Requirements: Windows CE v4.2 or Windows CE v5.0, 16MB program memory.
Overview: This is Garmin Mobile XT for Windows Mobile v5.00.10w cracked to work under Windows CE. I have also included a script that does the following:
1. Hides the taskbar
2. Runs Port Splitter
3. Runs Garmin Mobile XT
4. Saves Garmin settings
5. Safely stops and exits Port Splitter

Extract files with WinRAR and copy GMobileCard contents to your SD card.


Grab the voice files from:

Get my cracked exe and dlls from one of the following mirrors:

Troubleshooting:
For Windows CE 4 devices:
rename coredl2.dll to coredl2.wince5.dll and rename coredl2.wince4.dll to coredl2.dll
If it still does not work try various combinations of aygshel2.dll and coredl2.dll

For 480x272 devices, if the map screen does not display so well:
rename QueBmp240.dll to QueBmp240_orig.dll and rename QueBmp320.dll to QueBmp240.dll

Edit Garmin\RunGMXT\Garmin.mscr to change the PortSplitter settings.
For devices that do not need PortSplitter delete all the lines for PortSplitter in this script.

Updates:
The top screen bug has been fixed. No reason to display a background image anymore.
Created a dummy wininet.dll that should work in Windows CE 4 devices too.

Everytime I start Garmin, the audio level is at 60 % . Even if I change it to 100 % and exit, it doesn't save the setting and returns to 60 % level on next start. Does anyone know anything about saving audio setting level or fixing to 80 or 100 %? (I have Mio C520)

i would like to ask is there any chance to get garmin mobile xt working on MEDION MDPPC200? I have installed program, maps, unlocked everything, but i am not able to connect it to external gps, that is connected on serial port (COM1). Garmin application recognises that something is connected on that serial port, but cannot get gps data. Is there any chance to make it work on that type of PPC.

1) I have a RYE 3503 (wince 4.2) and i can not save my settings no matter what i do. I suppose i'm doing something wrong. Is it possible for youto upload a user guide?

2) The show/hide/toggle tool bar do nothing on my device. Any ideas?

Is it possible to make another exe file that simply copies the files from a location (e.g. e:\garmin\settings) to "my computer\garmin\" and after that run garmin. If you make the settings the first time,then manual copy them to the above location the problems are solved quite easily (I imagine).

I installed Garmin Xt in 7 inch widescreen WinCE 5.0. All is working well after renaming the image file. Trip meter and odo meter are not properly displayed specially the Speedo meter and odometer. Do I have to rename some other file also. Average maximum time etc working but speedo meter not working and not properly displayed. It shows up half screen and has no numbers.

anybody got this working in a mio moov 310?

Please help. I had Garmin XT previous installed for my Wince 5 pna. I used other software in between, and now, when I put the SD card in, XT wont start anymore. It goes to the 1st screen, asking to connect to an other gps system only. When I click on that it goes back to explorer. What to do? My Shell registry settings:

There is no point to dowload this. I get the program working on my friend's wince4.2 system but it cant find the GPS no matter what.. And some times the garmin crashes and reporting a memory issue...

Where do I get the POI for North America? I don't see any pre-installed *.gpi files. All I get is a prompt that says Delete Location? I press ok then it brings me back. When I go: Where to?> Points of Interest

I can go to Extras and use the custom POI's I made but I would like the default ones from factory too.

Edit: Not only did I need the Garmin XT North America NT 2009 maps, I also needed the 1GB gmapsupp.img for that map set. Everything works now. :good2:

- unzip 5.0.10 files dlls WM folder
- unzip 5.0.10 files mscr scripts folder
- unzip 5.0.20 files wm folder

then go inside the mscr folder, where there are some files like
taskmanagerhide
portspliter.exe
garmin.exe
garmin.mscr

and then execute the garmin.EXE file.

finally the GPS is now detected..... (my keys where ok from the begining, its not clear which file u need to execute on the end, a comment on that could be added on the first post).

Inside this RunGMXT folder u should run the garmin.exe file...
and then the Garmin runs and the GPS works..

The GPS should be autodetected by garmin program.
If garmin asks you to retry the searching of the GPS device, then it will not work, something is not done as needed.

Thank you, septlc. when I run the garmin.exe, there was an error message. "A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. the program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated" program: port splitter.exe.

What should I do now? Could you upload your garmin folder without the map file?

I have the same minor problem with ekolab.
This GMXT was successfuly installed to my Mio C320 and run smoothly.
Renaming QueBmp320.dll to QueBmp240.dll only solve the vertical display problem, the right side problem remains unsolved.

Any suggestion?

I have exactly the same error message when trying to run it on my Transonic 4000 bought with Navigon 5 onboard and now running with iGO8 run from SD card. Three of us have had the same problem. Any help to resolve this would be most appreciated.

so that's why i couldn't get this to work on mio c310x. I deleted the port splitter settings and now it works. So on a wince 4.2 device, how do you tell garmin where your GPS is w/o port splitter?

I have extracted everything the rar file had ( Option 1 ) on an SD card , put SD card on my MIO C220 , but if i try to run Garmin.exe from the folder RunGMXT it seems to start the aplication just for a blink of a second and then ......... nothing .

Big problems with this version, no way to recover the traces and WPT.

Files are saved in. NVM, and no way to recover except for the active track (GARMIN_ATRK.NVM) which can be in conversation. Gpx mapsource compatible.

you can try this. unzip the attached file to your sd card. open the file. you should see a thin grey line along the bottom edge of the pna's screen. that should be the taskbar 'autohiding'. then do as previously instructed. if this doesn't work, then i am stumped!:sorry: good luck!

Hi there, same with me, I tried both the all in one version and the component version but after both installation and executing garmin.exe it blinks for less then a second and nothing happen.

I'm using Mio digiwalker C320 which has the navman software, miopocket 2.0 release 45.

I reboot and tried to run only port splitter.exe and on the output port, there is nothing to choose from therefore can not start splitting. So I guess the portsplitter is not working.

Reboot again and tried to just execute que.exe, nothing at all.

I have also tried various garmin CE setup from other sources and all about same result.

Did I miss something here?

I desperately need garmin as I also use Bluechart often.

find out which .exe file runs your nav software via activesync. back it up and then replace with the explorer.exe file.

Maybe one of the "techies" out there can also help me. I have a Route 66 Chicago 6000 which runs on Windows CE 5.0. Just after I purchased this unit I was told that it was discontinued and the maps will not be updated anymore! I now would like to install Garmin Mobile XT on it, but I am not having any sucess. I downloaded all the necessary files and copied the files onto the SD card. If I then tap on any of the exe files in the Garmin folder, I only get error messages that it is not a valid CE application. If I tap on the script files, I get an error message that it cannot find a DLL file, but the file is in that folder. I am really stumped with this one. Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

but, my device not recognize the new SD card.

Windows CE is not displayed for this device, it's only like application with 4 options: Navigation, MP3, Photo, Movie and setup.

How can i switch it into WINDOWS CE display? so i can run my Garmin..

i have a problem, i have a chinese 2 din car stereo, now i have loaded all the cracked dll's and so on, that includes the sw.unl and gmapsupp.unl, when i launch it, it comes up with a screen that has a selection of "purchase" , "unlock" and so on, it almost seems like i need an internet connection, when i go to the "enter code", it keeps asking for an 8 digit code, now i know that if this is not cracked properly no gps signal will be found, so for some of you that wonder why it is NOT connecting, it is because of this, so, either can someone kindly upload there sd card files with no maps (otherwise too large ). please note the system i have, it is a 7 inch car stereo, running wince5 and a touchscreen type, i have igo r3, tomtom, polnav and route66 running no probs, but i love my garmin.

hey mate, well i actually got an sd card that came with it, and it had tomtom, igo, plonav, mobile navigator and route 66, trust me dextersj, igo is by far the best, with many features followed by garmin. garmin although might be slow to draw it's maps, but it's features are good, there is plenty here to download, not sure if i can upload the file without the map of course, i have tried to attach it here, hope it works, just download the right map for yourself, i have the aussie maps only.

o.k dex, i have done it, got garmin going, go to the links to garmin website, download garminxt 5.00.20 files with basemap and support files, use the jetmouse keygen to create an sw.unl file using notepad, make sure you use the card id and NOT the device id and generate, note, when saving make sure there is no "txt" at the end, in other words, it must not be like this " sw.unl.txt" but "sw.unl". here's where i found out the other problem, the maps should be named gmapprom.img and NOT gmapsupp, once done all working, but you know what?, igo r3 is the best now that i have this going.:goodluck:

o.k dex, i have done it, got garmin going, go to the links to garmin website, download garminxt 5.00.20 files with basemap and support files, use the jetmouse keygen to create an sw.unl file using notepad, make sure you use the card id and NOT the device id and generate, note, when saving make sure there is no "txt" at the end, in other words, it must not be like this " sw.unl.txt" but "sw.unl". here's where i found out the other problem, the maps should be named gmapprom.img and NOT gmapsupp, once done all working, but you know what?, igo r3 is the best now that i have this going.:goodluck:

hi buffy, the sw.unl file should be in your garmin folder, that is when you open it, it should be there along with the maps and sub-folder, if no map found, then rename your map from " gmapsupp" to "gmapprom", no need to change the sw.unl, also, after getting garmin going, i find that igo r3 is sooooo much better by far, quicker map draw and much more features on screen, take my advice, use igo r3.:thanks:

this does work, but as usual, garmin is so slow in drawing the map, so i have reverted back to igo8 r3, which is so much faster and much better settings with 3d buildings, forget it folks, it's the same old thing, it depends on your prefernce.

I just notice why some people can't crack like me.

I have integrated car navigation (WD6050) which runs ce 5.0. I managed to put Gramin XT to SD card and also generate SW.UNL in Garmin folder, but I still have first screen to enter activation code or use garmin GPS device, like it does't detect unlock code. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?

If yes, put your SD or micro SD card into the Nuvi unit, and go into the diagnostics mode (for nuvi 200 - press and hold the battery icon until the diag mode is started, search for procedures for other model), browse through the pages for device ID. That's how I got my device ID. If no, sorry - can't help as I don't know (or didn't research) how to get it without the Nuvi GPSr.

This the only the last method i think so far since im install this since 1 month ago.For this moment, i only have 1 friend that have this garmin nuvi pna, but he live far from my house. im only gonna visit him for next month. so will try later.

In Garmin/RunGMXT/Garmin.mscr you must have this changed lines:

#Save new settings back to SD Card
XCopy("\Garmin\*.*","\Storage Card\Garmin\RunGMXT\Settings", TRUE)

This way Garmin will save your settings to memory card. Enjoy.

I installed Garmin Xt in 7 inch widescreen WinCE 5.0. All is working well after renaming the image file. Trip meter and odo meter are not properly displayed specially the Speedo meter and odometer. Do I have to rename some other file also. Average maximum time etc working but speedo meter not working and not properly displayed. It shows up half screen and has no numbers.

I did manage to install and run gmxt on my moov 500 taiwan. I use the file downloaded from the first page. I did a little bit of tweaking on the baud value from 11 to 57600.
However. I did encounter some problem. When ever i disabled the gps, the detail map displayed beautifully. However, if I enabled the gps (it said sirfnavdrv), the map goes blank.

I did try to set the baud value to 11 again, but the same event happened again.

Does anybody could suggest what happened and how to resolve this?

I have the same problem on my Magelan Triton2000, where are WinCE 5.0.
After installation from the original ZIP file to the SD card and copying all the files from the patched version I run Que.exe and get the error message, that this file is not a valid Win CE application.
Have you had the same problem? Could somebody help me how to solve this issue?

Well, I tried it and get an error message about the wrong input port. Then I set the correct settings in the .mscr file for port splitter. After this when I run the Garmin.exe again I didnt get any error messages, but the aplication wont start.
I also tried to comment all the port splitter lines as suggested in the 1st post to skip running port splitter, but still the same result.
Any other idea, please?

Well, I give up with running Garmin XT on my Magellan Triton. I will better use OZI explorer or iGO, which runs OK.

there seems to be a lot of questions and not enough answers, this garmin is to much hassel but im still determined to get it to work. im having problems with garmin not saving my settings. im going to try and do what was suggested in previous posts. ill leave feedback on my findings

Finally...after 3 days I got Garmin XT working!
I have a MIO Moov 500 w/ Windows CE5 that is unlocked with Miopocket 3.0 release 53.

1. download option 1 on first page of thread. (do not do v5.00.20w update yet.)
2. Transfered Garmin folder to root of SD card.
3. transfer my map (gmapsupp.img) to garmin folder
4. Open Garmin program @ Sdcard/Garmin/RunGMXT/Garmin.exe
if you get missing files error, then reinstall MioPocket and open Garmin.exe again
5. Open garmin, skip scanning, go to settings, about and get Software ID or Card ID and
close Garmin.
6. put number keygen.exe (garmin xt option) and then put number in sw.unl file.
7. put sw.unl file in garmin root folder.
8.. open garmin again and it should be unlocked but no GPS found....now close garmin
9. Download Garmin Mobile XT for Windows CE v5.00.20w update on page 1 of thread.
10. copy and paste contents of VM folder to VM folder in sdcard/garmin/apps and replace files.
11. open garmin and gps should work.

This worked for me.

First try was wrong for me.
First i updated to Garmin Mobile XT for Windows CE v5.00.20w and could not get unlock code. With v5.00.20w i get a hardware id code and card code. In version 5.00.10w, i only get software id code. So I downgraded to v5.00.10w and first unlock code worked...then update to 5.0.0.20w
I can unlock garmin with v5.00.10w but cannot get GPS signal. After I upgraded to v5.00.20w then I can get GPS signal.

THIS POST IS FOR PEOPLE WHO LOOSE SETTINGS AFTER SHUTTING DOWN GARMIN ---

I managed to get it working, i actually didn't do anything.
Here is what I think was happening.

When you start garmin, it copies/creates settings to the systems memory (not the storage card, the actual main memory of the unit, where windows is, some would call it the ROM) - it creates a folder called garmin with your settings files inside that folder. Then when you shut down garmin, it copies that garmin folder to the SD card (so it saves your settings on the sd card when you shut down), then when you re-open garmin, it copies from SD back to the system rom again. so it copies your settings back and forth when u open and close garmin. if u start garmin with que.exe, your settings will not be saved. So run the garmin exe

the thing that was happening to me was, i was loosing my settings after i switch off the power completely. But if i open and close garmin without shutting down my device it will keep settings.

I think what i was doing is turning off the power to early and not giving it a chance to copy the files, which explains why my settings were not saving.

that's what this line is for in the garmin.mscr file (that file can be opened in notepad)

#Save new settings back to SD Card
XCopy("\Garmin\*.*", SystemPath("ScriptPath")\"Settings", TRUE)

I found this out because it loads explorer before the garmin splash screen and i quickly saw that "garmin" folder get created. thats how i figured it out.

i hope this post helps, it stuffed me around for 2 days !! so i thought id share my findings with everyone

here is what someone on another forum said -

Explorer gets loaded because Garmin won't run without it. I tried every trick in the book, but it just refuses to start without Explorer (Windows CE shell) being present. That's where the script is fairly complex it loads Windows Explorer, hides the taskbar, sets up the working environment, then starts GarminXT. On exit it saves the working environment and kills Windows Explorer.

You should download asian version of this software for CE 5.0. On the net it is known as "Garmin_Mobile_XT_5.00.30wp-ASN_TH_No_Pain". I checked it. It works. "Install" package have only thai language fonts thai.ttf. You should download chinese font file chinese.ttf and all will be ok. Mentioned chinese.ttf is contained among others in colegue "Artful" package of the software for CE 6.0.

I have tried the asian package, the chinese UI worked. But the problem is the input to the address is using the WINCE keyboard.. any dll or files that I can make the input back to the garmin keyboard?
