Hi all,

1st time post... my PC does not boot up. It powers up but nothing happens on the monitor and there is no post noise. has any1 else experienced the same or similar problem? and does anyone know how to rectify the problem please???

All advice is gratefully received.

i assume you run XP
if so , its normal
to rebuild all you need is XP disk
if the pc youre typing on now is a xp pc
go to -help- and search for BOOT CFG
it explains it all
no special skills needed

all you need is one xp disk and
one finger to type one line

with vista this go,s automatic [but you still need vista disk]

Upon turning your PC power on, you didnt see anything display? Are all of the LED and fan of CPU is working?

Did you hear any beep sound?

Hi Myk,

CPU fan working but no post (beep) on power up though. absolutely no display on monitor. Can u please clarify which LED lights I need to be looking at?? and do u have any suggestions on how to fix please??

try to remove ur RAM and video and clean gently ... maybe loose.

Clean metal contacts of RAM and VGA card using rubber eraser then plug it firmly to your board.

also check if monitor cables are firmly connected

Thanks for all replies but really looks like i've fried the motherboard

it is possible

mother boards are not that expansive
problem is to find the same, especialy if you have an oem pc
buy a new mobo with mathing cpu
reinstall windows
done

So you are buying a new board? Whats the status of your pc now?

If you really decided to buy, bring your cpu to pc shop for checking. It may still working or some other part may have problem especialy RAM.

and how you suggest to check the power supply?
measure a couple of hunderd wires with volt-meter?

than i prefere myk!'s suggestion to have it checked by a dealer:exactly:
