Finally - one must understand all the txt files in z:/private/202be9 - no need to patch every time.

I did some research and found the files responsible for the shortcuts of e90's inner keyboard (like desk, contacts, messaging, web, notes, calendar, my own).

I always wished to change the activenotes shortcut to notes (which is syncml able). Here we go :

1 - Delete compiled txt file c:/private/10202be9/persists/10281cdc.cre.
2 - copy same file as txt from z./private/10202be9/ to c:/private/10202be9
3 - edit 10281cdc.txt and change line 0x2 of [main] to uid of notes (10005907)
4 - make sure 0x1 is 0x1020E4FA
5 -reboot and voila - notes shortcut key finally starts notes and a long press on the same key goes to active notes.

For the other shortcuts:
The same one could do with the calendar key (look up one of the 10281c* files - 0x2 of [main] section shows uid of application to start - calendar for example has uid 10005901).
!!! Make sure 0x1 is 0x1020E4FA!!!
And then again - delete cre file, copy txt from z to c and restart.

!!!addition!!!
to also change the key assignment for the action if you press the key longer use files with uid 10282b* !!! - so one could leave nokia web on web shortcut and opera on long press web short cut ! (dont forget to check that 0x1 is 1020e4fa)

where can I find the UIDs for the different programs? I am trying to map the Web key to opera mini

start opera mini - open y-task and opera mini is shown in task list with its uid !

My c:\PRIVATE\10202be9 does not include any files. There is a sub folder - persists. Can I use the files from that subfolder? I tried once but does not work. Thanks for the patience.

You can delete mentioned files in there - they get re-created!

I can't seem to make this work. My phone is hacked but the files in the z: and c: in those folders do not match. I followed exactly the instructions but it is not happening. Please help - uid of opera is 102033E6. The file that controls the web key - 10281ce3. I changed line 2 - to the opera's uid and copied to c: but nothing's happening.

if I place 10281CE4.txt from Z: to C: and change to UID of aquacalendar, after press the calendar key it only says: "Item no longer available, restorign origianl setting" and nothing happens. Please help.

OK, so it works even the 10281CE4.cre is missing in C: the only problem I got - the UID of AguaCalendar in my E90 is different from UID placed here :)

excellent find just like to add I only had to do the below steps for both notes and web.

also I tried the Opera Mini which I have installed got an error saying no longer available and so on, im assuming this could be a version issue, what version Opera mini are are you using?

You can also change the key side with another application? (ex: Alon mp3 Dict.)
