View Full Version : India Map And Asia Maps For Nokia Maps
crashcode 22nd April 2008, 21:30 Unzip the downloaded map files and drop them into the appropriate folders on your memory card.
On my Nokia the folder structure is cities with a subfolder called diskcache, filled with subfolders called 0 to 9 and a to f, and each of these folders have a series of subfolders 0 to 9 and a to f of their own.
Map files have the extension .cdt. Example:
[memory card]\cities\diskcache\6\d\filename.cdt.
• On some Nokia phones maps are stored in:
\Private\20001f63\diskcache\6\d\filename.cdt.
• You may need to tell your computer to show hidden files and folders.
• Voices for all versions of Nokia Maps.
[memory card]\cities\english\etc.

sandy_1988 22nd April 2008, 22:25 Are these maps of any use? Some time back I loaded the India map on my N73-1, to find the maps had so scarce data, that it felt better to just remove them. Is the condition somewhat better now?
Anyway, thanks for the effort.

Direct links for official nokia maps can be find here [Only registered and activated users can see links] (there are India too) and must say that lately there was directory [Only registered and activated users can see links] too. All that files are different sizes and not allways 0.0.9h are the bigest.

netarchie 3rd July 2008, 21:16 Can i load maps of two different countires? e,g India and say Thailand ?
mike_24_11 3rd July 2008, 22:01 These are the maps provided by Nokia officially for Free!
Just download and install nokia maps on your phone at [Only registered and activated users can see links]
1. Download nokia map loader provided on the same link.
2. Run nokia maps once on your phone.
3. Attach phone to PC with Data Transfer Mode.
4. Run Map loader.
5. Download maps directly to phone.
You can download many other maps of your interest too.
It's really very Simple and effective indeed!
I'm using these for a week.
You can also transfer the Map Data by just copying the "cities" folder from Memory card!
Good Luck.
Note : First try to install the specified version for your phone on Nokia site.
If you tried to install higher version first than you need to Format your phone before you can install the Specified version.
Though specified version for your phone is 1.0/1.2 on nokia site, once installed 1.0/1.2, you can update it with 2.0 without any problem. 2.0 is much Faster and Better.
But at first install only specified version on site.
Note : Maps are available for only 7 - 8 big cities of India. Including AHMEDABAD, JAIPUR, DELHI, MUMBAI, PUNE, BANGALORE and 2-3 more, I dont remember.
