SmartGPX for S60 - Release notes
================================
Version 0.10.6 (Changes since 0.9.4)
------------------------------------
Platforms:
- S60 2nd edition
- S60 3rd edition
SmartGPXAddOn
- Required version: 0.3.0
Global note:
- The data base layout of both the Geocache-DB and the Local-DB was changed and
is not backward compatible. SmartGPX will ask to delete these files. Local set
"Finds" and "Notes" are will be lost!!! There is no conversion function yet.
SmartGPX will ask after eache program start if you decide to not delete these files.
Major Changes:
- This SmartGPX version contains a preparation for Landmark Export and Navigation
functions.
This requires a "SmartGPXAddOn" package
*** THAT MUST BE SIGNED WITH A DEVELOMENT CERTIFICATE ***
must be installed on S60 3rd edition devices to enable this feature. I'll try to
get this package Symbian Signed in the near future.
On S60 2nd edition the AddOn DLL and Server is included within the SmartGPX Package
because no signing is required on Symbian OS before version 9.1
- The SmartGPXAddOn package enables the following features:
- Retrieval of the current position from the built-in or connected GPS Receiver
- Usage of the GPS position in "Find nearest", "Set My Location" and "Filter by
distance"
- There will be a simple "Navigate to Geocache" function in the near future.
- Export of Geocache items to the Landmarks Database. The exported Landmarks can
be used with other applications, that use the Landmarks DB (e.g. Navigator,
Landmarks and Nokia Maps). Exported Geocaches will be assigned to the Category
"Geocache"
- Start of external applications from SmartGPX
- Navigator (GPS-Daten)
- Landmarks (Orientierungspunkte)
- Nokia Maps
- Export/Remove currently displayed Geocache from Detail view to Landmarks DB
- Start applications from Detail view
(Changes in 0.10.5 ALPHA, not released)
- Improved Landmarks export and removal
- Remove all Geocache landmarks
- Added Icons for Landmarks and Categories
- Removed local landmark DB (unnecessary)
(Changes in 0.10.0 ALPHA, not released)
- Improvement of the "Position Enter" dialog.
- Latitude/Longitude can now be entered as "<seg> dd╟ mm.mmmm'" or
"<seg> dd╟ mm' ss.sss"".
- The current position can now be retrieved from built-in or connected GPR Receiver.
NOTE: This required the separate installation of the SmartGPXAddOn package
- Removed the "Search" menu item. The search dialog can now be opened with any
numeric key.
- Support for cache type "Wherigo"
- Downloaded pictures will now be stored on c:\data\SmartGPX\Images or d:\data\SmartGPX\Images
This is a kind of preparation for the Spoilersync integration.
Bug fixes:
- Local set "Find" attributes were not handled correctly in the Geocache list. Found
geocaches were not displayed when the list was shown first and ignored later on.
- The were several issues with longer Geocache waypoint names that occured crashed.
This doesn't happen with most pocket queries but with GSAK exports.
- Fixed bug in distance calculation
- Hints will now be displayed scrambled/unscrambled depending on previous setting
after picture download
Known issues:
- Sometimes the background of the Geocache Detail view is not painted correctly. I've
investigated this issue but I couldn't fix it yet because it seems to be a bug in
a Symbian component (CEikRichTextEditor). If this happens just scroll up/down in
the Geocache list view and try to open another Geocache detail description.
Features of the current version:
* Read Pocket Queries in GPX format available for Premium Members at geocaching.com.
* Opened GPX files from filesystem (phone memory on C:\ or memory card on E:\).
