anyone noticed its using alot of data now???

if you mean data on phone memory - yes it seems it can save more than 1mb cache as it was in previous versions..
but still only 511kb cache size, if installed on memory card... sucks :(

I wish somebody will crack this limit.

Yes, voice navigation would be really nice .. Works fine on N95 so far, only getting nowhere when searching for routes though ..

isn't it easier just to provide the link to The US ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) or the UK ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) versions?
That way you will always get the latest version and if you are worried about the size of the download then you really shouldn't be using this app at all!

The links are valid for all phones as they will recognise your phone and download the correct version whether that's symbian, WM, Blackberry or whatever.

Agree on that... just type in [Only registered and activated users can see links] in your phone´s browser and you're on the way...

But thanks for the UL/reminder, I was sitting with an old version here...

so this is network dependent charges each time we see the map?? can we download the maps and use them offline to locate current position?

confucious
1st June 2008, 20:31
@bagofcandies - No, the maps are downloaded in real time, as are the satelite images. It's data intensive but quite quick and doesn't matter if you are on an 'unlimited' data plan.

@tukyy84 - checkout Google Maps ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) on your PC. There are maps of the whole world but some more detailed than others. I believe the mobile version uses the same maps.
