View Full Version : SE Navcore 8.051.9404
TTuser 11th September 2008, 19:01 Known Errors: old Remote still dead (this mean the "NOT BT" Remote)
Original for Device: x20,x30
x10 mean 510, 710, 910
You need to download: Basicpack+ SE_ttsystem.8.051.9404.rar for all Devices except gox10
SE_ttsystem.8.051.9404.go510-710-910.rar for gox10
ASR Folder for Voice Input is same how from 8.010
all Features, Function, use as already known from 8.010-11
all need to use ttgo.bak to say Home the correct Versionnumber, rename then the new dll to same Name which you need for your official latest Version
Ask not what is different, would 8010 perfect works would they stop Development and you would still in 10 Years use same 8.010:confused:
Should someone mirror it to RS then change the rar a little that it have a other crc.
ChangeLog:
16.01. 8051 rev1.3: possible easier to use switchfiles
10.10. ttsystem "for all except x10" new, "bton" to change Menu should now really works for all
27.09. 1 ttsystem for all Devices, now x10 Flash ok, Sound ok, need not more one extra; "bton" to change Menu should now really works for all
Now only as .dlc ,you can use

Go outside and breathe some fresh air already.

I'm quite sure that if we know the exact version of navcore 8.2xx.xxx then we could also download this one here. Does anybody know a method to search for files in this download directory>

I get LED power light when plugged into USB......but nothing else.
Have tried mutible re-sets.....nothing
byrana 11th September 2008, 21:15 Does anybody know how to get home working? I can't access the wok with tom tom button and I am not able to figure out how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated...the TomTom is working fine.
Also i cannot find the ttgo.bak...is the file on the tomtom?
Edit:
Never mind I figured it out and used my old ttgo.bif from the backup I took before updating...everything works greats. Thanks alot for the great work.

Try restoring a full back up for your 720 in a SD card. Do a reset and try to turn it on while the 720 is on the dock.
alUNo 11th September 2008, 21:44 many thanks for your job, TTuser !!!
great
lessram 11th September 2008, 21:59 And again; THANK YOU !!
Working as I hoped it would on my One V2 (with SD)
JoostBoZ 11th September 2008, 22:26 It also works for me! Thx!
Just try to discover some differences and didn't find any major things. Only one 'strange' thing. When I hooked up my HD Traffic Receiver, and started to download QuickFix via HD Traffic, it first downloaded something else. This maybe sounds weird, but first I saw the message "Tomtom is downloading... please wait..." and when it passed the 100% the 'normal' message of "Downloading QuickFix... please wait..." appeared.
But well, nothing else happened after that. So you get rep. points if you can discover any differences :-)
nomailaol 11th September 2008, 22:53 Works great om my tomtom v4. 'Operate my Go' doesn't work yet, probably something tomtom's working on. Can update map sharing, etc. everything seems to work.
use it with ori switch.
Thank you TTuser, for your fine works.
Lets see who finds the differences with the previous one first ;-)
bilybob 11th September 2008, 22:53 :excited:lol I just updated 2min ago to 8.016 :LoL:
Ah well... big thx TTuser!! :urtheman:
Me too :hehe: 8.016 updated the bootloader and I just took it for a short drive and it worked flawlessly on 720. I guess I will just copy the ttsystem over and upgrade to this version. Slow down ttuser, I can't keep up:urtheman:

GBHEN 12th September 2008, 17:03 Thanks for uploading - slight problem with this release.
Wireless data connection no longer works with HTC Touch on this release on 1XL, even after entering all script settings again.
No worries, will go back to 8.011.
EDIT
My apologies, this release is now working fine with wireless data. Typical TomTom losing connection lol.
Only rectified by formatting and starting again - now have this Navcore working fine with traffic on clean SD card.
:oops2:
zakarias 12th September 2008, 17:17 Wonder what's new here?
Is is worth installing it on my TT One 3rd?
Does it make it any faster or... ?
stuffed7 12th September 2008, 18:09 just installed on my go920 ... look exactly the same like 8.011 lol lol lol

Over_Drive....thanks
Unfortuatly, that didn't seem to work. It's weird cause updating
the core's never caused me a problem before.
I'm thinking either the **system file got "boinked" or backlight issue
possibly.
**system file got "boinked" = betcha that's it. I'd think the boot process is just about fully dependent on that file.
Either way no real big deal. The unit [internal memory] don't contain nuttin illegal and unit is still under warranty.
Got me TTOne and my old PPC as backups.
umpire777 12th September 2008, 21:21 I've updated to this NavCore (8.051.9404) and my 720 is working fine. What isn't working is the emulator mode in the TomTom Home software. I'm also using the 810.1907 NorthAmerica Maps.
Steps: (downloaded the files from post 1)
1. Copied the basicpack files to my tomtom.
2. Copied the ttsystem file to my tomtom.
?3. Not sure where to put the Home Navcore file
For step 3, I've tried removing all the previous extensions so new one would be created, didn't work.
Tried copying an existing folder and renaming it to this version, put in the updated files, didn't work.
How can I get the emulator mode to work?
Yahma 15th September 2008, 19:11 Installed on my One LE and works perfect except for TomTom Services (GPRS). Seems to be able to connect once, but then trying to access traffic, weather, or any other service a 2nd time results in an error.
Did TomTom services work with the older versions of Navcore 8?
Cisco_guy 15th September 2008, 19:28 Hello guys
Does anyone tried this one with HD traffic ?
Does the HD traffic works ?
abigfriend 16th September 2008, 00:28 Installed on my One LE and works perfect except for TomTom Services (GPRS). Seems to be able to connect once, but then trying to access traffic, weather, or any other service a 2nd time results in an error.

Same problem with my TT1 v1 and versions 8.010/8.011. I was tempted to give a try to this version to see if this problem was fixed, but from what you say it seems still there.
stuffed7 16th September 2008, 22:39 well, installed last nite on my go920 ( waitin 4 bugless navcore 8.20 :) ) and im nice suprised: 8.051 workin really fast, gps reception is much better than on 8.011, EPT workin fine ...BT and wireless data too ....
tt1 18th September 2008, 06:37 So has anyone gotten 'Operate My ONE' working? I edited the ttgo.bak file as:
ApplicationVersionNumber=8051
ApplicationVersion=9404
or
ApplicationVersionNumber=8011
ApplicationVersion=9374
and it still doesn't work. Any ideas? Not sure if I'm doing this right.
stuffed7 18th September 2008, 12:29 what exactly Home says when u tryin to operate ur One ?
ilsaggio73 19th September 2008, 01:38 I have a strange problem ... even changing the ttgo.bif entering
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8051
ApplicationVersion=9404
tomtomhome not me download the dll, and still thinks that the tt has the core 8,010
ilsaggio73 19th September 2008, 01:44 I have a strange problem, even with changing the ttgo.bif
ApplicationVersionNumber=8051
ApplicationVersion=9404
tomtomhome not me download the dll, and still thinks that the tt has the core 8.010
I tried to erase the ttgo.bif, tomtom creates a new, with the core right, but with the bootloader wrong ...
tt1 19th September 2008, 06:50 Ok I got it working now.
I put the values 7.163 the latest official version for the ONE, and now placed the navcore dll in the 7.163 folder renamed it to 7.163 and now its working.
I like this version better than the 8.2 because TTS works. Too bad though the ALG isn't resized then I would ber really happy haha
Thx TTUser for this release.
ilsaggio73 19th September 2008, 18:14 but isn't normal...if i write in ttgo.bif
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8051
ApplicationVersion=9404
tthome must dowload the new dll...or no?!
TTuser 19th September 2008, 18:38 not if Home not know what to do, this is why you should use ttgo.bak with a other Number
shogun5 20th September 2008, 11:22 I also have a similar problem. I enter the details ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8051
ApplicationVersion=9404
into ttgo.bif with the correct version number for my 910 into ttgo.bak, but on reboot my ttgo.bif details have changed back to 7.163. I have even tried changing the properties of ttgo.bif to 'read only' but this made no difference.
When connecting to TT Home/operate my go the message I get is:
'The TomTom server did not understand your request. Maybe your HOME version is outdates. Please try to update via menue item'
Has anyone any ideas how to fix this? Any help appreciated.
PSJFLA 21st September 2008, 07:09 all working well on my 930.
one thing is really working better is....the 930 finding the BT remote....is very fast....compaired to 8.002 and 8.010.
PSJ aka Marc
.
Cisco_guy 21st September 2008, 12:44 Can anybody gives one screen for this navcore 8.051
does its looks the same as the 8.010 ?
birger3 21st September 2008, 13:48 @TTuser1
Looks exactly like Navcore 8.010. All functions work the same.
So far I did not observe huge differences. May be a somewhat faster satellite login and a little bit faster data processing???
@ilsaggio73
You have to change the name of your new tthome.dll to that of your latest original dll!!
E.g. If you worked and registered Navcore 8.010, you have to copy the new tthome.dll (8.051) to your TTHome extensions folder and rename it the same as your original one.
But before you do this, it is necessary to get the original version of the tthome.dll by creating a ttgo.bak where you changed the 8.051 figures to the original figures, e.g. 8010 and 9369 for Navcore 8.010
At least it worked for my Go930T.
Have a nice day
chamaruco 21st September 2008, 14:26 on your 930, have you always active sms write function?
i've lost it and now it says to me : function not supported :(

All icons are available. I might try it later today.
Best regards
chamaruco 21st September 2008, 16:27 I suppose that my problem is started upgrading to bootloader 5.5105 inside 8.2 version.
lincsat 24th September 2008, 18:02 I seem to get evrything I need working including Mapshare updates, just don't get any GPS Quickfix updates - is this normal or should I try a different Navcore?
shogun5 26th September 2008, 13:02 GPS Quickfix is now back online, mine updated last night using TomTom Home 2.4, navcore 8.051 and latest V8 maps
Cadkey 28th September 2008, 12:58 All news versions works very well.

Cainam 2nd October 2008, 12:31 TTUser, On the thread called "Navcore SE 8.010.9369/SE 8.011.9373 for old Devices", on the links page it says "Best NC for all devices = SE8011.9373".
Is this still the case, or would you recommend 8051.9404 now? Thanks!

Are you meaning it does ?
marcogancio 10th October 2008, 08:39 I've found some bugs using this fw, so I decided to go back to the stable 8.011.
I've a 910 with the 5022 bootloader.
These are the bugs that often, but randomly, appears on the device:
1) GPS does not find the position for hours.
2) Computer Voices seems to come from the hell (slow or fuzzy).
3) Random locks (need hw reset)
4) Sometimes, after the reset, the device lost the Hard Disk (Red X while booting).
5) Bluetooth sometimes does not connect to the phone.
Hope that these infos will be useful for TTUser. I've tried both ttsystem (the x10 and the "common" one).
Ciao
OKonnel 10th October 2008, 23:19 I've found some bugs using this fw, so I decided to go back to the stable 8.011. Hi marco! The last stable official version is 8.010 and not 8.011.
8.011 is a Beta and byteman makes a mistake in the important Post (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=2087076&postcount=53) when writing (exactly and with banned smile included):
:banned: <<Best NC for all devices=SE8011.9373>>".
TTUser, instead, loves the Navcore 8.010 and this is clear in the -->first Posts of 8.051 Thread (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=287254), etc.
So! TTUser writes:
Ask not what is different, would 8010 perfect works would they stop Development and you would still in 10 Years use same 8.010 (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=287254)

chamaruco 11th October 2008, 00:33 8.010 is perfect but not so perfect to avoid self turn on after shut down :( on my 930t
TTuser 11th October 2008, 00:34 no and Menuicons are in data.chk
x2phantom 11th October 2008, 00:39 I could extract the Filesystem, but I did not found any graphic files... Where are they stored at?

KeysGuy 11th October 2008, 06:01 TTuser,
I was able to replicate the evil voices. When I unplug the unit, it starts up again. This is when I get the evil voices.
Weird. Normally it starts up when you originally plug it in.
Thanks,

marcogancio 11th October 2008, 09:19 Hi marco! The last stable official version is 8.010 and not 8.011.
Bye
I know that, but on my 910 the 8.011 works like a charm, so is "stable" and fully functional....
:thanks:
Alex20047 11th October 2008, 10:07 I know that, but on my 910 the 8.011 works like a charm, so is "stable" and fully functional....
I would like to say that on my 910 the 8.051 works like a charm, so is "stable" and fully functional.... :)
Could say more - in comparison with 8.011 - it is quicker and have better GPS reception.
Did you install 8.051 on your 910 on clean HD? Or you left there something from old Navcore, Voices, etc.? Did you use clear_flash tool from TT after installation?

No, I've simply upgraded form the 8.011, but I'm quite expert to delete any previous setting, also the flash folder, the outsourced.bin and the root.
Yes, I've used the clear_flash tool lot of time w/out success.
I think (is only my opinion without any proof) that the problems are related to the bluetooth connection with my phone. The TT often hangs, evil voice reappear after the hard reset, GPS does not find the position. When these issues appears the bluetooth continously connects and disconnects from the phone. When the TT starts correctly also the bluetooth connection is stable.
Perhaps I'm right, perhaps not!

My experience with 910 shows that we have to many files and folders on our devices. :)
Even being an expert it is very complicated to follow all files which should be changed when new Navcore installed. Therefore I personally always start from absolutely clean TT 910 . Copy basic park, ttsystem – check how it works. Then copy a map - check how it works. Then ASR folder, voices …- check, etc. Then go to my backup and copy from there files and folders which I need.
Takes more time, but I always could see where is a problem and could correct it.
I have only one exception – migrate from 8. 010 to 8. 011. In this case I changed only ttsystem.
stuffed7 13th October 2008, 23:38 well, on my go920 first installed 'official' navcore v8.51 then replaced 'official' ttsystem by 'unofficial' by TTUser with Outsourced,bin folder ...and everythin workin VERY WELL :D
pinturikkio 14th October 2008, 12:51 ...then replaced 'official' ttsystem by 'unofficial' by TTUser with Outsourced.bin folder...Hi Stuffet7! I suggest to remove the Outourced.bin folder in all GO x10/x20/x30/x40... The your Go, in fact, have 64 MB RAM and Outousurced.bin is not useful (Outsourced.bin is only for TomTom with low quantity of RAM).
If you doesn't removes Outsourced.bin, the battery quickly discharge in Sleep mode. switchPoweroff")]. This is my consolidate experience with Go x10/x20 in 730 emu... ;-).
TTUser, even, unfortunately:oops2:don't emphasizes this important solution in each first Post with instructions for the SE_ttsystem use...
stuffed7 14th October 2008, 15:54 ...didn't know this but haven't problems with battery :)

luojs 18th October 2008, 17:39 Just downgrade from 8.201 to 8.051 for my go710 because the battery problem.But there are some small problem.

2. For tthome 2.4,when I use operate Go.TThome say I have wrong version,and not download dll.If I using ttgo.bak,tthome will download dll but the old one 7.6xx.But when I using 8.201 even w/o ttgo.bak,tthome will download 8.xx dll.
3. Under copyright\status link,it say "flash not mounted".Is this normal?
Thanks a lot.
Oreo1982 19th October 2008, 02:53 Hi Flack,
I had this exact same problem and fixed it by using the Clear Flash utility by TTUser (who is amazing!)
Anyway, try clear flash and you should be able to get GPRS working again. :D
I have attached it to this message so you can find it easily. You just copy these files into root of SD card and reboot TomTom.
ADDITION: And try copy the three 'connect2internet' files into the root too.

rpc1 19th October 2008, 20:47 Is it already patched? why does it show up as 8.010 in tthome then?
Hi,
have you also copied the outsourced.bin-files?
jimbo1976 19th October 2008, 20:56 yep, just going to do a fresh install
stuffed7 19th October 2008, 23:59 ...outsourced.bin has nothing to do with TTHome ...those information are in ttgo.bif and ttgo.bak ...so just open your ttgo.bif in notepad and edit those:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8051 ----> change to 8010
ApplicationVersion=9404 ----> change to 9369
and save as ttgo.bak
thats all :)
jimbo1976 20th October 2008, 00:17 sorry but how do you change it to ttgo.bak?
stuffed7 20th October 2008, 00:21 ... in notepad : menu file -> save as.. -> file name : ttgo.bak
jimbo1976 20th October 2008, 00:42 ... in notepad : menu file -> save as.. -> file name : ttgo.bak

jjliu98 27th October 2008, 21:20 I installed Navcore 8.051 on my GO 510. Now I have two questions:
Current configuration shows the following:
Flash not mounted
CurrentEmulation: x30
BT:1
TTS:on
Is it all right?
Second question: Can anyone tell me how to get TTS working?
stuffed7 27th October 2008, 22:37 ..don't know go510 but to get TTS working u need
ASR folder
and standard computer voices ( to download thru TTHome )
:)
jjliu98 28th October 2008, 04:01 Thank you, stuffed7.
ASR is working now.
Another stupid question: Where should I put the standard computer voices?
stuffed7 28th October 2008, 09:54 ... use TTHome to download and install : run TTHome, click on 'Add maps, Traffic, Voices etc' and find 'Computer voices' and click on it. Next pick one computer voice ( depending on your language ) .
thats all :)
ciropiro 28th October 2008, 15:12 >> ..don't know go510 but to get TTS working u need ASR folder <<
TTS and ASR are different systems and use different files.
ASR folder is not required for the TTS function, it's required just for the automatic speech recognition within the cspeech.dat files.
ADB100 5th November 2008, 19:05 Sorry if this has been answered before but I have searched and couldn't find an answer (searched on all variations on battery drain, usage, standby etc...)
I recently 'upgraded' a TomTom One 3rd Edition (internal 512MB Flash and no SD slot) to Navcore 8.051 (9404) and also installed the UK & Ireland 8.10 (1870) maps and it all worked a treat - thanks for every one who has made this possible :) Anyway the owner of the TomTom said the battery seems to drain when it is switched off and since they don't use it all the time they haven't been able to switch it on sometimes until they connect it to a charger (obviously after which it begins to charge up).
I am sure I had read previously that the GPS is put into a low power (standby?) mode when you switch off so there will be some power drain, however I can't find any information on this through searching.
What I want to know is will this eventually cause any damage or will it be OK? If it may cause damage is there anything I can do to prevent it?
Cheers
Andy
EDIT: Just read the thread titled 'install "poweroff" '..... :oops2: So I know now how to make it power down fully. However is it possible to cause any damage if the battery looses enough power so the TomTom won't power on until a charger is attached?
