How to remove the shutdown animation on branded N95.
Here's the solution.
Disable the caps first

*to remove shutdown animation on branded device*
First copy
- SysAp.mif
from Z:\resource\Apps to C:\resource\Apps

Then make a copy of SysApShutdownAnimation.rsc from Z:\resource\Apps to E:\
-Now open it with Hex Editor.
-Search the path to z:\resource\apps\SysAp.mbm visually and change it to c:\resource\apps\SysAp.mbm
-Save the file.
(it's the same procedure as on Startup.mbm)

After that also move the changed SysApShutdownAnimation.rsc to C:\resource\Apps

Now the animation should be gone.

*to enable or individualize shutdown animation *
Do all steps above but also copy SysAp.mbm to C:\resource\Apps

People that have an unbranded device won't find a working SysApShutdownAnimation.rsc in their Z:
That's why I attach it here ;) (thx to pay87)

I have packed it together with a changed O2 shutdown animation.
(no time to create something myself, yet)
Put both files + the SysAp.mif in C:\resource\Apps and you have enabled a
shutdown animation.

You can use the included SysAp.mbm as Base for your own creations.

This should work at least for the devices that work with a modded startup.mbm

I can't take a picture of the shutdown animation. If you got a branded phone, you know what I mean. If you don't have a branded one, just think of the startup animation but playing when you shutdown your device.

same prob here.... what version of mbmtool do you have? i have 1.12 and tried to edit the bmp's using mspaint.exe [Edlt --> Paste from] and still the mbm don't load when my n95 is shuting down... not even one frame....

what version of "bmconv.exe" are you people using???? can someone share the latest version plzzz

can some one make me superman shutdown animation please?

Well the shutdown of O2 does work on my N95 but the bugs are major:

1 - It only works when I shutdown the phone from the hardware button, it doesn't work when I restart the N95 with the Reboot app, it goes back to the Nokia hands picture(only, no handshake animation appears :(

2) Most bizarre is that when I do shutdown/restart the phone with the button it does loads the shutdown/startup animation & sounds B-U-T the phone left & right menu buttons stopped working. Only when I reboot it with the reboot app than all goes back to usual B-U-T the startup/shutdown animations & sounds don't load :(

Any thoughts what to check ? Thx.

What do u mean by shut down....Instead of that "Nokia" thing it just shuts down is that what u mean....

If thats the case then u can provide some cool shutdown animations so that we can have different animations when we shut down??

weird..when i open up sysapshutdownanimation.rsc using hex editor, there's no option for me to change the path to c:\resource\apps\sysap.mbm coz the path z:\resource\apps\sysap.mbm doesn't exist! all i see are a bunch of letters separated by a bunch of dots. :confused:

On my branded e65 there are TWO startup animation... the nokia one (Startup.mbm) and the shitty operator one (operatoranimation.mbm) so I had to repeat the process and copy from z: operatoranimation.mif and OPERATORANIMATION.rsc (in caps) and edit the last one

Also, here is a tiny black animation (all black, fast and tiny)

it doesnt work on my 5700...Does anyone know if its working for them or not on 5700

I remaned startup.mbm file to sysap.mbm and moved provided place.
But it didnt work..it worked when i placed the O2.mbm

It doest work as I supposed or I'm doing something wrong.
The shutdown animation is only stopped (it looks same all the time) and at startup is skipped and it shows my startup image (which can be setup via options menu)

But I'm on good way :P
