I don't think anyone guarantees anything in this forum, do it at your own risk. But usually you won't damage phone, a firmware update can fix most damages

You will lose your warranty, but the network or manufacturer won't notice if you do a firmware update before showing the phone to them

I was wondering if someone knows if it's possible to add new menu styles to N95 or N95 8gb. I would love to have the horseshoe menu layout.

Mate it is just not possible yet, the post you are referring to was a fake and that file had nothing to do with the phone CPU speed. That file was created & used by the N-Gage platform ;)

I have a question plz I've done hacking 100% on my N95 and the c:\sys as an example is working ! and signing progs is working too . but when i tried to sign apps on another PC it shows " succesfully signed " but when I try to install it it shows expired cert !
NOTE : I tried to repeat the hack on the second PC but when I tried to get the port number the TAB IS GONE !!!

If you're talking about the tab when you select properties by right clicking on the phone it's probably linked to a different recognition of the Phone on the 2nd computer.
Don't have admin on my current, but if i'm not mistaken you can still change com through "resources" and "change setting".

also keep in mind that althou u hack ur phone this is only done temporary not permanent, so when u want to bring ur phone to Nokia just removed the Rompatcher & all the hack things to avoid ur guarantee expired..

I own a fantastic Nokia N95 8GB with latest firmware v20.0.016 and everyday I use a java application to send sms by wlan and I always have to say "yes" on connection request "Allow application xxxx to use network and send or receive data?"; it's really boring.
I know that from Menu --> Applications --> App.manager, if I select the java installed application, I can click Open and set permissions but on "Network Access" (and in all other fields), I don't see the "Always allowed" option as there is in "Connectivity" field.
Now my question is: is it a firmware limitation or the problem is in the midlet itself?
If the problem is in the firmware, is it possibile to set "Network access" permission to "Always allowed" manually? For example editing some files on the symbian....Do you know in what file, permissions are saved?
If the problem is in the midlet itself, how can I sign the app to give that permession?

If you have a signed JAD file for the Java app you are using, then install the application again using the JAD file(JAD & JAR should be in same folder). Then you'll get all the settings.

OK some of the branded N95 8GB phones like from ROGERS come locked on 3G and the Network Settings option to change from 3G to EDGE has been hidden , was wondering if any guru out there would know a hack to build to bring this menu back up so that users can save their battery life when they in no need for the speed of the 3G

Err... He has S60 3rd edition FP1 on his samsung, same OS as on N82 and other phones, so of course he can install it, but not sure if it works as it may be differences in hardware and other stuff so it can't connect. But go ahead and try, it's the only way to see if it works :D

I think the sound quality depends on the support of fone's hardware like sound chip or something. Even if u can make the N91's Music Player work on ur fone then the sound is still produced by ur fone hardware, nothing different; only change in the GUI.

2) I'm not aware of any software that has this feature. You can do it manually though. Messages are stored in various sub-folders in C:\Private\1000484b\Mail2. You can open up the individual sms files in x-plore hex view & can find out the SMS centre ;)

Hi, well I got the answer, I was trying to install that software in Mass memory, while I suppose that the older version exist in C drive, so I should install that in C drive also, and then it will be updated accordingly...hope I am right on this ... though thanx for your suggestions...

The renamer will work on all phones.

it depends on hardware and the music player. n82/n95/n95 8gb have same n91 audio dac chip. so the music player on the n91 has the coding which gives that audio boost in volume. each music player is different in sound wise.

Switched off Caps, copy Startup files, using X-plore from Z:\Resoure\Apps, and try to paste them into C:\Resource\Apps but always get error saying "cannot open file".

please do reply with an explaination ?All I know is that they have generated the cert using openssl and then converted it somehow into the required format for symbian. Our phones are pre installed with symbian, nokia, verisign & thawte root certificates. When we sign an app with devcert it gets signed with the matching symbian cert.

Now when you copy the 00000001 file on your device, it installs the Leftup root cert. The apps signed with the matching leftup key&cert can then be installed ;)

N95, with v21.0.16 - Doesn't matter now though, installed ROM Patcher and it works a bit better, not perfectly, but better. It's as if the phone has unhacked itself, lol.

Err... I don't think some hack/patch will do it, computers can have these voice changers but not for mobiles I think...

You need a signing tool like BiNSiGN (You can find it in most Unsigned BiNPDA's releases...)
And you don't need any app if you have signed it on your PC... Though you can sign apps directly on your phone using SignSis...

The password should be given to you... More or likely 12345 or something...
And it wont ask for a password on phone, just a pop-up saying the app may harm your phone... So you just need to select Ok...
No you cannot sign it without a password
And the app can only be installed on the phone where the IMEI of the phone and cert matches...

The installation won't ask for password.. Yeah, you can sign the app with leftup root cert as key+cer without password.. And the signed app should be able to install on any hacked phones if we apply 00000001 file from this thread correctly.. For me I like to sign with mobilesigner using self signed option

Would it be possible to make a volume hack for headphone output level? My E70's phone output is so weak that i can't use any headphones other than Nokias original HS-20's, which in turn sound really terrible.

I dont' think it's a hardware thing, because occasionally as i receive a call when i'm listening to music the volume gets considerably louder for a moment before it starts ringing and mutes the music player. I think it's just another software limit to comply to these stupid EU regulations about headphone volume levels. Also, if i remember correctly, the volume was higher in earlier firmware version.

On the new E90 firmware, we cannot install TRK and thus cant hack. Here's a screenshot:

is it possible to copy the Language pack from a OS9.2 phone to OS9.1 phone? I mean OS9.2 support new writting languages including mine (vietnamese) which OS9.1 doest support. I badly need it on my N80 since I have to deal with word processing quite a lot. Somebody says that we can copy an app from one fone and put in it another fone, is this right? so that means impossible sine OS9.1 doesnt support vietnamese writing even if I flash it with the right region. ANW thank you, my friend. then I have to think of another way. In OS6.1 we have something call Fepsetup which allow writing non-English text. but I dont know how to make a similar app for OS9.1 :ashamed:

Not possible...there are hardware restrictions too.





It might actually be possible to run symbian 9.2 or 9.3 on phones with 9.1 or 8.1, I base this on the fact that windows mobile phones use modded roms of windows mobile 6 on devices that initially shipped with windows mobile 5.

I'm really hopeful that the symbian modding community will pull this off, the hardware isn't that obsolete as to not be able to run at all(many 9.1 phones use ARM9 processors, ranging from about 208 to 220 MHz, it's only one step behind ARM11 processors ranging around and over 300 MHz), often processors are underclocked to increase battery life and prevent overheating.

The symbian os is designed to run across various versions of ARM, it might be buggy, but It'd be very cool to get 9.2/3 on slightly older devices.

I am using Nokia E65. My previous phone was a Series 40 once, and hence I used to open contacts, call, press the red button after the call, and forget about it. However, if I do this in my E65 the "Contacts" application remains open the background. Same goes for the "Log" application, if I dial the last number again for example.

This seems very counter-intuitive to me, seeing that more the applications open the in background, faster the battery drains. Is there any way to automatically close these two applications after every call I make? It's quite irritating to long-press the "Home" key and close it manually after each call!

I see 6 icons in my E65. If I rotate the screen, I get 7 icons. So if you mod so the icon is half the size (maybe there's some file - I don't know), symbian would notice this and you can add alot more.... I think it the screen resolution matters, I have 240x320.

It only asks "Close all applications?" and then it closes all applications(when you press yes, of course) except for "standby" application.

my n73me speaker volume is great.. No complaints over there.. But when it comes to using the headset, i'm very much disappointed. Sound volume is even lesser than a O2 xda mini...coming to the point,i've observed that whenever i receive a call and music is being played, before getting paused due to the ring, the volume boosts up and mind you, the sound clarity is NOT AT ALL compromised. Previously i used to think that low music volume was a hardware issue but this fact has made me think otherwise. So developers please take a peek at this as there are tons of other n73(and other) users who could want higher music volume

If you are asking should you hack your phone, then problably no you dont need to.
You will not lose ANYTHING except your warrenty.
You can hack your E51
You gain access to even more functions by patching the ROM.

This plugin item can be found on N95 RM-160 with the v20 firmware. Can this standby screen plugin be transferred to other phones, so that for instance I can use it on my E51?

2) For some reason, jad and jar files have been associated with Quickoffice, so I cannot download jar and jad files, they will open in Quickoffice. But the jar/jad files I already have downloaded open correctly and prompt an installation. What can I do to re-assign the jad and jar files when downloaded via the native web browser?

3) Can we change the network names so that '3' can be changed into 'Hutchinson Three' or similar? Would there be a file that maps a 2xx-xx network code to a specific name, so that we can change those names? I did that on a Win Mobile 5 device before, with a registry hack.

I had same probleme but, by trying to use landscape mode !
I solve my problem by deleting Creatures of the deep, and by doing a new intallation of the same game :)

u MUST have installed the SecMan cause without it u cannot install the games!!!that's why says that they are corrupted

If secman don't work in n93, there is a lot of other methods to hack your phone :excited: don't worry :) be happy

But not every method works for N93. It's kinda special. Only the new method with HelloCarbid works. Anyway I have found "BINPDA.Sec.Platform.hack.sis", installed it and it works just great! I'm happy now :P Thank you BLESIO for packing that :D

1. No, you don't need the latest firmware - Even i'm running the n-gage games smoothly on my N95-1 with V11 FW.
2. Yes, you have to hack it, otherwise the games will not install - But it wont take more than a few minutes to set it all up :)

If your startup .mbm file is on memory card then try to boot up fone without mem card in!

You most definately need to install the games again and maybe update your problem.
And i cant seem why you cant install AppTrk, unless its an installation problem

What problem is it? It would be hard to patch a problem/bug in the game :) Also the games are meant for n-gage phones, and 5700 isnt one

You can only register 1 account to 1 phone. You need to remove the current account 1st

On the N73, it shouldn't be a problem forgetting the password, and it would be very hard to find it in a file... If it is possible ;)

I don't have any problems since i have a supported phone, but the autostart and pips are uploaded somewhere in this section in the forum, so its best to get help in there
As for the latest app you may have to wait since i'm at college and using a proxy site is useless :D

Yes it happened to me when i had around 1000 points, but with some games you can update your profile and it should recover whatever ranking you have...
As for the n-gage points, i'm not too sure. I would of thought logging in and setting it back up does the trick but it doesn't.
I just got all the games back and got my points back... Hopefully i wont have to do it anytime soon

Is there anyway that that we can hack the standard browser. I am really annoyed that the browser allways starts at 100% zoom, is there anyway that it could be hacked so that it will start at whatever zoom rate i prefer, be it 50% or 75%.

because this game has wierd feature that, u cannot press two keys simultaneously. you can press only one key at a time. Hope this helps :)

i dont remember seeing a hack like that. but for now or at least till someone says there is one out, what u can do is get the video for those songs and get smartmovie. then when ur encoding them, on the right hand side increase the volume percentage. i always remember to avoid this cuz my n95-1 blasts my ears if i put it on more than 100%. so for more volume, change it to about 200% cuz that should be more than enough.

Depends on how much money you have... Also check connections and reinstall etc...
If it still doesn't work, then maybe GL blocked it...

scrolling through music library is too slow in E51, its faster on other phones n91, n73 etc.. so is it possible to make it scroll faster??

I've a problem when uninstall N-gage app.. I try to remove Discover Ngage from App. Manager... but "Remove Failed". I've restarted, it's same problem.

I know that we are unable to use memory cards and other electrical items with our phones as they do not support or act as usb hosts, with all the new hacks floating around, could this be possible?

I have a e62 that has almost the same hardware of e61 and e61i. The only game that runs perfectly is System Rush. You said that Fifa 2008 is running well. On my mobile, this game starts, and I can even hear the sounds playing but not the image. If I change tasks is possible to see it running, but I cant get into the game to play It. Any hint?

I'm having a really strange problem. It seems like the graphic quality of the cracked games is worse than the trial ones I had installed on my device previously. The difference is quite noticable in asphault 3 where the reflections look realy bad compared to those in the trial version. But the graphics are generally degraded in all games. Unfortunately I have uninstalled the the trials and cannot post screenshots for you to compare and understand what I'm saying. By the way I'm getting an error that looks like this everytime I exit a game: "Unable to start game (Error 805306377). I'm using a N95.

download again and then try again

before openning n-gage app. install rootcert., u can access installer from SecMan app :) Then install patch.sis that is in tools archive in every new binpda release :)

I suppose you are trying to install AppTRK? Well, it wont work on the new firmware... Check the thread new h**k for new firmware in the sticky dept :)

Should it be possible to copy certain files from the built in Navigator from anothers Z-drive to the C-drive and 'run' it with C2Z? Because I think the 'key' of my standard (Benelux) map is saved on a file of the rom. So when I get a map and rom-files from a, for example, German 6110, I would have a unlocked version?

There is no default skin as far as I know. It is dependent on the current theme...

Have anyone tried installing on N95-2 v11 or higher? Because ive read in their site ang the only supported firmware for this model is v10
