TomTom Have Released new maps today strangely though V8.05 for x30 and V7.20 for others, I assume that V8 contain all the data for Advance Lane and IQ Routes and V7.20 don't. Shame on TomTom.

Anyway please post V8.05 UK and Ireland Map or Western Europe as soon as available thanks.

Might be because the V8 maps need Navcore V8 to run, which only the x30 devices 'officially' have (although it's easy enough to do via the emulator).

Looking forward to seeing UKROI V8 maps running!

Looks like IQRoutes are still updated within the map though I did hear a quote from TT's CTO saying it could be possible to update similar to mapshare, another paid service income in the future?

Uzin22, try any route in UK that involves a motorway, see if your demo shows lane guidance when run at 200%. Here it seems all work. Perhaps Norway is not updated. But I do not know.

They are so impatient for Darius. When I had 72Mb/s. I still only could download at 500kB/s and yey was 42 mins each upload of 100 MB. Even on slower download, upload is still pathetic.

This is, because you receive the map via TT-Home in 1 ZIP-archive (1.8GB), and at RapidShare you can only upload files of max 100MB . . . !

So . . .

I have a doubt and I ask to you, kindly, if the Western_and_Central_Europe_800_1766 map is more recent of Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB or not and vice-versa.
What the differences?

My TTGO720 works well with 8.002 NavCore and the Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB or the Western_and_Central_Europe_800_1766 map.

I have a doubt and I ask to you, kindly, if the Western_and_Central_Europe_800_1766 map is more recent of Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB or not and vice-versa.
What the differences?

I bought a tomtom 930 today, and I cant upgrade it to the new maps because the only tomtom covered by latest map guarantee is the x20 series according to tomtom home...

would I be right in assuming that I can copy the application and install it on a 920 and save myself £120... lol

What do I need to do to get the update?

And please upload both maps (NA and WE) to rapidshare! Please please please....Tomtom customer service rep told me that they will not be releasing upgrade to version for 920 ever! So the only choice though that is obvious for me (who bought 920 several months ago) to get the map from internet...Although I can pay, they dont want to take it....And they pissed us all, by releasing THE SAME UNIT (hardware), and artificially cutting our access to v8...

Thats what TTUser is for...he turns our 720/920 into the 730/930

They may ask you to provide (scan or fax) a copy of your invoice, once checked okay, then they will put it in your account so that next time you connect your TT with TT Home, it will download the new map.

I strongly suggest you give them a call so that you can get what you are entitled for. Don;t waste it up...it's yours.

I have no problems with Iberia map. It works here fine, but I would make a small suggestion to the uploader that he removes his home address and the dct file from the rar as it would be easy to trace origin.

That's right. I did the same with my OneXL - TTHome didn't allow me to upgrade from EE710 to EE715, I called them, they asked for a copy of the invoice to verify I bought the device less than 30days ago. A few days later I had my new map :)

Yes but there does not seem to be any V805 of WE=&CE available for download yet,

(I am still fighting to get my free upgrade to V805 from TomTom) who are now saying that the *30 range is excluded from the Map Guarantee and does not qualify

Having never tried hacking my TomTom before I was a little apprehensive and half expected to brick my TomTom!

I downloaded your v720.1803 map to my TT910 and followed the TomTom hacking tutorial.

It worked perfectly first time :excited:

TomTom Home downloaded all the map share changes and worked as if I’d purchased the maps “officially”.

It is best to upload the whole mapfolder. The personal settings are
stored in MapSettings.cfg file in the map folder. You can delete this file
before uploading.

I am sure the Gurus will work on getting the .dct etc figured out. Without
it no one else will be able to use if anyhow.....

Looking forward to see your upload. Also, they have been suggestions to use other filesharing sites, other than Rapidshare. You may want o give that
a go too.

toc is Home file for unpacking zip file ( look inside the zip, the names should look funny. Only send if you post the zip file ) & activation is to (re)load your map and is specific to your download & device - no share this.

Easiest way is copy the North_America folder back to your computer from your device. Delete mapsettings.cfg and North_America.meta.dct from this folder.
then
Use archiver/splitter like winrar and/or hjsplit to create chunks of <100Mb ( assuming you are uploading to rapidshare, etc.. ). Upload & post links. Job done.

Yes ricardjs, mapshare works with v720 Europe map.....so long as your HOME .dll is patched. I have an x10 on v8.002 and a One on v7.221 navcore, patched .dll for both, v720 map on both.....all is perfect.

portugal/spain/canary islands i think are covered in W&CE

Bear in mind the Regional maps are 100Mb-250Mb whereas the Europe maps are 1-6Mb-1.7Mb.

So you are quite correct, however, the Iberia map is aimed at those people who travel around their own country or locale, and do not need a full street level Europe map. The Regional maps usually have major routes of Europe built in, too.

Smaller file size, no need for new SD card, whatever reason.....
If you have room on your card, go large!!! Else, stay small.

Yes, if he runs TTUser's program, he will be able to do this and then share. We have several maps downloaded, but no meta, because uploader didn't do and without, it is useless. It is why there is no Southern Africa 705.1513 etc. We have maps but no Blowfish, so are not in my Meta.txt

TomTom Have Released new maps today strangely though V8.05 for x30 and V7.20 for others, I assume that V8 contain all the data for Advance Lane and IQ Routes and V7.20 don't. Shame on TomTom.

It takes someone to either use latest maps guarantee or buy it.. That is why you have to be paitient as these people are doing it and it could cost them money espescially the 805 maps as they are not included in the latest maps

You are talking about WCE 800, not 805, so were of older maps. 805 and 720 maps are from Q1 2008, although many errors still persist.

Uploading is personally putting it on a server ( i.e. megaupload, rapidshare ) yourself, on your own, without interference or assistance from any other being, website, entity living or dead, animal, mineral or vegetable...... and then posting links to where others may find it.

I had Navcore 8 with 7.15 maps on internal memory installed and working.

1.) I simply replaced the the map folder. 7.15 out & 805 in.

2.) Then I did did NOTHING MORE than open easytools [Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck]

3.) RunMeforAllAutomatic > option one

That's all I did. I didn't mess with meta file or any of the other steps as i've done before.

I was very surprised at how easy this upgrade was. I was expecting to have to go thru all the steps

Ok. I was able to make the v8 maps work. However, I have a TTOne second ed. so it won't fit in the internal memory. I have it working now on a 2Gb SD card, but as this v8 map is much bigger than the 715 I had, I can't put the loquendo voices to use TTS. I was wondering if anyone has the US and Canada new 720 which is supposed to use 847Mb.

Why North_America_2GB 8.05 is just 1.69 GB in size? On tomtom map shop web page it is stated that 8.05 for 930 should be 1.9 GB. Probably 1.69 GB version posted here is the one from TT730. Why North_America_2GB 8.05 is just 1.69 GB in size?



It [8.05] also has a smaller POI / CRPOI

I just replaced um with the larger set off the 920

cnode and others are also smaller...Lets wait for complete map from 930 though. One great man here on forum promised me to upload them as soon as he get them.

Really? Is Rapidshare the best? I wish the forum members
used other sites like Megaupload. For example, for the NA v8.05 maps
that are available on Megaupload and Rapidshare, I started to download
from both sites simulatneously, ie part01 from Megaupload and the part14
from Rapidshare.

I managed to download Parts 01 to 11 from Megaupload and parts 12 to 14
from Rapidshare!!. In other words, Megaupload is 4 times better than
rapidshare.

I believe similar concerns have been raised by other members too...

I pay very little money for a rapidshare premium account and can download at up to 70mbits/s across multiple files. I love it.

I had Navcore 8 with 7.15 maps on internal memory installed and working.

1.) I simply replaced the the map folder. 7.15 out & 805 in.

2.) Then I did did NOTHING MORE than open easytools [Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck]

3.) RunMeforAllAutomatic > option one

That's all I did. I didn't mess with meta file or any of the other steps as i've done before.

Only thing on my internal memory [other than maps] is the NAVCORE. That's readily available [to download and install] throughout the forum.

still no sign of UK & Ir map v7.20........pls help where i can find them.

The above version UK&IE v720 has no TTS voices.
Your standard TT voices will work just fine.

TTS voices read extra info ( street names, etc) plus messages & stuff.
Standard voices just read navigation instructions, (turn left, right, etc.. )

meta.text goes in keygen directory, so tt7_keygen.exe can read it when creating .dct file to enable/activate map for your device.

I have not navigate far yet, but it works. The TTS works...and the SPEECH Input works....( I did however leave out several files for the states that I have no intention of visiting in order to allow it to FIT on my 720, with the large POI databases)

Apparently TomTom aren't honouring the map guarantee on 930's, Also 930's come with Western and Central Europe but V8.05 Western Europe and Central Europe are sold as separate maps.

TomTom are trying to get out of the latest map guarantee by forcing them to buy them separately.

Do you mean the text to speech or voice recognition?

The text to speak is feature is natively supported by units which are already capable and no additional files are required.

You insert *.pna and *.meta in the folder "insert_meta_from_map_here to create *.dct
*.dct is for specific device.

run RunMeforDCT.cmd

Just replace these files with the crpoi.dat and poi.dat of your current 805map. It will change the 1600MB map to a 1900MB monster! This contains the missing 300MB in 805 maps

We dont downgrade the map from 805 to 800. We just add the missing 300MB in the 805 map for 730(which is posted here; nobody has posted 805 map for 930 here)with these files.
So, in effect, we have a working 805 map for 930 if you add these files.

I was surprised to find many changes on the new map (in my area), seems a lot of differences when compared to the old 715 map...

I installed the Western_and_Central_Europe v720.1803 map on my Classic
Works Well Lots Of Changes In My Area also (North West Uk)
Its Even Got An Updated Road They Only Just Finishing Still got cones Up Brill
I Put The Uk&RI On Same Changes But Much Faster (Its a Smaller map) On My classic

There's only one problem, I've installed the UK and IE 720 maps with a one XL with the TTS files installed. Unfortunately, it reads out the wrong street names. It reads out a street name at a similar part of the alphabet (it still begins with the right letter) but not the correct name for the road. When looking at the map on-screen, it shows the correct names on-screen, but the TTS reads out the wrong name.

The TTS worked 100% fine with 715 maps though.

Any idea why? Is there a file which contains a list of street names? I had a look through the CSPEECH files and the loquendo files with a text editor but couldn't see anything appropriate...

uncheck speech preferances: screen 1: everything except read aloud st names and rd number. screen 2: check only disable keep to hwy lane....
