View Full Version : Navigator 7.450.9028 WinCE - works OK now
lamer314 3rd August 2008, 11:45 As many of you know, running the TomTom7 from this threads
TOMTOM NAVIGATOR 7 ON A Pocket PC ? (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=219038)
TomTom Nav 7 for PocketPC (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=272506)
will cause "Not enough memory" error on PNA with Windows CE.
OK guys, finally the solution was released
In short, TomTom is trying to call some method of PIMStore.dll which is obviously is missing on PNA, so software calls the method pointing on address 0 (well I'm just translating, I don't know much about dll-calls). The Memory Error is just wrong interpretation of Exception handler, and has nothing to do with memory itself.
Replace your TomTom Navigator.exe discussed in above threads with the patched version and enjoy it.
Long time nobody could run it on WinCE 4.2, then reported working OK here:
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2266831&postcount=199
More details for Win CE 4.2 owners (tutorial and exe, thanks to demonfatal):

In attached container you'll find followed links:
- Full working copy (9028) grabbed from my NavGo SY885, 3.5" 320x240, WinCE 5.0;
- TomTom executable 7.450 (9028);
- TomTom executable 7.45? (9030);
- TomTom executable 7.451 (9033);
If TomTom does not see maps stored in root or My Documents, then put note_prj.dll in TomTom folder, maybe it'll solve the problem. Thanks to Twiggerdingo. File can be found at http://hpcmonex.net/izemize/noteprjs.zip.
On the screenshot the buildings' contours are visible, as they appear starting from version 7 of TomTom.

alexnr75 3rd August 2008, 12:50 Working on Medion P4410 !! Thanks a lot.
puca 3rd August 2008, 13:01 were have you guys got the map folder and what is it called
alexnr75 3rd August 2008, 13:15 @Puca
I have put it in the root. Name is not important. By coincidence I didnot change the name. I used TT Benelux_715.1689.
lamer314 3rd August 2008, 13:20 I put maps into My Documents folder, though it will work from the root as well. Each map in separate folder.
Looks like this version of TT7 works with version 7.20 maps only. See compatability list at http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-map-versions.php
Twiggerdingo 3rd August 2008, 18:55 Gonna try it out immediately! Thank you for sharing this news!:urtheman:

Try to put any map in "My Documents" folder in main memory - will it see them?
Twiggerdingo 3rd August 2008, 19:28 i still get the no maps found error have they found a fix for this yet
Put this ddl in your navigator folder (where the tomtom navigator.exe is).
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9S2EKJG0
Afterwards, it will see all your maps which are on the root of the sd.
rusigor 3rd August 2008, 19:47 Looks like this version of TT7 works with version 7.20 maps only. See compatability list at http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-map-versions.php
Don't believe them! On my PDA this version sees all 7xx maps and all 65x-680 maps:
http://www.ipmart-forum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=421826&stc=1&d=1217778119
With no probs it sees maps 675 and higher, but you can fool it by correcting file [your map].pna - as you see on picture - I corrected version number in *.pna file from 650.1194 to 675.1409 - It swallowed it!
BTW on 4pda forum men writes that PNA doesn't see 6xx maps. I have no PNA at the moment and can't check it out:sorry:
Twiggerdingo 3rd August 2008, 19:53 For the record, ive tried my old Benelux MROE version 6.75 1409 and it did not show when i wanted to select a different map. For now, i can see only v720 working here. Gonna try mapupdate now! LOL!
BTW, i run this on my cartrek600, wince 5.0. Have 21 mb free.
demonfatal 4th August 2008, 13:02 I have again a error when i load the map !
> Not enough memory is available !
Please have you the solution ??
I have a wince 4.2 device (navman icn530)
With 52264 kb free memory inside.
Thanks.
Twiggerdingo 4th August 2008, 13:24 difference is that i have a wince 5.0 pna. You 4.2. But i am not sure if this is the thing.
Did you copy the correct (new) tomtom navigator.exe from this post? (together with the tt7 install, you need the new data.chk as well).
Maps show up? Which map? Big or small. Ive had it yesterday when i tried the western and central europe map after i put in the sd card. I resetted and the map did work now.
Hope this helps for u.
alexnr75 4th August 2008, 13:57 @Demonfatal
I think a reset will solve your problem.
@all
I have a problem with gps signal reception. When I touch the screen (Medion 470T) it loses signal:confused: I won´t come back. After running iGO and running TT7 again, signal returns.
seltsimees 4th August 2008, 14:19 i have tried this new tt.exe on wince 4.2 device and also no luck. Before mistake was that tomtom did not see the map and now its say that there is not enough memory. :afraid:
demonfatal 4th August 2008, 14:51 Same error Again !! :??:
I have reset the device and i get this message :

I have installed "TT_Nav_7.450.9028_repack3-qvga-blue.cab.zip"
and replace .exe file with the patched file in : TT7_PNA.ZIP
I don't understand...
I use a very small map for test

Twiggerdingo 4th August 2008, 16:37 Again, i have a wince 5.0 device (cartrek 600 aka bluepilot). But ik do not know if this is the difference.
I was lazy and just copied the new exe over my (formermerly) working version of tt6.03. Then i extracted the cab from the diamondversion of TT7 (you know the 1st 1 that was released end june) using wincabce. Only the data.chk ive copied/overwrite in my tt6 directory on sd.
Then started program, no maps. Then added the note_prj.dll i posted and then could select the (already cracked) map (which is on the root of the SD).
If this does not work, then maybe its really wince4.2 related...

Voyager2003 6th August 2008, 11:28 Working on Medion P4410 !! Thanks a lot.
Hi,
What settings did you use to recognize the GPS on the medion?
~V.
alexnr75 6th August 2008, 11:42 @Voyager2003
I am using other NMEA / 4800 Baud
The strange thing is that TT not always has GPSsignal reception. When I have used iGO8 ( always reception) and start TT7, TT7 has reception untill I touch the screen:confused: The GPS status shows that TT7 had reception, but cannot find the GPS anymore.
Voyager2003 6th August 2008, 11:46 @Voyager2003
I am using other NMEA / 4800 Baud
Ok, same problem here with Medion PNA 460.
Com2, 4800, other NMEA seems to "recognize" the gps receiver but never gets a decent lock.
Other than that, everything seems to be working fine.
Twiggerdingo 6th August 2008, 11:56 @lamer314: This is a working copy of my Cartrek600 version. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S9HDRPDS
TT7 Standalone + extra's (raster, helpme files (anwb, medical and nautical), beneluxmap and voices). Hope you can add it to the start post (maybe also the note_prj.dll to make maps visible when having difficulties, this often occurs on devices with a resdent flash memory).
@DeanOZ: Fiddle with the option "other external threaded GPS" and try different com ports and baudrate settings (or google for the comport and baudrate settings of your device).
@Suniloffline: AFAIK TTS only works from navcore 8. I am very interested too Same goes for Realitity View, but thats not available in TT7 as well (yet).
@matteosg: Glad i could help!
lamotta 6th August 2008, 15:09 same problem with PNA470, but if y push everytime the shortcut , it's work OK
any idea ?

what about mapshare?
glamster 6th August 2008, 21:03 Thanks Lamer

PieterPost 7th August 2008, 00:49 To run tt7, do you need extra .dll files.
I always get "Cannot find tomtom or one of its components"
I have win ce 5.0
Twiggerdingo 7th August 2008, 00:58 yes you need more then only the tomtom navigator.exe obviously. Best is to try one of the standaloneversions lamer and i posted and modify it for your own system (http://www.anonym.to/?http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S9HDRPDS)
PieterPost 7th August 2008, 01:20 Twiggerdingo Thanks for your answer.
If i try the program from the link, I keep getting the same error.
Twiggerdingo 7th August 2008, 01:37 That is 2 bad. But maybe i still can help (cant test though, here it works already :))
Here are some TT related DLL's u maybe can do something with. They were used to make TT6 working on my device too. I do not know which 1 can help u now or if it works at all. If u feel to try:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DJKLL6KA
Troodon 7th August 2008, 13:04 Works great on Navman S-Series (CE 5,0 64MB 400mhz).
But some 4,2 users will have to add some dll`s (most likely wininit.dll and note_prj.dll)
On some 4,2 devices it needs to be resatrtet after doing the map-patch. Oddly enough, that is not necessary on most 5,0 devices
Twiggerdingo 7th August 2008, 14:04 Thanks Troodon for this additional info, wininit.dll is also in the post i just made so ppl can try it for themselfes.
It would be good because i also know some1 with a older device which runs on 4.2 who is waiting for a solution on this.

Twiggerdingo 7th August 2008, 17:24 1st install or extract a 7.450.9028 cab in there is the data.chk. I meant no special 1 for the pna. Afterwards copy the exe from this post.

Got it to work on a Holux GPSmile 52+/53A with 720.1803 maps.
Is there any reason to try 715.1712 maps?
I have one damaged rar file: NA-2G_715-1712.part07.rar
Twiggerdingo 8th August 2008, 12:02 No, keep the v720 map its i bit more recent. 715 is older maprelease. (but can run though on your system with tt7).
PlsHlpMe 8th August 2008, 16:04 Hi,
sorry for the (stupid???) question, but only my mother could possibly be more a beginner than me...
I have a SY855 (navigation with turbodog) and downloaded your "full working version" to run the navigation with TT7.
I put the folder "TomTom7" on my SD card, switched on my Navgo, but the Navigation icon does not launch anything...
did I do smthg wrong, did I "just" forget some other major step ?
thank you for your help !!!!!!!!!!
;-)
Twiggerdingo 8th August 2008, 16:48 i guess so. You have to rename the tomtom7 folder to the folder which is required for your device, in my device, it is mobilenavigator. Then i have to rename tomtom navigator.exe to mobilenavigator.exe.
Resd this: http://www.navsoon.org/tomtom-nav-7-for-pna-with-wince-works-ok-now-on-sy885-t1311.html
PlsHlpMe 8th August 2008, 17:21 thank you Twiggerdingo, TomTom is launched directly.

darksied 8th August 2008, 20:18 There's been some discussion on this for a while now, and congratulations on those of you who got it to work, but I have one question for everyone:
Has anyone got this to work on a WinCE 4.2 system yet? Anyone? Just wondering. I also have a 4.2 (mio c310x) and was wondering if this would work on it.
PlsHlpMe 8th August 2008, 21:18 Twiggerdingo, everybody else,
I have downloaded one map but get the "no map found" error message.
here is what I have at the ROOT of my SD card :
\Mobilenavigator
\My Documents
\France_720_1802
in the \Mobilenavigator folder, I have all files/folders downloaded from Lamer314 (thanks a lot!!!) with TT7 for WinCE5 + note_prj.dll (created 23/7/6 8:19)
in the \My Documents folder, I have a \TomTom folder (empty) and a \Maps folder (I put here a copy of \France_720_1802... just to try)
does anyone have a clue so I can see the maps ?
thanks !
loechie 8th August 2008, 22:58 Hello,
I got TT7 working on my Navigon PNA 5110 with the miopocket software. Everything is working fine except for the GPS signal.
I put it on "other NMEA" Baudrate 57600. It picks up the sattelites but after 10-15 seconds the screen freezes. When I touch the screen and then go back to the navigation screen it works fine for another 10-15 seconds. I have tried to set it on "internal GPS" but then I get no fix. Everything works just fine with TT6. Anyone know how to solve this. Can I copy settings for GPS signal from TT6 to TT7 ?
Thanks.

So put note_prj.dll to the root of the SD-card, not in Folder. So TT7 will see maps in the ROOT of SD-card. You don't need My Documents folder on the SD-card any more
Twiggerdingo 9th August 2008, 00:34 Hello,...Thanks.
Baudrate is the same as on my device, and sice your GPS comes on, your port must be good as well i guess. Baudrate is hardware dependent though, but if it worked for tt6, it should do for tt7 as wel (looks to me).
What is left to try, is the winit.dll or another dll in the post i made. Maybe this is the difference, but you are 1 of the 1st to try out. So report plse if this works or not.
crazyfooker 9th August 2008, 03:19 Well guys and gals
all i can say is fantastic info on this subject
and if you read thru the posts you will learn what you need to do
i say thanks to admin and mods and users for the great input here
i just loaded up my navigo sy885 with tt7 with the 7.20 1803 map
and yes i got the no maps found at first
so i read a bit more , and hey presto i have 1 mean tomtom clone with the latest maps
and the gps receiver in the navigo eats the tomtom one especially in london
where tomtom loses its marbles my navigo is as stable as a rock only losing signal in tunnels
:ilove:

PlsHlpMe 9th August 2008, 21:34 thanks Rusigor,

- \mobilenavigator (folder renamed, initially TomTom7) with among other files/folders the file mobilenavigator.exe (renamed, initially tomtomnavigator.exe, the patched version I got from the "TT7 PNA" zip file from lamer314
- France_720_1802 (folder) containing :
. Meta (txt file)
. ver (gif file)
. France (folder containing 9 *.dat files + 1 *.pna file + 1 *.meta file)
- note_prj.dll (file)

loechie 10th August 2008, 12:21 I tried the winit.dll and the Noteprj.dll but still no decent GPS signal.
I get a good fix for about 15 seconds and then it stops until i touch the screen.
It"s driving me crazy. aaargh !!!
Anybody knows the solution?
Navigon 5110 wtih windows CE5.
Twiggerdingo 10th August 2008, 13:29 @plshlpme where is your france -?.dct file in your france map? (its not in your post, but is needed to use(see?) a map). You need to patch the maps 1st using the keygen.
Further, try a small map first, i agree with Rusigor on this. You can temporarily copy it over on your PNA and see if that works. dont forget to patch it first.
@loechie. That is not good to hear. Maybe a different dll? I do no know and cannot try out. The Navigon 5110 has a sirfset gps, did you try with tomtom cabled gpssetting, same port, and different baudrates?
I am puzzeled?!
pindur 10th August 2008, 14:13 @ all users Medion 4410 ( PNA 470T ) and Transonic 7000 TS
with GPS problems.
This is not a problem of settings ,(rigth is - other Nmea/4800/com 2)
Not all versions of CE5 are with TT from 6.020 to 7.xx compatible -result "GPS not found".
Only simple DLL`S change or addition don`t help .
1.For PNA 470T you can flash rom R23, after Medion works fine (tested).
2.For Transonic 7000 - at moment no solution (may be flash from Medion rom ,
is identical in construction witch PNA 460 from Medion)- not testet

finally, I have no *.dct file, only the 11 quoted ; could that only be the pb ?
any idea where to find a good-fully functioning map of France ?
I am at your orders, masters...... ;-))
thanks again, you're really great !
Twiggerdingo 10th August 2008, 14:27 hey pindur, thanks for the reply. Better this way than to hobby around.
Where can ppl can the r23 rom update? I cannot find a official link for this.
@plshlpme. This could be the case yes (do no know for sure, could be it would show up, but with missing activation). Better is to exclude that possibility by cracking the (small) map 1st.
Try to figure this out for yourselves (crack map) by reading this forum a little more. Dont want to spoonfeed you to much :D and we need to keep this thread on topic. Otherwise better send me a pm in this case, thats better for this thread.:backtotopic:

I tried several downloads of TT7. with R22 I deleted navigator.cfg and TT7's GPS is working the route I planned, when I plan a new route it is calculating and going to the mapscreen. No GPS when I turn TT off and on again it works the whole route again. Maybe I reflesh it when I know the reason why it is working then?
ccolijn 10th August 2008, 22:19 thanks Rusigor,
I did as you told in your kind reply to my post, but i still get the NO MAPS FOUND! error message
I now have at the root of my SD card :
- \mobilenavigator (folder renamed, initially TomTom7) with among other files/folders the file mobilenavigator.exe (renamed, initially tomtomnavigator.exe, the patched version I got from the "TT7 PNA" zip file from lamer314
- France_720_1802 (folder) containing :
. Meta (txt file)
. ver (gif file)
. France (folder containing 9 *.dat files + 1 *.pna file + 1 *.meta file)
- note_prj.dll (file)
thanks for the help, I want to come back home, cannot find my wayyyyy !!! :ashamed:
PS : I reseted also my GPS, no effects...
:sorry: my mistake
alexnr75 10th August 2008, 22:49 Pindur,
Thanks for your efforts. My Medion shows exact the same R23 0910 after resetting. TT7 starts with gps but loses signal. iGO8 and Gopal have reception even inside my home.
ccolijn 10th August 2008, 23:00 I tried the winit.dll and the Noteprj.dll but still no decent GPS signal.
I get a good fix for about 15 seconds and then it stops until i touch the screen.
It"s driving me crazy. aaargh !!!
Anybody knows the solution?
Navigon 5110 wtih windows CE5.
I have also a Medion P4410 and some related questions. Because of the GPSproblem I thought let me try a BTgps. So I put on the bluetooth om the Medion and it isn't possible to connect. But now is my blue light flashing on the Medion and I want it off, because I have on other BThandsfree set and I cannot connect with it now the Medion BT is on. How do I put off the BT and the the Blue light?:sorry:
alexnr75 10th August 2008, 23:05 ccolijn.
I would suggests to give it a reset. I have had that problem too :)

Dutchboy 11th August 2008, 11:04 Another interesting observation.....
I have a WinCWE 4.2 device. For the time being TT7 is not working (yet).
TT7 shows the message "Unable to start. Not enough memory is available."
I also have a WM6.1 PDA with a BT GPS. TT7 is running smoothly on this device.
I was 'upgrading' from 7.450 (9028) to version 7.450 (9030).
I was not sure if the same data.chk could be used so I renamed the data.chk
After I copied the new executable I started TT7, without renaming data.chk back or copying a new one.
When I fired up the new TT7 version, I received the same "Not enough memory" message on my PDA as I have on my WinCE 4.2 device.
Renaming data.chk back, everything worked fine again on the PDA.
I do not know what it means, and I am not into programming or (dis)assembling, but I thought it might be interesting for others.

jema_dc 11th August 2008, 20:51 I'm trying to use it on a Mio Digiwalker C320 with WinCE 5.0.
I have made a copy of the files from lamer314 (full working copy grabbed from his NavGo SY885, 3.5" 320x240, WinCE 5.0:), to the root of my device, keeping the same structure and folder names (MobileNavigator).
Have also put "note_prj.dll" in the root of the TomTom folder (MobileNavigator)... the problem is that I can't make the TomTom Home 2.3 to "see" my device, so I can't have the Device ID (like A1B2C3D4E5), and without this Device ID, I can't Patch the Brazilian Map that I already have.
Can someone give a clue on how to solve this? Has anyone with the same device (Mio C320), made it work?
Thanks in advance.

loechie 11th August 2008, 23:14 Hi everybody.
I tried to make TT7 keep the GPS signal stable but I have not found a working solution yet. For now I give up.
I'll use TT6 and my Navigon 5110 system for the moment. Not the newest maps but still works fine.
Thanx everybody and especially "twiggerdingo" for all your help.
rickgtx 12th August 2008, 00:45 I can't make the TomTom Home 2.3 to "see" my device,
I have the same problem. TomTom Home 1.5 sees it fine and downloads voices. But there is no MapShare. TomTom Home 2.3 never sees the attached device with ActiveSync or the SD Card if I just insert that. I selected TomTom 720 as my device for MapShare on TomTom.com. I enable the "Map corrections" on the GPS.
Any advice?
Ladgaz 12th August 2008, 01:31 As many of you know, running the TomTom7 from this threads
TOMTOM NAVIGATOR 7 ON A Pocket PC ? (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=219038)
TomTom Nav 7 for PocketPC (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=272506)
will cause "Not enough memory" error on PNA with Windows CE.
OK guys, finally the solution was released on Russian forum.
So, here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/134239542/TT7_PNA.ZIP.html
Replace your TomTom Navigator.exe discussed in above threads with the patched version and enjoy it.
All regards go to shoora from 4pda.ru forum.
Many users have reported it does not work on WinCE 4.2, but works OK on WinCE 5.0.
Here is full working copy grabbed from my NavGo SY885, 3.5" 320x240, WinCE 5.0:

TT7 Standalone + extra's (raster, helpme files (anwb, medical and nautical), beneluxmap and voices)
If TomTom does not see maps (stored in root or My Documents), then put note_prj.dll in TomTom folder, maybe it'll solve the problem. Thanks to Twiggerdingo. (Can be found at http://hpcmonex.net/izemize/noteprjs.zip).
As you can see on the screenshot, there is still 22Mb of free RAM available.
On the other screenshot the buildings' contours are visible, as they appear starting from version 7 of TomTom.

Hi,
is it possible to get this patched TomTom Navigator.exe for PNA with black skin too? The one from this thread has a blue skin.
I have attached a black skin TomTom Navigator.exe from PPC-Version.
Can anyone patch this file too?
Would be nice.

It did work to patch the map, I really found the ID of the device, but when I run the program, I still get the message:

Should I patch the Ttsystem file also? If so, how can I do it?

Yep...
And now I solved part of the problems...
I was doing a lot of mistakes.
1st I was putting the Map Folder inside the MobileNavigator Folder.
2nd I did the same mistake with the file "ttgo.bif" and "ttnavigator.bif".
And for last I was putting the wrong ID Code in the Patcher (i found the real one inside the MobileNavigator Folder - file "ttmobile.bif".
Now, the TomTom 7.450 (9028) + Brazil maps 720.1857 is working fine... (free RAM 29.8Mb) :ilove:
BUT (there is always a but :()... My GPS keeps saying: "No GPS Device".
I have already gone to GPS STATUS, clicked on Configure and have used all possibilities that are available:
Built-in GPS Receiver, TomTom Bluetooth GPS Receiver, TomTom Wired GPS Receiver, Other Bluetooth GPS Receiver, Other NMEA GPS Receiver...
None have worked... :(
What should I do now? Any clues?

Voyager2003 14th August 2008, 00:32 After some digging I solved the unstable GPS with my Medion (PNA460).
Correct port settings are: other NMEA, GPS_COM (com2) and 4800 baud.
This will let TT7 recognize the GPS but its still unstable.
To solve the unstable GPS, go to:
[Start] [settings] [Control Panel] [Power]
Select Schemes tab, turn ALL power settings to "Never"
Then try again.
I will try to make a launcher that will set the registry on the fly.
This should work at least on the Medion PNA 460/465/470 and possible some other models. Other brands: give it a try
Btw, my PNA460 is still using the older R14 Flashrom (I did not find any good reason to update to R15 yet;))

He was talking about a Mio c320, and if I'm not mistaken I believe that the c320 is WinCE 5.0; this whole thread is pretty much stating that this only works on a 5.0. I also have a c310x (4.2) and have been waiting until a patch turns up that will allow this to run on a WinCE 4.2.

jema_dc 25th August 2008, 23:19 I have another question, my TomTom is working fine in my Mio C320 but I have some doubts.
1st. I can't make TomTom Home find my device, so I can't use MapShare, which is really sad, since I know that there are a lot of corrections already made for my contry map. Any hints to help me connect it and finally receive the MapShare corrections?
2nd. I have a brand new TomTom XL with Navcore 8.01 and Maps Brasil 720 (last version).
I already made a lot of corrections in the map and shared them with MapShare.
Then I made a copy of the Brasil Map of this TomTom XL (full folder) and copied to the Brasil Map Folder of my Mio C320 with TomTom for PNAs WinCE 5.0. The thing is that the modifications made on the TomTom XL didn't appear in the Mio... anyone knows why? And what should I copy from the TomTom to make the modifications of MapShare work on Mio C320 Map.
PS: I hope you could understand my doubts, I know it's a little bit confusing, but I have faith that you guys can give me a clue on how to solve this issues.
Thanks in advance.

Dutchboy 27th August 2008, 15:44 With tt6, when i'm running with car, the map is not stable, it is flashing.
When i stop the car, everything looks right...
Can someone help me?
When driving in the car and TT6 is running, tap the screen and go to the next screen (Main Menu 2 of 3) and hit "Browse map".
Center yourself by tapping the compass icon topright.
Zoom out, and watch the GPS Cursor moving. If neccesary zoom out further.
Is the cursor moving in a cross like way ?
I saw this strange behaviour also on a CarTrek400.

Hi rusigor,
Thanks for the link, but I already have a working map for Brazil.
My problem is only on how to stablish a connection between my Mio C320 with TT7, and the PC with TomTom Home, because I want to use the MapShare tool.
I can't make the TomTom Home to "see" my Mio as a TomTom Device... any clues?

Excellent work Voyager. I have an single din GPS unit purchased from ebay and changing the power settings fixes the freeze issue. Only problem is when I type this into a Mort script it seems to change the settings but not "apply" them. I have to enter and exit the power control panel for the Mort script to take effect. Is there some type of WinCE "Apply" command that will make the power settings take effect?
Thanks in advance.

eurobunny 29th August 2008, 19:42 Well my 720 running navcore 8 and v805 maps broke last week and had to be returned to tomtom due to a hard drive failure and recieved back today with v7.481 loaded thank god for backups and now back to v8. But whilst this was away i had to revert back to my trusty pda running v6. I however decided to give this v7.450 had a memory error first but after putting in the 9030 file all works fine
Now running an Ipaq rx3715 windows mobile 2003 SE with v7.450(9030) and a v720 map of uk and ireland
If i could have had this last year i would have never got my 720

Troodon 31st August 2008, 13:57 Does anyone get this funnt error when using TomTom7: A console application appears with a message: "debug: offset key is ...". ??
If I exit this debug message, TomTom runs fine again. The message only seems to appear appears ONCE during use (comes back if TT is restartet, and perhaps also if a new destination takes place).
What can that be? I Have a Navman S 64MB WinCe 5,0.
Thank`s :)
deandavis1 1st September 2008, 13:25 I suspect there is some type of "apply" command to make the new Power State keys take effect. Maybe it has something to do with Gwes. I dont know how to fix it so I have gone back to TomTom version 6. It seems version 6 is not effected by power settings while version 7 is.
Hope someone can work out how to change the power state.

:thanks:
I found out that its because the changes are implementet at a very late state in the booting process. Therefore, it needs a softreset for the changes to take effect.
One way to do this is to implement a softreset via a mortscript. But one has to be carefull here, because we don`t want it to loop, right:hahaha2:
Therefore: Use a "timestamp" to avoid looping. Use your SD card to see if it works (if it loops, no harm done ;) )
TTFanatic 4th September 2008, 13:24 I have to enter and exit the power control panel for the Mort script to take effect. Is there some type of WinCE "Apply" command that will make the power settings take effect?
Well, instead of doing that manually, adding these three lines should automate it:
Run( "ctlpnl.exe", "cplmain.cpl,5,1" )
WaitFor( "Power Properties", 5 )
SendOK( "Power Properties" )
Let me know if it worked out for you.

ekm 5th September 2008, 11:17 Depends on the device....some units have free updates while others cost money (and some are only released as hacked upgrades) - while others get none (mostly due limited resources on the old machines).........no use in getting Windows vista for a 486 ;-) google your device and if updates are avalible there will probably be alot of info about it "out there".

TOMTOM NAVIGATOR 7 ON A Pocket PC ? (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=219038)
TomTom Nav 7 for PocketPC (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=272506)
will cause "Not enough memory" error on PNA with Windows CE.
OK guys, finally the solution was released on Russian forum.
So, here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/139685481/TT7_9028_PNA.rar
Replace your TomTom Navigator.exe discussed in above threads with the patched version and enjoy it.

As you can see on the screenshot, there is still 22Mb of free RAM available.

No solution if you want to update by mapshare straight to your PNA.
And 2 ways, if you want to update your maps:
1- use fake-ONE device to update via card reader or additional flash-card
2- use appropriate updates by others - as here - http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2243331&postcount=4
quiquesaiz 16th September 2008, 23:07 I have installed TT7 in a IPAQ 314 working under Windows CE 5.0. Everything seems fine. However, the screen hangs up after a couple of minutes of real travelling or even playing a demo of a route. It does not blank out, simply the image remains motionless. If I touch the screen, it continues working for a few more minutes until it hangs up again.
Any one has an idea of the reason for that behavior and any hint of how to solve it?
Thank you.

I found it in a post by Voyager2003 above:
To solve the unstable GPS, go to:
[Start] [settings] [Control Panel] [Power]
Select Schemes tab, turn ALL power settings to "Never"
Then try again.
The idea is to turn off all energy savings settings that may block the system.
You may have to do the same with display and backlight
[Start] [settings] [Control Panel] [Display]
[Start] [settings] [Control Panel] [Backlight]
My device looses this configuration when it is connected to the PC in order to write something in the resident flash and it is rebooted without the SD card. So, it would be a good idea to check the energy saving configuration from time to time (or when the GPS hangs up)

There are a few .dll files which are not needed, but "when it aint broken - don't fix it". So I just leave them there.
- Check if your map is registered with the correct .dct file.
- Check if "My Documents" in the registry is pointing to the right location.
This is not my job. I merely collected the various releases and combined them. poulopoulos gave me the set of files which made it working on the Windows CE 4.2 device.

lukeveess 25th September 2008, 21:34 dear Dutchboy, I've also a invion 3v1 unit and I used your files (rapidshare). tt7 starts and work for about one minute, then I have the memory error... what can I do, it seem to work well, but after one minute it crashes with this error...
Dutchboy 26th September 2008, 01:58 @lukeveess,
I had the same issue. I first used an SD Card with a mortscript startup routine.
It copied a few DLL files to the windows folder and imported some registry settings for other applications to run smoothly.
With this archive I use a seperated SD Card with only two extra files.
In the root of the SD Card I have the file CeDesktop.exe, which I renamed to shincotest.exe to get to the desktop and the releasegps.exe to properly use the GPS unit in Tomtom.
Ofcourse I have a map version 7.20 to use with tomtom.

I can not guarantee it works too with the C520 CE5.0
I've copied the files to an SD card and it works, that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. (the "bif" files, maps and keys must there be already)

The map which I have included is a very small (400KB) Guam map.
(obviously this Dutchboy doesn't live in Guam :-))
I have edited the guam.pna to 6.75 1409 so TTN7 can use it.
The map I use on a daily basis is version 720.1802.
I even selected a nice car for you, and included the HelpMe files.
When I switch maps I get the "Not enough memory is available" error.
But when I start TTN7 again the map is selected.
Give all credits to poulopoulos. He gave me the files to make this possible.

The startup script autohides the taskbar. Look inside Shincoupdate.mscr with notepad to see how it is done.
If you don't like the small grey bar at the bottom of the screen, you can run "Show Taskbar" before starting TTN7.
The invion devices are created by Shinco. If a ShincoUpdate.exe or ShincoTest.exe exists in the root of the SD Card it will be executed.
Using Mortscript and renaming the Mortscript launcher to ShincoUpdate.exe the device is "unlocked".
Run the ResInfo and look at the 5th page named System to find out more about the GPS device.

No, if you add your own unlock files it could work on other WinCE devices.

First make a backup of your SD Card, or use a spare.
Unpack the navigator folder and the guam folder and add it to the SD Card.
If you want you can rename the folder, e.g. Tomtom7.
Use your own unlock files and start a File Explorer.
Browse to \SD Card\navigator\tomtom navigator.exe and launch the app.

2. I have changed the "my documents" directory in the registry to "\Storage Card\My Documents", then put the France map in \Storage Card\My Documents\France" (version 720.1803). The Guam map is on the root (\Storage Card\Guam\).
3. I have launched the file "TomTom Navigator.exe" placed in "\Storage Card\navigator\" and, it worked !!!!
I made a reset of the configuration to have the "wizard" of the first launch to change language, kilometers... and the GPS NMEA port, speed... I had a crash with this part but I can launch it perfectly now.
I have to test on the road now but it sounds good.

About Tomtom 7.
When I start my invion and use ResInfo, I see that I have 41.2 MB Program memory free and 10,9 MB Storage memory free.
Start TT7 and hit the GPS status bar.
Hit version number.
On the 3rd line I see "Free RAM: 31.8 MB", what do you see ?
(ResInfo reports 31.8 MB free also)
Then prepare a route (Main menu 2 of 3).
View Route (Main Menu 3 of 3)
Show route demo, and set the demo speed to 100%.
Does the demo run longer than one minute ?
While the demo is running check the free RAM ammount again.
Mine has dropped to 30.2 MB
This means that TT7 needs 11MB of memory (on my device) to run.
Do you have many POI active ?
girardil 1st October 2008, 16:15 OK, I'll test that as soon as possible.

Only one question to girardil:
[...]
I test with 20 MB free on my sd card, still working.
What does this mean?
girardil 3rd October 2008, 09:42 When I had a working Tomtom 7 (before my PNA refused to power on so I had to make a hard reset, even the reset button didn't work). I left onlu 4 MB on my SD card and it worked. I tried to free a little bit more of memory, 20 MB, and TT 7 was working fine too.
But after the hard reset, TT 7 crashed, I don't know why.
Demonfatal, how do you "export" a planned route made with tomtom 6 ?
Thanks.
demonfatal 3rd October 2008, 14:36 Demonfatal, how do you "export" a planned route made with tomtom 6 ?
Thanks.
On my wince 4.2 device I have tomtom 6 & 7 installed.
I create a planned route with tomtom 6 and I exit.
Next I load tomtom 7 (on the same sdcard) and it keep the planned route of tomtom 6 and works fine... everytime...:egdance:
girardil 3rd October 2008, 14:43 Ok I found : it's stored in mapsettings.cfg in the directory of the map.
The problem is that TT 6 can't see maps V7xx so you can't prepare a route of a V7xx map:afraid:. And you can't copy a v6 map version of mapsettings.cfg to v7 map because they are differents, even with a route planned with TT 7 .
So i used the navigator.cfg provided by Dutchboy as the GPS setup in this file have wrong speed and com port, so when I select a V7 map, Tomtom 7 don't crash. Then I plan a route, exit of TT7, copy the mapsettings.cfg stored in my v7xx map to a safe place on my SD card.
Then I return in TT 7, make a reset to factory settings (this delete mapsettings.cfg and other files), I choose my settings (language, voice, map, speed and com port of my GPS...) and it crashed after the map v7xx selection.
Then I copy my safe mapsettings.cfg to the map v7 directory, I launch again TT 7, it asks me again some settings and, no more crash because there is already a planned route !!!!
Yes, it works .
Thanks to Demonfatal :urtheman: who discover the reason of the crash, he is right. TT 7 never crash as long as I have a planned route when I launch it. It crashed if I delete the planned route, exit of TT7 then launch it again. That's why I keep a precious copy of my mapsettings.cfg with a planned route and a copy of navigator.cfg provided by Dutchboy.
With this tips, I don't need the tip of only 3 or 4 MB free space on my SD card, I have400 MB free and TT7 works. The only thing, always have a planned route at the start of TT7.
I know it's a little bit complicated and I hope I am clear (I am just a french guy trying to write english, not easy). Hope it can help.
Thanks again everyone :ilove:.
elinx 3rd October 2008, 23:00 Ok I found : it's stored in mapsettings.cfg in the directory of the map.
Confirmed.
I had the same problem with in the beginning a stable system.
But for some reason I had the "memory error" I never had before with this fileset.
I remember I did also a factoryreset, but didn't realize the impact of it.
I have a HP Ipaq with TomTom7 with the same maps and copied the mapsettings.cfg from there to my system and I am back on the road.
:excited: Thanks
But the main question is: Why is TT7 on a PNA dependent of a planned route and not on a PDA. I never had a "memory error" on that system.
girardil 3rd October 2008, 23:16 That is the question my friend, that is the question !
I have no idea why, if someone has the answer, thanks.
demonfatal 3rd October 2008, 23:28 Yes ! That is the question !

suptob 4th October 2008, 13:39 Well, after trying various versions I've managed to get TT7 on my WinCe 4.2 and the problem is that it will not connect to the internal GPS. I've tried all the settings but none work. The unit is a 7" generic Chinese, known as Mesada_2440. Anyone else found a solution/workaround?
Oh, and the clock display at the bottom right keeps displaying random times, really weird.
lukeveess 4th October 2008, 14:25 try other gps nemea 38400
@demonfatal where do I put the splashscreen image???
sbertaud 4th October 2008, 15:11 it's an executable...
suptob 4th October 2008, 16:19 try other gps nemea 38400
Got it to recognise internal GPS, connects quickly but it's all unstable, the screen keeps changing colours and moves about....guess I'll have to keep trying.

jirkab 5th October 2008, 03:18 Working version TT7 on AudioMedia NAV 108E: http://rapidshare.de/files/40613196/E.rar.html
GPS settings: COM1, 9600kbps!
Do not use function: Clear route!!
Very good job guys :thanks: .
One question: how hide empty battery indicator on navigation screen?
algernon 5th October 2008, 14:42 Ok I found : it's stored in mapsettings.cfg in the directory of the map.

For all > If tomtom 7 don't see maps just add this file in tomtom directory :
http://rapidshare.com/files/151098561/NOTE_PRJ.dll
First :
You must create a planned route in tomtom 7 with this release of poulopoulos with last maps v7.XXX and exit :
http://rapidshare.com/files/148245913/navigator.rar
Next :
Install my release and load tomtom 7, all works fine....
http://rapidshare.com/files/150310249/TCE42.rar
Use this keygen for maps 7.XXX :
http://rapidshare.com/files/150311971/TKG.rar
Pass for all : demonfatal
But always keep a planned route in tomtom 7 for the next loading...;)
I have create two "Tomtom navigator.exe" with new splash screen :

mastermoon 6th October 2008, 22:17 hello folks..
i would to say the mine..
i installed TT7.451 (9033) in my skyway 3560 ultra (it's a WinCE 5.0 PNA)
using a lot of info find over the net.
i installed it in this way :
Copied the PNA version supplied by Pintur in the root of my SD card
Created a folder with the same name of original software used by navi
stored in a mortscript that fix the gps stop (from italian ipmart forum)
copied 7.25 1871 italy map, Zelig Cabaret Voices..
the results is this:
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/mastermoon/Snapshot_20081006.jpg
Only 2 problems:
1. the buildings' contours disappears but i think something is missing in the program (like raster or other)
2. when i go out of tomtom the navi won't power off and i have to soft reset him... this is surely because the gps fix will delete some registry keys but don't restore at tomtom exit.. if someone is more experienced with mortscript please help me to solve that..
sorry for my ugly english but i'm Italian

Perhaps your region settings may be not correct. And when TT finds satellites - it corrects your time to "right" one

Seems to actually work on Mio C310x. Unreal. I have been waiting a year for this. I am going to try to make this work on WorldNav 3100 today or tomorrow.
By the way TomTom Corp, if you are reading this, I bought actual widescreen model you made for my car because it is what I am used to. If you continue to screw over PDA owners, I am going to stop buying your products, stop recommending your products to my family and friends, and start switching over to GARMIN because they do not forget who made them what they are.

aston4 10th October 2008, 23:40 I am working on WorldNav3100 right now. Question about the Mio C310x solution:
Is there any way to make TT7 not display those four or five poi's every time I exit and restart the program? I like to have all my POIs turned off all the time to speed up refresh rate, and I don't care where a "railway station" might be, since Amtrak sucks donkey testicles. I see it probably has something with the MapSettings.cfg file being recopied every time by the tom.c31 script.
