gkataria 28th May 2008, 22:55 MegaDeth: Application to serial-kill processes,free memory{By FCA00000}
This program takes a list of processes and tries to kill them.
It needs permissions given by CapsOff of ROMPatcher.
The purpose is to free memory.
With the option 'Log' you can see all the running process, and then put them into megadeth.txt
Some processes which can be deleted without risk:
Prc:*btnotifappserver.exe*
Prc:*FaxModem.exe*
Prc:*ContentListingServer.exe*
Prc:*CTSecDlgAppServer.exe*
and many more.

sandy_1988 29th May 2008, 09:50 I don't want to sound skeptic, but, can't you kill processes already from unsigned version of ActiveFile or FExplorer? Anyway, nice share.

In FExplorer/Activefile, you can only kill processes which are non-system. With this I think you can kill whatever process you want...
aristotelhs2060 29th May 2008, 10:16 iss there any list of processes that can be killed without problems?
how do I use it ? it asks some questions, and where can I find the 'log' to view my processes? Thx.

Thanks for the clarification, but which one do you refer as system processes? If the ones mentioned by gkataria in the first post are system processes, then I can kill them too with ActiveFile (but not with the taskman of Tracker ;)).
BTW, has anyone tested this to be working on N73?
novalu 30th May 2008, 01:15 That's not in readme, but i think, that file megadeth.txt must be placed in C:\private\FCA00027. I have tested it, but i don't know, how i must use it, so meanwhile on my N73 it's doesn't work :(
wahowbyechi 31st May 2008, 02:44 Yeah, it's very kind if someone can teach how to let this program work on my phone.
For example, where the megadeth.txt file should be placed in?
Thanks in advance.
megadeth.txt should be on E:\megadeth.txt

sirkula 5th June 2008, 17:17 how do I add to the list....after I install it works but as soon as I add to the list it doesn't work anymore....
Here is my LOG file from first start, could someone tell me witch processes can be deleted (added to the list) without risk....
wahowbyechi 5th June 2008, 19:06 how much free memory we get with killing these processes?
Mate, it depends on how many processes you are going to kill.
Like the author, say, 2Mb in total.
And that's a huge gain for a low-mem smartphone.
wahowbyechi 5th June 2008, 19:10 Ive used it It only worked on my N73 & E65 not my N81 =(
Then, excuse me, which python version you are using?
Thanks in advance.
It also cannot work on my 6120c.
And still, there is no such software which is allowed to kill system process such as FaxModem.exe.

wahowbyechi 11th June 2008, 19:28 use jbak taskman to kill faxmodem.
Firstly, thanks, mate.
Yeah, the latest JBak Taskman can kill FaxModem.exe this time.
I've updated it.
It perfectly works now.
And it also added new function which allows users to kill certain processes while starting cell phones.
