I had sucessfully applied the ROM Patcher hack after following the great tutorials made here. A little while ago I updated to the latest firmware and now when I install Metro TRK, I get an error - 'component already built in'!

So can something be done about it? Some program that'll allow us to run TRK from the phone itself?

then just try to run hack from PC without installing this... maybe it will work if component is BUILT IN :)

The RP Installer tries to ping TRK and gets a bad response and it doesn't work. I had tried it!;)

I had to confirm that on the new firmware it is not possible to install Metro TRK :(

It sucks.. It is only a matter of time when iwe won't be able to hack other phones :\

yeah, we will see how long this will be till next patch/hack update :D dont worry mates, everything has been cracked till now ;) just time is needed and hackers will broke the code completely and then we wont need to install patches, just ourselves will modify files on our will with tutorials from them ;) dont worry, be happy!

But.. You know. Nokia's managed to block hacking once, who said they won't be able to do it again?
Until someone manages to hack e90 i suggest to be careful with updates to newest firmwares ;)

I think i solved it, but i'm not sure.
You need PYTHON to do it
1. Download http://fou.vizz.pl/kostek/apptrk.zip and extract it to memory card, leave the folder structure!
2. Download http://fou.vizz.pl/kostek/trk.zip and extract it to c:\python or e:\python on your mobile
3. Run trk.py, APP TRK should start now.

I didn't tested it yet, can somebody test it for me?

I installed PythonForS60_1_4_3_3rdEd and PythonScriptShell_1_4_3_3rdEd.

Next I Copied the contents to the Memory Card. Replaced whatever conflicted.

Copied the scrpit and ran it, both from C and E. But didn't work. This is what i got.

I have no clue about programming and the stuff you guys do, but since the phone says, component built in, cant we somehow through Python or something run the inbuilt application?

I meanwhile tried another thing. Put my E90 card in the N95 and installed TRK on the card. Next i put the card back into the E90 but the applications install failed.

Can you tell us what you are trying to do with the script? Run the application as if it has been installed and run through an Icon? Since we dont have that icon you are trying to use puthon to run the app after copying the files...?

indeed I noticed the same provlem. AppTrk cannot be installed, what a shame. I just remapped the Calendar button to Papyrus before the upgrade. i first thought that I couldn't install AppTrk because I did a restore from memory card, but it seems that's not the problem.
I hope somebody finds another hack soon...

There´s a newer AppTRK who can be installed, 2.89 but the hacks can´t detect it properly. We need an update who can handle the 2.89. Some hacks use 2.86 but the new E90 FW requires 2.89.

Anyway becarefull try many method with no LUCK. Worst you can downgrade FW so once upgraded you are doomed.

Using installation into other MicroSD and then insert it to your phone wont work either. Not sure about running phyton but I believe it wont work either. So currently if you own E90 do not upgrade.

I tried with the 2.8.9 TRK, both the Binpda and RPInstaller don't work. Same error as Willows.

In Binpda method, it says unkown device.

Although I am not familiar with this stuff, but I feel that the hack is possible even now. Its just a question of modifying the RPinstaller to allow it to communicate with the new TRK.

a little help from my side for people having E90. Those who have upgraded to latest FW and want to downgrade ,here's a simple trick u can try. In general nokia releases new FW first for Euro phones and then APAC. Maybe they haven't yet released the latest firmware for asia pacific on NSU.so u can try changing ur product code with that of E90 APAC. To change product code use NSS. best of luck.:thumsup:

Unfortunately APAC receive the FW earlier than you guys and ALAS... This is why Nokia release faster then any previous FW.

I was also too late to read the warning and upgraded my E90, only to find out I can't install ROMPatcher anymore... Sigh... Is it downgradeable? If you guys out there have the solution, post it... I am willing to wait and won't be upgrading my E90 or my N95 ever again... LOL...

Try with the old hack with ActivePython, PySerial, AppTRK and Hack Perms.
If you have direct access to c:\sys\bin try to install CProfDriver_SISX.dll and, successively, CapsOn/Off.

v210.34.75 has allowed me to use Push email with SBS 2003 so I'm very happy with it, I don't know a lot about Symbian but I'm sure you're right. Some bright spark will hack it soon!

Tested using Phoenix, MT-Box, JAF.. all did not allow you to roll back to 7.40. The device will backup all your phone info but fail to inject the old FW back to your phone. So far still waiting for a bright star on how to roll back.

step by step:

1 - take zip from my post above and unpack - take backup.arc and move it to e:\backup of your phone !
2 - start memory card tool of phone and start restore !
3 - after a restart you should have trk in install folder
4 - start trk - open settings and change to usb and port 1
5 - start rompatcher on pc and setup correct port (check windows hardware settings)
6 - install rompatcher

with great luck it should work with e90 210 firmware !

edit2: yr backup file is from a nokia e51 not e90 ;) thats why the restore failed.

1 - reset phone
2 - install trk
3 - install rompatcher
4 - create directory c:\private\101f7159
5 - and in this directory create backup_registration.xml with following content (use xplorer):

c:\temp - but does not matter - one should be able to choose backup file !

i restored this backup with pc suite but it didnt work either. the pc suite import logfile says:

only these 2 file have been imported to e90 v210

Ok dit that. Installed Apptrk and Secman on a clean 7.40 firmware E90 device and made a memory backup on the card after creating the xml file.
Then I upgraded the device to 210.xx and restored the backup. Apptrk and Secman are gone... So it didn't help...

without that answers i still have hope - as it worked with my e51 - fw100 backup - fw 150 restore - trk working. not really comparable but proofs that a restore to a higher firmware allows to backup modded applications (we added the xml :) )!
