##SIGMA TEL AUDIO MICROPHONE## cant get it to work.?
I have the above named mic runnin on xp. It used 2 work now it dont! I made sure its plugged in correctly , and I used the hardwaretest wizard and it says that it cannot detect my voice. Iv tried various stuff like checkin that its not muted, volumes up and correct mic is selected but no joy. Any quick way 2 get it working ne1? Cheers!

I've tried it all, sticking it in the rear, up the front, tweaking the volume in Sigma Tel's settings, switching all the input options, boosting--and then did the same thing with XP: end result is that the most I can get out of it is a faint whisper of a pickup. I've had better luck with two empty soup cans and a stand of string. Short of unistalling the software and letting XP manage it, I don't know what else to try. Updating drivers? Haven't tried it but don't have faith. Good Luck!

Right click my computer, properties, hardware, device manager then uninstall sound card. Then restart PC and windows will reinstall it.

Once finish installing, run test hardware again (on sound, voice then test hardware).

Hopefully it will run now. If not, might be your mic have problems.

i have tried that but still it wont work...
i can see the microphone as a recorder...i can adjust the volume but the balance thing is grayed...i cant adjust the balance... what do should i do to fix it?

I hope you plug it correctly on pink slot. Check from device manager if does not have any errors.

Try to use your mic to other computer.

my mic is working just fine in other PC... but how come it wont work on my PC?

any solution there? i tried MYk your advice but still nothing...!
