My friend has an old CD-ROM in his car navigation system, which I don't know, and I was hoping to obtain the latest European map(s) that could also include Greece.

Here's what the CD-ROM file called ABSTRACT writes:

I've a challenging one for you should you choose to accept it..

Spring is coming and I promised my uncle that I'd find the new Charts of the Great Lakes and Maritimes from Navionics Gold. (apparently the new version has combined them)
It's proving to be more difficult than I thought! He's using a Lowrance system that uses a SD card and it's compatible with all the big names, hummingbird, eagle, etc.

Any help you could give is greatly appreciated.

Hi, which map do you require,City navigator or City select and which version of the one you require.....Mapsource in its self is not mapping software but the means of displaying and transfering the maps I have mentioned.

Hi, The Quest only has a 256mb memory so you need software with small maptiles so MetroGuide Europe V9 would be your best bet as it does not require any unlock code to send the maps from the Pc to your Quest.
MG is not routable as such but can be adapted quite easily by a piece of software called Metrowizz or better still metrogold and I use it on my own Quest and it works ok!

the latest is v 9, AFAIK...you can find it on torrents...you can't upgrade / update the maps (nor on merc neither on other).

you can find some versions on torrents BUT you'll need to find it by car (mercedes, Vw-audi, bmw), not by navigation model...you'll see that in cracking procedure, as it's slightly different from car to car model...

You find the same software on Garmin US web site is free to download. For maps you can use Sweden TOPO ( for geocashing ) . You find this map to buy on your local garmin dealer or free on torrents or e-mule. If you don`t find contact me on private.

I too have reached the same problem. Mapsource reports that the map is unlocked, but the Garmin GPS reports locked maps. Strangely, I now seem to have unlocked and installed Poland and France maps. I used ID848 and then attempted to work out the ID from the HEX number 50.03 as in the Reg file. This translated as 83. Now I would like to a) remove the maps that have been installed and start again, but I am new to the Garmin setup and dont want to remove the UK maps that came with the device when i purchased it two weeks ago.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

To change an unlock code enter in mapsource>utilities>unlock maps>view my installed unlock code> select your unlock code> delete

Repeat unlock procedure. To unlock maps for mapsource and gps device use kg and use your unit ID and MapID. If you have problems send me ( on private ) your unit ID and Map ID.

Device unit ID you will find in menu>about, or connect device to PC start mapsource and in utilities you find " get unit ID " .

I have bought the Garmin Nuvi 205 from USA with USA maps and I want to install Greek and Europe maps on it.

All maps from garmin are the same, they work with all devices, you can use a PC app to load maps in to device if you have maps in mapsource format, you can find it on Garmin site, or you simply copy the map in img. format to your device. I advice to read more about in garmin threads, they are lot of them.

But beware, if you copy one of this map to your device it will replace the map you have. Or you can rename them, garmin recognize 3 name beside basemap, witch is named "gmapbmap"

Hi, Thanks for the reply, sorry it does not have the windows mobile operating function. I managed to download the mobile navigator smart2go executable program, it worked on this device but I couldn't find the HK map which can support this navigation software (mobile navigator) I tested the gps with australian, UK map it worked. and the map file extension is .cdt . pls help me to find hong kong map cdt file with voice files as well.

also one more questio, can I use the above mentioned sygic software n map for E90 mobile. pls advice.

Go to settings/hardwareGPS/port com and select integrated GPS or assisted GPS, whatever you want to use, go outside and wait for it. Never indoors.

You have many options, but i think you have to choose the system who has the best maps for countries you are interested. The best? I think TomTom, but you can use also iGo8, Garmin, Sygic/McGuider, Navigon... It's your choice.

Yes. A lot. A few issues in this thread.

a) I dont know where's the latest upload. In forums like these(for ex the XDA) the latest update is generally post #1 updated to the latest one, but it doesnt seem this is latest.
b) I dont completely understand the latest DB upload is the complete software or the updated DB files only.

All in all, i am looking to install MapMyIndia iNAV Loaded with New Delhi as StateMap.

There is Topo Czech v1.20, it's about 179MB, very good coverage, but as you know, Garmin City Navigator 2009 v11 has also a very good coverage for it.

It looks like You made an error.... TOPO Czech have near 100% detail coverage, especially in Prag, Karlovy Vary, Brno. You probably cannot see it.

1/ The map is locked, so you try and verify unlock code for your device ID.
2/ If more then one map is loaded, go to Tools-Manage My Data-Map Sets- press Mapsource button- and there is it! check box ONLY for Topo Czech. Maps are not transparent.

Can some one please help me to load Nigeria maps on my Nokia 500 navigator. I was not able to find Nigeria maps for the device. It says that it uses NAVTEQ maps.

1)Rename grmastrlnt09.txt to grmastrlnt09.zip and extract
2)Copy gmapsupp.img to garmin folder of your memory card
3)Unlock using map id from above

usefull would be holland germany belgium and france cause i use them for my work :D

a software update would be wonderfull to as i,m still using vers 1.1B and the bad part is you will need a serial to d/l from their site [www.becker.de]

I knew that the ISO image name is 06-2TAKE087_ME.ISO size 55MB but still not sure if this is all what i need to have my navigation DVD as per the car say when i start it

I just bought a China GPS PDN.
It comes with iGo My Way 2006 Plus and Route 66 ver 7.0.2992
After reading the forum, it seems that i can upgrade the GPS software to something
better than these 2, am i right? :lol:
I have read somewhere that there is a iGO8 version for WinCE.NET running on PNDs (devices without Start Menu or Outlook Contacts / Tasks / Email functions, etc).
But just can't find it.
Can anyone Guru/s pls help me and point to be the location.
Or are they any other GPS software that is better than this.

Hi, last year i bought an gps(handheld) with Gate5 software, seems to be version 4.1
Its using navteq maps, seems that Gate5 is now owned by nokia, does nokia maps work on it, or do i have to upgrade it first?
And so, does anyone have newest scandinavia maps for this?
Have been looking on several forums for months now...
Its a binatone carrera x350, in case this matters...
