I am facing a typical problem with Yahoo Messenger, most of the times i cannot use my webcam, yahoo doesnot detect it but at the same time Skype and Live Messengers works fine with my webcam. I am using a HP DV6395EA Laptop with VISTA OS and build in 1.3M camera.
Anybody experienced pls suggest to resolve the issue :thanks:

1st connect & run ur cam in yahoo

go "Messenger>preferences" next see picture.



select ur cam name.

I have done this, but it works and sometimes it doesnt work

Just do that procedure every time your webcam does not detected by yahoo messenger.

Try this.
Uninstall webcam and messenger. Install webcam then look for amcap at the installation folder to check your cam if working then install the messenger.

I cannot install and uninstall everytime, the webcam works first time i open PC and after closing the webcam in yahoo and reopening again it will not work.

check out with the drivers ..check out in device manager..after connecting if u get any yellow mark..try to uninstall the drivers and do scan for hardware changes...

it will try to load the drivers..put the drivers cd which came with web cam..if not choose the path 4m where drivers as to be loaded...

There is no Driver problem and this is my Laptop with integratede Webcam, device manager doesnot show any " ? " for the webcam.

if it is integrated also it will show in device manager....uninstall and scan for hardware changes...

else reinstall the application of web cam..I think they would have given some application cd's for tat web cam

buddy i got only RECOVERY CD, and there is no problem with the webcam. It works in Live Messenger, Skype. Only Yahoo creates problem.

Have you tried YM Vista version? Use Vista or XP version then try which one is compatible with your webcam.

ok man..may be problem with ur yahoo messenger....

ok try this open other chat messenger along with yahoo messenger and see..is there any issue...

yahoo servers acting up. even voice cannot connect.
