Here's how you could change your Startup animation.
YES! It's the way to get rid of the shaking hands!

- First Enable CAPS OFF
- Use FileBrowser and go to Z:\resource\apps
- Copy the startup.mbm, startup.mif and the rsc file corresponding to your installed language (*.r01 = english, *.r03 = german, etc.) to C:\resource\apps
- Now browse to C:\resource\apps and press '8' on the startup.rXX file. now you have the hex view of the file.
- Scroll down to line 000050 (it's 000050 in startup.r03. It can differ on other resource files. Just make sure you you are in the line where is written the path.)
- change hex value '5A' which stands for 'Z' to '43', which will be 'C'.
- After saving the file, on boot, device will look in C:\resource\apps for the Startup.mbm and use it! :)
- So copy some modded startup.mbm there.

just like to make comment on the first tutorial.. i think there is a mislead on the process... "startup.mbm" should not copy on the C: folder because this may cause conflict on C: folder regarding on your mbm fle to be attach. IN short, do not include to copy startup.mbm on C folder in the first 3 steps...

FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED HACKED phone 9.X
1.unrar pack there you will find 101F8763.txt and Startup.mp3 ---where can i get/find those rar pack? Is that on Z folder?
2.put 101F8763 to С:/private/10202be9/101F8763.txt (maybe you will need to create new folder 10202be9) --- just copy or move?
3.put Startup.mp3 to E:\\Sounds\\Simple\\Startup.mp3
4.that's all now turn off you phone and turn on you will have new start-up sound. you may edit Startup.mp3 file but remember it must not be longer than 10 sec !!! --- can i put other .mp3 title (10secs) on E:\\Sounds\\Simple\\Startup.mp3??
For example, nokiatone.mp3 instead of Startup.mp3?

first, go to your Z folder and copy the 101F8763 then paste to C folder.
Then edit it the text file to
E:\\sound\\simple\startup.mp3

that's it!

BTW, i experienced that vefore, i already did the procedures but i failed but this time i did it.. All i do is just follow above procedures... try it and then tell me the results...

I have 4 startup.rXX files. Possibly it is because of my phone was bought in Asia with English, simplified Chinese, Melayu and Indonesia languages.

I decided to change all the startup.rXX files and DONE!!! Works flawlessly on my E90 210.34.75 hacked.

The problem of startup and shutdown operator animation usually occurs to phones acquired from operators in Brazil, Italy and many others, and can be solved as the following:

STARTUP

The sub startup animation can be replaced by a new one(for a longer startup animation together with the default) or ignored.

1. Copy the Z:\Resources\Apps\OPERATORANIMATION.rsc to C:\RESOURCES\APPS\OPERATORANIMATION.rsc

2. Press 8 in x-plore, menu, edit chars, and replace Z: with C: (line 000028) in the copied file. Be careful to maintain the default file names, folder names and case letters. If the file size changes, some phone buttons will not work.

3. If the sub startup animation is desired, copy any startup animation(.mbm) to C:\Resources\Apps and rename to operatoranimation.mbm. If you don't want sub startup animation just create a fake operatoranimation.mbm (like a empty txt file) and copy to C:\Resources\Apps.

it didn't work mate. all i get is a white screen after my default one which is nokia startup originally just after my nokia startup i get vodafone animation. but now it's just a white screen. so with my shutdown. if u can share ur sub start up and shut down and i'll try it again. thanks!

It works great

But there is a problem with this startup and all the startups i have , there is a blank screen at the end of the startup that lasts for about 2 sec then comes my phone screen . i.e the startup is cut at its end.

I dont know why this happens, if you know a solution pls tell me.

Until now noone had confirmed ot working on 5700 and some other devices. see first post. It's because some devices have more priority on Disk Z: so the startup files won't be read from C:

I'm trying to make a bios startup screen for my E65. I've looked up the specs for E65 at the link mentioned above. To be sure I get everything correct, I compared the figures for N95 from the Nokia site with the quoted post above. The problem is I don't see the same figures for memory sizes at the Nokia site and in the quoted post above. Or, they don't seem similar to me. Shouldn't I be able to compare the figures for N95? Can someone please explain this to me?

I found the answer for my questions myself by installing NSysInfo (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=127778&highlight=NSysInfo). So I made an E65 bios startup. Old firmware I guess.

Secondly, I will take a slight step to the left and say... CLEARLY not many people have 320x240 resolution phones, in the entire 40 pages of this topic there is only TWO startup animations. I've tried to copy and replace the SysApShutdownAnimation.rsc (I've change the letter Z to C) and copy my own SysAp.mbm animation but I still can see the operator logo and not mine!! :suicide:

I have E50 and i'll try to copy startup.mbm, startup.mif and language rsc file to C:\resource\apps and I can't do this :( I have notification: "Can't open a file C:\resource\apps\Startup.mbm" What I'm doing wrong or what I should do?

I dont know what im doing wrong, or maybe not, but...
i'll copy startup.mbm, startup.mif and language rsc file to memory card, then i change the Z: to C: in startup.r27 and again when im trying copy this files with modified startup.mbm instead original or with original mbm, doesnt matter, to C:\resource\apps i have the same error :(

I dont know what i should do to do this correctly :(

try use hellocarbide which came with the drakkarious compilation.
i find this fixes about 99% of my access errors through x-plore.

ok people i found a solution why its not working on some phone.

- First Enable CAPS OFF
- Use FileBrowser and go to Z:\resource\apps
- Copy the startup.mbm, startup.mif and the rsc file corresponding to your installed language (*.r01 = english, *.r03 = german, etc.) to C:\resource\apps
- Now browse to C:\resource\apps and press '8' on the startup.rXX file. now you have the hex view of the file.
- Scroll down to line 000050
- change hex value '5A' which stands for 'Z' to '43', which will be 'C'.
- After saving the file, on boot, device will look in C:\resource\apps for the Startup.mbm and use it!

where it says "Scroll down to line 000050", on my phone it does not have 000050, instead its 000051.

i wud like to share my Experience i tried every lil single techniuqe given on ipmart forum to chnge startup but it dint work so i did lil extra work as my phone N82 blk doesnt has startup.r01 instead .r10 .r37.r57 in z: so i copied all of em n thn modified line 000050 in all the files n now it works If MODS THINK MY POST IS STUPID KINDLY REMOVE IT THNX

OK, now i can copy files to C but is nothing happen, when i start the phone, still i have original welcome screen with ugly Nokia hands :D

I have N78 but do not work and I did not find this command "z\ select bmb ..........

but any way thx a lot
