Denovo 20th October 2008, 00:53 Your problem is a common problem of many fellows..So please don't fussy it alot.Infront of the class, more or less everyone become nervous but now the question is on the severity. your problem may be seeded from the early childhood when one might have extremes of experience from others.May be hormonal.May be Sympathetic overactivity.Don't allude Nerve/CNS related causes too.. but every prob has its own solution(except something). And it's not any exception buddy. Please for this connection, consult with a Psychiatrist for MENTAL COUNCELLING,the one and only way of averting nervousness and gaining confidence.Read life stories of your nation's heroes.Think positive always.Sleep well enough and quitely.Don't get tention.Don't think classroom an alien environment, but adapt with that. Engage in group discussion with your class mates. This way increase your interpersonal communication with others. This will unveil the"You" inside you. And ensure good physical health.Don't be frustrated at any point at any cost...But mind it please consult with one psychiatrist.He/she will undertake one mental councelling and if needed some Anti psychotic drugs may be prescribed by him. regards. yhandz 14th December 2008, 16:24 thanks for the comments shoes123 23rd December 2008, 14:29 thanks for the comments There is another technique that might be helpful. Role-playing. Imagine that you are someone else when you need to talk in the front of people. Try to imagine a person you think would do this well and without being nervous, then "act" like that person. It means that you will be someone else when you do this. On a day you have a class, be that person right after you get up in the morning, meaning that you will do things the way you think that imagined person does it (the way you eat breakfast or whatever). Over time, the nervousness should go away as you will become more confident and will start feeling good when talking in public. Kirketchel 6th February 2009, 08:07 Nervousness is actually caused by an intense feeling of anxiety motivated by your Mind. Such motivation toward anxiety are cause by your perceive threat and expectation that you program into your mind. Try practicing positive thinking don't criticize yourself in advance to what you can and can't do. Do not think of others expectation rather think of what answer you can provide for them in your manner of thoughts. Practice talking to people about anything, its a good way exercising your communication skills. In a simple practical sense, I am saying that be YOURSELF and DO NOT BE CONCERN ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK. YOU are YOU and THEY are THEY. Camboboy 8th January 2010, 15:19 I used to feel nervous while making presentations in my class, too. My classmates would tell me "Consider all the people listening to you animals." Wow! Bad idea, but it worked. I have 3 keys to tackle such nervousness. 1. Be sure of what i'm going to do; 2. Rehearsal; and 3. Expose myself to it. looksvivek 22nd July 2010, 15:51 One of my juniors is really nervous whenever he is asked to do something. Not only is he nervous in giving presentations, but he also starts shaking without any reason. I have tried boosting his confidence but he is not improving. Now I'm trying exposing him to such daunting situations that test his confidence. Posted via Mobile Device |
