hi guys this is my first time on this forum.
i really need some quick advice (in an hour) .I have an intel 845 chipset with 256MB DDR RAM. iam going to upgrade the it 1GB.
First of all will Intel 845 support a 1GB DDR RAM?
OR should i buy 2 RAMs of 512MB each?
out of the 2 configs which will be better.

You need to tell what brand and model of your mother board.

Of course much better to use 1GB to save slot than 2 pcs 512MB.

The only thing good about using 2 pcs 512mb is when you RAM is defective, you still have 1 RAM to make your PC run not like a single 1GB ram.

Its more important to find out if your motherboard will support 1gb and what speeds it supports, you may even need to upgrade the bios before getting your ram, check your motherboards makers website.
