Detailed description
Compatible with most mobile devices on the market, just plug in the SD card and go
Nav N Go iGO 8 GPS software is available on a memory card with 3-in-1 adapter: full-size SD adapter, mini SD card and micro SD card providing universal compatibility with all devices, even with ultra-small mobile phones. It supports different screen resolutions and orientations including widescreen devices.
TMC support, speed-camera support
All of the European free TMC sources are integrated. When TMC information is available, it is possible to view the TMC events either on the map as icons or as a list on a dedicated traffic information listing.
The Nav N Go iGO 8 software supports the following speed camera types: fixed unidirectional and bidirectional, section camera, red light cameras and mobile speed cameras.
Real 3D navigation with outstanding graphics of buildings, landmarks, and entire cities
Nav N Go iGO 8 has separated 2D and 3D map visualization.
The full 3D visualization is including: road elevation, terrain elevation, 3D city maps, 3D landmarks. The 3D mode gives the driver a real-life driving experience directly onto the screen device. The space orientation becomes easier when on the screen the user can see picture-like buildings or outside the city when there are visible all landforms from the widest plains to the highest mountains harmoniously disposed.
The engine has a unique capability: it renders realistic and detailed 3D terrain up to 20 kilometres away seamlessly.
Two different user modes let the user interface fit your needs: with Simple mode the main functions are close at hand, while in Advanced mode you have access to the full functionality of the software
The Simple mode can be used intuitively, even without reading the manual. It contains the simplest commands to drive the user to the desired destination.
At the same time, a rich and powerful user interface capabilities are retained via an advanced mode. The Advanced mode is made for those picky users and gadget lovers who expect the best innovative features from their navigation devices.
Advanced POI management: Search, save, and load your own POIs and routes and share them on the Internet! (supporting Google Maps/Google Earth formats)
The users can add their own POIs into the User POI section, they have full flexibility to put the POIs on categories, and they can modify or delete them.
The POI search allows for searching around a position or also searching along the planned route. Search around a position can be around the current position or around any address.

kleptothief 1st June 2008, 13:04 anyone in canada have the 3d buildings to work? i don't c any 3d stuff, i belive i have all the correct files in the folder structure too
also wished they had 2008 maps as the 2007.07 maps r really outdated :(
davec2 1st June 2008, 23:23 Buildings are working for me.
iGO8/content/building/Canada.3dl
But I think you will only see buildings in major cities.
Also there is a selection button on one of the menus to turn buildings on or off. (The menu that comes up when you touch bottom left corner).
U2bob 1st June 2008, 23:26 yes, it works.
Try Montreal downtown area, you' ll some of the mayor attraction's building.

sunshine1 2nd June 2008, 11:02 damn it . No luck with this version. I go back to 8.0.0.31442 from Sanctuary.
In this release (installing version) I got no fix on satelites and it can't pass the 2,4 mb speedcams txt file. I have waited over 20 minutes :(
8.0.0.31442 final from Sanctuary had none of those 2 problems.

JBabey 13th June 2008, 21:01 TTS and high quality voice files can be found here
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
the latest maps for USA are 2007, 2008 maps are not yet available for the USA & Canada.
If you have issues opening the program after installing, make sure you copied the crack over the EXE ... BEFORE opening the program or it will crash on bootup.
If you check torrent sites, demon*** has SEVERAL complete torrents with all maps all buildings all POI's etc. and there are lots of seeders (some are over 3 gigs and include every map the software has to date)
I would *NOT* reccomend the HQ voices or TTS if you have low memory or a slow CPU on your handset as your ram will fill up and you will miss turns. I have an HTC Touch/Elf and they work perfectly but do take up a large majority of my free memory when launched.
If you have issues with it finding your GPS chip, there is a program called AstraLauncher that is freeware, that will not only PRIME the GPS chip for you, it will then launch IgO/Iguidance/TomTom FOR YOU and tell the program where and how to use your GPS chip, you can find this program on the XDA boards or the PPCGeek forums with pre-built cabs for all three programs. I will include it here for ease. I have included all three shortcuts in the cab file installer, just delete the ones you dont want/need.
Enabling some of the features can be a pain, so there are some PRE-BUILT .sys files with setup configurations for you that enable all of the bells & whistles, it also fixes the IgO from changing your system clock everytime you use it (known issue). I have included the contents of this file here for those of you that are having trouble enabling the 3D buildings etc. This file needs to be copied to BOTH the SD-Card ....AND.... the igo directory on the PDA or it will not work, the file checks itself against the SD card.

ppan0 14th June 2008, 07:41 A great navigation program, in many ways better that Tomtom, though interface is not as intuitive and slightly more resource hungry. It runs ok on my 200Hz OMAP 850 powered PDA phone.
One strange thing I noticed a few times is that after use and exit the program I found ActiveSync was running in the background. It seems iGo brings up ActiveSync for some reason or is it a bug? Anybody noticed this?
sunshine1 15th June 2008, 18:24 I see all do that! When u navigate, u surely plug in the charger, so active sync always starts

On the contrary, I did not using iGo pluged when I noticed this , but when I did today (using my phone's car charger), ActiveSync didn't start! Also, ActiveSync starts automatically only when connect to a computer, not a charger.
sevdax 16th June 2008, 15:11 I can't make it work on HTC TyTN II. Program starts and phone reset every time. Sometimes freez, sometimes reset it self when using IGO 8.
WM 6.1
Any suggestion?
wakan 16th June 2008, 15:15 same for me :(

sevdax 16th June 2008, 15:18 Are you using WM 6.1?
wakan 16th June 2008, 15:20 sorry, no I'm using WM 6 but I'd like to go to WM 6.1 (in the near future)
marscandybar 17th June 2008, 08:57 When I select the TTS voice it works just like the other voices. It doesn't read the street names. It only tells me when to turn. Any reason it doesn't work correctly?

It works ok for me on TyTN II. I have the WM6 Rom. I've read that on the WM6.1 Roms on the TyTN II it doesn't work.
If I remember right, you have to put the Igo8 Folder on the root of the card and not in program files.

the latest maps for USA are 2007, 2008 maps are not yet available for the USA & Canada.
MAKE A NEW FILE CALLED "sys.txt" and paste the following

Usualy, for a 1 MB speedcam.txt my Mio701 stays about 10 min freezed at "warning data initialisation" . The lights on screen go off till this point is passed.
Before u put a new speedcam.txt file, erase all files in /content/speedcam/ folder!
After 1st initialisation, check if speedcam warning is active (settings > warnings)

Inside directory "content" is the subdirectory "dem". You put them in "dem" subdirectory. You don't use them. The programm does automatically to show you the bildings.

If you can read and write arabic, try this site. It helped me with igomyway 2006 plus and now with igo2008(navngo). There are lots of usefull links. Just search. I found it by luck since I can't read or write arabic:

i am already using a skin file with 640x480 support. but it's basically 320x240 stretched to 640x480. i am looking for some bette use of extra pixels. For example in landscape only 4 poi options show in 1 page. But we have more pixels why not smaller and like 8 or more poi options in one page. Also for Map resolution it is streched.
martpaul 25th October 2008, 00:38 can i put the software of igo 8 in a tomtom device.
