I personally will from now on choose to boycott rapidshare untill they realise the net is free and fair for all. so for all of you who cant get rapidshare try these links:

Hi, many many thanks for posting these South Africa maps. Can anyone help on how to install this?

I have a Garmin Nuvi. I extraceted the txt file and renamed it to "gmapsupp.img". It is 154mb. I copied this to the root of the sd card and put it in a folder called "garmin".

I have generated the unlock code for the name using my unit ID and put this in a text file "gmapprom.unl" on the root of the sd card.

When I switch the garmin on, I get the error "can't unlock maps".

How do I unlock the map? Can anyone help please?

I don't have the mapsource product either and I can't find the Africa version to do it on my pc.

how to unlock the map. I tried it with the garmin kengen but the device still "says unable to unlock maps" used the map id provided 1214 & the instructions given to rename the file also checked the device id correctly.
How to get this unlocked......... anyone thier to help:ashamed:

Hey there all,

I struggled quite a bit too before getting the Garmin South Africa Streetmaps 2008March - pack to work on my Xperia, but finally cracked it!!! :egdance:

Well, here is what I did... When I firstly installed Garmin Mobile XT, I installed the base map and the South Africa Navigator V6, and it worked fine. I then downloaded the Garmin South Africa Streetmaps 2008March files from Rapid Share and extracted them, like instructed... ok, now I think this is where most people make the common mistake to only try to unlock the map by putting the map ID "1214" in and to generate the code...THIS IS :wrong:

Here is what you do...:dance2:

1. Open the Garmin Keygen 1.3 tool
2. Paste your "card ID" into the given space at the top
3. Generate the unlock code and overwrite the code in "sw.unl" that is located on your SD card and save
4. Now you follow the steps of unlock the Garmin South Africa Streetmaps 2008March - pack, by putting the Keygen on custom map set, with map ID "1214"
5. Generate the unlock code for the map and apply it to the "unl" file for the map...and youre done!!!:goodluck:

Everything is suppose to work fine now.

Regards,
Brainer
