I found some interesting ROM-dumps and I would like to extract some applications from it and install it on other devices. So far I succeeded in doing this for a couple of applications but for many applications I don't know which files to extract... Is there a way to see which files (rsc, dll, etc..) are used by a particular application? Is there maybe an application that will display all open files while running a certain application so we know which files to extract? :confused:

I doubt you can back up everything, there are so many files its hard to see where all the files are, but maybe reinstalling the n-gage app and all the games may help

I installed TRK app and SecureMan and installed certificates.then i installed symbianos pipes and the n-gage application ver. 1.00(1262)(9_n-gage.sisx downloaded from this forum).i created profile on n-gage.com and everything is ok until i install the game. then the n-gage application wants to download some new n-gage app.i click ok and then it displays the home page of n-gage.com and there is no update for my app(it says something like : first access user please uninstall your apllication and download a new from n-gage.com ....and so on). what im doing wrong?can anybody help me?please

i have n81 8gb and secman im making my phone hangs.does anybody have this problem? and it is the only way to play n gage games...except for carbide, which seems a little more complicated...does anybody have same\similar problem? and what do you guys think i should do? new firmware? carbide? or just leave n-gage altogether?

if u are using an s60v3 phone. glimmerati doesnt support it. glimeratti is an old ngage game belonging to the first gen ngage phone. only ngage 2.0 will work on the s60v3

last night i online to n-gage arena then tried to play hcotd in my n81, but then appeared a message : "game not found on memorycard" and the icon's games go blurred, if i click the game again, it shows the different message "are u sure to delete this game?". i ask my brothers, he has a n81 too, and surprisingly, he has a same problem too! we tried to play another game and i founded that this problem happened to ALL our games! i tried to reinstall n-gage application but we still got this problem.. anyone has same problem with us? please help.

1st of all since the N73 isn't currently a n-gage phone, make sure you have all the components (Symbian OS PIPS etc)

Also check app mgr settings, and make sure files are not damaged...

Just follow the given guides and it should work...

However the main one, i.e. n-gage build 1.01 says "not installed". I've reinstalled it but it is still the same! when i want to remove the components they do not allow!! Please help.. I'm really desperate.. Even hard resetted the phone, formatting memory card,.. after the firmware update it cant work.. :(

Are you still able to install TRK and Secman. I thought the reason of nokia releasing updates to almost every symbian phone. was to remove the ability of installing TRK. I know i can't install it anymore on my E51, since i upgraded.

I was about to ask you which phone model you've got but saw that you have a N95.

As there currently is no UDP (User Data Protection) in this device reinstalling the N-gage application could make you loose the N-gage data. However I do believe that the game data is still intact.
The important thing is to be able to access the folders that have these game data. For how you can see the link from my (3) previous posts.

I know for sure that the N95 don't always hold the registration keys for applications or games as I've tried to update some games and applicatins I have. (This varies strongly from one to another)

Try backing up first and then reinstall.

Every now and then i check on it to see if there are any extras but all it says it 'Select A Category', the rest of the screen is blank.

well it's a 9.2 so it probably just uses the same hack as every other phone uses so just follow the guide for n95, n82, n73 etc and it should work but if not you can't do any damage

Some networks/access points only allow web browser, so check access points and find out if it (and your network) can work with the n-gage app

As Stevengw suggested there might be restrictions on the some of the accesspoints you use. Either that or your operator have some faults/lots of traffic on their network.

Usually the accesspoints for Wap and MMS are routed through a proxy in which all other datatraffic are discarded, meaning you won't be able to use those.
Try using one that have the 'internet' suffix.

Some games are split into multiple parts e.g. [a.zip][b.zip][c.zip]
You need to extract all these files first.
Just highlight all the .zip files and extract them.

After you've done that you will have one .rar file and several r0X files
(where X increments depending on how many files there is.)
In my example you will therefore have three files on .rar file and two r0X files
(namely r01 and r02)
You will now finally be able to extract the content of the .rar file when you have those 2.

Hey, I was asking myself if I could change the directories which the MusicPlayer is searching the songs from...

I looked into the Z:\Resource\Apps drive and found some MPlayer... and MusicPlayer... files. In Z:\Resource\Apps\MPlayerCommonUi.rXX I found some 'links' (C:\Data and E:\). But when I change these; I 'deleted' C:\Data by changing it into points, and after I putted some music in that directory, the MusicPlayer still finds the music in C:\Data (using C2Z). Anyone knows a working sollution for this problem? I just want the MusicPlayer to not find all my music, like the 'Speedwarning' mp3's for my Route66 (nokia 6110 Navigator).

You can set the attiributes of the files (Speedwarning etc.) as hidden, so mplayer cant find them, but route66 can ;) I think its the easiest way...

When I hide them, Route66 won't find it either. What I can try is to set up the sounds in Route66, and then hide them. But to test it, I have to be at a warning cam :P.

Another thing is; I want the MPlayer not to find some mp3's, like the funny short 'sms'-sounds etc.

I tried to install ngage game and got error. So i uninstall trk, but secman is still there. I press C and unable to remove Secman. So i manually open and select Uninstall Secman.

Allright then i plan to install newly again.

I install TRK, but after i choose the USB option it did not prompt me Next option for Secman.
How do i make my Secman appear again ?

I guess I did not completely remove it ...

Try restarting your phone first.
Then copy over one .ngage file to the folder before opening the N-gage application itself.

As lots of games are quite big it could lead to RAM being used up and thus giving you corrupt data during install.

(I had the same issue when copying over several .ngage files and trying to install that. Same phone and same firmware.)

If the accesspoint is a wifi accesspoints try pressing cancel and then see if it 'pops up'.

I know that my wireless router don't always show up when I try to connect trough it. Trying some time (I've experienced up to 4-5) will usually let you be able to use that.

If it is operatorspecific accesspoints then you could try to delete those and download new ones.

hi I have a problem, I bought a new (used) phone, I haked it , reinstalled N-gage , the games and saved my saved games and account details copying the directory 20007b39. everything seemd to work perfect (games, accont details and saved games) but when i tryed to connect my user to the arena I had some problem. The error was that my password was incorrect (impossible) so I requested a new password by writing mi email and my username from the n-gage website but I had no answers (I tried different times). FOr these reason I decided to create a new accunt BUT the new error I got was that "the device was already connected with another account" (I supposed precedent owner had installed n-gage and created an account). What does it mean? that if we buy a used phone in wich there was n-gage installed and used from another user, we won't be able to use our username?

then i've even tried the guide where you have to extract 00000001.rar to c:\ overwriting root certs with binpda and that other..

but when i try to install for example handy weather or foreca, i get error "certificate error: contact application supplier"

hi I have a problem, I bought a new (used) phone, I haked it , reinstalled N-gage , the games and saved my saved games and account details copying the directory 20007b39. everything seemd to work perfect (games, accont details and saved games) but when i tryed to connect my user to the arena I had some problem. The error was that my password was incorrect (impossible) so I requested a new password by writing mi email and my username from the n-gage website but I had no answers (I tried different times). FOr these reason I decided to create a new accunt BUT the new error I got was that "the device was already connected with another account" (I supposed precedent owner had installed n-gage and created an account). What does it mean? that if we buy a used phone in wich there was n-gage installed and used from another user, we won't be able to use our username?

i think your username that you created on your phone also embeds your imei on it. so when you changed your phone, you have a different imei. see what i mean? or must be a mistake on nokia's part. OR nokia is now trying to reject illegal gamers, (cracked games/n-gage). :afraid:

I think it's the only solution.. maybe they ban an imei when someone play cracked game on it.. (in this case not only me but the old owner of my used device). I'm not able to obtain another password from the n-gage website so my user has been banned to... now I try to make another account with another email.. I want to see if the system works for new users.. also if I know that I won't be able to use a new account on my device

EDIT: I was able to obtain a new password for the old account and I can log in in the website and I created a new account too.. you want to know what happens when I try to connect to the arena? "error invalid username or password"... so I suppose that imei in some way has been banned.. maybe I should format the phone and try to reinstall n-gage without the backup of the directory that contains the saved games... any other idea?

I have problems with N-Gage on the E90. The app works fine but the games exits with kernel exec 3 error on the outer screen. On the inner screen they starts but the graphics are totally wrong. A solution for running of the games on the outer screen 320 x 240 is needed.

I'm not sure if it was discussed before but today I just completed Asphalt 3 ... 100%. Have not played it for quite some time. Submitted my scores and then when I went to update my profile it kept exiting the application back to the menu. Tried restarting but same problem.

Anyone knows why ?

Sorry to dissapoint you but the E71 doesn't have a radio with RDS it's a standard Visual Radio as on the rest of the Nokias with radio's.

or you could just send it to nokia center and just tell them innocently that it just happened without you touching it. the problem is maybe they could find out about those hacks that we've been doing. try doing the above first.

Is it possible to extend the time untill the screen saver comes up with a hack? 90 sec. is not enough for me. I don't mean the time of the light! For that there are many apps around. I want no light and no screensaver. Maybe for one hour or so.

if you need scrn saver timeout 60mins you probably don need screen saver at all, so you can easily kill the process, with jbak taskman you can even set "kill on boot" for programs/precesses of your choice

as i've seen on your details. you use n82 right? you could follow my tutorial for this official n-gage compatible phone, it will help you install the official n-gage installer from the official website.

if there are still problems, contact the developer for it.

If still can't, means 2gb memory card will not work on n-gage classic. Buy a newer phone or buy 2 1gb card.

Try restarting your phone first.
Then copy over one .ngage file to the folder before opening the N-gage application itself.

As lots of games are quite big it could lead to RAM being used up and thus giving you corrupt data during install.

(I had the same issue when copying over several .ngage files and trying to install that. Same phone and same firmware.)



If the accesspoint is a wifi accesspoints try pressing cancel and then see if it 'pops up'.

I know that my wireless router don't always show up when I try to connect trough it. Trying some time (I've experienced up to 4-5) will usually let you be able to use that.

If it is operatorspecific accesspoints then you could try to delete those and download new ones.

It's true that, that might help however being an N82 user myself I know that the UDP (User Data Protection) on the phone can sometimes lead to mysterious errors. This function which is indeed handy can also prove to be a pain.

What I did myself when having that problem is that the UDP will still keep your files from mostly all the previous installs in your phone even after a fw update.
The fix I did to correct any corrupt data was finally to do a reset using *#7780# and *#7370#.
(I can't remember which was the hard reset, but I think I used both just to be sure to wipe out everything)
I then reinstalled the fw update and then all the applications.

Things have worked fine for me since then.

Maybe you have some firewall in your computer preventing the phone to access the net directly of some sort?
The http: traffic in which case Opera Mini will be using is on port:80 if the connection used in N-gage is on some other port / protocol then it could fail.
I think there might be something like that, which leads to your problem.

You don't mean you're using the GNU Box (or the JoikuSpot) are you?
If that's so then there's definitely something that's not right configured.

As I never got the GNU Box to work myself I can't help you with that one.

Hi, everytime I try to login into Ngage Arena, th Ngage app hungs up when Attempting login sign appears, I try with different Points of access, no error display, just the little green bar stop moving and the application freeze. I must killed to continue. Then if I want to re-launch the Ngage I have to reset phone first. I already re-install everything. And this start happen a few weeks ago, before that I was able to connect with my 3G access point. If I stop when connecting sign appear, I can play any game, but when I close the game an "Unable to star game (Error 805306372)" shows up.
Can someone helps me?

Not this case, in my N95-3 the D: Ramdisk its about 80mb while ngage app is running, this message start to appear rigth after the problem with the login.

I assume you have installed SecMan right?
Then when in SecMan press Options - Install root certificate.

When prompted for edit or overwrite choose the latter (overwrite).

Some things you could do here.
1. Have you applied the certificate provided with SecMan?
Open SecMan press 'options' - 'install root certificate'
When prompted to overwrite choose to do this.

2. Try installing the game again. (After 1. if you don't have done that).

3. If game is still corrupted choose to transfer the file to PC first.

Can someone please tell me why S40 hasn't been hacked yet? I mean I know S40 is Java, but so is Sony Ericsson and they already have hacks. I'm guessing that hacking S40 should be easier than S60 since its considered the 'dummy' version out of the two.

see on my tutorial the faqs. it is sometime due to an improper .txt placed on your phone.

Just uninstall the ngage installer in app man..then install arena n n-gage game again...but dnt 4got 2 back up game data in c/private/20007b39

you can find the patch.sis on my archive in my tutorial. the patch only works on the BiNPDA cracked games and not on the officially downloaded games from the official website.

could anyone tell me how to enable the key# to make changes between profiles?because my operator firmware disable it.

but now my problem solved...

backup your n-gage save data C:\private\20007b39..

reinstalled n-gage applications, restore back your n-gage save data into c:\private\20007b39 ( overwrite the file)..

try login with your id and it's works for me..

I have a nokia 6110 navigator and i wanted to put some flash themes on it. I used Netwasp FlashThemes Player v1.0.S60v3.SymbianOS.9.1.Retail-gkataria and it worked fine but the themes for it were pretty ugly, so i went on zedge.net and searched for some symbian themes. I found many themes that contained a clock on the main display. The clock is supposed to be functional (i put similiar themes on nokia 6300 and the clock worked fine) but on my 6110 it doesen't work...Same problem with some supposed flash animated themes. They are .sis files so they are surely for symbian...So please help me...What do i need to do to make those themes work? I installed flash lite 3 DE and Netwasp FlashThemes Player v1.0.S60v3.SymbianOS.9.1.Retail-gkataria but still no result

ersonally my c/resource/help file is only 816 kb!

i recommend an other way in addition to that to free phone memory.

1)go to c /resource/apps folder

remove any .rxx file that you dont need.what i mean? as you may know r01 is for english language .r03 for german etc. my mother tongue language is greek which is .r54.so i kept all .r01 to r.03 ( i kept these so as to avoid non working applications) files and .r54 (for apps that it exists) only.

IMPORTANT : i recommend you to keep all .rsc and .r01 - .r03 files and of course your mother tongue one.

this way u will free phone memory.thus this folder wont have so many files inside and as a result navigation inside this folder will be much faster than it was.

I get the same message.
However when I update my points gets updated.
For me it's just the online profile which can't be updated.
(And N-gage does take its time to update the points)

The answer to your problem is for now just to try again.
(You can also manually change your online status)

I follow the instuction and successfully installed and played all the game happily on my n95 8g, but last few days I just have my phone working with 3G operation so i can connect to internet, but I did not open ngage application, and today I just wanna play the game but all the game appear in blur, like the game that we not yet install and when i go to option it has only the delete and set online status. may be the ngage connect to internet itself? and it check and see that all my games are cracked so it make all my games to unable to play? anybody can help?

I've been playing around with appshelldata.xml today and a thought came to my mind. How to hide some items in the menu from appearing? Obvious thought would be: delete corresponding tags in appshelldata.xml file. But it doesn't work. I wanted to delete whole Help special folder structure from xml file including subitems, and it worked, but only partially. Help folder is gone, but all items from it were moved to Installations folder of the main menu.

Is there any way to do what I'm trying to achieve?

That's a good question, I would like to know the answer too. Apps that you have installed can indeed be hidden by messing with private folder and moving the .rsc files, we know that already. But if there are apps that came with the phone, like help files or other pre-installed stuff, which reside in z:\, it's more difficult, or impossible.

If anyone finds the way, please let us know..

i have some problem.... i have 9840 pts and played dogz game (all games are from binpda) and i colect maybe more then 260 ppts and didn't upload score because i was in town and exit from n-gage. After 2 hours when i came home i wanted to upload my ngp but my fone (n95 8gb) could not start n-gage aplication... and after shut down again... What should i do ?

I bought progolf full by sms on my 6120c and it works but I don't know if multiplayer works because always when i try rooms are empty. I also bought 7dal licension for system rush evolution and multi worked but that was few months ago.

I have a N95 8Gb with latest FW hacked, with SecMan, Installserver.exe and TRK installed.

Two days ago when I was trying to install Dogz in my phone happened a very strange thing: I started N-Gage and I got the message "Preparing to install", after the message was gone, I went to Games for installing Dogz, but it appeared in white and I was unable to install it, because no action ocurred when I pressed "install".

At that moment I had all the games, excluding FIFA 08 and Mile High Pinball but including Dirk Dagger and The fallen idol.

After this, I have formated my phone and the 8gb hard drive and reinstalled all the stuff in my phone, N-Gage and games included, but I have the same problem.

I tried Skanob's method and to install the first official version but the error remains....

I beg your help. What can I do? I'm kinda angry because I'm used to play N-Gage several times a day.

2. Format the phone with *#7370# and the code 12345.

3. Reinstall the Firmware with Nokia Software Update.

4. Hack the phone.
