View Full Version : No Camera Sounds in Pre-FP1 phones
illegible 8th May 2008, 16:52 Its now possible! (Thanks to FCA again ;) )
First apply this patch: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=253109
For phones with Camcorder files:
Download the attached files (CameraFiles for Camcorder app in phone), put it in the phone and extract it in C:\ (You cando it using X-plore by opening the archive and pressing "4" to extract). Then test if the capture sound is gone!
If the edited file doesn't work for you try to copy from Z:\resources\apps\ Camcorder.r01 (look here for the different language files: <> (http://www.fileupyours.com/view/180398/RSC%20files%20info.txt))
to C:\resources\apps\
After that you have to edit it with hex editor, to point to the empty sound files.
For all the tree files:
"z:\system\sounds\digital\CamcorderCapture.wav" to "c:\system\sounds\digital\CamcorderCapture.wav"
"z:\system\sounds\digital\CamcorderStart.wav" to "c:\system\sounds\digital\CamcorderStart.wav"
"z:\system\sounds\digital\CamcorderStop.wav" to "c:\system\sounds\digital\CamcorderStop.wav"

skullbox 8th May 2008, 17:21 gr8, but looks complicated for me. I don hav camcorder.r01 in m n95 classic but instead, CamMojave.r01, well tried to edit the same but getting a bit confused to wich file name should remane ur attached files n put them in C:\ as i hav diferent file names in Z:\
KosteK94 8th May 2008, 17:58 skullbox, this patch is for Pre-FP1 phones (Symbian 9.1). N95 is FP1 phone (Symbian 9.2), and try this patch (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=252227). Working on my N95.
ToJa92 8th May 2008, 19:47 "z:\system\sounds\digital\CamcorderCapture.wav" to "c:\system\sounds\digital\CamcorderCapture.mp3"
I only have a file named camera.wav and it's not mentioned in any of the camera.r** files :( So I guess there's no way... BTW Have a E65
UPDATE: Nevermind. The camera.wav confused me I have Camcordercapture.wav so it works now :dance2:
illegible 8th May 2008, 20:21 I only have a file named camera.wav and it's not mentioned in any of the camera.r** files :( So I guess there's no way... BTW Have a E65
I guess there is some difference in the phones, no matter they are symabin 9.1..
I could help you to find the way to make this possible on your phone.
Send me one of your camera.r** files, also the camera.wav and if they are not connected to one-another, then you have to search for the right connection.
Making a full z:\ backup on your pc, and then searching through all the files for the string path that point to your camera sound file, is one of the ways.

I'll try that way, else I send one of my camera.r**
illegible 8th May 2008, 23:54 I've edited the first post a little bit. ;)
ToJa92 9th May 2008, 00:26 Nevermind. It tourned out I have CamcorderCapture.wav so now it works perfect, thanks!

ToJa92 9th May 2008, 10:08 Can i remove java camera sounds with this??
I think so, there are two sounds named CamcorderJavaCapture.wav and CamcorderJavaStart.wav try replacing them by putting an empty sound in the corresponding directory in C:\system\sounds\digital\ instead
hi
actualy it did not work on my n73 ME v 4.07363.3.1

anany 11th May 2008, 15:35 thanks for ur explain
illegible 11th May 2008, 23:27 thanks for ur explain
Guys, specify which phone did you try this on, so I can add them to the first post e.g works on.. etc.
usmando 12th May 2008, 12:26 Same problem on my N73ME. I got these files in my z:\System\Sounds\Digital\
CamMojaveCapture1.wav
CamMojaveCapture2.wav
CamMojaveCapture3.wav
CamMojaveCapture4.wav
CamMojaveFocusSucc.wav
NameDiallerStartTone.wav
CamcorderJavaStart.wav
CamcorderJavaCapture.wav
The first 4 are for the 4 different capture tones. I wanted to replace Sound 2 as i don't like it, and use a silent wav for it. But editing the copied "c:\resource\apps\CamMojave.r01" seems to have no effect even with c2z patch enabled. Gotta try .r02, .r03 etc.. but i'm kinda lazy after all that work !!

When you apply the c2z patch, the only thing that happens is that your phone is using the files from c:\, so if when applied you cannot start cam, thats because of invalid files for the camera application in the c:\ directory. Go to C:\resource\apps\ and look for your camcorder or camojave files and delete them so you won't have the same problem again.
(P.S I am almost sure that this is possible too on n73 but I just need your z:\ files to tell you the details ;) )
tobulide 17th May 2008, 03:09 thanx for the options illiegible.I will do wat u said but if not work then i want to add my files soon on this thread to be able to work this patch. but tell me if u want whole z drive backup or just nesesery *screenshoot files with EFSrv.dll?

illegible 17th May 2008, 03:50 I told you guys, its really simple. ;)
Post the details(which file did you edited etc.), so i can put it in the first post.
tobulide 18th May 2008, 01:55 i used modded commojave.r01 to c drive as same path as on zdrive. but nothing works.

illegible 18th May 2008, 17:34 Upload here your CamMojave.r01 file.
hnyuk49 18th May 2008, 18:02 I dont know why but after applying the Rompatcher hack, my camera sound's mysteriously gone!!! So no need for this. I'm using N80.!

:afraid::ilove:
illegible 19th May 2008, 23:22 Look at the first post, I've edited it.
Also please some moderator change the topic title to: "No Camera Sounds in Pre-FP1 and FP1 phones"
tobulide 20th May 2008, 02:57 here i go again. i said that there are also some file with are not shown in the cammojave.r01 file. which belongs to the video recording sounds.its not there and i've tried it some different ways but all in vain. ill give some screenshoot soon.
illegible 20th May 2008, 11:02 About the other sounds, they can't be found in this file. You can try to search it with Total Commander in your Z:\ files. If you want upload all your files shown on the previous screenshots that you've made, just without the sound files. And from the sound files, tell me wich is the exactly recording sound that you don't want, the name of the file.
zain4444 21st May 2008, 12:39 Why No Archive Found In Your Attachements? Rosources/camojav Is Not Opening!
illegible 21st May 2008, 20:16 The attachment itself is the archive. In resource\apps\ is your app for your phone, not another archive!
enjuto 26th May 2008, 16:39 in my e65 there is no need for the c2z patch... anyone can use this method even without a hacked phone (using camcorder.r01 attached, because with a non hacked phone you wont be able to copy the original one in z)
kabir7 27th May 2008, 23:12 thanks...working gr8

The CamMojave file looks the same. You should try making the c2z patch again, maybe the z:\sys\bin\EFSrv.dll changed after the upgrade, also why are you still using the three file patches, when there is a new version that makes one patch file.
tobulide 28th May 2008, 21:09 yeah i use both 3file patch and 1 file patch of c2z the latest one. but can't get muted sound. ill try once again then ill put the result here. :peace:
and btw i've changed the EFSrv.dll from upgrade.not working :(:oops2:
and one thing i got this message when i apply both patch one by one.

Do you edit your file or using the edited one i uploaded? This error means c2z patch is working, I suggest edit your CamMojave file and it should work.
