View Full Version : ****trick - how to hide apps from menu without installing any program****
i just stumbled on this today while using xplore.... no need to install any hiding app..here is how it works....
1. turn caps off.
2. open explore
3. go to private> 10003a3f > import > apps>
4. select all the .rsc files linked with the app that you want to hide.
5. press 2 to move it
6. move it to any folder you like ( but dont forget that folder. i advise you to make a special folder under any name, under any folder)
7. go to menu.
8. voila...app is no more...
9. to unhide the app, just follow the reverse procedure..
10. i.e. go to your special folder, highlight all the .rsc files that you want to see
11. press 2 to move them
12. move it to private> 10003a3f > import > apps>
13. go to menu
14 app is there..
easy, aint it...
please try and tell if it works for you...'

Alfiyanto 1st July 2008, 21:45 Yes its work. But You cant run the app again or cant run it from sys/bin/app.exe..
I want to hide my applications icons, but I still can run it by open *.exe file from sys/bin like hidden app. No landmark icon on My menu, but I can open the app from sys/bin. Yeah just like that..

I'd like to ask u for this... by using this trick, u can't have both running programs and hiding them at the same time ... right?
dont know...if you hide your app, then you dont know if its running or not...to be honest, i dont think it should stop programs from working anyhow...the only thing is that you wouldnt be able to find out whether the app you have hidden is running or not...
Tyx 17th August 2008, 19:30 Has anyone found a way to hide apps that you didn't install? e.g. the Adobe Reader which was preinstalled on the phone, so is presumably in Z:...
JP 18th August 2008, 18:56 you cant mess with the z drive...thats what its made for...you cant hide eg adobe...but you can hide the pdf files...just change the attributes to hidden using y browser or xplore...a patch might do it...but then someone has to make it..
Nabil6391 19th August 2008, 22:13 do you know any way of hiding the java apps...they are not in the private folder of the hacked phone.....only the symbian apps are present........
ahwee321 20th August 2008, 15:40 i dont have any files in private.???
on which drive r u talking about/??
ROM drive or C or E??
for c: only hacked phone you can view it
for e: you can use a pc to move the files if your phone isn't hacked but opening the application will then be troublesome...

nice trick but if we can find a way to hide the apps whilst being able to use it or the ability for the app to autostart and be able to run in the background, that will be even better!
