I have a LG LN500 GPS and want to run other Nav software - Oziexplorer as well as some movie playing software. Since it runs Win CE I figure it should be relatively straight forward.

Has anyone done this to the LN500?

Cheers.

Did you have any luck with this? I have an LG LN500 with Destinator V6 and am looking to update to V7 and download new maps. I've managed to acquire the new programs and maps but have not been brave enough to try installing them. Don't want to stuff up my GPS if I do something wrong. Do you know if there is any particular trick to doing this? I've found info on unlocking the unit but not sure if simply unlocking and copying the new files over the old would work? I've made a backup of the old files on my PC but if it stuffs up, I'm worried I won't be able to simply copy them back onto the device. Just thought I'd see if anyone else had done this.
Thanks

You have to use "MobileRegistryEditor.exe" to open LN500.
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-init and there find
-Launch91 change LGLauncher.exe to explorer.exe
-restart your navigator
To lock the navigator: explorer -> LGLauncher
Have fun with your navigator!
