I have successfully followed directions on this forum to update my GO720 to the North America 2GB map v.7.15 just the other day...
I am now having a tough time getting the same to happen for my Dad's TomTom ONE Second/New Edition (I guess that's what it is judging from TomTom's website).
I have used the TTSystem patch on his TTSystem file, and have used the TTKeygen on the North_America_2GB-9 Map using his Device ID.
I have copied the complete contents of his GPS and the patched V.7.15 map over to a 2gb SD card. (His ONE only has 1gb of internal memory and can not use a 4gb SDHC card, so 2gb is my only option)
I can not seem to get the unit to boot from the SD card, so it will not load the new map, nor can i go into the Change Preferences > Manage Maps > Switch Map. The only maps that show up in there are Guam and the United States & Canada.
Is the system completely different from my GO? Am I going about this the wrong way? Have I got the wrong map for his specific unit? Any help is greatly appreciated as I am only here to visit him through Monday evening and it's Saturday evening now.
Thank you!

I suggest you download the USA and Canada map v7.15 that is now available and get it to work on your dad's system's internal memory. Once you have the interanl memory system working properly, you can try using the SD card with the North_America map. I suspect your dad's system is not booting from the SD card at the moment since it shows USA and Canada...
IOW get the simple update working right then try the more complex stuff. That is what I did on my XL-S: working off the internal memory with thew latest USA and Canada map and then got it to work with my SDHC card with the North America map but can also switch to internal memory if something goes wrong with a very workable map.

As someone mentioned, you don't seem to be booting from the SD card. I have had this happen on occasion as well. Try resetting the unit by shutting down the unit and pressing down on the reset button (on the bottom) for 15 seconds or so. The next time you power on the unit, it should boot from the SD card.
Also make sure that you have the same Navcore version loaded on both the internal memory as well as the SD card... A mismatch of versions causes the unit to not remember settings between reboots and might cause unpredictible results...

my issue is that i don't see how the map update will fit on the INTERNAL memory of the unit as it only has 1gb and the map I have downloaded is 1.6gb (the 2GB North_America version) Is there a smaller version of the 7.15 map?
I didn't see the map called USA and Canada 7.15 on Usenet, but I'll have a second look. EDIT: I could only find a 6.xx map on Usenet.
I don't have a rapidshare account so unless I can get the file in ONE single download, and not a series of RAR's I'm screwed there. Anyone have a link for a SINGLE file DL?
Thank you!

I doubt you'll find a reliable single d/l for this. There IS a 1Gb version (search) which will fit your internal memory but if it is a New Edition then it has an SD slot so you could use the big map on a 2Gb card.
PS a Rapidshare account is cheap as chips anyway.

yeah, I just figured it out. Basically, I had everything (the 2gb NA map patched for my dad's unit, the ttsystem file also patched) on a DVD-R that I bought with me on this visit to my dad's house.
So I had copied everything to a 4gb card I had him buy figuring it would work and that 4gb card would not read in the ONE unit... SO i went back to best buy and got a 2gb card instead... when I copied all the crap back over to that card, I forgot the all important TTSystem file that i had patched for my dad, so that's why it would not boot.
I just realized that, copied it over to the card, put it in, reset the unit, and bang it worked no problem!
Thanks for the help and suggestions to the thread. I did end up finding the 1gb version on rapidshare via a search, and then i spent the money for the account and then started to DL it, when I thought to check the 2gb card to make sure i had copied everything over! Oh well, it was only 7.20 USD.

There is a v7.15 USA and Canada map on RS uploaded from one of us that you could find if you search the threads. It is made for the ONE's internal memory.

Thanks, but the 2gb map seems to be working wonderfully with the SD card....
I just need to figure out POI files (I'm relatively new to all this)
I got some POI files for my dad for Attractions, Breweries, Wineries in Wisconsin from [Only registered and activated users can see links] and converted them using a tool from [Only registered and activated users can see links] that converts .csv to .ov2 since all the files I DL'd where in CSV...but they don't seem to work. When I go into manage POI's and select one of the ones I loaded, the screen changed to "NO PIO FOUND" or something like that.
Any ideas?

Try reading your Tomtom user manual, it is all explained there better than I could...
