1. Download, unrar the package and overwrite the executable in your device with the supplied patched one.
2. Replace your data.zip with the supplied one.
3. Place the license file into the \iGO8\License folder. Delete any other license file present in that folder.

Installation from an SD Card:
1. Download and unrar the content of the archive to your SD Card.
2. Insert the SD Card, iGO autorun should pop-up. Follow the onscreen installation instructions.

Installation from Internal Storage (HTC Diamond users):
1. Unrar the content of the archive into your Internal Storage
2. Rename application.dat to iGO8.exe
3. Open SYS.TXT file located in your IGO8 directory and add the following section to it:

it will run on an HP ipaq 310 but the backlight will dim after 30 seconds. Has anyone found a way to fix this issue? So far only .29000 version seems to work correctly on the ipaq 310.

Thanks, it works and the skin is so useful. However, there is a bug in "ABCD" keyboard layout when in 240x320 potrait mode, the "U" letter is missing. I have managed to fix it by replacing the "\ui_igo8\240_320\ui\keyboards_240_320.ui" file inside data.zip with the file from previous version.

Got it working on my Apache, however I can't get the POI to work even after copying the appropriate POI database into the POI folder.

Works if A-GPS is disabled...

For custom POI to work, create a this folder and sub-folder in your iGO folder in the SD card:

\userdata\poi\

Put the POI files in it and start iGO... Start up of iGO may become longer due to loading of this POI file... Hope it works for you as it did for me...

On my diamond when I start iGO8.exe seems to beloading for a while (no change in the screen ) and then nothing happens.

I istalled it on my HP iPAQ 6956 and works perfectly,exept the "fatal error" message that appears occasionally.I used the Data.zip file from an older version which contains the 240x240 skin for my device.Is this the corrct one,or should i replace it with another file?

i had it on my ks20, and guess its still working fine...

but i have a problem with my gps. it seems to scan communication ports till 6, baud rate 57600, and it stops there... but the top still shows "scanning communication ports..."... so how? can i use the gps offline instead?

How ever, the path that's given there is not working for me, the page says:

1. To apply a new wallpaper in iGO8, download the wallpaper of your choice on this blog (click on the picture to obtain directly the full resolution .bmp file) and put it in the folder ui_igo8/240_320/background on your memory card (if this folder doesn't exist just create it !)
If you prefer landscape mode, just rotate the picture and put it in the folder ui_igo8/320_240/background

I've tried the ui_8 folder directly on my SD card, inside the iGO8 folder and finaly insode the igo8/content folder. Non of them are working.

If so, what are the changes UP TO 2.5 (not only for 2.5) and why is this better than stock?

Do you use this skin? Does it offer transparency in all map "peripheral" graphics? (if not, I don't like it)

Works fine on HTC P3300, except that the device gets locked and prompts for my PIN after 5 min's (as set in the screen lock settings). Is there any way to get around this one and disable the screen lock till iGo8 is running? Thanks in advance.

I found the solution at XDA developers. You have to turn off Assist GPS and it will work

I cant seem to get the buildings to show up and have looked for help everywhere. Is there anyone that can assist me on this?

I have a pda Mio A701 and when I try to install the full app an error is displayed: Can't copy: \Storage Card\iGO8\iGOToday.dll and installation exits when clicking ok on this message.

- Added speed and section camera voice alerts with working overspeed alarms:
- 1. Configurable via Settings -> Warnings -> Speed Camera Settings -> Audible Warning -> Advanced.
- 2. Optional voice alerts in mph or kph dependant on regional units setting. Note that the regional setting must match the map you are using.
- 3. Configurable advance audible alert distance for speed cameras with range of 300 to 800 metres.
- 4. Overspeed warning tone alert at 200 metres if over the speed camera limit.
- 5. Overspeed warning tone alert if the average section speed exceeds the section camera speed limit.
- 6. Optional beep while approaching a speed camera or whilst section camera mode is active.
- 7. Adjustable voice and beep alert volume via slider. Note that in landscape mode this is on the sound settings page.
- 8. Tap the active speed camera icon to toggle between: All Beeps On - Warning Beep reduced to Normal Beep - All Beeps Off.
- 9. Tap and Hold an active section camera icon to terminate the current active section. For use when end of section camera is not detected.

Is necessary for me to install the application directly in the A701 and not in the card.

I have used a lot of skins and they have all worked fine. I also have all maps and poi and they all seem fine. if you pm me your email I can send you the items I am using.

Also, which version from the first post did you install?

My problem is that I can't even install iGO8 on my Sprint HTC Touch. I copied al the files into my SD card, and when I run the AutoRun, I get th error "Can't Copy to \Storage Card\iGO8\application.dat"

And iGo crashing at the "POI manager init" really sucks =/

New data.zip (6.32MB) appears to have some errors....... for example the greek letter Φ (F) is missing from the greek keyboard when one searches for a city or road. I installled the new IGO8 with the old data.zip (12MB) and everything seems OK; do you think I am making any mistake? :afraid:

I managed to install iGO8 on HTC Diamond. (the problem I had was in fact to rename the "application.dat" into Igo8.exe", because it kept the .dat extension. So, I had to change it only with Command Prompt with the following command : ren application.dat iGO8.exe)
However, I can launch the application by just going in File Explorer and double click on the iGO8.exe. I do not have the icon in Programs. The iGO application does not appear anyware in the system. What to do? It's very annoying becouse if I receive a phone call during navigation, IGO8 closes automatically (or just disappears, I do not know)
Can anybody help? How can I put iGO8.exe icon into Programs and the system to recognize the iGO8 installation?

However, I have a big problem with this new version of Igo : it works fine on my TYTN II, but when I want to display the POI's, the POI list is now empty (but on my TYTN II the directory is full of POI's !). Only my personnal POI's appear.
So I installed back my "old" version of Igo, and now the list of POI's appears correctly ...

So I guess there is a bug about the POI's on this new version of Igo.

Anyone else had this problem ?

I'm new on this "GPS Stuff". For me, the most incredible software is iGO8. It's working like a charm on my HTC Touch Diamond. Instead this, I really need an functional Brazil Map.

Having everytime the problem:

"Program application database cannot be found. Please insert original application SD card."

Even I changed the sys file:

you have to add

[folders]
app="Internal Storage/My Documents/.../iGO8" (the exact path of the folder that you put the igo8 folder)


but still everytime the same error.

Do I also have to unpack the rar files in the igo folders like: branding and data?

And I'm a new user to WM6.1, I have no idea how to create a shortcut myself.. Could anyone explain how to do it? :s All i get is a shortcut to the uninstaller..

1. Use the File manager and go to the .exe, click on it until a menu appears and select copy from the menu.
2. Got to windows Start Menu folder and click (keep pressed) on an empty area until you get a menu again, select Paste as shortcut.

Does anyone have a link to the content manager app? Can't find it anywhere, i'd like to keep my maps up to date.

Installed the latest version, I now seem to have a problem with backlight on a XDA Orbit.

Prior to the June updated version I never had a problem, I have un-installed and re-installed, but the backlight just turns it self off after 30 or 40 seconds. I was reading a tread on ppcwarez site and it looks like I am hot the only one with this problem, but now for some reason the site seems to have been closed down.

Has one else had this problem and have they managed to sort it out?

the re's a setting where you tell whether or not to use the system power settings, which might help. Works OK for me on a Dell Axim x51v, but iGo is setting the screen to dim after 30 seconds, which is annoying, and has to be chhanged manually each time.

Great software in fact one of the better GPS software i come across however the new igo8 version has a very woeful POI for south east asia region.
I revert back to the old igo 2006 just for the POI.

Have to install a PDA with WM5 WM6 put the two folders: 2577 and IGO8 folder on the memory card in your PDA if not install after a soft reset manually install in folder 2577 AUTORUN.EXE.
