For your terrain I think you need the files in the DEM folder (western Europe, Eastern europe etc.)
Now I am going to assume you are in the UK, as I am. Buildings will only display if they have been generated. You can best check your settings by browsing your map to London. Then enter the 3D view. If you have *.dl & *.dc files in 'Building' folder you will see buildings & attraction like St. Pauls , London eye, Parliament etc etc other less prominent buildings will appear or disappear if you tap the satellite & power icon in the top right then tap the icon of 2 rectangles, making it's outline, neon type boarder, light. As time passes more buildings will be added. What looks great is the road at the Millau Viaduct in southern France (when they add the piers though it will look better)

The base map is a new one for igo8 as are all the maps. It's like TomTom 5 maps are not compatable with Tom Tom 6 maps.
There was no major roads map with igo, I think you are mixing it with Tom Tom where you could have a detailed map of a country or more and link them for calculation purposes by the major roads network. But now larger & cheaper memory cards are available it is no problem. What will happen now & in the future is that the memory will be used up with renderings & photos of buildings, landmarks and even adverts if connected to network as you pass an outlet location you may be spammed with an advert.
I can't see why it won't work with Dell AXIM's (2003 or higher).
Consult the igo/NavNgo web site for information, compatibility and the user manual.

assuming you have:- the Western Europe.dem or eastern Europe.dem etc in the DEM folder and
The countryX.DL &/or countryX.DC files in the Building folder.
In the igo8 program, when it is running, go to settings, Map Visual, tick the 2D Terrain, also tap the3D settings and tick Landmarks & Elevated Road and also choose thesettting for distance for rendering of Buildings & Terrain. Then back out of it all or tap & hold Back.
Now if there are building and attractions & landmarks they will appear in the 3D mode. These are only mostly in major Capital type cities like Paris, London Budapest (very good example), Vienna etc etc

A hint to all would be to download the IGO8 manual and at least browse it. Igo8 can do alot of stuff that we don't know. :punish:

If you installed the SDHC patch, this may be of interest to you. iGO8 now works on my Eten x500 with 8GB micro SDHC card running WM6. Thanks to Krischan on Eten users forum:

"Yes, you can simultaneously run iGO8 and the SDHC driver! Download and install patches from

What does the SDHC patch do? It sounds like it makes a normal SD slot on PDA'a work with SDHC cards, Is this correct? I have Ipaq 4700 would this patch make the SD slot read SDHC cards? Thanks in advance.

It keeps changing back to London / Dublin even after I have unchecked the box and made it Central US. It then messes up the system time. Another issue could be the internal GPS. I had the same on HTC Athena with internal GPS and what did the trick was installing Franson GPS Gate which creates a virtual port.

i meant i need the USA maps,poi,3d buildings for the Nav N Go iGO 8 v8.0.0.41506 (June 3 release) thank you in advance

Program ran fine until I put .dem, .3dl and .poi files into the folders. I didn't have any maps, pois, dem etc. but could run the program and search for sats. Still haven't found usa maps.
Since I put the filese mentioned above into their folders on the SD card, I get an "out of memory" error or it locks at the "starting" screen.

Is this a version mismatch (files vs. program) issue?
Must the program have all of the map files to run?

Based on what I had seen when I had the program running without maps...it's awesome! I'd really like to get it to work reliably!

Still looking for usa maps.

the maps i have found are all old maps. i too am looking for the new maps. havent looked too hard but they are there. for those that have demonoid i upped a torrent for north america and the working files that you just need to copy to your sd card search for this user name there and seed please.

i think you have to uninstall before installing a new unless its an upgrade. but dont know never upgraded. and i doubt theres anything more then the one listed here.

Any chance you could put those files on rapidshare?

i have tested Igo8. it has really great interface and routing ability comparing to it last version however POI and map for SEAsia is woefully rare.

If there is someone who has a good POI of Malaysia and Singapore which is equ to igo 2006. please share it with us. :urtheman:

My search for POI resulted in some custom POI which is not very accurate and badly classified. <= useless if it is in a mess.

I have tried to contact Nav n GO on their product in Asia region however their response are equally woeful too... :suicide:

i have htc touch diamond. i can´t get this program run. changed sys.txt, tried several times. but it won´t start. installation without errors. installation only takes few seconds. is that right?
