Powerful music tool for the mobile
* The Strands Social Player is a music player that lets you discover new music, connect with people, and share your tastes with friends. In this latest version, it now also supports scrobbling to Last.fm!
* It automatically shows cover art, provides artist and song recommendations from over 6 million songs featuring free previews, and fully integrates with a social network of music enthusiasts.
* The innovative "Who's Listening" feature lets you discover like-minded people who like listening to the same songs you are playing. You can send messages, discuss up and coming artists, see the listening histories of other users, and keep an ear on what's hot.
* The Strands Social Player is a J2ME application, optimized for Nokia S40 phones.
Installation
Strands Social Player for Java devices application consists of two files: SocialPlayer.jad and SocialPlayer.jar
SocialPlayer.jad contains information about the Midlet itself (SocialPlayer.jar). Transfer both files to your mobile through bluetooth, Irda, or cable, and execute jad file.
Please take the following steps in order to remove the user prompts originating from your phone's runtime environment when using SocialPlayer in Series 40 devices:
* 1) Go to 'Menu'
* 2) Go to 'Apps'
* 3) Select 'SocialPlayer' from the list, and open the 'Options' menu
* 4) Select 'Application access'
* 5) Select 'Data access'
* 6) Select 'Read user data' and set to 'Always allowed'
* 7) Select 'Add and edit data' and set to 'Always allowed'
* 8) Go back to 5) screen, and select 'Network Access', and set to 'Always allowed'
These steps will allow SocialPlayer to perform the operations required to function and should make for a smooth user experience.
