Hi guys today you will learn how to change any icon of installed app in C or E.

Lets begin :ashamed:

Tools that you will need

1. Unsis 2.5 and Xplore

2. an app with the desired icon to change the original icon (for example best call recorder to change TotalRecall icon)

3. Now use Unsis to unpack Bestcall recorder and extract it.

4. Look for the file called BCallRecorder_0x2000FE5A_aif.mif

5. name it to TotalRecall.mif (you must know the real app name in this case is like I wrote but can chage (sometimes could appear with UID: BCallRecorder_0x2000FE5A_aif)[/COLOR])

6. Send the TotalRecall.mif to your phone (I use Bluetooth to send it to my inbox).

7. Search it it xplore.

8. Once you fond the file just replace it in C: or E: \resource\apps\paste it.

9. go to you menu and voilá ;) the BestCallRecorder icon is now a TotalRecall icon

I have change the Tyscreensaver icon and TotalRecall icon see

You can repleace also icons of apps from z drive, but you need to copy *.rXX file of target app to c drive (like with changing startup image, which is described on forum

Great ... let me try than with some favourite icons ... i cannot believe that can be so simple - just rename icon with exact program name and replace(overwrite the original one) in to the C: or E: \resource\apps\ ...
Thanx, must try ... rep ++++ ;)

Roland thanks for help our friend above.

Make sure you give the exact name.

TotalRecall.mif is the true icon name of TotalRecall so you copy

BCallRecorder_0x2000FE5A_aif.mif and rename it like this TotalRecall.mif, ok?

Try and give me feedback. It's simple :)

Dropped it in the N95 8GB and due 2 the installation of rotateme in c:, I have placed it there in c:/resource/apps

Rebooted and:

Thanx Swanky ....... (again)....

U know...
I think it's missing ion the description that U first have to copy the *.mif string with use of unsis.
Then extract the app u want 2 change and change that new with the name U have copied B4...

Now when i put it in c:
It stated overwright yes or no.....

So, maybe the description can B updated?

I still don't it in the first post.
With your help i did....

Hello Albertobom! Many thanks for the great work.:) The procedure can be made whole by telephone: by not using the program unsis but application in python for symbian 3rd edition called smartsis that also has the function of breaking the files sis. As unsis ago. Here is a screenshot as I split the file sis best call recorder with smartsis.

No mistery here: just read this after discovering it myself. The only thing we need to know is that the aif_mif files contain the app icon. If we replace it with the icon of another app keeping the original filename and restarting the phone, the change is made. And that can only be done in hacked phones.

My problem is a little deeper: how to use PNG or even SVG icons (like those in Flahorn icon pack) in substitution for the apps MIF icon?
