While searching internet I found a product called Garmin City Navigator 2009 NT v11. Does anyone know if this stands for a new version of City Navigator 2008 NT v10 or it's only a joke? I cannot find this product on official web site, howerer, a similar map dated to the year of 2009 is already available for North America.

Installation guide

1)extract all files to grmamnt.txt
2)rename grmamnt.txt to grmamnt.zip and extract again
3)Burn all files to DVD if you like to or Navigate to Windows\CNNANT2009Update_ENU.msi
Wait for installer to finish.(you must run it from there otherwise will ask for previous version to overwrite it)
4)Create yourself a key for Mapsource using the Map ID: 325
Load new maps to your GPS.

If you search a bit on internet you will find a torrent called "City Navigator Europe v11 NT 2009".
Extracted it is only 1.2GB compared to v10 which is 1.4GB.
Installed on my Garmin and it says :

City Navigator Europe NT 11
[1] DUBLIN, IRELAND, PLYMOUTH, ENGLAND, SOUTHAMPTON

compared to my previous version :

City Navigator Europe NT 2008
[1] ALL

So I have no clue what kind of version this is ....

first when the maps are loading,it displays 2006 Navteq.
second,i have cn nt2008 and i have the Tomtom 675.1322 europe map that is a 4th quarter 2006/1st quarter 2007 navteq release(rider2),wich shows the same incorrections that this one has,and that in cn nt2008(v10)are corrected.

Guys, sometimes maps differ in size that could be related to a better compression of the data. But I can't be sure on this specific version...

I'm guessing this is a faked map, There were different years flashing up on booting my Sat Nav and some were 2006. The instructions for installing this map do say to use Map ID 197 in the KeyGen. I've googled this ID and it is the ID for the V9 2006 map.

I'm calling it a fake and have put my 2008 map back on.

This thread was started in 22.06.2008. At that time the map was a fake. The one you pointed was posted on ipmart to about a week ago and it seems to be real. I'm not 100% shore, but...we go with that.

Don't know if it means anything to the authenticity of the torrent but the REAL map as supplied by Garmin doesn't go on sale until 15th Oct 2008. Maybe / Maybe not the torrent can't be real unless it is somehow a leaked copy.

I know what you talking about and i agreed with you, but everybody say it's real, even if is on sale only at two vendors and only on SD card. As i said, let's wait for official release and than we will see if this is real. I personally hope not, because i really hoped that Garmin will extend the the street level coverage of the map for my country too, but this SD card release does not. Sad thing.

Actually the same situation exists in Turkey. There is only one company that produces the raw data. Garmin buys this from them but the end product is marketed as a separate product under the Garmin logo. I've never seen this map (latest version July 2008) combined with other Garmin maps. However, if installed properly it can coexist with other Garmin maps.

Yes, i know but the same thing is in Hungary, see Navyguide Hungary and steel Garmin extended the coverage for this country, now they are almost the same. I think for roumanian map data provided by Suncart it's all about the price(money). :D:

I have downloaded nt2009 from TPB and can confirm that it is indeed a different mapset to nt2008.I hav a garmin i3 on nt2008 and nt2009 on my N95 a recently opened by pass near me shows up on my N95 with xt(nt2009) but not on my i3(nt2008).I simply transferred mapfile over to my n95 and ran keygen then put unlock code into file already on my phone and hey presto!I now have both 2008 and2009 working on myN95.

Hi, Yup I doubted it at first but yes this is the 2009 version - it has more speed limits on more roads at least that i've seen.

My only problem with it is that when installed I no longer receive Traffic Reports even though I have a traffic signal (just comes up None Found). I also can't do any postcode searches comes up with the message 'no detailed maps found'. Any ideas ??

Its probably just my device not being compatible or something, but I am using a Kenwood DNX-8220BT.

it sounds like you only have the worldwide base map installed.Maybe you should try uninstalling and then re-installing nt2009 again to start with.did you use a keygen to unlock your maps.Is a kenwood compatable with garmin mapsource?does it use tele atlas maps?

Same problem here - I had a program which unlocked all the previous mapshare maps - but not this one. How do we unlock the mapshare map when the only option appears to be an online activation.

Go to Utilities/Manage Map Products/Unlock Regions/Add and there put your unlock code.

Thanks Ioji - worked perfectly and latest maps now working on my Kaiser.

I had expected to need to add the gmapsupp.unl file but did not need to - it worked without.

Is that because mapshare was unlocked to my kaiser and I will only need to add the gmapsupp.unl file if I put maps on a different device (though all kaisers use the same ID number!!)? Or have I misunderstood?

Yes, it is CNE 2009. It's newer and the last one.

Why don't you use mapsource version and transfer to your device, the link is one page back.

Hi I have tried this on a nuvi 200, loaded the maps into mapsource and unlocked them but when I transfer them to the SD card and turn on the nuvi it says the maps are locked. How can this be if they are unlocked in mapsource ??

When you unlocked the map in mapsource did you use your device ID? If not, the map will only be unlocked in mapsource, it cannot be transferred to multiple devices.

Yup almost certain I used his device id, it was not my own as I have a tomtom myself. Will get it from him again and try. Thanks for the quick reply.
