whats the difference in features from this tomtom 7 version? and the previous one? also is this unlocked?

I've lil problem with installation...cab workin perfect but if I startin app ending on map start,I give all data files to program files/navigator and still dont work :(

Of course it works in the i780.. does on mine at least.. just update to the latest ROM (DXHE1)

i780 uses a Qualcomm MSM6260 NOT a SiRFIII

As for the GPS on the device... just use GPSGate to get it working correctly :)

It works without GPSGATE, just select other NMEA, 4800 baud, COM8 ... also, set External GPS in settings to COM8 port, not GDP8...

This is working on a m700 (HTC 3600) but it runs very slow and the map takes 5-10 seconds to change at some junctions - leading to some missed turns

First...thank bossman for the post of this very nice tomtom 7 release. It works very good with HTC TouchCruise.

Secon...About the map activation... Check the meta.txt file in the above package to see if it has the MAP VERSION included in the meta.txt file. If it does not THE MAP CANNOT BE HACKED!

third...Once the map is hacked... save the .dct file and you can use it with future release or update of the same map....

First thing it ask when installing is if you want to copy tt6 favorites ...
If you have not seen this screen I doubt this is still possible

I don't really consider myself a novice to doing these things, but I can not seem to get the maps to work. I have tried several different things and keep getting "No Maps Found" on the select a map screen...

1. Where do the maps go in the program folder?

2. How do I properally activate the map? I tried the program listed in this thread but it would not recgonize the drive I entered and did not let me go further...

I would really like to try this program... :(

Its working perfectly in my O2 XDA Orbit.....BUT the re-routing takes longer that its prev version....

Also expected TTS facility in the latest version - BUT not supported.

I have the same PDA and the same problem in that I can't get mapshare to work either.

hey guys...good news..to make traffic and other features works you need create file phone.dll in windows folder...go for it!!!!!!!!!!

Tip for those with "No Audio at all after installation of TT7":

- search on your device for the following 2 files and delete them
1.) BtCoreIf.dll
2.) BtSdkCE30.dll
3.) Softreset your device
4.) Sound works perfectly again - in OS and in tt7

These are files which were falsely replaced by tt7 - after deletion the originals from ROM are used again - same procedure as in the early days of tt6

seems like you beginner my friend..you need to put your flie in PDA windows directory...when you opening your explorer you will see windows folder...then open it and hit paste,or better do that from you desktop to pda...

Hi kolesa4i, Mapshare is only available for non-ppc-devices. TomTom Home 2 connects to the tomtom-network and then I get the message: "No updates available for your map"
Have someone tested this phone.dll-trick...?

Still no TTS ?, please let me know. I just installed Destinator 7 on my Samsung Omnia i900
and the TTS is a nice feature. I have TT V6 installed as well and will compare the two GPS programs.

TT7 cannot use Version 8 map, you need to find version 7 map.

If your external reciever is BT (Bluetooth), then you need to pair your PPC and GPS, then create an outgoing serialcomm port under the BT settings on your device. Start TT7 and select BT receiver and Comm port.

or.. if you are still unsure, download the one free city map which tomtom offers you... and see where it puts it..

Seems every version of TomTom 7 I've installed the voices are missing. I've placed custom voices in navigation\, navigation\voices and navigation\sound and it still doesnt work.

hi i am having the same issue as above poster. in tomtom settings the gps sections shows acquired signal and coordinates but in the main map it is showing as searching for valid gps signal :S can someone please give any suggestions on how to fix this?

i am using a samsung i780 with TT7

also when i was following the install instructions i could not find ttsystem file. hence i couldn't do the 2 following steps

8. From the tomtom device (or mem card) cut and paste the "ttsystem" file into the "tt7_patch" folder

9. In the tt7_patch folder run RunMe.bat, wait, then there will be a "ttsystem" and a "ttsystem.old" copy ttsystem back to tomtom device

Hi, I'm actually having the same problem on my Toshiba Portege G910. TT finds the map but cannot connect to the internal GPS. When I try all the possibilities, the best result that I get is a signal for one second, that can just log the position, but it disconnects itself immideately and never shows satelites.

I have to use Destinator 2007 which works perfectly and other GPS SOftware as well.

You need to enter it as

tt7_keygen.exe "C:\Crack\" "XXXXX-XXXXX"

make sure you have the space between the end quote and beginning quote and leave the hyphen out of the device id.

8. From the tomtom device (or mem card) cut and paste the "ttsystem" file into the "tt7_patch" folder

9. In the tt7_patch folder run RunMe.bat, wait, then there will be a "ttsystem" and a "ttsystem.old" copy ttsystem back to tomtom device

could this be the reason?


Have u managed to solve your problem? I too can't find a ttsystem file on my HTC TyTn II and therefore can't do the patch!
I'm stuck!!

Hi, I'm actually having the same problem on my Toshiba Portege G910. TT finds the map but cannot connect to the internal GPS. When I try all the possibilities, the best result that I get is a signal for one second, that can just log the position, but it disconnects itself immideately and never shows satelites.

I have to use Destinator 2007 which works perfectly and other GPS SOftware as well.

If you read through this thread you will see various fixes. The best is to get a copy of 'gpsgate' - this will get you your signal takes about 2/3 mins first time you load it up from soft reset. and view a video called 'tomtom omina'...dont woorry if you dont have an omnia the fix and solutions are the same for all internal gps WM phones.
