What about the CIT map, is it working with the new version? This map is outdated and no so accurate liek CIT map.

I fixed the mlm of the new Sygic to work with the latest Navigreece and Navicyrpus maps from CIT. Also the pois from CIT and speed cams from index.pois.gr work great. Just use the icons and sounds of the original CIT map.

1) My apologies for the sygic link. i am sure i uploaded it somewhere but i forgot the change the link. it will be up in a while, the latest sygic 10 with english and greek language only.


2) its easy to install. there are several threads for this. this thread is just to give you the latest greek maps and sygic versions.

shortly:

a) copy paste all the sygic folders (maps, drive, etc) and the .sis file on root of mmc replacing the previous ones.

b) install the sis file of sygic

c) place the grc folder inside maps folder (which should be on root of mmc). be sure to have the grc.map inside x:maps/grc folder (so it should be x:/maps/grc/grc.map where x the mmc drive)

d) unlock maps with the keygen which is also simple by inserting the info it asks for. use the generated code inside sysgic mobile

i have used both sygic mobile 10 and ndrive 9.3.14 with the greek and other maps.So i want to say:
Ndrive new maps are by far better from those of sygic(especially for the eastern europe eg:Greece is about 88 mb whether sygic map is only 33),
but in gui and menu and options i liked sygic more.But because it is the maps that makes the difference i would like to ask if anybody knows any better greek map for sygic or if there is anyway to use ndrive's map to sygic.

ok... Aristoteli and something else...mls destinator now has traffic information in greece...is there any way to have it also on sygic or ndrive?

Why is the new map smaller? is it because of missing POIs?
Newer map data should give bigger map size...
Also CI says that they have added more than 2.500 new POIs..
Does anybody know why this happen?

its s60v5 so you will be able to. just try the latest sygic version. as some people reported to me it make take a while for it to find satellites initially but it will. i think vivaz gps is a little bit slow as on most s60 mobiles.

You just have to delete these folders from your memory card : Maps, Drive, Res, 2577. Then unistall Sygic and restart your phone. Finally install the new version. This worked for me.

OK, I found the cause of the "Disk Error" message... I found it by reading the other thread BluGR suggested.
Inside the "Drive" folder, there are several folders originally. Aristotelhs kept only the "Symbian" in his version, but, I (having the 5800 XP) needed the folder "Symbian_touch" which I found in the version provided by the other thread... Once I put it inside the "Drive" folder, everything worked OK.
No uninstallations and installations and deletions... Just put the right folder according your phone's OS inside the "Drive" folder...

In my opinion CIT is better because it's a greek company and provides feedback, TA had many errors in the past mainly with incorrect road directions because they were using only satellite images. I don't know if things are better with the new version.

I upgrade from version 7 to version 8 today and I noticed that there is always a process named sygicsmswatch.exe running... has anyone worked out a wat to stop this process from running on startup? My phone is a Nokia 5800 and unfortunately not hacked (otherwise I would have worked it out by now).

If my phone was hacked the first thing I would have done is either delete the file or change the file containing the autostartup programs, but since it's not hacked I do not have access to these folders/files :-(

Should you think of anything else I'm all ears... otherwise I'm kind of considering going back to version 7.

then maybe an app that handles startup processes. i am not keen on that though as i have never used one till now. if somebody knows he can reply

what you can do for now is use an app to kill the process everytime you start your mobile. i use taskspy, small and efficient

Thanks once again Aristotelhs... I tried looking for applications that handle what starts up and so on. The closest i got to is finding an application that starts up a specific application, but does not manager the exisiting applications that start up :-(

For now what I do is what you advised... I use TaskMan and I kill the process every time I start up the phone... but it get's annoying :-(

If you don't have an onscreen keyboard try changing language by pressing * or #, the manual suggests to press the "globe" icon but this is for onscreen keyboards.

Finally found a solution and I thought I should share it with the forum in case someone has the same problem! It seems that the problem was with the phone itself and not with sygic.

It worked by switching the phone language to english then back to greek and by selecting greek as the primary phone writing language (tools>settings>general>personalisation>language>writing language).
Now sygic cycles through greek characters and then latin with each key press!!

this kinetic thing may be enabled in setting.ini file. Open with txt editor, find the setting and change it according to what it was with previous version.

The info tha Sygic reports is incorrect, the first NaviAlbania map was launched in 2010.05. NaviGreece map file has creation date 30/09/2010.

Information for map provider's database release date is hardcoded inside pak-files and cannot be changed. There is only one Sygic version 8.06 which displays it in About screen, the company removed this feature afterwards.
I do not know about Albania map, but newer maps available for Greece and Cyprus, see links below. You should not make decisions based on file creation date, it can be changed very easly for different reasons.

As for if the south east europe pack maps version is fake or not well i am not going to check it now. I uploaded both this pack and the pack 2010.08 that lamer said. Use whichever you want. If i search what is going on later i will let you know guys.

What is true however is that maps version inside .pak files cant be changed at least not easily.

I have upgraded Sygic from 8.06 to 8.22 with the newest CIT map (2010.08) and I noticed that you can not plan a route avoiding daktylios (ring).
Is this a bug of 8.22 version??

You have uploaded the mlm file for MM2010 separately as zip (end of first post), but there is another one in the GR NT 07.2010 folder. Which one should we use?
Whichever is correct goes in the E:/maps folder, right?
From what I understand we

1. copy the /Drive and /Res folders to the E:/ (root)
2. create an E:/maps folder where we copy the wcl/wcl.pak and grc/grc.pak to the E:/ root (or copy the GR NT 07.2010 folder to the E:/ as is and rename it to maps)
3. copy the setupsymbian.sis file to the E:/ (root)
4. run the setupsymbian.sis from there?

3) Sygic 8.22 latest 2010 its en-gr only made by me (27MB)

Not to mention each map has its own license and mlm files. Is that feasible?

p.s. Is it just me or you cannot search by postcode anymore? It was really useful feature - did they drop it?

noone can use more than one same named maps, in this case GRC. If you want to try other greece maps you have to remove the previous one. No need to unlock again if you use the same mlm

So you are basically saying that Sygic doesn't just look at .\maps folder but also to .\maps\* i.e. checks for subfolders within the 'root' maps folder. I guess I can only have one level of subfolder, right?

Yes, that's it. I use both maps (TA and NT) and my structure of the map-folder is:
.\maps\mapsTA\.... and .\maps\mapsNT\... !

So i have a claer structure in the map-folder. But as mentioned above you can simply put a new folder (mapsNT) including the maps and the *.mlm in the existing map-folder

You have uploaded the mlm file for MM2010 separately as zip (end of first post), but there is another one in the GR NT 07.2010 folder. Which one should we use?
Whichever is correct goes in the E:/maps folder, right?

whichever mlm you use and unlocked it doesnt matter in real life as far as you unlock it

as for sygic installation place all folders (res, drive, maps etc) in root of memory card then install the sis. Place mlm inside root of maps folder as well as the map folder (GRC folder). use the maps i say depending on sygic vesion

dont worry i had the same problem. the new version of the keygen must be used thus checking you have the 8.16 version

With 8.24 version I insert the file greek.lang in Res/Skin but I can't see the greek language in the buttons and in some of the icons. Any solution about that??


*Ok problem risolved! I insert the files (from version 8.22) greek.lang in Res/Skin and the greek voice in Res/Voices and I setup sygic from the beggining chosing greek language and everything is fine now. My english is not so good but my hacking is better! :D

HI, does anybody know how to put 2 maps of the same country simultaneously? As far as I know the map must be in a folder with the country name in 3 letter abbreviation, eg. Cyprus = cyp, Greece = grc, so 2 versions of the same country how it can be done?
