this all depands on what you can afford

in gaming it usely the better the marrier
allways buy MoBo first
read manual so you know what CPU and MEMory will fit
most gamers also prefere SLI

best advice i can give is
orientate yerself with online shops [whithout buying] so that you get an overview of whats available
and what it costs

i did also bought a [big] new case [ coolermaster stacker ]

succes

cpu = amd 64 x2 dual 4600+ [ overclocked from 2400 to 2600 ]
2 x nvidia 8600 gt silent

and im not even a gamer

search internet and than make up yer mind

dont know where you live but i use this shop for orientating [dutch ]

if you make up your mind you can ask
but there is no such thing as the best
what is new today is old tomorrow

i prefere amd , but who am i

i dont think you have to be familar w new things
if you look in your pc you see the same
a MoBO that is mounted w 9 screws
under the big fan is CPU
beside it is memory and below is graphic
both are clicked in place as well as all wires
all of fit only one way

why dont you as for starting just upgrade your current pc ;
buy bigger memory and a good fast gamers card like geforse gtx
you ll learn from it and your pc should allready be faster

Just go to a computer shop ask for computer package. Post here the computer specifications then we will suggest the modifications needed.

You just need to consider the RAM and video card because that really matters on gaming.

And . . . . I really love AMD processor

if u r going for a gaming pc u need to go with an nvidia motherboard. and if ur budget is quite good u culd opt for 2 graphic cards as well
1. nforce 790i Ultra SLI motherboard (can support 3 graphic cards)
2. Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz or 2.66Ghz or higher (depending upon ur budget)
3. GeForce 9800 GTX+ graphic card (u can go for 2 or 3 cards also)
4. 2gb 2000MHz DDR3 SLI Ready Ram
5. 600W or 700W SLI Ready Power Supply
6. Hard disk and Dvd or blue ray drive completely depends on u
7. SLI Ready ATX Cabinet.
make sure u go with SLI ready stuff. tht would hlp u in superb performance
All this would cost u around 1300-1350$ or less
