Im sorry, i dont wanna blame anyone but giving out imei (especially to person with 15 posts, who even dont want to explain how he is able to bring us personal certificates)isnt good idea at all!
I know Chinese guys from one forum generating certificates, but i dont want to publish my IMEI (really i wont someone spoof imei and put my one for some reason), because China is capital of all World`s fakes, and many fake cellphones from china have spoofed IMEI from original serial models.

Im sure these guys coded some sort of certificate generator, its pretty simple to release Their CertGen so everyone can use tool and create fake certificate with this tool.
But whats the reason they dont publish it? Why they processing all request manualy instead of make themselfs free from this work?
i think that the only reason that they have som buisness with IMEI and possibly taking money from some Chinese Fake vendor...

For me it looks like massive social engineering (disguised fooling of masses of people) , they got tool that they using to generate certificates, they not publishing this tool to force all peoples to post their imeis on public, then Chinese fake vendors collecting this Imeis and giving some cash to authors of tread.
Thats why they not lazy to process all 100000 imeis with Cert requests manually, bcoz they got cash for that.

Or maybe u just have some tool\script - Certificate Generator? Or u have legal account with publisher ID and can legally get certs for us?

I do not recomend here to anyone here to use OPDA public request (they will make cert 4 u 100% but u will pay with stolen IMEI) or help of author of the tread (who really have 0 trust), because both suspicious

I just want the certificate. One week is a reasonable amount of time (just a few more days of waiting for me) and how umair3100 does it isn't an issue to me. It's free and he's helping so he gets two thumbs up for me.

By the way, there are very many ways to get IMEIs if someone wanted to do that.

No, OPDA isnt like this, and its still doesnt make any sence, why dont they accept request via PM and via E-mail? Why should i publish there my IMEI so everyone can use it? Why they forcing everyone to do so intead of releasing their cert-gen or atleast keep our privacy safe and accept PMs instead of pulbic posts ??

Should i process everyday manualy 100000 posts or its better to release this tool so everyone can do for himselfs his own cert? Thats how my logic works, that how logic of Most of peoples works so i believe its not that easy why they doing this rutine... and why they forcing everyone to publish their imeis.

As about FCA000000 hack, 1st of all FCA explained all details of his method, he shared all the files (that gained trust), he even shared portions of asm code to use in debuger... as expirienced asm coder i checked most of it and know its safe, but anyway there is no doubt in guys sharing all details and sources.
Author of this tread and OPDA guys not from that sort... thats why i dont trust them my IMEI. If u guys dont understadn how important to keep imei safe then check WIKI for all imei related stuff to know that its not good idea to post on OPDA forums your Imei!!!

The S60 Theme Studio asks for the Symbian Signed key to be able to proceed by making a .sis file of your Theme. Getting a Symbian Signed key is naturally not worthwhile in the testing phase due to the costs of the key, so creating your own private key is worth the effort. For creating a private key for testing purposes (only), do as follows:
• Open Command Prompt.
• Select target directory. It is normally cd C:\Program Files\Series_60_Theme_Studio\S60_TS_3_0\bin
• Create a key with the following line (replace MyCompany with your company’s information):
makekeys -v -cert -len 2048 -dname "CN=MyComp OU=Themes OR=MyCompany CO=FI EM=feedback@mycompany.com" MyCompany.key MyCompany.cer
• After the password is queried, answer No.
• For creating a random number, type about hundred characters or move the mouse in the screen.
• When you are creating the .sis file, open the Advanced dialog and place your keys there. The keys are in the same directory where you created them.

After having created the key, you can make a .sis file of your Theme, transfer it to a device, and test it.

Its clearly visible that tool MAKEKEYS from old Nokia theme editor s60 v3 can generate certificates for testing purposes, im not sure that same MAKEKEYS tool present in a package of Carbide.UI (but maybe its included) but we all just should try to find that MAKEKEYS from old Nokia theme editor s60 v3 or Carbide.UI s60 and try to generate keys and use them with various SIS files... atleast if this tool making real deal (i mean real certs) but with limited rights its very possible to reverse engineer it, to learn how it producing certs and then modificate disassembly code to make new version that will capable to create 100% working certs.

IMEI and the law
Many countries have acknowledged the use of the IMEI in reducing the effect of mobile phone theft, which has increased exponentially over the last few years[citation needed]. For example, in the United Kingdom under the Mobile Telephones (Re-programming) Act, changing the IMEI of a phone, or possessing equipment that can change it, is considered an offence under some circumstances.

There is a misunderstanding amongst some regulators that the existence of a formally allocated IMEI number range to a GSM terminal implies that the terminal is approved or complies with regulatory requirements. This is not the case. The linkage between regulatory approval and IMEI allocation was removed in April 2000 with the introduction of the European R&TTE Directive. Since that date, IMEIs have been allocated by BABT (acting on behalf of the GSM Association) to legitimate GSM terminal manufacturers without the need to provide evidence of approval.

Other countries use different approaches when dealing with phone theft. For example, mobile operators in Singapore are not required by the regulator to implement phone blocking or tracing systems, IMEI-based or other. The regulator has expressed its doubts on the real effectiveness of this kind of systems in the context of the mobile market in Singapore. Instead, mobile operators are encouraged to take measures such as the immediate suspension of service and the replacement of SIM cards in case of loss or theft.[1]


Blacklist of stolen devices
When mobile equipment is stolen or lost, the operator or owner will typically contact the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) which blacklists the device in all operator switches so that it will in effect become unusable, making theft of mobile equipment a useless business.

The IMEI number is not supposed to be easy to change, making the CEIR blacklisting effective. However this is not always the case: IMEI may be easy to change with special tools and operators may even flatly ignore the CEIR blacklist.


Now im expaining examples of your risk:

1. You all posting your imeis on public at OPDA or give imeis to author of this tread or other helper, then they posting your Imeis on OPDA.
2. Everyone could visit that site and collect all imeis for imei DATABASE
NOTE: Most likely that imeis required for unlockers of thefted devices or for Chinese fake manufacturers who making cheap clones of out beloved nokia phones
3. These bad guys taking your imei and programing ONE or TWO or even more devices with same IMEI that u have, (u need to keep in mind that there r many thefts and fakers who can use same IMEI at same time)
4. As result somewhere in this world appearing FEW CLONES of your phone that seems to be identical for OPERATORS

whats bad in that?

5.1 In situation if any of guys who bought phone with COPY of YOUR IMEI will lost it your IMEI and your SMARTPHONE (including all clone-phones with same IMEI) will be baned by Central Equipment Identity Register and baned by many OPERATORS in this world, so even change of sim card will not help u to make your phone useable, it will become a garbage.
5.2 There is not a big chance but still it exist that persone who have cloned-phone with same IMEI u have may be client of same Operator network as u...
U know what this mean? Its mean that some Operators can not accept TWO phones with same IMED to be connected to Operator network at same time.
Yes your phone will have chance to become unusable in some networks, and dont forget about 5.1 risk
5.3 Some crimes can use YOUR IMEI ti make some calls with fake id and then waste this phone with YOUR IMEI, if they would did something really terrible during investigation and Checking you may become suspect just because u have had same IMEI in your phone as crime, and then u will have problems with law and lost your nerves.... its not really big chance for such situation but its also possible in our world.
5.4 Almost same as 5.3 but with few exeptions Some man who know exacly u are can do a major setup for u by using your IMEI.
5.5 What was created to be unique should remain unique but after u will publish it, everyone can duplicate it, in any cases it will not be good for you and your phone, in most cases your phone may easy become blacklisted and unusable and u also could have problems with law.

SO U STILL WANT TO PUBLISH YOUR IMEI ????
The only safe option is to use hacks or force OPDA to make user posts with imeis not availble to public, but we still have no waranty that they not collecting our IMEIS, its still highly possible that they can sell IMEI database to chinese fake manufacturers... its china, PIRACY and FAKE capital in the world.
CHINA is last country in the world that we can trust, really it have no trust
becoz even original segate\maxtor HDDs manufactured in china may come out in retail box infected by trojan that collecting WOW accaunts because some worker of factory decided to get some money by collecting and selling WOW accaunts but officially it just was unlucky not incident.... any one of u want to get his own certificate can email his Imei and phone model,
and leave rest to mine..........

i will give u a certificate for your imei

but all of you who post their Imei should be remain calm and show patience...
as acquiring certificate can take a week or may be two weeks...
but believe me the certificate will work like a charm and will not cost u a single

I agree with you fully! IMIEs are meant to be unique. If they are NOT, the entire virtue of IMIE is lost (i.e., it's uniqueness)! If many people make their IMIE public, then the blacklisting procedure will not longer be effective!

I fully blame NOKIA and the stupid Symbian for creating the SymbianSucked err.. SIGNED MESS. Thought I fully agree that Symbian platform is better than ever, it still has the signing restriction!

But I guess only due to the signing process, there are not any viruses for the Symbian 9.0 :D
And that is the only advantage that I could think of..... :)

How does this Dev Cert thing work exactly ?

I've been trying to sign all my programs I get with Symbian sign online and sometimes they don't work (well most times) keep getting errors while trying to sign them :(

And I really want to get some of these programs working for my phone as there are some really cool apps for the N82 and N95.

johnmiceter ... SS doesn't work on much - Only on Open Signed releases, and NOT cracks!
Getting a dev cert will allow signing of just about everything - So you can have cracks...
There are threads on how to sign your apps, and since i just wrote this, its given me an idea to make my own post on signing...

msn, yahoo and gmail is not the problem
problem is which are not public or are more secured and they wont accept the mail with attachment specially from unknown person...e.g rediff mail, t-mobile.sk, etc
solution is when u mail me from id other than mentioned above then add me to ur buddy list so that my mail will not be filtered

The single certificate will work for any app that you want to sign for your phone only...
Not for other phone as certificate are based on IMEI of phone...

You dont install it, use SignSis to sign apps

no need to install it, just download any binpda c*****d application, u will find signing tool in the rar file also
