Winterface v1.14

http://i38.tinypic.com/ffbej9.jpg

Winterface is the Next Generation Shell for Windows Mobile comprising the options of a launcher, a task manager, and multitude of Today plug-ins. Winterface virtually replaces default interface of touch screen Windows Mobile devices and gives the user unprecedented freedom to easily lay out interface exactly the way they like it.

As a shell Winterface removes the necessity to turn to default Windows Mobile interface: Today screen and Start menu. Winterface opens instantly whenever users draw a simple gesture on the screen. It allows users to have as many screens as they need and put on them icons for applications, settings and contacts. The screens are flipped through with sliding finger gestures. The icons for such applications as phone, sms, email, battery, clock, calendar, memory, etc. - all show relevant information and thus replace a number of Today plug-ins.

As a launcher Winterface features one tap launch of any installed applications and settings. A tap on a contact icon opens a menu with contact details from where you can call, send text message, email, browse URL, etc.

As a task manager Winterface lets you easily switch between running applications. A fixed icon on the first screen lets users see running programs, switch between them or close them.

It is very convenient to organize icons on screens by a certain topic. Users can set up a screen with favorite contacts, a screen with most used applications, a screen with icons-indicators (battery, memory, calendar, clock, etc.), and so on, as far as their fantasy goes! Icons are easily moved on the screen and between screens by drag'n'drop gestures.

seems just like an iphone :) same unlocking method of iphone too... in the complex it's pretty good interface... the only thing is that a little bit difficult to start program (you have to tap almost perfectly the icon without movin or the programs will try to move to next display) and sometimes crashes or it seems that is not responding :(

oh btw i'm using an htc touch diamond with windows mobile professional 6.1 :D

Weird, I installed it too but didnt had any GPRS problems.
Already uninstalled it..I liked it but, I wasnt really looking for such a shell.
I'd rather have one with a home page, where u can find the time, see your appointsmants task and other stuff..so I am trying Manila 2D now..

The weather function and icon is a separate freeware cab file that can be downloaded from Vito but it only gives the weather for two days, ie. today and tomorrow. Even after I have uninstalled my Winterface, this function is still available as a stand alone program and I can still update the weather.

Anyway, I found out that it was because of this weather function that caused my handphone to connect to GPRS whenever I launches Winterface. This function will grab the weather data of the location you selected through GPRS so when Winterface is launched (with this weather function embedded in it), it will launch together and that puts my handphone into GPRS mode.

I have since re-installed Winterface on my Omnia without the weather function to try out how if it still drains the battery like it's other previous versions.

...Just found out that the battery icon doesn't open up to the Power display page. In fact, it does nothing at all...???

on htc touch diamond the icon battery is working and the icon changes by the level of the battery...

WELCOME TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF WINDOWS MOBILE USER INTERFACE!
Winterface is a mobile shell of next generation that can virtually replace the default Windows Mobile user interface. By doing this Winterface also gives you the full freedom of organizing your interface exactly as you like it, with style and enhanced functionality.

FREEDOM of CUSTOMIZATION
Winterface allows users to set up as many screens as they need and put icons on these screens for applications, settings, contacts - everything available on their WM devices through a standard boring interface. Below are several screens organized in Winterface.

TASK MANAGER & LAUNCHER
Winterface allows users easily monitor what applications are running, switch between them or close them. They just need to tap a permanent icon "Running" on the first screen. Then tap any icon in the newly appeared window to switch to this application. They need to tap a smaller red icon in the upper right corner of a bigger icon to close the corresponding application
Tapping any icon launches an application, setting dialog, or opens contact's details.

EASE of USE
Winterface is unbelievably easy to use. This is not just intuitive. This is natural. All icons are finger-friendly, the screens are smoothly flipped through with sliding finger gestures. All icons can be placed anywhere on the screen, then moved across the screens, deleted, added. It is also possible to create dublicate icons on separate screens.
Above this, Winterface offers some extra features like setting phone profile. Download and discover other extra goodies in Winterface right now. The trial is fully functional for 14 days.
