Known Errors (Experiences valid for my 710):
old Remote still dead (this mean the "NOT BT" Remote);
no "poweroff" more possible (the angry Watchdog barks always and the Device wake up again);
only 5 Sdk Programs or Mapsharepreferences is not available;
SDK Programs which need Touchscreen works not more;
Pc-Connection freeze it sometimes;
only x30 TTS Voices works, not x20, 910 Voices or VocalizerTTS (looks as should it works, seems only bugged);
no onettssdk Emu. available;
x40 Emu. very loud Sound already at 10%, 0% Brightness is total dark, other Emus. are not affected from this strange Behavior;
try not to do some illogically Action your Device would honor it with a "Freeze" Example Light at 5% and say per Voice Command "darker";
Emu. ttssdk(2): Quickacesspreferences freeze, despite the ALG Button works it not;
x20,x30: FM, Lightsensor, Lineout dead
GPRS (HDT) dead
and some more...
Original for Device: x40
Works not for 910

You need to download:
Basicpack+ SE_ttsystem.8.201.9497.rar for all Devices
ASR Folder for Voice Input is new
x30 Voices (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1972184&postcount=111)

all Features, Function, use similar as already known, read readme for exact Infos
use new adapted "swichfile over Menu" not more the old
new Bootloader 5.5105 run on 710, onev2, (some more) without a Problem
should something not work then create a File "noclean" in root and try again
Until a x40 Backup and exact Values works x40 Emu. not 100%

all need to use ttgo.bak to say Home the correct official latest Versionnumber for your TT

Should someone mirror it again to RS then change the rar a little that it have a other crc.

Changelog:
05.10. Home dll now available
20.09. v1.2 nothing important changed, GPS should now also works for go700 (x00)
16.09. v1.1 nothing important changed, "bton" to change the Menu should now really for all Devices works; ttgo.bak creation works now also first boot,(previous without ttgo.bif need 2 boots); add tiny check for "important" Files, start with File "runcheck", view config.txt for Results (wait until *done); only ttsystem is new

Now only as .dlc ,you can use

Any successful tires on the ONE v2? Judging by the notes by TTUser, it may not work at all.

My testing on a TT1V2 :
it works, if you boot twice ... Hardboot !! (use a Stick in the hole)
But the memory is very smal to work with TTS or playing MP3 !
This Version is not produced for a TT1v2 with only 32 MByte RAM

This time i use the Bootloader 5.5105 and the bigger (newer) data_li.chk
with SE 8016 -> all work : MP3,TTS(smal),ALG,IQ (Free RAM 11,2)

Works good on my 920 except of the google button and after a hardreboot i have to take out the sdhc 8gb card otherwise it freezes...after the reboot i can plug it in and no probs afterwards...only after hardreboot...I guess it is because of the bootloader 5.022 but I am a little afraid to install the new one that comes with this navcore...but i can live with it.

Yeah and I checked the FM-Transmitter...it is also not working on my 920 either.
Line out won't work either.
But after all it looks very promising...lets see what the next updates will bring.

Haven't done any test driving so far...so i can't say anything about that.

I think Bluetooth works better...it found my remote in a sec and on old navcores it took more then 10 secs and sometimes didn't find it at all.

I will switch back to a previous version and will wait until it gets more compatible to other devices.

Thanks for the great work TT

Since 8.2XX only is released for the x40 units you got to have a x40 unit to get it through home (and my guess is that you probably don`t have one since they haven`t "hit the streets" yet - and only a wery limited number of people got it)

Bearing in mind that most seem to be noobs, a few of which have been bump started lately, I can't help thinking this could all end in tears for some of em.

You are so right. m8. I was a beta tester involved for x30 units and the testing regime was so poor, I could not believe things. Two multiple choice sessions and a little free text input was all we got. The x40 test is only marginally better. I really wonder if they know what they are doing. I am certainly very cheesed off with them as I have found that certain features that I really need day to day are just not available whilst beta testing. I do not know whether they farm out certain aspects to certain testers, but what I have to test is a load of S**T. I am using from a 720 that thinks it is a 930 delux normally. What I test, the unit thinks it is a One for the features I can use.

Non disclosure policy - bag of crap, let us test properly. At the end of the day, we all need accurate maps, so why we test on out of date maps is beyond me, and why the hell only on little bits of the changes? Surely it would be of use to test the whole package before release as x40 emulator.

A previous company I worked for used beta testing for ironing out bugs "software features - not disclosed" with a £10 credit for bug reported if it was reported first, with a database issued real-time for the testers. That was cheaper and faster in the long-term.

Thanks to TTUser for releasing this, it is so different from the version I have, which quite frankly again is not worthy of me testing any further as it is CRAP

But having had my rant, I would still recommend a TomTom unit to anyone with certain caveats.:exactly:

Navcore 8.2 works great on my One V1 (classic) including ALG etc. . What I don't see however is the TomTom Services menu. Instead it shows the Add To Favorites Icon on the first page of the main menu. Does anyone know how to activate the Services menu. With Navcore 8.011 and 8.016 it worked.

Ok, tried it on my One 2nd edition with 5010 bootloader.. Tried the X40 emulation - WOW!
new graphics, new icons and much cooler looking overall.

..but I'm quite confused about the switchfiles - the SDKRegistry folders and the files in them. I don't think the readme reveals anything :/

And what about the system1 system5 files? Are they used to update the bootloader (once renamed to system)? To put it in another way, can I delete them?

But boy X40 emulation is cool..

TTuser
13th September 2008, 00:55
If you not know for what is switchfiles sdkreg...update then need you it also not

system5..... is of course the newer Bootloader, for your Choice, rename it if you like to update, and of course can you delete it if not needed.

Go 510, boot 5.5012, map NA 810.

The good:
1- Acquire satellites super fast (got 4,5 bars inside my home, not possible before - 8.010).
2- Sound very loud and clear.

The bad:
1- Susan stopped talking.
2- Toll (ask before) doesn't work (I guess it's the same for HOV lane, Ferry ...).

arjanb
13th September 2008, 01:21
The Service menu still doesn't show up, even with the bton switchfile in the root (Bluetooth is activated). There are also speedcams in the map, but they don't show up in the Route Demo either. With 8.011 en 8.016 the speedcams and Service menu worked.

system5..... is of course the newer Bootloader, for your Choice, rename it if you like to update, and of course can you delete it if not needed.

ok,I know what the sqitchfiles are for, but not entirely the SDKfolders.

If updatingthe bootloader fails, will my device be totally dead, or can it enter a DFU mode allowing me to update the bootloader correctly?

on One2nd, there is the same issue with brightness, 0% and is totally off.. If I'm using X40 emu then the device will not sleep properly, goes into a coldboot. If I use x40light - then all good. Now I just need to try it on the road tomorrow :)

noflash was only for Devices with "flashmountproblem" this Version works ok, a noflash/flash would it not more interest, the inbuilt Solution for this Problem exist not more
down from Dockingstation! if you boot, connect not to Pc, seems it like this not and freeze

Ok, I got my 720 to work. Initially I put it on an SD card and it would never boot. Put on the internal memory and it works a-ok...except I have to take the SD card out, boot and then put it back in.

Much prettier, GPS seems less sensitive.

Anyone with a 720 have the same problem of it not booting unless you take the SD card out? Mine is a 4GB SDHC card.

Greg1
13th September 2008, 06:36
is it the original navcore from tomtom? becuase the update service from tomtom home doesn't show it

Thats what I was thinking as well. Since I have an Origional ONE XL and Home hasn't reported any new Navcore versions since v8.010.9369 and there has been several versions released since then.

I spoke too soon, my 720 locks up hard when I do a Plan Route and it gets back to the map screen. It does this with the 8.10 NA map. Funny thing is it doesn't lock up with the New Zealand 7.1 map.

This is a HW lockup, needs the reset button. Maybe related to the general doesn't like to boot with SD cards inserted....? Any thoughts?

Going back to Navcore 8.011 works good, no lockups.

Update: Reinstalled Navcore 8.2 and copied the NA 8.10 map (minus some speech files) to the internal memory and no lockups so I think, at least on a 720 that there is an issue with SDHC cards. Wish I had a non SDHC card to experiment with.

where do we have to patch the .dlc file ?

I'm not 100% sure but I think the dlc file is just another way of downloading the hacks needed for patching your device. Not needed for the actual patching.

BTW, I installed on my 920 and had no problems other than the already stated issues.

Looking forward to a fully functional x40 os :)

At this moment the best navcore version for x20 seems to remain the 8.011.

All the newer versions seem to have bugs, create various problems and no add benefit to the unit.

No one say it is in .cab, you need also support_asr.dat and the TTclowns pack it again not in the .cab
there are also other "switchfiles" from TT which never exist in .cab
try it, i know not is it at all right or for this Case made, write possible better also a 1 inside, It's worth trying.
with a x40 Backup would we know more

for Servicemenu use "bton" again

Did different things. Copying over existing installation, install it clean or with asr and additional voices. WaCE 8.05 or 8.10. No luck so far. What I will try later is edit the model.txt before the first boot and trying different emulation modes. Maybe that works....

Start it and immediatly connect it again to my laptop. Checked the 'debug' file, but it is still 0 bytes. That is not much help, is it? :confused:

I'm using 5010 and have absolutely no issues with my SD card.

I have bootloader 5.5105 and yes, still have the problems. Navcore 8.2 on internal memory works, not on SD card. Also with 8.2 I can't have an SD card in the slot when it powers up. 8.2 definitely has issues with SD cards which is a pain because it looks a lot nicer and there are some nice extras in there.

Primero pido perdon por la traducción si no es correcta.

I have a Tomtom Go 720 maps 810

Installed tapeworm Version 8.011 and today I have put the 8.201:

Way of installation:

1. - Upon navcore 8,011, I have installed navcore 8.201.9497 basicpack.
2. - Replaced folder ASR.
3. - Position the SE_ttsystem.8201.9497 (Only ttsystem)
4. - Position the system of navcore_8.201.9497.go540-go740.cab

With this everything works:
Commandos of voice (the new option of this version), logendo, guide of tracks, radars, etc.

You beat when I disconnect it of the computer and I start up it if it has the put SD remains blocked, reason why I have it to ignite without this SD and to put it later and tomtom to it recognizes it, if I extinguish it and I ignite it normal (Without connecting to the computer), if that recognizes the SD.

I have done one demo and works everything.

I hope that it helps with this.

navcore.8.201.9497@tomtom.com

this directory containing for instance the tomtom home dll for navcore v 8011 sdk renamed as
8-201-9497-1.dll

don't forget also to put in your ttgo.bak

BootLoaderVersion=55022 (for instance or 55105)
RamDiskVersion=20080821
LinuxVersion=222791
ApplicationVersionNumber=8201
ApplicationVersion=9497

good with a v 805-810 map

Can you please be more discriptive ?
where to creat the map and where to edit the dll file

thank you

I tried 8.2 on my go510....

IT WORKS!!!

Map sharing preferences (on GO) and update (on Home): OK

LoquendoTTS: OK

BT: OK

MP3: OK

Lane: OK

IQ: OK

Very fast response on touch

Recognition of Voice: on main page where appear a mic it works....but if you select "go to"---> "vocal address" it doesn't work.

Connection to PC: Freeze but it restarts alone and connect correctly to PC...

I'm waiting for a stable version but for now it is OK! ;)

use the version.txt from TTUser (first post in this thread).. copy it to the root of your device and it generates the .bak.. but first edit the version.txt and correct the numbers.. all described in the readme

http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1972184&postcount=111

Download ttusers navcore with goodies from here
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7BMXNLUJ

Backup before you start:punish:. Use your favourite extractor like winrar to extract the files from .cab and .rar
I replaced the files on the internal memory and only know that it worked perfectly on internal memory without sdcard on a 720. I also used the official navcore for 940. I was using 8.016 with 8.10 NA map.

1. Replace the files on 720 internal memory with the files from official navcore that you extracted. I just overwrote all the files with the extracted files. Also make sure that support_asr.dat file is present in your ASR folder.

2. Replace the files in LoquendoTTS with the files extracted for ttx30 files. Eg. I was using kate and copied the files in LoquendoTTS, bin and data subfolders. This part is only for xx20 devices and maybe earlier??

3. Copy ttsystem file extracted from ttusers navcore to your device.

4. Eject the device and reboot.

5. It will upgrade the bootloader etc and you will be greeted with new navcore.

6. Connect to home and get map corrections/ quick gps fix etc. Operate device won't work obviously.

Everything that I have tested works so far on 720. TTS, Voice Inputs, Very Fast GPS signal acquisition. Its a little louder than before and goes dark at 0 brightness. Menus on dark background look good. Compass still sucks but not complaining. Free memory is now at 14mb with bluetooth turned off on my 720. It used to be around 27mb. Didn't mention the switches because they are mostly dependent on personal preference so use them as you wish.
Many thanks to ttuser, russell1, and anybody else for all the links :excited:

Here a work around for 720T to boot with sd card:

1. Copy all folders from a working nc 8.016 at your sd card (no files from the root directory).

2. Copy the folders ADR and LoquendoTTS from the original nc 8.2 over it.

Now the 720T should start with sd card without problems.

I can switch manually (or by voice) from day to night, and the other way around but not automatically with the lightsensor.

Hy,

i have take the Navcore.8.010.9369@tomtom.com male a Copy in a separate Sub-Dir and rename this Copy in Navcore.8.201.9497@tomtom.com an copy return.

I change the 8-010-9369.dll in 8-010-9369.old.dll und take the cracked version from 8-010-9369.dll an copy in the Navcore.8.201.9497@tomtom.com Sub-Dir.

You can change the Name to 8.201.9497.dll or not for fun.

And now can you work with TomTom Home.

I simple edit the .bif and .bak with this values (taked from page 2):

BootLoaderVersion=55105
Ramdiskversion=20080821
Linuxversion=222791
ApplicationVersionNumber=8201

Tried this new version on a tomtom One V2. Works fine, except the TTS voices (new x30 ones) are not working (no sounds, be they appear in the menu), including the Vocalizertts voice. If some one or TTuser has an idea on how to get it working or a new version any info would be nice. Using the X40-light setting, with x20 it also does not working.

have you used the Files from Basicpack? and not perhaps overwrite with Voicefiles?

is there a working version 8.201.9497 for Go930T ?

Tried all tips from this thread.

I had great problems with frozen boot screens with SD card and reboots after planing a new route.

Thx,

Tried to fix the HD issue this afternoon, but without any success.

To illustrate the HD difficulties, please refer to the attached screenshots. After connecting the HD Traffic Receiver I get the message 'TomTom LIVE Receiver connected' but the HD Traffic bar keeps it's grey color and the status 'circle' isn't moving.

I'll wait paitently untill someone has figured out this problem. In the mean while, I'll stick to 8.011.

I simple edit the .bif and .bak with this values (taked from page 2):

BootLoaderVersion=55105
Ramdiskversion=20080821
Linuxversion=222791
ApplicationVersionNumber=8201
ApplicationVersion=9497

I use a tomtom ONE without the internal HD, or the HD traffic receiver...

the only thing to do, for the mapshare corrections, is to change the values on the ttgo.bif and ttgo.bak. is correct?
Where do i locate the ,bif and the ,bak ?
how do i edit them ? open with notpade?

alejRED

the ttgo.bif and ttgo.bak are in the root of tomtom, and you can open with notepad, but as TTuser said, the only important file is the ttgo.bif

But when I plug in my 4 GB SDHC memory card (with stored mp3 and audiobooks only) and I bott again - nothing happens - I see the boot screen - but it hangs, I think.

There's good news. Someone earlier on found the fix and it works for me. I had the same problems you're describing, no boot with SD card inserted and worse, if I took it out, booted and put it back in I'd get a hard locak after a route was planned.

Here's the fix:

Thanks to Sleepyhollow :urtheman:

P.S. I didn't copy any newer ASR folder files across and it worked for me, no more lockups and it boots with the SD card in there. Actually, everything except wireless data works for me now, even the voice commands!

I have given up after 2 days trying to get my TT500 to stop rebooting every 5 minutes and freezing every time I try navigating to a postcode. Guess this is like the 910 and not compatible with the 8.201 navcore which is a shame as it looks so good. It saw my phone fine for calling. My phone is not compatible with wireless data so don't know about that. I could dial out fine but it wouldn't receive calls on tomtom. A hard reset on tomtom fixed that issue. Another thing is that there is no back button in the call menu. Once you push call on tomtom, you have to dial something or you will be stuck on that screen.

FM transmitter is not working for music. There is no option for tts via FM Transmitter. The zoomout icon on the map doesn't work. You can however zoomout by using voice command.

Overall not bad for first release and has been stable on my 720. Many thanks ttuser :D

Interface looks nice.
Noticed that i had to remove my SD-card to be able to boot.
Unfortunately HD Traffic doesn't work on my GO930.
When I connect the HD Traffic receiver my TomTom says that the LIVE receiver is connected but the blue led on the HD traffic receiver remains dark and when I look in "Network" settings on my GO it doesn't display SIM/IMEI etc.

So no go with HD Traffic on 8.2 for now.

The shutdown screen was shown... but very very quickly.. so you can only see the branding dark light from this shutdown screen on screen if TT is down
Test it with emu x20, x30 so you can see old screen, also the shutdown screen.
AND with emu x20/x30 there is also the TT-Services :-)
The newest i tested:
ALG now also with smal screen as like TTOne -> now you can see all at right side... Wonderful

For some unit, there is a boot-problem Okey, i think the boot procedure is under NC 8.2 with new definition:
1.) Init-Boot (first Boot after SD was input) -> screen freeze by reading kernel
2.) Cold-Boot (second boot after freezing and you use the clip in the hole) -> unit makes a new init and go then in Sleep-Modus
3.) WakeUp-Boot (third boot after second is doen and all if you use ON/Off-Button) -> solong as you not remove the SD or not make a Cold-Boot with SDK-Menu

But I am still having the problem of the device getting reset as soon as you plan a route, let say I am planning to go from point A to B as soon as it calculate the routing and try to comeback to the main screen, it just freeze & restart on the summarry screen, I am using "v810.1870" map.

I'm currently back to 8.051 and everything is working fine on that one. HD Traffic is also working on that version. So I premuse that it also works fine under 8.016. But if you really need to have it reconfirmed, please let me know and I install 8.016 to test HD Traffic.

Just for your info, I went from 8.011 to 8.201 and then back to 8.051 (due to the fact that HD Traffic didn't work under 8.201). That's why I didn't used 8.016.

I wonder if it would be a way to change the word "then" for the word "afterwards" or any other word in the Guide Voice.
I'm using a 510 (spanish Loquendo), and the word "then" is translated in a way that I would like to change for a more appropiate one.
With the old Navcores 7, the word was translated as "afterwards" which was a more appropiate translation.

Thanks
