Please tell me where I can find the instructions of N95 dead flashin, because I can't find it on the site that you gave me. I tried to flash but get a new window with the error:
"The flashing failed. Do you like to retry the flashing?
HRESULT 0x84012286 (-2080300410)
Flash: The device driver did not load. Verify phone is connected and powered on."
I can then choose between 'Retry' and 'Cancel'.
And in the output screen I get this error:
"Failed to open RAW USB connection
Unable to set the phone to flash mode. Unable to flash."
I already registered on the Blue Nokia site, but I can't ask it there on the forums because it German and the English one isn't working.
I hope you know how to fix this problem, because Nokia don't want to fix my phone because I haven't the certificate of purchase.
THANKS!!!

oh well in that case you are probably out of luck. you need to flash it using a box.
did you try to downgrade? if you tried to downgrade then your phone cant be revived through dead phone flash - you need to flash it using ppm+cnt method. there is an option under advanced in phoenix, but i have not tried this. JAF works though.

You certainly can.
If you just want to reinstall it, I'd recommend you use either Nokia Software Update or Nokia Care Suite; these are far easier to use and do not require any kind of crack or other stuff the may end up bricking your phone.

Uninstalling Phoenix is possible. Infact I have uninstalled it from my PC after I was done with the Firmware Update of E71.
Download FLS-4 application from the link given below:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Install the application & after you have installed it, go to Add/Remove Program in your PC & uninstall Phoenix from there. It'll uninstall without any problem.
Once you are done with the Uninstall of Phoenix, go to Add/Remove Program in your PC again & remove the FLS-4 application from there.
I have personally tested this on my PC. Win XP Prof SP-3.
Cheers. :partyman:

I found the following thread which should work, but uses NSS instead of Phoenix:

Hope it works.

Besides uninstalling Phoenix, it is also recommended to remove all other Nokia software (Connectivity Drivers, Flashing Drivers, DK2 Drivers, DataPackages). That will help you ensure that next time you want to install a Nokia software (be it for Service like Phoenix or for Data like PC Suite) there'll be no problem.

Phoenix is a Service software provided to Nokia Care (Authorized Service Centers) for servicing Nokia Phones.
It includes thousands of options and features to flash, test and repair phones.
It's a very complete and cool solution, if handled correctly.
It is used by most users (that is, non-service people) to flash new firmwares to phones, or try to bring back to life a dead/bricked phone.

Hello there! Today I wanted to update software on my N73 Music Edition, however NSU update failed, and now my phone won't turn on. How can I bring life to it again ? Please help me, thank you in advance!
EDIT: In windows when I connect my N73 with USB, windows recognises it as an "Unknown Device". I tried Phoenix, but when it says "Waiting for USB device. Press phone's power button (if you start from dead terminal)", it just stops there. It does not even recognise my phone. What can I do ?

20th March 2009, 15:04
@tziris
Firmware downgrade is a very sensitive process and not recommended AT ALL.
You can only do it successfully by using a box (a very expensive piece of hardware) like JAF or MT.
Another option is to ask at a Nokia Care if they are willing to do it (most likely they'll just refuse).
If you try to downgrade by using Phoenix and a USB cable, you'll most likely brick/kill your phone and you'll have to either dead-flash it or take it to a Nokia Care for repairs.
Some people say Nokia Care Suite (software) can downgrade with no need of a box, but honestly I haven't tried it and I don't think that'll work.
That being said, this has been asked and answered way too many times, so please make sure you search before posting.
