio of tomtom and not on radio of my

slamdunk2008 2nd June 2008, 03:27 TTUser/Everyone,
Need some help with Navcor 8 on TomTom ONE V2 (with SD card slot)
I installed 1. (Basic Pack without ASR and ttsystem) and 3. (ttsystem for all Devices except go x10) on existing Navcore 7.162 on internal memory (it prompted to overwrite few files and I click yes)
I tried 1. and 5. too but same result.
I tried copying noflash folder, also tried copying ttsystem from noflash folder to root, also tried copying switechfiles to root of internal memory and also tried deleting files from LoquendoTTS folder but no luck.
The icons spoken address and spoken address(dialog) are missing from navigate to menu.
The device is loaded with v7.20 Australia map
It loads ok with map but when I tap on address to navigate, it freezes for few seconds and then restarts and does the same everytime I try to input street address...
Please help how to fix this?
Thanks!
marsdeng 2nd June 2008, 03:40 Hi I am looking for a way copy accross my MapSettings.cfg from a TTG300 to a TTGO910.
I have App 8.002 and map v805.1801 on my TTGO910 Western and Central Europe
But only had UK & Ireland on my TTGO300 (before it died)
Anyway I can import/copy MapSettings.cfg to work with my TTGO910?
ex300s 2nd June 2008, 03:46 Is not possible from navcore 7 to 8, but you can create a new category of pois on navcore 7 and pass your favorites one by one, after copy the ov2 file with this poi category to navcore 8.
astroflea 2nd June 2008, 04:16 If you want version 7 favorites as poi's in version 8, just open the mapsettings.cfg file in poiedit and save as an ov2. load it into your navcore 8 version. you can then convert those poi's back to favorites if you like....

Possible would help it to read simple the first Post or other Posts:confused:Known Errors: .... Poor Devices (one,gox00,...) need cspeech Files in Mapfolder or it freeze.
ciccio80, the navcore think you have a x30, for all this function would you need that it think its a duo, then have you not more the menu, features from x30, and i believe this navcore include not the special function for a duo

vgamer 3rd June 2008, 00:31 "replace ttsystem with the ttsystem.8.002.9117.only.for.x20.to.emux30

Ok i have a 920 however when I try to use the TTSYSTEM 3 my TomTom never boots up it just stays at the boot up screen.
With the ttsystem.8.002.9117.only.for.x20.to.emux30 it works just fine. I want to know if there is a difference between the two. I do want the one with the best features and tweaking possible.
Thanks

You are not understanding why I am asking this question. It is because in the directions posted by TTUser. He says that you can use either file depending on your preference. I dont know which has more features but I do know that the switchfiles is included with the updated one not the older x20 emu x30 one. I do know what the EMU file means but I am under the impression you can choose either TTSYSTEM file.
ex300s 3rd June 2008, 02:53 ttuser it's the juggler for old devices, but with x20 works all the features as x30, because have the same hardware, the joggling with files are for ones and x10.....

Skizza 3rd June 2008, 09:48 Okay, after watching the tutorial video and reading 144 pages of this thread, I'm more confused than when I started!
And I'm not a complete moron. I currently have a 510 "Zibri'd" to a 710, then "Zibri'd" to a 720, so again, not a complete moron as I was able to follow instructions.
So please bare with my questions as I read the ENTIRE thread and watched the tutorial.
1) Is the video tutorial obsolete? Asking because I thought I read ttuser indicate that his ttsystem was already patched.
2) This in #3(ttsytem for all devices except x10)
"If ttgo.bak exist in root copy the Device alone it to ttgo.bif and Home see not more the wrong Version. Enter your own Serial, ID. You can then of course with the faked v7 not more use v8 Maps with the Emulator.
With the Switchfiles in root can you configure alone your Device.
x20 = switch it to x20 Emulation
TTSoff = No Loquendo TTS
FMon = FMTransmitter on
poweroff = Device switch real complete off, not only sleep"
What does any of that mean??
3)****, the more questions I think of, the more lost I get. Is the following correct.
Backup
copy basic pack w/out ASR & ttsystem to SD card
[*}copy ttsystem to SD card
Sounds simple if thats it, but how do I get the new maps to work? I also read in this thread that TTS doesn't work, then that it does. Please help....keep in mind that I ACTUALLY read the whole thread before asking for clarification.
ex300s 3rd June 2008, 13:30 Obsolete? see post dates
It's more simple that you do, if have something that you do not understand, try it like all of us, put the files poweroff, ttsoff, etc........and try what happens, if you don't trust the versions use original navcore by home.......as example:
notts means no voice computer available
Not asr folder means not voice recognition
poweroff means reebot every poweron..........etc...
As you have seen in 144 posts TTS and VR only works for x10 and x20, not are features availble for ones...
At the end, only need patch original ttsystems, all v7&v8 ttuser's versions are already...
My_Download 3rd June 2008, 13:31 TTuser,
Since you are the expert on the old devices, I'm hoping you know the answer to this one:
The "old" FM based remote controls no longer work with the V8 firmware, only the new "bluetooth" remotes are supported.
If I install the V8 firmware on my GO700 as per your instructions will it then work with one of the new bluetooth remotes ? The TomTom site claims it is not supported, but ofcourse they do not officially support V8 on a Go700 either...
In my car the Go700 is just a little bit too far away to conventiently use it without the remote, which is why I'm currently still using the V7 firmware and 720 maps.
I'd like to upgrade and would not mind buying the new remote, but only if someone "who knows" can tell me how likely that thing is to work (or not).
Thanks,
:urtheman:
TTuser 3rd June 2008, 13:52 IT is simple like that.
copy Basicpack
copy for a 510 ttsystem 5. and also noflash
activate your Map
Some wrote somewhere that BT-Remote works with older Devices.

docdoc 4th June 2008, 12:50 Does anyone have a definitive solution for making TTS work ok on a Go 500 without slowing the machine down to a crawl. I had this working fine with navcore 7. Navcore 8 works fine, except that everything slows down when the TTS voice is selected. (I've got the large TTS files rather than the smaller compressed ones). Dummy speech as solved the freezing problem one ONE.
There is another small problem now.
I've copied speed/redlight camera data with spoken alerts in the map folder.
The problem now is after selecting them in "warn when near POI", the voice disappears for both navigation(even when I click on test voice from change voice, I don't hear the sound) and POI alerts and when I try to select the speed/redlight POI, it doesnt accept the settings...
Hope I make sense to you Guru's.
I have deleted files from outsource.bin and LoquendoTTS folders and there is no ASR folder.
Please help how to solve this.
Thanks!

demonfatal 4th June 2008, 23:03 hello !
Thanks a lot !!!
But have you a solution my tomtom one is very slow... ???
ex300s 4th June 2008, 23:09 2 post up! :hehe:
ericpedro 4th June 2008, 23:17 Thanks Marsdeng for that tip - as simple as using Notepad, eh...:ashamed:
Am I right in saying that you can't get Mapshare by using this .bak file, it just stops the error message when connecting? I have updated it with my device no etc, and no longer get the error message, except when I click on the "24217 free mapshare corrections waiting" in the top right of my screen - when I do this, I am told that I'm using an invalid version of the TT application - ie the usual error message.
Does anybody know how to get mapshare on Navcore v8.002 with map 805.1801 (GB & ROI) - I have a Go 510?
I updated my mate's One to a Navcore v7 at the weekend, with new v7 maps, and the Mapshare works just dandy.
If anybody has an answer to this, or can just let me know that it's impossible and I will never be able to get it to work, than at least I won't continue to beat myself up for being stupid.:suicide:
Thanks in advance.
910user 5th June 2008, 01:14 Hi to all, and especially TTuser,
After testing navcore 8 in combination with map 805 (WCE) a lot on a 910:
- Loquendo TTS: I first tried the Loquendo TTS x30: it works but with long streetnames or places it fails, especially when the processor has a lot to do (playing mp3's, lane guidance, etc.)(I think this is caused by the fact that the files are compressed). But the older Loquendo TTS, although it takes much space on the drive, works like a charm.
- I thought I had no brightness problems, but when you put the outside light adaptation on, then the screen stays to dark. So I took the latest ttsystem and it works like charm too.
- Ericpedro: did you check mapcorrections on your navigation unit?
So it all works now!
So once more to TTuser: THNX A LOT !!
Greetings from 910user.
Corta 5th June 2008, 01:28 Strange.. I've updated to Western and Central 8.05 and now Home doesn't allow me to use MapShare... It was working just fine with 8.00...
Any ideias..?
BTW: Using a TT XL
ericpedro 5th June 2008, 01:29 Hi 910User - yeah, 'fraid so, it's all set up to receive corrections, and TT Home shows the mapshare icon until I connect my unit. The icon then disappears and is replaced by the "back up and restore" icon.
Thanks anyway.

Hi,
Done. I can see the voices in "warn when near POI" but the navigation voice is still missing. Cant hear anything even when I tap on test voice in change voices, volume and other sounds like bell1, bell2 etc.
If I remove these POI from "warn when near POI", the navigation voice starts working after restarting the device.
Please help
slamdunk2008 5th June 2008, 02:44 TTuser/everyone,
Is there a way to stop HOME software for looking for navcore update.
7.131 is installed on my ONE XL and Tomtom HOME prompts there is 7.162 update availalble each time I connect to PC.
Is there a way to stop this without getting any error like "wrong version" from HOME?

In Tomtom Home Preferences menu, un-tick the option "Check for the updated content when I'm logged in and my Tomtom device is connected to the computer"

Hi,
This will stop all the updates like safety camera etc. I want to stop only the navcore update.
Is this possible?

dwilliamsuk 5th June 2008, 18:16 Firstly, may i say many many thanks to 'TTuser' and others who have made this thread and TT upgrade as simple as possible. :good2:
I upgraded my TT GO 300 without a single problem. :excited:
Details are:
Started with an empty 512MB SD card.
Downloaded '1. Basic Pack' and copied onto SD card.
Downloaded '3. ttsystem for all devices except GO x10' and copied to SD card.
Booted TT OK (obviously no map at this stage).
Downloaded the latest 'UK&ROI v8 map' and copied directory to Root of SD card.
Ran the latest 'EasyUseTools - RunMeForAllAutomatic' - no problems.
Re-booted TT and all working OK, including the 'UK&ROI v8 map'.
Downloaded the 'Full Working Backup - Including All You Need'.
Copied the Postcode 'ZIP', Sounds, and Voices directories to Root of SD card.
Re-booted TT and everything is working as expected.
Patched PC 'Home' system and 'Operate My Go' also works fine.
So, once again, thanks to you all.... :urtheman:

First post & success! Proves that by reading/searching it can be done. Well done.
dwilliamsuk 5th June 2008, 23:32 I have to say that i am most impressed that my humble (and ageing) TomTom GO300 is capable of running these latest updates.
I was thinking of buying a newer version, but now, given that i have no need of Bluetooth connectivity, traffic reporting, and MP3 support, there is little need for any further expense (apart from the widescreen benefits).
All i want are the latest maps (+ mapshare) and the new IQ Routing and Lane Information - all provided by the updates from this site/thread. Once again, many thanks. :egdance:

You could also try to put the .ogg files back in the map folder. When they are named the same as the .ov2; you just enter "warn when near POI", add the distance and when asked "do you want to add this sound?" and you hear nothing; just say yes. and it works.
rajbrajb 7th June 2008, 04:11 does any have any good steps to update tomtom 910 to navcore 8?
Tex88 7th June 2008, 04:13 does any have any good steps to update tomtom 910 to navcore 8?
Yes, right there in the first post.
Be aware that you'll lose TTS though. Don't know about ASR, didn't try that last night when I upgraded a 910.
Write down your device ID (ABCD 1234)
Download, extract the files 1, 5 and 8 and copy to the root of your device.
Down the easytools.
Copy the maps you want to your 910.
Copy the .pna and .meta files from your map folder into "put your meta file into here" folder.
Write your device ID into the "device ID" text file.
Of the included DOS tools, run the one with option 4. Run option 4, which creates a .dct file and copy it into your map folders.
Restart your device.
Done. Piece of cake. The part that took the longest is waiting for the all the map files to get copied to the 910, thanks to the USB1.1 connector.
falcoip 7th June 2008, 05:14 Is it basically the same process for a 920? Except you use 3 instead of 5?
Why did you lose TTS?

Thanks in advance!

artful2 7th June 2008, 18:11 Can anyone confirm if Audio line out works with this version on their GO 700 ?
I've wired a standard audio stereo jack to pins 1 (ground), 5 (audio left) & 6 (audio right) on the shoe to connect into my cruiser audio system but it's not sending a signal, even though I've set the speaker output to line-out in the preferences menu.
I've done this previously with my old GO Classic running the same version 8.002.9117 software and it works perfectly.

ko0lc4t 8th June 2008, 11:12 Hello everyone,
I just bought the tt one xl-s and so I'm pretty new to this thing so don't flame me for not knowing something simple alright. My app is 7.140 and usa & canada map of v710.1575. Well, I was wondering if i want to update the navcore 8 with map v8 can i just use a 2gb sd card, is it enough? Or do i need a 4gb sd? Does that mean i should download and do 1+3+8 right? Also will I need to do anything extra from the 1+3+8 for everything to work normally? Sorry there is like 148 pages can't read all of them at the moment. Oh, also should i get this version or should i just stick with the stock version that come with my tt?
bolevo 8th June 2008, 15:31 Oh yeah!It's work!!!!

My OGG files are 22.1 kHz, 16 bits, mono I put them in a folder mp3 inside \sounds of SD card. Its not necessary to rename to the same name of POI.
When you choose warn near POI is selected, just select the OGG sound you want to use, meters... It´s works on my TomTom One Second Edition.

Search function is our friend, mate. No body expects you to be an expert to join the forum but searching and reading are the best ways to learn more about your own device.
The first post by TTuser is very clear and you should be fine if you follow the instructions. Yes, 2GB SD will hold the navcore 8.002.9117 and the NA 2GB v.805 map.
Just a reminder, always backup your device before you make any changes.

,I have been reading and learning (and doing) lots from this thread. Have got my 910 now running Navecore 8.002 with Australian Map 7.20. This map doesn't have the cspeechxxx.dat file in it. Many thanks to TTuser and Bigdave and all who post their knowledge so freely here

tomtomswe 10th June 2008, 12:28 i really like the navcore 8 but when i update the POI warning sounds like speedcam.ogg, it "hangs". no sounds output. any1 has a solution?
reject902 10th June 2008, 13:37 So i was just curious to see if anyone else was having issues with this navcore or if anyone knew of a fix for this.
My Go 510 is working perfectly great with this new release.. except for.. bluetooth.
All callers hear is an echo of themselves. I've tried this with both a Motorola v3xx and a Palm Centro. No change. I've also adjusted the volume level while in call on the go down to 5% and the echo can still be heard.
It's almost as if the MIC doesn't cancel the noise coming from the internal speaker when people are talking.
I've been having this issue every time i use a cracked navcore. Back with 7.162. Any suggestions?
