need to connect an 40 gb hard disk to my mother board but i didnthave slot to connect and my mother board was jetway945GCm2s-A2-6H,it has default sata hard disk slot but i had normal hard disk,can any one tell how to connect and make it use without buying external case for hard disk thnx friends:confused:

New motherboard should be have 1 ide slot. i don't know does market have ide to sata converter tools.

but if no ide slot at all. u can't do anything unless get a sata drive.

well i find just one soln for this probs and that is the External Hard Drive casing or else i dont know if you can get, there are certain convertors from sata to IDE cables which you can use for your HD.

IF you have a IDE CD/DVD rom, then you find one more IDE connector on the same cable which goes from the mother board to the CD/DVD rom......Image attached of that cable.

Let me know which computer model you have .. If you got it assembled then, let me know the motherboard model

I got a picture of your computer's motherboard. Now where you see Two orange slots next to Battery(Looks like silver coin), The Bigger one is IDE slot where you r CD/DVD rom might have been connected. If so then you can check iif you have the same ribbon cable which I showed above, If not, then you can get it easily from local computer store in a very cheap price....That will actually detect the HDD on primary slave location.
