Try restoring a full back up for your 720 in a SD card. Do a reset and try to turn it on while the 720 is on the dock.

Just try to discover some differences and didn't find any major things. Only one 'strange' thing. When I hooked up my HD Traffic Receiver, and started to download QuickFix via HD Traffic, it first downloaded something else. This maybe sounds weird, but first I saw the message "Tomtom is downloading... please wait..." and when it passed the 100% the 'normal' message of "Downloading QuickFix... please wait..." appeared.

But well, nothing else happened after that. So you get rep. points if you can discover any differences :-)

Works great om my tomtom v4. 'Operate my Go' doesn't work yet, probably something tomtom's working on. Can update map sharing, etc. everything seems to work.

Wireless data connection no longer works with HTC Touch on this release on 1XL, even after entering all script settings again.

No worries, will go back to 8.011.

Unfortuatly, that didn't seem to work. It's weird cause updating
the core's never caused me a problem before.
I'm thinking either the **system file got "boinked" or backlight issue
possibly.

**system file got "boinked" = betcha that's it. I'd think the boot process is just about fully dependent on that file.

Either way no real big deal. The unit [internal memory] don't contain nuttin illegal and unit is still under warranty.

Got me TTOne and my old PPC as backups.

I've updated to this NavCore (8.051.9404) and my 720 is working fine. What isn't working is the emulator mode in the TomTom Home software. I'm also using the 810.1907 NorthAmerica Maps.

Steps: (downloaded the files from post 1)
1. Copied the basicpack files to my tomtom.
2. Copied the ttsystem file to my tomtom.
?3. Not sure where to put the Home Navcore file

For step 3, I've tried removing all the previous extensions so new one would be created, didn't work.
Tried copying an existing folder and renaming it to this version, put in the updated files, didn't work.

Same problem with my TT1 v1 and versions 8.010/8.011. I was tempted to give a try to this version to see if this problem was fixed, but from what you say it seems still there.

well, installed last nite on my go920 ( waitin 4 bugless navcore 8.20 :) ) and im nice suprised: 8.051 workin really fast, gps reception is much better than on 8.011, EPT workin fine ...BT and wireless data too ....

So has anyone gotten 'Operate My ONE' working? I edited the ttgo.bak file as:

Ok I got it working now.

I put the values 7.163 the latest official version for the ONE, and now placed the navcore dll in the 7.163 folder renamed it to 7.163 and now its working.

I like this version better than the 8.2 because TTS works. Too bad though the ALG isn't resized then I would ber really happy haha

I also have a similar problem. I enter the details ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8051

into ttgo.bif with the correct version number for my 910 into ttgo.bak, but on reboot my ttgo.bif details have changed back to 7.163. I have even tried changing the properties of ttgo.bif to 'read only' but this made no difference.
When connecting to TT Home/operate my go the message I get is:
'The TomTom server did not understand your request. Maybe your HOME version is outdates. Please try to update via menue item'
Has anyone any ideas how to fix this? Any help appreciated.

Looks exactly like Navcore 8.010. All functions work the same.

So far I did not observe huge differences. May be a somewhat faster satellite login and a little bit faster data processing???

You have to change the name of your new tthome.dll to that of your latest original dll!!
E.g. If you worked and registered Navcore 8.010, you have to copy the new tthome.dll (8.051) to your TTHome extensions folder and rename it the same as your original one.
But before you do this, it is necessary to get the original version of the tthome.dll by creating a ttgo.bak where you changed the 8.051 figures to the original figures, e.g. 8010 and 9369 for Navcore 8.010

At least it worked for my Go930T.

I suppose that my problem is started upgrading to bootloader 5.5105 inside 8.2 version.

I seem to get evrything I need working including Mapshare updates, just don't get any GPS Quickfix updates - is this normal or should I try a different Navcore?

GPS Quickfix is now back online, mine updated last night using TomTom Home 2.4, navcore 8.051 and latest V8 maps

All news versions works very well.

Hi guys I downloaded the 8.051.9404, i put it on my 720 and it works. along with 8.01 maps. I tried messing with TThome but it won't work. DO i need to go to C:\Documents and Settings\****\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\*****.default\extensions \Navcore.8.010.9369@tomtom.com and replace 8-010-9369-1.dll with 8-051-9404-1.dll?
or should i replace but rename it to 8-010-9369-1.dll. And should I leave the other files in that folder or delete them? I'm running home 2.3, should i update to the newest one? 2.4~ In my 720 i made a ttgo.bak and copied the few lines and changed the values to 8010 and 9369, but i didn't change the values in the .bif.

I've found some bugs using this fw, so I decided to go back to the stable 8.011.
I've a 910 with the 5022 bootloader.
These are the bugs that often, but randomly, appears on the device:

1) GPS does not find the position for hours.
2) Computer Voices seems to come from the hell (slow or fuzzy).
3) Random locks (need hw reset)
4) Sometimes, after the reset, the device lost the Hard Disk (Red X while booting).
5) Bluetooth sometimes does not connect to the phone.

Hope that these infos will be useful for TTUser. I've tried both ttsystem (the x10 and the "common" one).

I was able to replicate the evil voices. When I unplug the unit, it starts up again. This is when I get the evil voices.

Weird. Normally it starts up when you originally plug it in.

No, I've simply upgraded form the 8.011, but I'm quite expert to delete any previous setting, also the flash folder, the outsourced.bin and the root.
Yes, I've used the clear_flash tool lot of time w/out success.

I think (is only my opinion without any proof) that the problems are related to the bluetooth connection with my phone. The TT often hangs, evil voice reappear after the hard reset, GPS does not find the position. When these issues appears the bluetooth continously connects and disconnects from the phone. When the TT starts correctly also the bluetooth connection is stable.
Perhaps I'm right, perhaps not!

My experience with 910 shows that we have to many files and folders on our devices. :)

Even being an expert it is very complicated to follow all files which should be changed when new Navcore installed. Therefore I personally always start from absolutely clean TT 910 . Copy basic park, ttsystem – check how it works. Then copy a map - check how it works. Then ASR folder, voices …- check, etc. Then go to my backup and copy from there files and folders which I need.
Takes more time, but I always could see where is a problem and could correct it.
I have only one exception – migrate from 8. 010 to 8. 011. In this case I changed only ttsystem.

well, on my go920 first installed 'official' navcore v8.51 then replaced 'official' ttsystem by 'unofficial' by TTUser with Outsourced,bin folder ...and everythin workin VERY WELL :D

...then replaced 'official' ttsystem by 'unofficial' by TTUser with Outsourced.bin folder...Hi Stuffet7! I suggest to remove the Outourced.bin folder in all GO x10/x20/x30/x40... The your Go, in fact, have 64 MB RAM and Outousurced.bin is not useful (Outsourced.bin is only for TomTom with low quantity of RAM).

If you doesn't removes Outsourced.bin, the battery quickly discharge in Sleep mode. switchPoweroff")]. This is my consolidate experience with Go x10/x20 in 730 emu... ;-).

TTUser, even, unfortunately:oops2:don't emphasizes this important solution in each first Post with instructions for the SE_ttsystem use...

...didn't know this but haven't problems with battery :)

Got this 8.051 working on my TT Classic Original! TTS, Lane Guidance, mp3, photos, text and switchfiles all working. Brilliant.
Takes a long time to reboot between modes but so what, it's worth it (70secs).

Just downgrade from 8.201 to 8.051 for my go710 because the battery problem.But there are some small problem.

1. I have ASR folder and support_asr.dat and cspeechfile in map folder but no ASR icon show up.Same thing happen when I using 8.201 w/ x30 emu(If I switch to x40 emu,ASR icon show up and work).

2. For tthome 2.4,when I use operate Go.TThome say I have wrong version,and not download dll.If I using ttgo.bak,tthome will download dll but the old one 7.6xx.But when I using 8.201 even w/o ttgo.bak,tthome will download 8.xx dll.

3. Under copyright\status link,it say "flash not mounted".Is this normal?

I had this exact same problem and fixed it by using the Clear Flash utility by TTUser (who is amazing!)

Anyway, try clear flash and you should be able to get GPRS working again. :D

I have attached it to this message so you can find it easily. You just copy these files into root of SD card and reboot TomTom.

ADDITION: And try copy the three 'connect2internet' files into the root too.

I have upgraded to the 8.051 navcore from 8.010, since doing this I have noticed that I dont get any quickgpsfix downloads, there is no original 8.051 navcore file to patch with flash's in the tomtom.com folder?

have you also copied the outsourced.bin-files?

yep, just going to do a fresh install

...outsourced.bin has nothing to do with TTHome ...those information are in ttgo.bif and ttgo.bak ...so just open your ttgo.bif in notepad and edit those:

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8051 ----> change to 8010
ApplicationVersion=9404 ----> change to 9369

and save as ttgo.bak

thats all :)

Have you seen this post? I strongly recomended it as some way of getting Quickgpsfix without having to stand the drag of TTHOME.

The latest version of this SE firmware (10.10)definitely has BT phone issues. Reverted back to the original version of 8.051.9404 :confused:

..hmm, on my go920 BT workin well

Locks up every other call with SE K770i on 520
Only locks up once a week with the original version. Strange

i'm using go920 with SE k800i and never had any problems eighter on navcore 8.201

I installed Navcore 8.051 on my GO 510. Now I have two questions:

Current configuration shows the following:

Flash not mounted
CurrentEmulation: x30
BT:1
TTS:on

Is it all right?

Second question: Can anyone tell me how to get TTS working?

ASR folder
and standard computer voices ( to download thru TTHome )

... use TTHome to download and install : run TTHome, click on 'Add maps, Traffic, Voices etc' and find 'Computer voices' and click on it. Next pick one computer voice ( depending on your language ) .

TTS and ASR are different systems and use different files.

ASR folder is not required for the TTS function, it's required just for the automatic speech recognition within the cspeech.dat files.

Sorry if this has been answered before but I have searched and couldn't find an answer (searched on all variations on battery drain, usage, standby etc...)

I recently 'upgraded' a TomTom One 3rd Edition (internal 512MB Flash and no SD slot) to Navcore 8.051 (9404) and also installed the UK & Ireland 8.10 (1870) maps and it all worked a treat - thanks for every one who has made this possible :) Anyway the owner of the TomTom said the battery seems to drain when it is switched off and since they don't use it all the time they haven't been able to switch it on sometimes until they connect it to a charger (obviously after which it begins to charge up).
I am sure I had read previously that the GPS is put into a low power (standby?) mode when you switch off so there will be some power drain, however I can't find any information on this through searching.
What I want to know is will this eventually cause any damage or will it be OK? If it may cause damage is there anything I can do to prevent it?

EDIT: Just read the thread titled 'install "poweroff" '..... :oops2: So I know now how to make it power down fully. However is it possible to cause any damage if the battery looses enough power so the TomTom won't power on until a charger is attached?

you need 815.2003 map and anoher navcore .... 8.203 - 8.204 - 8.300

With your navcore 8.051.9404 you allready have ALG with 810 maps :dance2:

All the 815 maps I have tested either aren't recognized or don't have IQ or LG

I have 805.1801 and that works fine with this navcore.

Also have 815.2024, it works fine but no IQ or LG.

Just downloaded 815.2003, created a dct, but 520 won't see the map.. Any Ideas ?

Maps 815.2003 works only under new Navcores (8.2 and 8.3)

I work with 8.051 with WCE 8.10 full version and it works perfect on my TT 720. :dance2:

For my TT 720 NC 8300 is official, so I have switched on to it. And use WCE 8.15 full.

I've just been comparing 815 Maps to 810 and 810 Maps have buildings on them - 815 doesn't or has much less

Being able to see the Buildings are useful when walking with your TomTom

I installed 8.051 with an old map and also with north america 8.15 in storage. it didnt see 8.15 but saw the old one...
Tomtom home could not operate my go 910 after installation on nc 8.051
