Problem ::

My system freezes to often both in normal mode and in safe mode..When i restart my

system,,the processor value in the bios settings and also in system properties changes to

someother values..I've attached the picture of my system properties..Look at the processor

value.,it is supposed to be 2.4Ghz,,but it shows 2.93Ghz ,at time it even goes worse showing

8.40GHz followed by 1.87GHz.,

Just remove the battery then put it back. It will reset the CMOS to factory settings.

if proc speed change suddenly, this problem should be come from bios. or does u install any windows bios tweaking software.

if factory default reset can't help u. try update ur bios to latest version.

Yeah it changes

Have you tried to reformat and reinstall OS?

If yes, the BIOS surely the problem.

Thank you MyK & leianleian

Reformatted and reinstalled the os.,,swapped the ram with another working ram,,problem still exists.,

I'm totally exhausted with my computer..I'm not in a situation to upgrade or buy new components..Pretty worried...

Also please clear these doubts..

During installation,,when registering components is happening a "command prompt" flashes and goes (just ones)...is it normally happens during installation ?...
because i never noticed this before..

one more doubt is my system shows only 74gb out of 80gb harddisk..it is normal that it'll be 2 or 3gb shorter than total capacity,,but in my case it is around 6gb..i even checked it with partition magic software..

Processor might be the problem also.

Enter CMOS setup then choose "Load System Default"

Try to borrow power supply then test it. If still the same & since you have nothing to do with it, try to pull out the BIOS chip (if can be remove) on your motherboard using a small screw driver then put it back. Be carefull not to break it. Or bring it to PC shop so that they can check it thoroughly :exactly:

Post your result. Good luck

Re your query on flashes something during install, I guess its just normal because if its an error, it will retain on your screen & installation will stop.

Are you sure you partition your Hdd properly?

I partitioned my harddisk using partition magic when I had 40gb hdd..sure i did correctly..all drives are 25 gb..

i'll try to check the bios again..

thank you friend..
