hi
i got a 1gb integrated hypermemory graphics card and my games only just run at minimum settings. 1GB should be more than enough to play need for speed most wanted at maximum or medium settings.
whats going on.. ive re-installed drivers. re installed game... formatted the comp and re-installed xp... and still i get the same thing... problem with my graphics card or am i missing something?
thanks:confused:

Have you tried to adjust the game settings? Check the requirement of the game. It might not supported.

1 GB card doesn't mean a 100% performance rate because Hypermemory cards borrow segments from ur RAM - it also depends on ur CPU and amount of RAM installed. try adding more RAM (upgrading ur RAM to 2gb is fine) and u will see an increase in game performance.

angryokoy is correct. Hypermemory borrow system RAM to assist in the rendering process. The development of Hypermemory was to lower the prices of video cards and onboard chips by eliminating the need to place expensive processing chips on the card itself.
You don't say how much system RAM you have, but unless you've got over 2GB and a stripped down version of Windows, you won't play these games maxed out. You'll have to drop settings. The real memory on your card is not more than 512MB. That's the max on ATi chips at the moment.

Just a small extra note. I got an 8800gts, 4GB 800mhz system ram and a quad 6600 cpu which only just runs NFS at max. The 8800GTS takes up two slots on the board and cost me about $400 2 years ago.
Unless yo spend that sort of money, you'll never get to be really able to enjoy the most from the game.
You have to look at the recommended hardware specs and realise that what they say are the minimum specs to get the game running on the lowest possible settings.

rep + for explanation (about hyper-fcukin'-mem) @bubbleduck: put some REAL mem (not shared) in your system and you'll be just fine...
