Hi everyone. I hv problem:
I hv MOBO ASUS P5VD2-X and operating system Win XP SP2. When i plug ex. memory card reader to my USB ports it works, but in tray shows toollip with: This device can works faster if you plug it to USB 2.0 port."
I dont get it: i hv all ports USB 2.0 no matter: in front or in backside, but Windows shows that all of this is not USB 2.0. Even file transfer to memory card Sandisk 4GB or MP4 Player(USB 1.1 compatible) or Kingston Data Traveler 8GB(USB 2.0) is the same.

Check the ASUS site for updated bios for your mobo/MB OR check if in BIOS you have USB 2.0 enabled :weedman:

you use front or rear USB ports?
could be you Card reader cable also...
you can try this also: control panel->device manager-> USB devices, double clike the usb2.0 controller, go to driver, choose->roll back driver.
Try to connect a USB 2.0 device and see if you still see the message.

In the Device Manager, on the USB controllers list, click the + sign. If the listed ports shows yellow question marks, then you may have to re-install the driver.

try to shutdown your PC, connect your device and startup after with device connected...How is working ?
You can try also to disable/re-enable USB in BIOS after power cycle...

If no luck, i hope you NEVER unplugged your USB devices WITHOUT "stopping them" first ("Safely Remove Device"). Otherwise the transient voltage/current may break/burn your USB's.

In device manager see whether USB 2 enhanced option is present or not..

if not uninstall all USB drivers and then restart the PC.
In BIOS see whether USB2 is enabled or not.

if in case after doing all these if u still get the same problem.

Add USB PCI slot...so tat u can connect ur USB device

may be the cardreader itself
