Hi People

My Boss has a 8gb pen drive which had 2 partitions..6gb for his personal files n the remaining 2gb for public..Actually he had locked the 6gb partition with some password..Unfortunately he Formated the 2gb partition.
Now that 6bg is being detected as CDROM drive (wierd...) n the 2gb is normal..
I really donno how to recover..I tried Googling but in vain.
He dosent want any data..I just want to recover that 6gb partition.
Plz help me.

something like get back data will do the job or most data recovery software, providing it has not been over written, unsure what it will make of password tbh but worth a shot

I did mate, for data recovery I always use "GetBackData" usually sorts me out

Thanks for ur reply.I have attached a screenshot of the Disk Magement for ur kind reference.8gb pendrive,it had 2 partitions.my boss had kept 6 gb for his private files (password Protected) n the remaining 2gb for public.He formated the 6gb partition n now one partition is being seen as a cdrom n the other 2 gb is fine n i can access it.

Before u got this error things..

6 GB use to detect with different drive letter ??? or not...

if so can u please tell me wat was the drive letter...
for both 6 and 2 GB partition...

Have you tried to use Partition Magic or Paragon Partition to recover the 6GB?

Just a suggestion. I have no idea if that application can restore Flash Drives. And Im not in to partitioning Flash Drives.

Also, have you tried using the installation CD of the Flash Drive? Because your boss partitioned it using the software from that CD. Hopefully it is included.

Ya i have used partition managers but no use

Definitely this will work.

Unplug all HDD on motherboard. Turn on pc, enter bios then enable usb devices, save then off pc. Plug flash drve, turn on pc then boot pc using your windows installation disk. When it detect your usb, you can now delete/merge it then create new partition.

After creating partition, plug hdd then boot windows. Now plug usb then format it.

If still the same, repeat the above procedure but using Hirenboot Cd or MiniPE then use partition applications from there.
