what I know you start the app..

1. you can choose an app for what the later maps works or you can choose predefinied all apps .. fi you want to add a single new programm hit key 1

2. choose the programm an then hit the right key .. now you can choose the default map or you can edit the default map or crater a completly new map by hitting key 1 again

3.chose a name for the new map


4. chose the new name in the list or the default an hit the middle key of joystick

5. now click on " Clik to add key pair"

6. now you the : orignial key: 0 hit here middle key !!!

7. now you see a big list of the keys with the hexkeys

8 chosse the to map key and press ok

9 now go down and make the same for the new key

10 hit ok an now let the app run at the background

edit: OK here is the updated version I think don't know if it is a update, because it was postet with the instruction over .. for me it works now on my N95 v.21 you must map the keys and than exit the magickey app !!!! not run itat the background otherwise it wouldn't run.. have fun

Below is some Simple instructions,hope it will help

in app list
"All apps" means All Apps that not in the list

in key pair edit dialog
"Orignal key" means a key that your keypad has and you want to spare it to emulate other keys
"Map to :" means the key you need
Press Dial it will show 999 ,then you can input a key from keypad.
Press OK you can select from a list.

the app include a Setting UI and a background daemon.
when the Setting UI exits,It will tell the daemon to start working .

Unfortunately I have been unable to make anything but the media- and number keys work on my N95 8GB. This means that I can swap the numbers to make the calculator rather interesting to use ;) but can't find anything really useful to do with it.

I have a few suggestions, but they may be too time consuming to implement to be realistic.

a. A way to assign a button to a specific application.

b. Add in support for long press and double press and this could be a real killer app, like so many other leftup apps :)

It should support emulate all keys if There is no bug.
Long Key Press and Double Key Press Should already have been supported if I dont misunderstand what you meant.

vbag has 2 exes
it use vbag.exe to show a list of games.
and use vbag2.exe to play the game.we need to add vbag2.exe to our list,but maybe you cant find vbag2.exe in app list because it's not a "standard gui app".
The solution :
Select any app in the list , edit it ,the name is not important.
change the sid to vbag2's Sid,which is 0x20010F59 ,you can use active file's process list to find out running app's sid.
Hope it'll work.
Another solution :apply a keymap to "all apps" will make all apps (except these explicitly defined in the list) use the keymap ,But it seems not a good idea
Btw,vbag itself provide user-defined keys.

this app is really really useful but it haves 3 "problems". Since it can make maps by application and that is really great/what matters most, BUT the maps only work if the app in running in front and not on background. Also when screensaver kicks in (on my case i'm using cClock) and i press the play multimedia key it opens the default music player instead of pausing the music for e.g when using coreplayer (and it was running in front and working until the screensaver kicked in)

Third problem, after the screensaver kicks in and i press the play multimedia key, the auto rotation on N95-8gb stops working . I've been testing this all with coreplayer.

I leave here my request for you to see if it's possible to solve this 3 lilte things.

Off topic: if the app can grow up and really change key function to open other program(s) would be the perfect software.

ok this is what i have tried so far
i wanted to play fifa 08 in the ngage application using all 4 multimedia keys and pen key but i found that i cant use the play/pause key and the stop key because u can alredy use them in the game(they are A and B keys when u define ur controls) so i just assigned the forward, rewind and pen key. chose the map in all apps, ran the game and it worked fine.
But i dont want it to be like that for every application so i chose the games application(which is supposed to be the ngage application) ran the game but it didnt work properly. y is that?

This app changes which buttons on your fone do what!

ie: if you have a game that the buttons are not in the right position to use properly then you can change them to different button; re-map buttons to other buttons :)

Leftup, don't take me wrong but please add the option to also change what keys do, there's no such app atm and it ill a perfect add-on to magic keys.

Think about it. The gallery key and other keys would be much more usefull !

now last time i tried it worked! i was surprised, but when i tried the set another combination, restarted the phone again. then opened to program, and exited and worked again, then again restarted. why does this program restarting the phone so much time? :S

may i ask how come when i assign keys for fifa 2008 n-gage on my n95 8gb, the stop and play/pause button does not work.i have assigned rewind as pass/switch player, stop as shoot/sliding tackle, forward as through ball/GK charge, OK as sprint, pencil as skill move, and play as long pass. funny though only the stop and pla/pause button does not work. does anyone here experience this problem?

MagicKey works with in 2 modes - All apps mode, where every phone function will be remapped, another is specific apps mode, where you'll be able to select the application. The problem is, the application selection shows the installed .exe files (from which regular apps are run). On the other hand, N-Gage games are run from proprietary .exev files, which are not shown in the application selection screen and hence, remapping specifically for N-Gage games can't be done at this moment. So, only way to play N-Gage games with remapped controls is to select the All apps mode. For other games and apps, you can select them without any problem.

Never really used the N81's "media" button so I mapped it to the left shift key, also know as the PEN key.:dance:

This allows me to use Nstarter, Screenshot, etc

So people who like to map a key to an application, can maybe use Nstarter and map a combination of keys to an app like I do.

ok, i got vbag to work with volume keys on my n82 (hackable fw)...
the problem was, that when i held the key down, it first responded, then it didn't for a secound and then again it responded. just like when you hold down the volume key in the mp3 player app... first it goes one level up, then after a secound it raises the level automaticly.

i fixed it like this:
1. i choose vbag in the applist
2. i changed the sid to 0x20010F59 (case sensitive!)
3. i created a keyap (vol up to 1, vol down to 2)
4. i combined the map to the vbag app i created in step 2
5. exit keymagic
6. i opened vbag, remapped the a and b key to 1 and 2 (by pressing vol up and vol down)

now i can play gba games perfectly and i can also listen music while i play, which was also impossible without keymagic, because by using the vol. keys, it changed the volume of the media player and when i exit vbag, the music starts getting louder or less louder.
anyway, this is all fixed. i hope i could help somebody ^^

this application is grate!!! I have mapped all keys I need. even sliders. for example, when slider opens instead of screen flip, i have camera. when i close it camera closes.

there was some kind of Python app, but i am not sure. As far as i know easiest way (for hacked phone) is by modifying some txt files on your mobile.

It's funny since I had same problem for the first time, but I somehow figured it out. But now, after upgrading my firmware to 210.etc, the MagicKey exits after choosing any of the single apps.

I tried to use this app on my Omnia HD and it installed ok, but when i try to run it i geta "memory full" error. And my memory definitely isn't full, does anybody know what could be wrong?

Have the same problem. When I map keys for a specific app, it won't work, the original keys do work. When I map the keys for ALL apps, neither keys work. I'm on the N96.
