Handy Shell is a powerful replacement of standard Active Standby. It allows you to carry out most common everyday operations quick and handy.

Today view allows you to get information about your phone settings, ongoing calendar events, incoming calls, sms, e-mails, weather forecast, and provides with application shortcuts with the help of different Plugins. There are 6 types of Plugins:

- Clock Plugin
- App Shortcucts Plugin
- Phone Indicators & Settings
- Calendar Plugin
- Weather Plugin (requires Handy Weather v.6 or higher to be installed).

All Plugins can be moved (along the screen), customized, activated/deactivated trough Settings view (Options > Settings > Plugins).

Start typing to invoke Dial or Start view. This view searches through available applications to start or contacts to dial. If no applications or contacts meet search criteria, it simultaneously suggests you to dial corresponding number.

Applications

Applications view allows you to launch quickly 12 (3*4) favorite applications. You can replace, move and delete corresponding Shortcuts trough Option > Shortcuts submenu.


Contacts

Contacts view allows you to work with (call, send SMS) 12 (3*4) favorite contacts. You can replace, move and delete corresponding Shortcuts trough Option > Shortcuts submenu.


Note:

If no Plugins are available after installation, please reboot your phone.

Weather Plugin can be installed only with Handy Weather v.6 or higher, which is not ready for BETA now. You’ll be able to use weather plugin after Handy Shell and Handy Weather v.6 are released.

This version just like the other TWO (Takash. and opda), DON'T work in my Hckd. 6120C phone, maybe the 6120C is not in the compatible list, it's a shame. And I've tried in memory phone and memory card too...

I've looked on the official site and the program isn't there so maybe its an early release version so wait til it's out on say Handango and check what phones it can be used one ;)

tried on an n73 of a friend ( does not work on 6120 ).
it joins the benefits of t9nav ( or skyequiKey ) with all the rest, it is fantastic !

App has taskmanLite embedded so first get rid of the original handytaskman

Yes my phone (hckd 6120c) ALWAYS hangs up when starting the app, the first time I thought it was a related theme problem, after restarting and trying "the posible" combinations, even turning off the starting processes, I realized the problem.

YOUR IMAGE describes the problem in the PERFECT way, bcoz in this phone you think that after a "while" the problem will take some seconds and finally vanish, but you can stay and never starts :(. There must be a related problem wiz that!

BTW, the Audio File is the beginning of a 80's theme from "Imagination" and the song is called "Just An Illusion".

What is that?...Handy Calendar is the no.1 application for me...more important than this.

Handy Calendar and Handy Shell works fine in my N73. Try to reinstall both apps (uninstall and install again).
Whatever, it's works in N73,so don't loose you hope to use it ;)

Go to Options -> Settings -> Plugins -> App Shortcuts -> Options -> Customize
Then you can change the shortcuts to any app installed on the phone! Hope this helps!

Why isn't it ever listed in the title of the thread(s), that the app(s) will ONLY work on HACKED phones if that is actually the case? This would be very simple, helpful, and practical for all of us,just an idea thanks.

becoz for those who browse thru this section often enough (as i imagine you have since you are an old member), unsigned means you have to sign it yourself. and since symbian signed have stopped giving out certs, then hacking is the most logical, practical and convenient way to install S60v3 apps. so from now on, if you see the word unsigned know that it means, according to your own words, that the app(s) will ONLY work on HACKED phones. putting that phrase on each and every thread title would be very inconvenient and unnecessary when the word unsigned will suffice. i hope that's clear enough. cheers! :)

By the way, not everyone has the opportunity to hack their phones(for ex. N82s with fw V30.). Luckily, it's not a problem for me, but my question was more for the other members that are not in such a good position. My suggestion was meant to provide better communication and/or understanding, which is good for all members and the forum. But, perhaps this is of no importance too? So, it seems.
